Looking forward to seeing the employment numbers at 8:30 this morning.

Jim Eagle

Good Morning, JOM!

Your Latin Phrase of the Day:

Vires acquirit eundo.

Hopefully, it will apply to the IG report and the criminal conspiracy being unravelled.

MM,

Read that story about the black bear and the beagle. He wouldn't want to meet Lady, my girl beagle. She is fierce!

Captain Hate

Any more Repuke sellouts today?

Janet 🚬 - I wish my family had a poncho

(("Look everything is fine here, because if we keep looking we're going to destroy these Institutions."))

Comey is not "the FBI"
Brennan is not "the CIA"

Lerner wasn't "the IRS"

These are people that worked for OUR government agencies that did criminal things.
Prosecute them!

Quit the conflating of dirty individuals with the institution.

Captain Hate

Buck Sexton: Do you think Republicans may be complicit in helping essentially cover this up for the good of the Institution?

Andy McCarthy: Correct. Yes. Yes. That's exactly the way I should have put it. Yes.

Those bitches took an oath to defend the Constitution, not the FBI or Uniparty. They need to be removed from office ASAP.

Extraneus

Covering up to save the institutions is a b.s. excuse. Much more likely that Gowdy and Rubio are trying to save themselves.

Jim Eagle

So, how bad is the unemployment number? So bad that a number of firms are revising their drugs testing policy so they can generate a larger pool of recruits. Same with felon restrictions to be eased. May not be the kind of Winning I would agree with especially in the construction and skilled talent industry but its noticeable.

Its what is keeping the economy from the steady 3 to 3.5% GDP growth it should be achieving, IMO.

Janet 🚬 - I wish my family had a poncho

old comment from T_D about the MFM dis-info game -

"...They get to remove their skin from the game. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, it is a degree of separation and a barrier used in MSM memetics. It isn't "David Brock" who is spoken about in a news article - it is "Media Matters". MSM never names the PEOPLE involved in stories. They always go a level up to the corporate name, administrative agency name, college name, court name (why don't they ever name the judges or lawyers?). That way, you think you got the news, but you never got the names."

Buckeye

Those bitches took an oath to defend the Constitution, not the FBI or Uniparty. They need to be removed from office ASAP.

I think there are way too many of them.

(Maybe a better overnight post...)

Picked up a new iPad Pro yesterday. Looked it over and thought about it for a second, and again, marveled at the engineering. Very much less the software engineering which is fairly pedestrian stuff, but the electrical and especially the mechanical engineering.

A glass touchscreen, led display, circuit “board”, antennas for at least four radios (with attendant issues of interference and shielding), a battery, in an aluminum case, all in a package about a quarter inch thick. (And I suppose the ChemEs deserve a shoutout for the battery tech.)

Pretty damn amazing time we live in, folks. Please to take a moment to appreciate it.

We now return you to your original programming...

I mentioned this the other night but princess puddingbrains really is pushing the psychologically manipulative, the mind is an alterable system, PBIS as the solution for school shootings. https://content.govdelivery.com/accounts/USED/bulletins/1f41eb3 is the dept of ed announcement.

I started my blog years ago upset at the bo interpretation of the IDWA that forced PBIS on all schools in april 2012 and then later under an XO. And now trump's ed dept is accepting it as the solution for school shootings.

This is why paul sperry just mined my post for information but refused to mention the relevance of the PROMISE Program motto that is also grounded in the techniques of pbis.

Maybe devos could just confess to the american people she believes that templeton's positive neuroscience initiative is the solution as they are actually the same? Or that pbis is grounded in psychologist eric ericson's work so valjar's mom will be so pleased and also arne duncan.

FBI Spy Stefan Halper’s Media Contacts Could Pose A Problem, Retired FBI Officials Say

"...Law Enforcement Legal Defense Fund President Ron Hosko, a former assistant director of the FBI’s criminal investigative division, added that an informant’s interactions with the press could create circular reporting that would serve to make their information “appear more valuable or more true” than it actually is..."

Hmm. Steele anyone? DOJ FISA application anyone?

That should be IDEA-Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. The interp is that PBIS should be used on all students, not just those who were troubled, so that there was no demeaning treatment involved in who was targeted.

JiB I don’t get your 7:57. Unemployment rates under Trump have been going down and are now around 4%. I consider that a positive trend.

Are you saying that the unemployment rate number getting that low (below 4%) is actually bad in a counterintuitive way? The MAGA economy under Trump is booming, companies are expanding and wanting to hire more employees, but in order to hire the extra employees they need for their expanded operations they are having to hire people they normally would not (people who fail the drug test/ex-felons)?

Extraneus

Thanks for the Kim Strassel link, Captain. Who ever believed that excuse in the first place?

henry,

No Japanese fleet there. All CAT. MAGA.

TomR,

We have reached peak employment. That is what I was referring to and by relaxing drug testing policy and ex-felon restrictions it means we are running out of skilled workers. Without that level of skills in the workforce, there is no way you can generate the GDP this economy wants to produce. Better start up that immigration reform stat or we could slide into a recession.

WASHINGTON — Republican Rep. Ron DeSantis told a Senate Committee adviser that House Speaker Paul Ryan “put the leash” on the House Select Committee on Benghazi’s investigation into Hillary Clinton.

Rep. Trey Gowdy, who headed the Commission, and Rep. Jason Chaffetz, chairman of the House Oversight Committee, both confirmed to the adviser that Ryan effectively shut the investigation down, Big League Politics has exclusively learned.

And all three have mysteriously resigned from congress at the height of their power.

