OK, the notion that the Maltese Professor, Joseph Mifsud, is an asset or associate of Western intelligence agencies rather than the Russkies is taking hold. Obviously this is a BFD requiring a Maximum Cone of Silence from the Legacy Media since if we learn that the current pretext for the FBI Russian investigation was a British intelligence operation well, yikes - that will surely put the 'special' back in "special relationship".
My favorite part of the linked story is this non-denial denial:
In the January interview, Roh asked Mifsud if he was working for MI6. “No,” said Mifsud, “no, never, I was never an agent.”
Lawyers who think in terms of principals and agents may find that to be satisfactory. However, in the spy novels I read "agents" are folks like James Bond, with the extraordinary background and special training. "Assets" can be anyone recruited by the agents. For example, the other professor in the news, Stefan Halper, was an asset but not an agent.
Send better denials.
Thanks for the new thread.

Stephanie, for the record, I agree with you on the evolution of racial "progress" in Atlanta. On a certain level, it is sad. Truly sad. And Chicago (plus elsewhere) surely mirrors it.

Henry, I'm gonna deal with your straw man allegation in a minute.

Here's an interesting comment at the latest post by Conservative Treehouse about Trey Gowdy:
So what are we to make of this? NUNES TRUSTS HIM.
I’m COMPLETELY baffled by this.
Here's my take: I don't think Nunes trusts him. I think the point is that the applicable folks in the Trump Administration [1] trust Nunes, and [2] the applicable folks in the Trump Administration knew beforehand -- this is the 4D chess, T.K. et al. -- that Congress is first among equals and they couldn't stop Trey Gowdy from doing what he has done if they wanted to.
Y'all have successfully pulled KK toward your "react" position. That's not Trump. He surveils. He plans for flexibility and resiliency.
So . . . what to do?
Let Gowdy do just what he has done.
Same with Mueller.
They aren't driving the damn train and we have no need to fear them. And, again, you can't stop Gowdy and the sellouts on some of these committees. It's a separate branch of government.
They, however, have every reason to fear Trump and Sessions and Horowitz and Huber.
In case y'all haven't noticed, these Obama Admin freaks are guilty (Sally Yates et al.) and the more they maneuver, the more guilty they look to more and more of the country.
But . . . for all those I good-naturedly refer to as battered spouses; it's so sad that y'all are missing out on all the fun . . . quick now, get back to your regularly scheduled programming of fear, fear and more fear.

