The NY Times is unexpectedly fair and balanced in covering Trump's suspension of 'war games' with our South Korean ally.
Ending the joint military exercises could help Mr. Kim persuade his people, especially hard-line generals, to agree to denuclearize and focus on building the country’s poor economy, said Cheong Seong-chang, a senior analyst at the Sejong Institute in South Korea. Still, Mr. Trump’s announcement stunned many South Koreans.
Well, yes. Even iron-fisted dictators have to deal with rival factions. The NoKo military-industrial complex is surely at least as empowered as its US counterparts so this easily-reversed gesture may give Little Rocket Man some running room.
That said, heaven help us if Obama had tried something similar. And the usual questions remain as to whether Trump has the impulse control, patience and team-building skills to lead the US down this long and winding road.
But as Byron York notes, it is not as if the old playbook was producing yardage. C'mon, maybe one day historians will be writing about the Age of Trump, In a good way!

The ballot issue for carving California into 3 states is a stunt designed to force SackOtomatoes to deal with issues such as the water supply and taxation.
Voters can say whatever they want about it, but the voters will be met by the "all parties concerned" qualifier mentioned below:
"Finally, despite the ambiguous second semicolon in the clause, new states may be formed out of an existing state provided all parties consent: the new state, the existing state, and the Congress. In that way, Kentucky, Tennessee, Maine, West Virginia, and arguably Vermont came into the Union."

"I'll go out on a limb and say Trump is getting the briefing from Rosenstein because he trusts him."
I'll grant you a definite maybe.
I'll suggest POTUS, on the advice of counsel, is adhering to "the appearance of propriety." No need to fuel SC fires with more obstruction allegations because Rosita had somehow lost routine access, as a proxy Cabinet member in place of J.Beauregard Sessions, to POTUS; and, therefore could not execute the duly assigned duties to execute his so-called investigation.
And, finally, I'm not operating under the assumption that Rosita is the only briefing bunny in the land.

Q: How many transgenders does it take to change a light bulb?
A: Trick question. They’re incapable of actually changing it, and they never will, because their real goal is to scream at you as being responsible for the room being called “dark”. If you just socially accepted that the room with the broken bulb was lit, then it would be considered just as equally lit as if the bulb were functioning. Bigot.

ANyone watching that press conference would realize that he is way more controlled than his detractors constantly claim. His team-building skills are off the charts; as I have mentioned before, not only does he have a good grop of people on his teamin the White house and cabinet, but he has built a team out in the country, and they are exceptionally loyal to MAGA, as Terry Sanford found out.

Back from Shinnecock. Very wet, foggy, but lots of fans and there were at least 10 foursomes and threesomes out on the course. Tomorrow will be interesting. Softened greens and fairways but up to 30MPH wind gusts mostly the afternoon. IOW's being a sand soil course, it will dry out quickly and with the changing wind from the prevailing SW to a wicked WNW wind it will challenge the players since they haven't practiced in that wind.
It will mean moving the tees up on No. 6 since its a 245 carry and 30mph wind is a 3 club wind. We're going early tomorrow for Phil, Rory and Justin teeing off on No. 10. Moar later.

As he turned and left returning to his co-workers in the field, the Amish man went to his barn and turned his bull into the pasture.
As the bull rumbled toward the workers in the field, the Amish man hollered, "Show HIM your paper!"

And I loved Laura Ingraham's comment last night to Congressman Jordan and Meadows, when she joked that if Rosenstein subpoena'd the Intel Committee Staffers E-Mails and Phone Records you could be sure he wouldn't redact names like he's redacted by the thousands in the paltry handful of documents the Oversight Committees have received thus far.

That makes sense, and then it struck that a private citizen in our country has a plane better than what the Leader of North Korea has access to, and doesn't that say world's about the difference between the land of the free and most of the rest of the planet, and especially North Korea. Kim ought to be as envious of Trump the Private citizen as he is of Trump the President.