One of my favorite comedy routines from the last decade depicts a guy on a plane throwing a tantrum because the wifi goes out temporarily. "Dude! I don't remember who it was, and I'm only paraphrasing, but it was very well done. Probably on youtube somewhere.

henry,

That is an interesting JV of Gilbane and M+W. Gilbane is one of the great facility contractors around. Manufacturing plants a specialty. But M+W is actually the American subsidiary of Stumpf in Austria. That should be a tight run project. Will keep an eye on it through my contacts at Gilbane.

rse

https://www.strategy-business.com/article/Dont-Fight-Regulation-Reprogram-It?gko=c2f43&utm_source=itw&utm_medium=20180529&utm_campaign=resp is for henry especially.

The lawyers will appreciate its view of government and regulation as akin to creating the computer's operating system. People--there's nothing government cannot do to you in the 21st century in the name of public policy.

rse

From the conclusion--

"We anticipate the day when policymakers and industry leaders “sprint and scrum” together on new regulations, establishing consensus-driven collectives to develop new policies that participants can monitor and enforce. Business should evaluate these options to see if they are feasible alternatives to the traditional policymaking process. At the same time, public officials should identify corporate actions that they believe are not in the public interest and design incentives that discourage these practices.

Getting there may not be as difficult as it seems. When Bill Gates advocated for cooperation, his words reflected his long-standing personal experience. There is great value for both government and business in learning to strategically leverage regulatory frameworks as viable operating systems that foster innovation and competition while promoting the greater good."

henry

JiB, my impression is Foxconn doesn't screw around. Between the facility prep and all the highway work, it may be years before I can get a dump truck load of gravel to my place. (I'm exaggerating, but I don't want to check prices right now).

--And all three have mysteriously resigned from congress at the height of their power.--

At least we can have the utmost confidence that the FBI, CIA et al that they are defending would never use their power to corruptly interfere in politics or protect their feifdoms of power.

Jim Eagle

Ex,

DeSantis is running for Governor of Florida, so he has a good excuse. But Chaffetz left early (really suspicious) and Gowdy has changed his tun from skeptical ex-prosecutor to cheerleader for the Swamp! I agree, something going on since it is now 45 GOP incumbents who are not running this year.

Quit the conflating of dirty individuals with the institution

Alternately, if the left WANTS to conflate bad actors with the institutions that employ them, fine. Then the IRS isLerner, and CIA is Clapper and FBI is Comey, and the only course is to tear them down to the roots, fire everyOne, and then slowly (very slowly) and cautiously rebuild them with draconian rules on conduct and vicious, totally disproportionate punishments for employees who violate them.

James D.

No.

Just absolutely fucking no.

A Senate seat is not a goddamn inheritance.

U.S. Senate candidate Leah Vukmir on Thursday called for handing the U.S. Department of Education’s responsibilities back to the states, while GOP rival Kevin Nicholson said he would lessen the agency’s influence by curtailing some of its powers.

Ted Cruz humanizes the enemy. What a tool.

I agree; what does he expect to come out of this that's positive.

Trump has effectively opened my eyes to just how worthless the GOP has been, even people like Cruz. I've always known that it requires an out of control ego to run for elected office but Trump shows that if you put the country and adhering to the Constitution above the donor class and your party, good things will happen.

Beasts of England

Canada has treated our Agricultural business and Farmers very poorly for a very long period of time. Highly restrictive on Trade! They must open their markets and take down their trade barriers! They report a really high surplus on trade with us. Do Timber & Lumber in U.S.?

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

It's kind of amusing to watch the left, which uses evolution, both physical and psychological, to explain virtually every nuance of non human and human traits and behaviors, right down to the magical bills of finches in the Galapagos, go apoplectic when anyone even suggests that then logically it follows that there must be variations in human traits and behaviors due to the millions of tiny mutations in population groups, to the extent they even deny there are human races and instead call race a "social construct".
They are quite willing to yak about human-Neanderthal cross breeding and wax eloquent about future human evolution, but the inevitable ramifications of what they believe must be fanatically denied in the present.
Why?

Old Lurker

James, the CIA IS Brennan, and the DNI IS Clapper. And Congress IS McConnell and Ryan and Gowdy and Issa and Rubio and the rest, all before you even get to Pelosi & Schumer and the rest of the gang.

And now the Trump team IS Sessions and Wray and Rosenstein and, sad to say, all of the Obama people still in level two and three slots. and that is before getting to the foot soldier holdovers.

Raining to beat the band. Not the start to a Hampton's weekend the day-trippers and Summer colony will want. Had to run into the village and Hampton Bays for my Village and Town beach stickers. And at 0930hrs, the trade parade was still thousands of cars inching their way into Southampton, where we terminate the 4 lane route 27East highway. Then the same thousands of cars, vans, dumptrucks, cranes and heavy equipment have to fight their way out to the other vilages and hamlets.

It is the proverbial fitting of a 5 lb. bag with 15 to 20 lbs. Crazy. But by the time I left HB at 1000hrs. It was normal traffic. Go figure.

new thread

Man Tran

Re congresscritters bailing out, that evening we spent with Michelle Bachman a couple yrs ago revealed at least in her case that the system was so corrupt she had to leave for her own sake. Her problem was with the Tan Man, but it permeated the whole system. I suspect that it might be like being drawn into the mafia in an innocent way and then progressively being forced to do ever increasingly evil things. I can imagine a Gowdy type trying to do the right thing and the closer he gets to some consequential end point, the more pressure is put on him by the enforcers. Obviously, if there are compromising pix, it’s one thing, but Michelle said the whole process starting with fundraising was so compromising, you were being corrupted just by being there.
