Fox News and Fox Business did a partial coverage on the M13 meeting yesterday.

Old Lurker

I have the same reaction to Ext's post about the FBI never having asked (instructed) the Love Texters to preserve their personal devices.

When this came up yesterday, MM asked if the NSA might have records of those communications. Maybe, maybe not. Given the Obama-bots still sitting in cubicles of power, why would anyone think the NSA will give them to anybody on Trump's side anyway. But not even being told to preserve is direct evidence to me of what I said at 1:39. That is so far past "ooops" as to make those bosses part of the conspiracy to overthrow Trump is how I see it.

Four things to understand about SPYGATE:
1) There was no spy in the Trump campaign.
2) The spying that did NOT happen was totally justified.
3) It would be bad for national security to identify the spy who doesn't exist. 4) His name is Stefan.

Worth noting, on 3 separate occasions, not 1, not 2, but 3 separate occasions... @BarackObama refused to pardon Jack Johnson. Twice in 2009, at the height of his popularity, and again in 2016 before he left office. But he did pardon Bradley Manning.

henry-you and I have had this discussion offline, but just my reading of the ed components of the GDPR make the legislation likely to force everyone to get a handle on what data is out there, what roduces it, and what it can be used to examine. That makes 'governance' by politically declared goals all the easier as the gap gets examined using data.

Secondly, compliance is easier if smaller businesses simply use the servers of the big company who can then be the ones who state gdpr is being complied with. Meanwhile their stores of useful big data go up exponentially.

james mentioned route 50 which is essentially state and local govt officials. It rahter makes a mockery of local as the way to get beyond progressivism.

Here's another useful acronym--TOGA. Translocal Organizations of Governmental Actors. Think CCSSO, NGA, ICLEI, groups of mayors etc. Much of the centralized blueprint gets quietly put into place by dealing with TOGAs and having the local officials adopt the blueprint. Centralized plan, local implementation, quite standardized except for minor tweaks to 'look' local.

Miss Marple the Deplorable

Old Lurker,

I am optimistic about how this will all come out, but I do NOT think Mueller is on our side.

The only good thing about that investigation is that he looks increasingly desperate and political, and the American people are beginning to see that as well.

My Mom was Randolph Macon.
Now Randolph College, with boys, to distinguish it from the other one.

I believe my Grandmom, Lottie Moon Snead, went there in about 1912-1915 time-frame. She hated the place. Her Fork Union, Virginia family had previously donated the property for Fork Union Military Academy to be built upon, but a stipulation of that donation was that since there was not a High School in Fork Union, until there was one the handful of young women in town would be allowed to attend the Fork Union Military Academy with all those boy Cadets, and Grandma LaLa, who was positively boy crazy and the prettiest gal in Fork Union, ate that up:) Ergo, when she graduated High School she then went to that all girls College and she absolutely hated the place, and the great line I recall her saying dismissively many, many times was "There wasn't a pair of pants on the property."

My understanding of Bolton's and Pence's comments on the "Libyan Model" was a reference to Libya giving up nuclear ambitions when Bush went nation building in the middle east. Not when Hillary launched operations "We came, we saw, he died."

The MFM went nutso and Trump didn't help matters when he appeared to misunderstand the "Libyan Model" due to how out of context the MMF had altered everything.

The media, IMO, is responsible for the breakdown in talks.

Danielle says she unplugged all the devices, and she repeatedly called Amazon. She says an Alexa engineer investigated.

Did you actually read the FBI letter to Senator Grassley? It clearly states the FBI did not conduct of search of Strzok and Pages personal phones and email accounts. FYI the FBI is not involved with this investigation. The DOJ IG is conducting the investigation. Nowhere in the FBI letter does it say what Horowitz or Huber has (or hasn't) done in regards to Strzok and Pages personal phones and email accounts.

That means there is zero factual evidence publicly available for anyone to make a valid conclusion one way or the other.

It is both sad and ironic that has-been Watergate sleuth Carl Bernstein is actively helping cover up a political scandal that is worse than Watergate
================================

I don't think Bernstein was a sleuth. They were fed information from the grudge-holding FBI guy. Since it was against a Republican president, Bernstein was all too happy to write the story.

I wonder how many misinformed FBI whistleblowers have gone to Bernstein, only to have their stories deep sixed (and their identities probably revealed to Comey).

Of course I don't have direct evidence. Neither does OL which is why I made the point. Why would anyone get bent out of shape that the FBI did not collect all of Strzok/Page's personal emails/texts/phone calls? Why would they since the FBI aren't the ones conducting the investigation?

