Sbw,
Fantastic news.

Jimmyk,
Great news as well

I don’t remember who posted the Junior Brown link last night, but I wanted to say thanks. The Surfer Medley is a lot of fun. Of course, being the idiot I am, Highway Patrol is my favorite. :)

GUS

Gentlejim, the surfer medley was awesome. I cannot fathom why Highway Patrol would garner your interest!! You are awesome, and I look forward to meeting you. Soon.

gentlejim

Matt Damon says if you buy a Stella Artois chalice they’ll be able to get water from the new ass crack in Kenya.

gentlejim

Right on, GUS!!!

GUS

Matt Damon, is as big a CLOWN as exists in America.
There is good news however. Mack Dumbon, says he is moving to Australia.
GOOD LUCK WITH THE FLOWING WATER there MACK.

Anyone who has ever watched ANYTHING this douche bag has "acted" in, is forever DUMBER than snot.

The Infamous Ignatz

I posted the Junior Brown link, gj. Have loved not only his playing but his vocals for many years. Check out Broke Down South of Dallas and Long Walk Back to San Antone for more greatness. :)

GUS

Gentlejim, we've chatted a lot of times. You are always in my prayers, for what you do. And because of your NAME.

The Infamous Ignatz

--But I am not responsible for the great minds of the NYT and CNN, so it really does not weaken any argument I choose to make here.--

Concur Appalled. You need no great mind other than your own to present hopelessly weak arguments.

Like when Kirk referrenves the works of jacqueline Susann is star trek 4 and Kirk says the classics, the disturbing thing is bow they would refer 50 shades of gray, were on a slalom to Sodom.

gentlejim

Thnx, Iggy, will do.

Thank you, GUS.

The Infamous Ignatz

--Actually, Ig, when I think of what almost happened, ... my mind turns to you, and your lovely wife. My sentiments pale in comparison. I ache, and send you all the warmth I can muster.--

I'm very glad Mrs SBW is home and on the mend SB.

Monday was my wife's birthday. To quote an old Blondie song I am always touched by her presence.

GUS

Fantastic Ig. I've never seen such self important nonsense as APPALLED in my life. Brevity is usually better than APPALLED utter bullshit and attempts at being PROFOUND. Tom R. is a very close second in that regard. Appalled is angry and condescening....TOM R, is light, and BREEEEEEZY. And stupid. He IS THEO LITE.

jim nj

I have to confess that while I don't agree with everything TomR writes [I don't even agree with about half of what I write for that matter] he doesn't bother me and I find his comments pretty interesting.

jim nj

Who is this Appalled you refer to?

Is he the same as Appalled blocked - whose text I never see?

GUS

Ig, God bless your wife. Time goes by, and I don't want to forget what you went through. Ig, You are a warrior, and you are an intelligent, thoughtful chap. Not to be an ass, but my band opened for Blondie and the Smithereens, a couple years ago.
It was awesome. However, the Smithereens guitarist Jimmy Babjak, who is a very close friend of mine....had recently lost his beautiful wife BETTY.
tWe played, the SMITHEREENS played, and Blondie played. I googled DEBORAH HARRY....she is over 70. I savored every moment of being on the BILL with BOTH....Blondie, and my friends the SMITHEREENS. The Smithereens lost their SINGER SONG WRITER ...Pat DiNIZIO last fall. The cycle of life goes on. Ignatz, you seem strong and determined. I admire you, and I wish you all of the best.

narcisocenfl

Appalled doesn't even make it interested, I suggested he elaborated his premise be can't.tom r by contrast spreads scenarios that ate possible but probably unlikely.

Cause you're a fag who needs a safe space?

Seriously Dude, if you ever came up against a counter-argument I think you'd piss your fucking pants and I'm not even joking.