Kremlin critic turns up alive on TV after reported murdered
Here's Mark Twain's write up of the surprise appearance of "murdered" reporter Arkady Babchenko at the presser:
BUT there was no hilarity in the little town that same tranquil Saturday afternoon. The Harpers, and Aunt Polly's family, were being put into mourning, with great grief and many tears. An unusual quiet possessed the village, although it was ordinarily quiet enough, in all conscience. The villagers conducted their concerns with an absent air, and talked little; but they sighed often. The Saturday holiday seemed a burden to the children. They had no heart in their sports, and gradually gave them up.
In the afternoon Becky Thatcher found herself moping about the deserted schoolhouse yard, and feeling very melancholy. But she found nothing there to comfort her. She soliloquized:
"Oh, if I only had a brass andiron–knob again! But I haven't got anything now to remember him by." And she choked back a little sob.
Presently she stopped, and said to herself:
"It was right here. Oh, if it was to do over again, I wouldn't say that—I wouldn't say it for the whole world. But he's gone now; I'll never, never, never see him any more."
This thought broke her down, and she wandered away, with tears rolling down her cheeks. Then quite a group of boys and girls—playmates of Tom's and Joe's—came by, and stood looking over the paling fence and talking in reverent tones of how Tom did so–and–so the last time they saw him, and how Joe said this and that small trifle (pregnant with awful prophecy, as they could easily see now!)—and each speaker pointed out the exact spot where the lost lads stood at the time, and then added something like "and I was a–standing just so—just as I am now, and as if you was him—I was as close as that—and he smiled, just this way—and then something seemed to go all over me, like—awful, you know—and I never thought what it meant, of course, but I can see now!"
Then there was a dispute about who saw the dead boys last in life, and many claimed that dismal distinction, and offered evidences, more or less tampered with by the witness; and when it was ultimately decided who DID see the departed last, and exchanged the last words with them, the lucky parties took upon themselves a sort of sacred importance, and were gaped at and envied by all the rest. One poor chap, who had no other grandeur to offer, said with tolerably manifest pride in the remembrance:
"Well, Tom Sawyer he licked me once."
But that bid for glory was a failure. Most of the boys could say that, and so that cheapened the distinction too much. The group loitered away, still recalling memories of the lost heroes, in awed voices.
When the Sunday–school hour was finished, the next morning, the bell began to toll, instead of ringing in the usual way. It was a very still Sabbath, and the mournful sound seemed in keeping with the musing hush that lay upon nature. The villagers began to gather, loitering a moment in the vestibule to converse in whispers about the sad event. But there was no whispering in the house; only the funereal rustling of dresses as the women gathered to their seats disturbed the silence there. None could remember when the little church had been so full before. There was finally a waiting pause, an expectant dumbness, and then Aunt Polly entered, followed by Sid and Mary, and they by the Harper family, all in deep black, and the whole congregation, the old minister as well, rose reverently and stood until the mourners were seated in the front pew. There was another communing silence, broken at intervals by muffled sobs, and then the minister spread his hands abroad and prayed. A moving hymn was sung, and the text followed: "I am the Resurrection and the Life."
As the service proceeded, the clergyman drew such pictures of the graces, the winning ways, and the rare promise of the lost lads that every soul there, thinking he recognized these pictures, felt a pang in remembering that he had persistently blinded himself to them always before, and had as persistently seen only faults and flaws in the poor boys. The minister related many a touching incident in the lives of the departed, too, which illustrated their sweet, generous natures, and the people could easily see, now, how noble and beautiful those episodes were, and remembered with grief that at the time they occurred they had seemed rank rascalities, well deserving of the cowhide. The congregation became more and more moved, as the pathetic tale went on, till at last the whole company broke down and joined the weeping mourners in a chorus of anguished sobs, the preacher himself giving way to his feelings, and crying in the pulpit.
There was a rustle in the gallery, which nobody noticed; a moment later the church door creaked; the minister raised his streaming eyes above his handkerchief, and stood transfixed! First one and then another pair of eyes followed the minister's, and then almost with one impulse the congregation rose and stared while the three dead boys came marching up the aisle, Tom in the lead, Joe next, and Huck, a ruin of drooping rags, sneaking sheepishly in the rear! They had been hid in the unused gallery listening to their own funeral sermon!
Aunt Polly, Mary, and the Harpers threw themselves upon their restored ones, smothered them with kisses and poured out thanksgivings, while poor Huck stood abashed and uncomfortable, not knowing exactly what to do or where to hide from so many unwelcoming eyes. He wavered, and started to slink away, but Tom seized him and said:
"Aunt Polly, it ain't fair. Somebody's got to be glad to see Huck."
"And so they shall. I'm glad to see him, poor motherless thing!" And the loving attentions Aunt Polly lavished upon him were the one thing capable of making him more uncomfortable than he was before.
Suddenly the minister shouted at the top of his voice: "Praise God from whom all blessings flow—SING!—and put your hearts in it!"
And they did. Old Hundred swelled up with a triumphant burst, and while it shook the rafters Tom Sawyer the Pirate looked around upon the envying juveniles about him and confessed in his heart that this was the proudest moment of his life.
As the "sold" congregation trooped out they said they would almost be willing to be made ridiculous again to hear Old Hundred sung like that once more.
Tom got more cuffs and kisses that day—according to Aunt Polly's varying moods—than he had earned before in a year; and he hardly knew which expressed the most gratefulness to God and affection for himself.

RG-I made a comment at the end of the last thread that you might want to look at about my experience that prosperous expanding areas of the south had come to grips and moved on in ways other parts of the country had not.
I think that was one of the reasons I was so shocked when I was at the rollout of the Metro Atlanta Equity Atlas and there were distinguished professionals discussing all the prejudice they had encountered and what must be done and assuming every existing white audience member had to have had slave owners in their past. Made me heartsick.

The Headline in the Washington Times story is a tad misleading:
Prosecutor to drop felony charge against Missouri governor
From the story:
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) — Prosecutors agreed to drop one of two felony criminal cases against Missouri Gov Eric Greitens after the governor’s attorneys said he would resign if the allegations were dismissed, a spokeswoman for St. Louis‘ top prosecutor said Wednesday.
So if I understand correctly Governor Greiten's wanted 2 allegations dropped, but the Prosecutor decided to drop only one, ergo I think a more honest headline would have been something like:
Prosecutor to drop one of two felony charges against Missouri governor

