OK, the notion that the Maltese Professor, Joseph Mifsud, is an asset or associate of Western intelligence agencies rather than the Russkies is taking hold. Obviously this is a BFD requiring a Maximum Cone of Silence from the Legacy Media since if we learn that the current pretext for the FBI Russian investigation was a British intelligence operation well, yikes - that will surely put the 'special' back in "special relationship".
My favorite part of the linked story is this non-denial denial:
In the January interview, Roh asked Mifsud if he was working for MI6. “No,” said Mifsud, “no, never, I was never an agent.”
Lawyers who think in terms of principals and agents may find that to be satisfactory. However, in the spy novels I read "agents" are folks like James Bond, with the extraordinary background and special training. "Assets" can be anyone recruited by the agents. For example, the other professor in the news, Stefan Halper, was an asset but not an agent.
Send better denials.

So, how bad is the unemployment number? So bad that a number of firms are revising their drugs testing policy so they can generate a larger pool of recruits. Same with felon restrictions to be eased. May not be the kind of Winning I would agree with especially in the construction and skilled talent industry but its noticeable.
Its what is keeping the economy from the steady 3 to 3.5% GDP growth it should be achieving, IMO.

old comment from T_D about the MFM dis-info game -
"...They get to remove their skin from the game. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, it is a degree of separation and a barrier used in MSM memetics. It isn't "David Brock" who is spoken about in a news article - it is "Media Matters". MSM never names the PEOPLE involved in stories. They always go a level up to the corporate name, administrative agency name, college name, court name (why don't they ever name the judges or lawyers?). That way, you think you got the news, but you never got the names."

Picked up a new iPad Pro yesterday. Looked it over and thought about it for a second, and again, marveled at the engineering. Very much less the software engineering which is fairly pedestrian stuff, but the electrical and especially the mechanical engineering.
A glass touchscreen, led display, circuit “board”, antennas for at least four radios (with attendant issues of interference and shielding), a battery, in an aluminum case, all in a package about a quarter inch thick. (And I suppose the ChemEs deserve a shoutout for the battery tech.)
Pretty damn amazing time we live in, folks. Please to take a moment to appreciate it.
We now return you to your original programming...

I mentioned this the other night but princess puddingbrains really is pushing the psychologically manipulative, the mind is an alterable system, PBIS as the solution for school shootings. https://content.govdelivery.com/accounts/USED/bulletins/1f41eb3 is the dept of ed announcement.
I started my blog years ago upset at the bo interpretation of the IDWA that forced PBIS on all schools in april 2012 and then later under an XO. And now trump's ed dept is accepting it as the solution for school shootings.
This is why paul sperry just mined my post for information but refused to mention the relevance of the PROMISE Program motto that is also grounded in the techniques of pbis.
Maybe devos could just confess to the american people she believes that templeton's positive neuroscience initiative is the solution as they are actually the same? Or that pbis is grounded in psychologist eric ericson's work so valjar's mom will be so pleased and also arne duncan.

JiB I don’t get your 7:57. Unemployment rates under Trump have been going down and are now around 4%. I consider that a positive trend.
Are you saying that the unemployment rate number getting that low (below 4%) is actually bad in a counterintuitive way? The MAGA economy under Trump is booming, companies are expanding and wanting to hire more employees, but in order to hire the extra employees they need for their expanded operations they are having to hire people they normally would not (people who fail the drug test/ex-felons)?

We have reached peak employment. That is what I was referring to and by relaxing drug testing policy and ex-felon restrictions it means we are running out of skilled workers. The lawyers will appreciate its view of government and regulation as akin to creating the computer's operating system. People--there's nothing government cannot do to you in the 21st century in the name of public policy.
Posted by: rse | June 01, 2018 at 09:07 AM
From the conclusion--
"We anticipate the day when policymakers and industry leaders “sprint and scrum” together on new regulations, establishing consensus-driven collectives to develop new policies that participants can monitor and enforce. Business should evaluate these options to see if they are feasible alternatives to the traditional policymaking process. At the same time, public officials should identify corporate actions that they believe are not in the public interest and design incentives that discourage these practices.
Getting there may not be as difficult as it seems. When Bill Gates advocated for cooperation, his words reflected his long-standing personal experience. There is great value for both government and business in learning to strategically leverage regulatory frameworks as viable operating systems that foster innovation and competition while promoting the greater good."

Alternately, if the left WANTS to conflate bad actors with the institutions that employ them, fine. Then the IRS isLerner, and CIA is Clapper and FBI is Comey, and the only course is to tear them down to the roots, fire everyOne, and then slowly (very slowly) and cautiously rebuild them with draconian rules on conduct and vicious, totally disproportionate punishments for employees who violate them.

It's kind of amusing to watch the left, which uses evolution, both physical and psychological, to explain virtually every nuance of non human and human traits and behaviors, right down to the magical bills of finches in the Galapagos, go apoplectic when anyone even suggests that then logically it follows that there must be variations in human traits and behaviors due to the millions of tiny mutations in population groups, to the extent they even deny there are human races and instead call race a "social construct".
They are quite willing to yak about human-Neanderthal cross breeding and wax eloquent about future human evolution, but the inevitable ramifications of what they believe must be fanatically denied in the present.
Why?

James, the CIA IS Brennan, and the DNI IS Clapper. And Congress IS McConnell and Ryan and Gowdy and Issa and Rubio and the rest, all before you even get to Pelosi & Schumer and the rest of the gang.
And now the Trump team IS Sessions and Wray and Rosenstein and, sad to say, all of the Obama people still in level two and three slots. and that is before getting to the foot soldier holdovers.

Raining to beat the band. Not the start to a Hampton's weekend the day-trippers and Summer colony will want. Had to run into the village and Hampton Bays for my Village and Town beach stickers. And at 0930hrs, the trade parade was still thousands of cars inching their way into Southampton, where we terminate the 4 lane route 27East highway. Then the same thousands of cars, vans, dumptrucks, cranes and heavy equipment have to fight their way out to the other vilages and hamlets.
It is the proverbial fitting of a 5 lb. bag with 15 to 20 lbs. Crazy. But by the time I left HB at 1000hrs. It was normal traffic. Go figure.

Re congresscritters bailing out, that evening we spent with Michelle Bachman a couple yrs ago revealed at least in her case that the system was so corrupt she had to leave for her own sake. Her problem was with the Tan Man, but it permeated the whole system. I suspect that it might be like being drawn into the mafia in an innocent way and then progressively being forced to do ever increasingly evil things. I can imagine a Gowdy type trying to do the right thing and the closer he gets to some consequential end point, the more pressure is put on him by the enforcers. Obviously, if there are compromising pix, it’s one thing, but Michelle said the whole process starting with fundraising was so compromising, you were being corrupted just by being there.