GUS

Ig, I'm not suggesting that anyone blocks or ignores Tom R. And I know for certain, that I arrive at my opinions and conclusions very quickly, possibly to a fault. HOWEVER. I recognize phonies, and I recognize LIBTARD nonsensical ACTORS and dishonest FULL COMMIE shit spreaders.
TOM R. Maybe an honest man, who is completely without any depth or he may be WAY IN OVER HIS HEAD. Ig, my instinct tells me that TOM R, isn't an ass hole. He believes the LIGHT WEIGHT NONSENSE that he POSTS. Not to be a complete prix, but TOM R. is not worth my time.

Ig, one more thought. TOM R. is THEO.

Just stating my opinion GUS, not trying to change yours. :)

The Infamous Ignatz

I have to confess that while I don't agree with everything TomR writes [I don't even agree with about half of what I write for that matter] he doesn't bother me and I find his comments pretty interesting.

Thanks. I just point out possibilities and try to connects the dots as I see them. Some people here are apparently incapable of understanding that.

This is the first place I've ever encountered anyone who accused me of spreading COMMIE shit. I don't think their judgment of character is as good as they perceive it to be.

gentlejim

Iggy,
I watched the two recommended videos. They’re very good fun. I did go a bit beyond just those two, though. Listening to Junior Brown is like eating a bag of chips. Once you start it’s hard to stop. I don’t listen often, but when I do it’s in bunches.

GUS

Jim Nj. I had the same thought. Why are we not able to put our criminal pols, to the task??

GUS

Ignatz, I am not asking you to you to approve of my opinions. And, I don't expect you to approve of mine. We are generally on the same path.

Jim Nj. I had the same thought. Why are we not able to put our criminal pols, to the task??

Posted by: GUS | April 05, 2018 at 01:18 AM
-----

Exactly. If a country like Brazil, where corruption seems to flourish, can put a former politician into jail, why can't we, a country of relatively less corruption [?], not do the same.

jim nj

We've prosecuted representatives and senators for wrong-doing.

We're arguing among ourselves about whether the deep-state will come to justice, and how soon, and how hard will the blow be.

I think it's coming, don't know when, but if it does happen the way I think it will it will lead to more people than are currently under investigation being caught up in the web.

Dave (in MA)

'Why has my fake-ass charity been de-monetized by 95% in the past year you might ask?"

jim nj

If we can prosecute elected officials, we should be able to do so to un-elected government workers. Like Brennan, Clapper, etc.

The prosecution of the deep-state could take a very long time. With wave after wave of implicated people.

However that works out, it won't be enough.

We need to audit every group that has received slush fund money from government settlements and prosecute if we find any wrongdoing.

We need to investigate every NGO to see if they have received foreign funds or other support to influence domestic policy. Like the pipelines. If so, prosecute.

We need to go after foundations, they've all been co-opted by the left. Ford and Rockefeller would be appalled at what their foundations are up to.

And you don't even have to go after them for their politics. Set a limit on administrative costs, so they can't hire policy specialists. Term limit them. Require a higher spend rate or tax them.

Alinsky Rules - humiliate them for not spending their money on struggling students deep in debt.

Launch a youth movement for them to demand that the foundations support them. Evil foundations won't support struggling students. Wasting their money on highly paid "policy experts." Why waste that money that would be better spent on students.

Anybody catch my drift. It's not just the deep state we nee to attack, it's every leftist outfit out there.

jim nj

Go after Soros. We don't need to do it directly. Just privately invite all the foreign countries he's tried to influence, or fix elections in, to file their complaints with the Justice Dept. for review.

GUS

Jim nj. For the love of GOD. Anyone with an 80 plus i.q. or a job as a HIGH LEVEL FBI muckety muck, would have CERTAINLY, BY NOW, RECOGNIZED how RODHAM is the only pile of shit, that had ANYTHING TO DO WITH RUSSIAN COLLUSION.