This is the email address that Mueller’s team caught Manafort using to conduct ongoing discussions with Konstantin Kilimnik last November (though Kilimnik’s side would have been accessible via a Section 702 served on Google).
The other warrant is one to obtain information relating to five AT&T phones.
In the Matter of the Search of Information Associated with Five Telephone Numbers Controlled by AT&T (D.D.C.) (18-sc-609).
In her order, ABJ explained that the government is only withholding the names of confidential sources and stuff pertaining to investigations other than the money laundering investigations currently pending against Manafort.
The government argues that the information that is currently being withheld fell within two categories: the names of confidential sources who had provided information to the government, and information relating to ongoing investigations that does not bear upon the allegations in either of the two cases now pending against Manafort.
An earlier filing explained that the second, AT&T, affidavit was obtained on March 9 and it covers “ongoing investigations that are not the subject of either of the current prosecutions involving Manafort.”
On April 4, 2018, the government produced in redacted form, and for the first time, an affidavit supporting a search warrant that had been obtained on March 9, 2018. That affidavit likewise contains redactions—albeit more substantial ones—relating to ongoing investigations that are not the subject of either of the current prosecutions involving Manafort.
As I believe others pointed out at the time, this would put it just a few weeks after Rick Gates pled on February 23, and so might reflect information obtained with his cooperation.
In her ruling, ABJ cited the last week’s hearing, suggesting that the phones still redacted in the affidavit materials might not be Manafort’s.

Quite frankly, RG, both sides make my butt itch.
Adapting to environment requires an ability to RESPOND to facts on the ground.
Did President Trump adapt his entire presidency to the Deep State's actions?
Did he do so out of red cape to the bull reactivity? Would never say that.
My obvious error here was using the term "react" rather than respond.
I think of DJT as a man with good instincts and with uncanny ability to react effectively against those who'd seek his destruction.
He is indispensable to the future of the Republic because he responds with full vigor and obvious forethought. GWB woulda been sacked long ago.

"We got ours. We want to continue to get ours. So we need a new generation of (house negroes, hang around the fort injuns, model minority asians, or salsa dancing cultural retards aka Hiz Panix) to make sure we continue to get ours. And theirs if we play our cards right."
Maxine's propaganda reads like so:
""We don’t think that he actually means to do harm, but we’re not sure he really understands the impact of what he’s saying, at the time that he’s saying it and how that weighs on, particularly the African-American community — and for young people in general," she added. "And I think maybe he should think twice about politics, and maybe not have so much to say."
"

Here are some more facts and another prediction.
We know for a fact Horowitz shared information of criminal corruption by the FBI/DOJ with Mueller. We know this is a fact because 1) that is what caused Strzok to get fired from the Mueller SC investigation and 2) the evidence of falsified 302 forms is probably what caused Mueller to agree to a delay in the Flynn sentencing (and most likely drop all charges against Flynn in the near future).
For almost a full year now Mueller has known that there was evidence of criminal corruption by multiple Obama officials. Mueller also knows that Trump and Sessions have access to this same information. If Mueller was a Black Hat trying to destroy Trump, he has known for a long time that there wasn't any evidence that actually supported any charge of wrongdoing on Trump's part. Despite all his nefarious and dastardly plans to help the Deep State destroy Trump, everything has pretty much blown up in his face. He can't prove Trump did anything wrong while Trump has plenty of evidence of wrongdoing on the part of Obama and the Deep State.
There doesn't appear to be a logical reason for the Mueller Russian collusion probe to still be going on so many months after Horowitz shared evidence of a crime with Mueller. If Mueller is a Black Hat then you could assume the investigation is still going on because Mueller is trying to protect the Democrats and the Deep State. If that is the case then OK so what? At this point IMO Mueller can do nothing to harm Trump. Impeaching Trump will only make Trump more popular plus it gives Trump and his lawyers the opportunity to use all the evidence of criminal activity by Obama officials as part of their defense strategy. Trump will never get convicted in the Senate so impeachment in the House is a win/win scenario for him. For all we know Trump might actually want to get impeached just like Obama probably hoped the GOP would impeach him.
On the other hand, we also know for a fact that Mueller has possession of the following: 1) evidence (some falsified 302s by the FBI) that Mueller already possessed that was used against LTG Flynn; 2) the evidence Horowitz shared with Mueller and 3) the established facts about McCabe's misconduct that were documented in the IG report.
IMO the reason the Mueller probe is still going on is because he has been waiting for the official release of the Horowitz IG report.
Knowing that Mueller possesses all of that evidence against McCabe, my prediction is that he will be the one to indict McCabe, not Huber.
Posted by: Tom R | May 30, 2018 at 07:22 PM