Eye Doctor

Tom R

Can Mueller investigate himself?

Porchlight

Seems pretty factual to me, henry.

We already know the IG has been handling Strzok and Page communications because Horowitz's team recovered their texts.

https://saraacarter.com/recovered-fbi-strzok-and-page-texts-expected-today/

In January, DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz announced that his team of IT experts recovered the Samsung 5 cellphones of FBI Special agent Peter Strzok and his paramour FBI Attorney Lisa Page, both now at the center of numerous ongoing Congressional investigations. The pair is being investigated for their involvement in the Bureau’s investigation into President Trump’s campaign and alleged collusion with Russia during the 2016 election. The agents were also involved in the FBI’s investigation into former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and her use of a private server to conduct government business while she was Secretary of State.

My point is that Tom R is not "parsing" when he says that the FBI wouldn't be the agency in question asking for this information. The OIG would have been. That is simple deduction.

Eye Doctor

Miss Marple the Deplorable

I think the JEF wanted to fire Horowitz but was prevented from doing so by a whistleblower law Congress amended. He got around that bit of enforced transparency by not replacing IGs who went elsewhere or retired.

Threadkiller

The FBI was charged with researching itself according to the Judicial Watch link that started today's kerfuffle:

Prior to the judge’s order, on May 17, Judicial Watch filed a joint status report in federal court regarding the production of Strzok-Page documents. According to the report, between April 5 and May 4, 2018, the FBI processed only 35 pages of potentially responsive records identified as travel requests, authorizations, vouchers and expense reports for Strzok and Page, and 16 pages were released.

https://www.judicialwatch.org/press-room/press-releases/judicial-watch-fbi-ask-strzok-page-preserve-records/

As far as who is investigating and who already has what material, nobody knows so we are left assuming.

Here is my assumption, the FBI would say to Judicial watch, "we are sorry but the information you requested is part of an ongoing investigation," to avoid the FOIA process all together, if the OIG already had the personal communications.

Again. Who knows...

henry

CH, didn't Yates wall off the "national security" activity from the IG?

Tom R

My point is that Tom R is not "parsing" when he says that the FBI wouldn't be the agency in question asking for this information. The OIG would have been. That is simple deduction.

Yes it was a simple deduction. Here is one that is a little more complex. Here is the JW press release:

https://www.judicialwatch.org/press-room/press-releases/judicial-watch-fbi-ask-strzok-page-preserve-records/

The Justice Department informed Judicial Watch late last week that “the FBI plans to send letters to Peter Strzok and Lisa Page asking them to preserve agency records on their personal accounts and personal devices and requesting confirmation that they are doing so.” Judicial Watch made the preservation request to the FBI as part of its Freedom of Information (FOIA) lawsuit for records of the two current and former FBI officials.

This requires an understanding of what all Federal records are eligible for public release as part of a FOIA request. Regardless of their role in the Obama administration's criminal corruption, Strzok and Page still possess their 1st and 4th amendment Constitutional rights. Their personal emails/texts/phone calls are not eligible for release to Judicial Watch as part of a FOIA request because they are not official Federal records.

Here is where the more complex decuction comes in.

Strzok/Page's personal communications are not eligible for a FOIA request unless the DOJ IG already has copies of them as part of the criminal investigation. Now they are Federal records, but only the specific personal communications that are being used as evidence in any criminal proceedings. These personal communications can't be released to Judicial Watch as part of a FOIA request until they have been processed to remove all personal information that has nothing to do with the Horowitz/Huber investigation. That is why it will take several months for the FBI to comply with the JW FOIA request.

Eye Doctor

And we expect the OIG's report to do what?

Next thing you know, you're having a video chat with whoever's in the kitchen.

I've already talked about robot cooking, with Alexa controlling the sous vide. Just did a pork tenderloin last night, in fact. Came out perfect. 130 degrees for 1 to 3 hours. Perfect.

And of course you can ask it all kinds of things. Sometimes it's too dumb to answer, but other times it's surprisingly smart.

Also, playing music is just about ideal if you have Prime Music. Ask it to play any song or album by any artist, or any genre or type of music and off you go. It can even play through a better bluetooth speaker, but the echo speakers are pretty nice themselves.

It's easy to disable the camera or microphone by voice commands, but I guess that requires a level of trust. I seriously doubt that Amazon would take that risk.