He got better ratings than Paula Zahn!
Roger Ailes set a tone for the post-Zahn era with a comment that quickly became legendary, in part with the help of Fox's on-air personalities. In an article about Zahn's firing, he minimized how she had improved ratings in her time slot while at Fox News Channel.

"I could have put a dead raccoon on the air this year and got a better rating than last year," Ailes told the New York Times.

Extraneus would be outraged if she allowed herself to have facts on

Thanks, JiB!! That's only the mid and high registers - the low register is magnificent!! I'll ask for the musical selections. No vocals at all - we had a trumpet for the procession and possibly the exit (recession?), but I was in another world by the time we all walked out and don't remember much at that point. lol
That's one of my two favorite golf courses in the country. I'd love to see it sometime... :)

"Nobel filed his first patent, an English patent for a gas meter, in 1857, while his first Swedish patent, which he received in 1863, was on 'ways to prepare gunpowder'. ... Nobel invented dynamite in 1867, a substance easier and safer to handle than the more unstable nitroglycerin.
Alfred Nobel - Wikipedia"
Donald Trump- somehow in light of Nobel's achievement than The Rat's "just show up" slack-jawed lassitude.

Does anyone expect Brennan to be implicated in the IG report on the DoJ/FBI investigation of Hillary's email server?

Racoons on our land have a small lab in the back corner where, during the wee hours of the morning, they don their white lab coats and dynamometer test the cars they build.
Noisy fuckerz.

Ext,
Thanks for that link on Judge Sullivan and Judicial Watch, re: Hillary's E-Mail excuses.
Aren't we still waiting for Judge Sullivan to take action on Mueller's refusal to provide the background material that may prove exculpatory in the General Flynn Guilty Plea? If anyone has an update on when we'll hear about that please post it, since it's hard to keep up with all the things coming out shortly.

The extent of Barry Seal's involvement with the CIA in the 1980s has provided fuel for speculation and conspiracy theories. As author Del Hahn states in his book about Barry Seal's life, Smuggler's End: The Life and Death of Barry Seal, there is no evidence to support claims that Barry Seal worked for the CIA. Hahn was part of the task force that pursued Seal in the 1980s. In his book, he uses case documents and first-person accounts to dispel this idea and other half-truths about Seal.
However, some still allege the opposite, that the government turned a blind eye to Seal's drug running in order to use him to deliver weapons to the Nicaraguan rebels. Basically, Seal would fly over the guns and smuggle back drugs on his return trip. It's certainly possible and it's what the movie proposes. Yet, it's also certainly possible that Seal had no involvement with the CIA in the early 1980s at all, given there is nothing to support the claim but rumors. In the least, his exploits with the CIA and agent Monty Schafer in the movie are largely fictional and based on speculation. In his research for the book, the only confirmed connection Hahn could make between the CIA and Barry Seal was in 1984, after Seal had started working as an informant for the DEA..

Brennan will likely be mentioned frequently in the Horowitz IG report on FISA abuse/spying on Trump. He is just one example of a Democrat acting desperate lately. Then again labelling Brennan a Democrat could be a mistake on my part. Substitute Communist if you prefer.

I don't know that Mueller refused the order. Both parties agreed that whatever exculpatory material Flynn received would not be made public by Flynn. The order also required that if there was anything potentially exculpatory but Mueller decided it needn't be turned over, must be handed to the Judge to decide.

Beasts,
Shinnecock is the finest golf course I have ever played and not being a homeboy. I have played them all, St. Andrews, Augusta, Seminole, Carnoustie, Olympic and Pebble. All great but not the same. Different routing. topography, wind, soil, character, etc.
All who watch it tomorrow thru Sunday will see why it is what it is. Magical and true to the test of a championship. Plus tomorrow, Dave (InMa) gets to watch his favorite sporting event as Russia kicks off the World Cup of Kickball playing the Saudis.