Closing the road means the course is shut down and its all business from now on. Booze, food, empolyees training, etc. It really is a big deal to bring one of these. Minority wins by toothskin should be hostile..
Wall Street banks have been handed $16 trillion in bailouts and other subsidies by the Federal Reserve and Congress at nearly zero percent interest since the 2008 financial collapse.
They have used this money, as well as the money saved through the huge tax cuts imposed last year, to buy back their own stock, raising the compensation and bonuses of their managers and thrusting the society deeper into untenable debt peonage.
Chris Hedges
Sheldon Adelson’s casino operations alone got a $670 million tax break under the 2017 legislation. The ratio of CEO to worker pay now averages 339 to 1, with the highest gap approaching 5,000 to 1. This circular use of money to make and hoard money is what Karl Marx called “fictitious capital.”
The steady increase in public debt, corporate debt, credit card debt and student loan debt will ultimately lead, as Nomi Prins writes, to “a tipping point—when money coming in to furnish that debt, or available to borrow, simply won’t cover the interest payments. Then debt bubbles will pop, beginning with higher yielding bonds.”
An economy reliant on debt for its growth causes our interest rate to jump to 28 percent when we are late on a credit card payment. It is why our wages are stagnant or have declined in real terms—if we earned a sustainable income we would not have to borrow money to survive.
It is why a university education, houses, medical bills and utilities cost so much. The system is designed so we can never free ourselves from debt.
However, the next financial crash, as Prins points out in her book Collusion: How Central Bankers Rigged the World, won’t be like the last one. This is because, as she says, “there is no Plan B.”
Interest rates can’t go any lower. There has been no growth in the real economy. The next time, there will be no way out. Once the economy crashes and the rage across the country explodes into a firestorm, the political freaks will appear, ones that will make Trump look sagacious and benign.

Beasts,
Ditto's brother. This nagging spittle between same ideological members here is bullshit. Everyone from OL to RG to TK to TomR all agree on the same primary subject but are stuck on minutae. I scroll on by those nit picking responses. Everyone is right and no one is wrong.
Lets firm it up. This is a witch hunt that eventually will burn a lot of people including Zippy.
Outside of that everyone is free to express themselves here but you guys are all on the same side.

Good points Tom R. I'm not sure Mueller is driven by logic as much as by revenge (in the form of 50% +1 house members a D in November, and the impeachment to the Senate -- however stillborn), but time will tell.

Good point, Beasts.

Kim has been working tirelessly to get a black woman pardoned from prison. He is not “worshipping” a celebrity, he is working with an American who is dedicated to prison reform in the black community.

Hey, Kevlar. I spent a nice chunk of my Memorial Day weekend stripping down, sanding and revarnishing my prize Shaw & Tenneys*. #
I don’t see you being varnished into the grain of anything.
*Bonus points and free booze for anyone besides Marlene who knows what I am talking about.
#You will take my Shaw & Tenneys when you pry them from my cold dead hands. (Not a hint).

Boatbuilder, a 14' johnboat came with my house (also a pond to float it in). Two summers of linseed oil later, the brand stamp on the oars resurfaced. I sanded around that. Never did put varnish on them. Just oiled them well every fall.

BB,
Use to canoe a lot back in my Michigan UP days and I do know a Shaw and Tenney reference.

There is no one better to represent the people of N.Y. and Staten Island (a place I know very well) than @RepDanDonovan, who is strong on Borders & Crime, loves our Military & our Vets, voted for Tax Cuts and is helping me to Make America Great Again. Dan has my full endorsement!

when i see the pessimists ragging on the optimists, i hear them saying "please tell me something to convince me to share your optimism as, believe me, i really would like to."
And when i hear the optimists respond, i hear them saying "guys, do you have any idea how much pain and effort it takes for me to be upbeat in the face of all the naysayers and trolls out there?!"
Meanwhile, i just chug along, loving this place, while surrounded on all sides by the enemy, and excommunicated by the kids i grew up with.
Is it 6 o'clock yet somewhere?? Lol

Very importantly, @RepDanDonovan will win for the Republicans in November...and his opponent will not. Remember Alabama. We can’t take any chances on losing to a Nancy Pelosi controlled Democrat!

RG, my friend (and, i mean that) - Wictor is calling for a national Racism Day where all of us are encouraged to hurl racist insults at each other.
And to 'put his money where his mouth is', he has invited the twitterverse to hurl racist insults at him.
see here:

no doubt he's as simplistic about this issue as i am but, fwiw, i really do feel strongly that there's a huge emperor's new clothes aspect to all of this guff: if instead we could just get back to seeing the basic stupidity of racial thinking (remember Flip Wilson's hilarious sketch about hating midgets?) maybe then we could get past it.