Yet these CORRUPT MOTHER FUCKERS, such as MUELLER, ROSENSTEIN and the REST.......SEEM TO HAVE NOT NOTICED?????
This "INVESTIGATION" was supposed to be about the POSSIBILITY of RUSSIAN...."INTERFERENCE" in our ELECTIONS. Even that definition is a FUCKING JOKE. And YET. 15 MONTHS later, AMERICA has been FUCKING PROPAGANDIZED to believe this "INVESTIGATION" is some how about DONALD TRUMP and some sort of BULLSHIT Collusion.
What was the purpose of this FUCKING NONSENSICAL "investigation" supposed to be "about".
THIS IS THE BIGGEST SCANDAL IN U.S HISTORY.
The criminal mother fuckers ARE NOT BEING INVESTIGATED, and the SWAMP MOTHERFUCKERS are investigation EVERYTHING......EXCEPT.... the OBVIOUS TRUTH.
A WAR IS COMING, I've said this for years. A WAR IS INDEED COMING, and I'll be ready.

Kevlar Kid

yeowsa.

jim nj

GUS,

Yes, we don't know exactly what is being investigated and if any of it touches on Hillary.

But if some current FBI officials are discredited, as I think likely, the Hillary investigation may re-open.

If I'm forced to choose between OL and RG. I come down on the side of RG, but fully understand OL's pessimism.

If this goes as I think it will, there will be a first wave of defendants, who may have already negotiated in return for leniency. Then a second tranche indicted based on the first's testimony. Ad infinitum.

I don't see this as a one-time thing. I see this as a process that could take years to unfold. Maybe even in Trump's seventh year in office, if he's re-elected.

In the meantime, it should be very useful to legally investigate any group that is opposed to open democracy.

jim nj

GUS,

Yes, that's a goal to so thoroughly discredit the MSM that they lose all their influence. If they have to start reporting honestly on the truth that they have been hiding they're done influencing the American people.

If they choose to fight against what get's revealed, even worse.

It really all depends on what get's revealed and how strong the evidence is. Lots of plea agreements, if they occur, will taint them forever as the investigation continues.

Special for jim nj, your latin phrase of the day:

jim nj

Right now, it seems, every investigative journalist is focused on taking down Trump.

A La Woodard and Bernstein. Make your fame by taking down a sitting president, but what if they had something else to chew on?

Would they ignore it? Or would they seek the Pulitzer by going non-partisan and just following the clues?

Maybe I'm projecting, but it takes less effort to find the truth, then to defy Occam's razor and come up with convoluted justifications for wrong-doing.

Miss Marple the Deplorable

Good morning!

President Trump was supposed to have dinner with Peter Theil and the head of Oracle last night.

The last part was easy (semper) like semper fidelis, Marine's always faithful, (mortem) death, (expectavi or - abam) expecting.

Hope this is readable---a Twitter thread about Sen. Grassley's hearings on Parkland, with a number of the people who failed to do what they were supposed to do testifying. (Absolutely zero of which I read or heard about anywhere.)

It's funny I took Latin and Spanish for two years each. Could read either one, but couldn't speak either.

Two hundred years ago a classical education meant you could read Latin and Greek from the originals. No translation needed.

Nowadays, as RSE has documented, that wouldn't be allowed. That's not what we need you to know.

Our founders were more well read than are students of today. Our students of today have the advantage of two hundred more years of knowledge, but they don't understand the British political philosophies that helped form our democracy.

This interview is a jumping off point for the discussion on why certain large corporations oppose Trump.

In the process something is brought up which has bugged me for a long time. The inflation rate is calculated WITHOUT using food or energy prices. They both are left out. Yet these are the items that are a large part of the American family's budget.

It's not an accident. It's deliberate, and this article will explain why.

jim nj

https://seekingalpha.com/article/4160149-2-measures-inflation-fed-policy

There was an argument to remove the most volatile elements of inflation from the core measure.

Food and fuel were excluded, because of their volatility and were down-graded in the calculation of inflation.

jim nj

Some people don't like this argument, but most of our recent recessions were caused by energy price spikes.

Davod

I thought fuel was taken out because the price of fuel was factored into the cost of everything else.

Miss Marple the Deplorable

jim nj,

I can understand the concerns about volatility. However, being a person who does frugal grocery shopping and who remembers distinctly when a loaf of white bread was 79 cents a few years ago (Kroger store brand) and it is now at $1.19, I think this hides the difficulties many struggling families have.

Gasoline costs seem to be more publicized, at least here in Indiana. No one talks about food prices, though. A box of Cheerios is $3.19. Seems to me this is a problem which is ignored.

Davod

Miss Marple the Deplorable

I don't know. I just registered to vote on line (new address since the last election).

I was able to do so by entering my name, address, birth date, and drivers license number. Indiana does ask if you are a citizen and cautions there are heavy fines and possible imprisonment for lying.

However, I don't know that illegals would necessarily be swayed by that, and I will bet cash money California doesn't even offer those warnings.

Going through more papers, we have found a black & white photo album type magazine that chronicles the V1 and V2 bombings of Antwerp and adjacent towns in 1944 and 1945.

4,248 V1 and 1,712 V2. Photos of all the damage done. Lots of tables of stats. An amazing find. First V1 fell here in Brasschaat, about 10 miles from central Antwerp.

MM-I believe I have told the story of taking my 90 year old grandmother out for lunch in the mid-80s. Her methodist retirement home was in a primarily black part of atlanta (having lost a close friend in the wynecoff hotel fire she could not get a low floor at wesley woods). I take her to red lobster and she proceeds to squeal about the "cutest pickanninny" at an adjacent table. The very nice family took the compliment in the spirit it had been offered and just smiled and nodded.

jim had a link to diana west above and this line on ed struck me. "The students will be taught on the basis of Marxian dialectical materialsm, internationalism and the general ethics of the new Socialist society."

Dialectical materialism is a mouthful. Unfortunately the use of Ideas as in teaching students to Think with supplied categories of thought is the modern day use of DM. http://invisibleserfscollar.com/intertwining-architects-advocates-makes-planned-mind-manipulation-both-tight-and-nearly-invisible/ is from yesterday and lays part of that out. Since I have Part 3 already laid out and the next post on Integral Consciousness and how it uses the Good, True, and Beautiful I can see where all this is going.

Likewise, at the bottom of those quotes from the book West excerpted is a reference about developing the human personalities. That is little 'c' communism rightfully understood. It is in Marx's early writings and was not widely disseminated in English until the late 50s. Daniel Bell wrote about it in a book of his I have and how 'we' now understand what communism was really meant to be far better than any theories Lenin possessed when he commenced the Bolshevik Revolution.

The full development of their personlities is what is called Marxist Humanism. It matters greatly because in the early 60s the global theorists all recognised that the place where the preconditions of technology were in place was the US, not china or the ussr. All ed reforms in the US and globally starting in the 60s have been about engineering that MH template.

rse

http://theweek.com/articles/764821/why-cities-should-just-annex-suburbs

From the conclusion

"Perhaps if such a reorganization took place, suburban denizens might even see the value of universal high-quality public services for themselves, including public transportation throughout the whole metro area. But ultimately, it's only fair that economic and population centers should be governed as whole instead of one portion being stuck with all the burdens and another raking in all the benefits."

Miss Marple the Deplorable

rse,

Many years ago Indianapolis and Marion County became one unit. This was instituted by a Republican mayor, Richard Lugar, who got away with it by keeping the Indianapolis Public School System separate from the 8 township suburban school systems.

Over the years, all that has happened is that taxes have gone up, and fiefdoms such as county sheriff system have become entrenched. We still have a bus system for mass transit, and it's not very extensive.

I see no evidence that people have changed their ideas about any of those "high-quality" public services. Mostly what happened is that people moved out of Marion County to farther-flung suburbs.

rse

We saw some of this in that To Kill a Mockingbird activity I put up a few days ago, but this shows how the purpose of reading has changed.

"That's why it's a framing mistake to focus a story's conflict on individuals, whether bad actors or those in harm's way. Instead, in a social justice narrative, "complications in the plot come not from deficiencies of character in either the hero or the villain but from structures and systems that are not being maintained or continue to embed and reproduce historic injustice."

The moral of the story, in this alternative narrative structure, is this: When we fulfill our shared duty to act, we have a meaningful impact."

MM-the same public policy planners who want to use ed to try to turn the mind into a manipulated, largely predictable system also need control over aggregate human systems like cities or workplaces. That's what annexation does. In the workplace, it is what diversity and equity mandates do. Not an accident. That language on annexation is straight from the language of the Human Devt Society when it is not hiding behind euphemisms.

It frequently hides though although language used is generally a tipoff to me, much like that George Weigel essay from the other day. The turn of phrase is usually what will send me looking for common funding.

James D.

MM, got are 100% right about inflation. I don’t care what arguments economists (sorry, Jimmyk) use to justify keeping food prices out of inflation calculation as. It’s totally dishonest.

My grocery have nearly doubled over the past 10 or so years. Chicken breast used to be $2.99/lb at regular price, and sometimes $1.99 on sale. The same exact chicken now (well, the same quality and brand, not the same actual bird) is now $5.99/lb regular price and $3.99/lb on sale. Orange juice was $2.99 for 64 ounces; the same brand is now $4.49 for 59 ounces.

It’s not just a lie. It’s a completely insulting and ridiculous lie.

Miss Marple the Deplorable

James D.,

I agree. Until I discovered that food prices weren't included, I used to wonder how come inflation wasn't so high as what I was seeing.

It makes no sense to me as they use an assortment of consumer goods like televisions and such.

Well, I don't have to buy a television every week. In fact, I don't have to buy one at all. On the other hand, I DO have to buy food, so escalating prices in the grocery store are important to me.

I had forgotten about Steve Green, although he was one of my favorites back in the 80's and 90's. The radio station I used ot hear his recordings on changed formats. Sandi Patty is, of course, from Indiana so is a feature around here at the symphony and the Yuletide Christmas performances.

Dear @USPS
You “mock” @realDonaldTrump saying you’re NOT taxpayer “funded”
Yet your pensions are “backed” by us, operate at a loss on every package delivered, operate at net loss/ accrued debt
Think average citizens’ business get that deal?

Think again,

Gentlejim,
Agree about Junior Brown. One of those guys who never really makes an outright bad song.

And I have grown used to clarice of the wondering eye.
Oh fickle woman, thy name is clarice.

I'm sure there is a 4th Dimension reason for this which mere mortals cannot grasp. In case you thought Sessions had a temper tantrum last week to address these things.

I see I have taken up residence in a lot of small minds, even the ones who have me on killfile. I am sorry about Iggy, who has a lot of interesting thoughts and is a fine writer when he isn't engaging in schoolboy taunts. Ig, for now, has so fallen in love with thoughts of the coming counterrevolution, that he can't see what his brave new world really amounts to. I am almost as optimistic by nature as RattleGator, so I figure he'll get over it. I also think the the system will keep his current preferred leader within the Bill of Rights, despite the leader's preference for something that gives him a free hand to squash all the people that bug him.

GUS really needs to be respected as a pioneer. He was writing like our President even before Twitter. Fortunately, unlike our President, we don't have to take him seriously.

You know, I have never minded people using killfile. I expect a lot more will now be using it. But I do find it interesting that people waste pixels bragging about it. I thought virtue signaling was a left wing thing.

G'bye for now. I will be lurking, but commenting from me looks like it will just generate food fights, and Maguire deserves better than that.

And to save Gus some effort....CLOWN!

You may be interested in who else thought Globalism, that great GOP foundation, was a great idea - in 1932.

I think you are conflating the term “globalization” with “globalism”. The former describes global free trade, multinational corporations, etc. I suppose you could say that the GOP Establishment and US Chamber of Commerce favors it. Globalism is indeed another leftwing form of Communism. George Soros’ Open Society is one of the leading advocates for globalism., which is a one-party authoritarian form of government.
