Apparently the latest from the border is that 'zero tolerance' will be implemented with 'zero coordination' and 'zero competence':
President Trump’s executive order to halt family separations unleashed confusion in Washington and at the Mexico border Thursday, as U.S. Customs and Border Protection said it would stop referring such cases for prosecution and migrant parents arrived at courthouses in Texas and Arizona wearing handcuffs only to be led away without facing charges.
After a senior Customs and Border Protection official told The Washington Post that the agency would freeze criminal referrals for migrant parents who cross illegally with children, Justice Department officials insisted that their “zero tolerance” policy remained in force and that U.S. attorneys would continue to prosecute those entering the United States unlawfully.
On Capitol Hill, a hard-line immigration bill failed to pass and a key vote on a more moderate version of the legislation was postponed. The Pentagon, meanwhile, agreed to house up to 20,000 unaccompanied migrant children on military bases in coming months. And despite the ongoing outcry over the separation of more than 2,300 migrant children from their parents since May 5, Trump administration officials gave no assurances that the families would be swiftly reunited.
In scenes reminiscent of the botched “Muslim ban” in the early days of the Trump presidency, federal agencies Thursday were largely left to interpret the sudden changes ordered by the White House the day before and figure out how to implement them. A family separation system that had been planned and tested over several months vanished at the president’s pen, with no stated plan to reverse its effects.
Administration officials held a meeting Thursday evening to grapple with the conflicting understandings of what the executive order was meant to do. People familiar with the discussions said the president had indicated his main goal was to lessen the public controversy surrounding separated families. Within the administration, however, the two main agencies tasked with following the order interpreted it very differently. The Justice Department filed court papers seeking permission from a judge to detain families together; Customs and Border Protection officials initially decided the order meant adults apprehended with children should be released, these people said.
The administration’s about-face leaves intact its “zero tolerance” policy toward those who break the law, but the senior Customs and Border Protection official, asked to explain how the government would change enforcement practices, said Border Patrol agents were instructed to stop sending parents who arrive in the United States illegally with children to federal courthouses for prosecution.
“We’re suspending prosecutions of adults who are members of family units until ICE [Immigration and Customs Enforcement] can accelerate resource capability to allow us to maintain custody,” the official said, speaking on the condition of anonymity to explain how the agency has interpreted and implemented Trump’s order.

'Zero tolerance' is nonsense term for a shift from 'illegal immigrants with kids go free'. Of course the deep state wants to backtrack to 'illegal immigrants with kids go free'.
Seems clear from non-fake news that the executive order does not intend that 'illegal immigrants with kids go free'.

the dollars held as reserve stand at about 65% of the world total dwarfing everyone else. the nearest competition the Euro is about 20%, and for the data set I found, it is less than the sum of the individual currencies back a decade or so ago (people held marks and francs)-but this is a minor difference. after that bit of throat clearing ... the dollar as a reserve currency has costs and benefits. the cost is the mercantilism of Europe and Asia and a benefit is low and stable interest rates. however, nothing prevents KSA from selling oil (a single example) in any currency-including gold and silver-to any buyer they would like to do business with. Aramco sells oil in yen, won, dollars, and euros ... the point being, their cost structure is overwhelmingly dollars as the industry is overwhelmingly dollars. this is another benefit which accrues to us-seigniorage.

Jeanine Pepler, the publicist who represented novelists Jay McInerney and Candace Bushnell, hanged herself Sunday night in her home in Sag Harbor, LI, taking her life the same way Kate Spade and Anthony Bourdain did earlier this month. Sources say she was 50.
Pepler, who was raised and educated in Cape Town, South Africa, arrived in New York in 1996 and worked in public relations with the likes of Tina Brown, Michael Eisner, Julian Schnabel and Julie Taymor.
Friends said her body was discovered by her boyfriend, artist Steve Miller. “He is just devastated, as are we all,” said one. “She seemed to be doing great. They had a lot of plans for the future.”

A video has emerged online which shows a French-speaking priest slapping a crying toddler during a baptism. A shocked father grabs the child out of the clergyman’s arms.
The incident took place inside a church during a baptism ceremony, as seen in footage that emerged on Wednesday. Visibly scared, the toddler is crying, which apparently annoys the clergyman. After he fails to calm the child down, the priest ends up slapping the child, uttering the words “Calm down” in front of the toddler’s surprised and shocked parents. For a few moments, they look speechless but the father then grabs his child out of the priest’s arms.

Shakira fans were shaking their heads after spotting what appeared to be a Nazi-like symbol on a necklace for sale on the singer's fan website. The $9.99 gold pendant necklace was meant to promote the star's “El Dorado World Tour," which kicked off in early June.
German news site Bento was among the first media outlets to point out the offensive souvenir, saying it was inscribed with the "Black Sun," a symbol designed by Nazis.
"The symbol conceals three crossed swastikas - or twelve sieves arranged in a circle," the news outlet reported.
Angry fans soon began to post side-by-side shots of the "Black Sun" symbol and the one displayed on Shakira's merchandise.

More paper money cannot make a society richer, of course, – it is just more printed-paper. Otherwise, why is it that there are still poor countries and poor people around? But more money makes its monopolistic producer (the central bank) and its earliest recipients (the government and big, government-connected banks and their major clients) richer at the expense of making the money's late and latest receivers poorer.

“It should be obvious then that and why libertarians must be moral and cultural conservatives of the most uncompromising kind. The current state of moral degeneration, social disintegration and cultural rot is precisely the result of too much – and above all erroneous and misconceived – tolerance. Rather than having all habitual democrats, communists, and alternative lifestylists quickly isolated, excluded and expelled from civilisation in accordance with the principles of the covenant, they were tolerated by society. Yet this toleration only encouraged and promoted even more egalitarian and relativistic sentiments and attitudes, until at last the point was reached where the authority of excluding anyone for anything had effectively evaporated (while the power of the state, as manifested in state sponsored forced integration policies, had correspondingly grown).”

I'm sorry, what exactly is the problem?
A study says that marriage for gay men and lesbians is more dangerous than smoking.
The Family Research Institute, a Colorado based think-tank well-known for their anti-gay views, studied same-sex marriages in Denmark and Norway.
It claims that engaging in “homosexual behaviour” reduces life span by up to 24 years.
In contrast, the lifespan of a smoker is only 7 years shorter than that of a non-smoker.
Dr Paul Cameron said at the convention of the Eastern Psychological Association: “What justification is there for condemning smoking and endorsing homosexuality?
“Today, all across the Western world, school children are being taught the acceptability of homosexuality and the wrongness of smoking.”
The research found that in Denmark, where gay marriage was legal between 1990 and 2002, married heterosexual men died at an average age of 74.
The 561 married gay men died at an average age of 51.

"GMO" or some crap was the excuse, basically the Canada dairy association got a new law passed. It was pure protectionism on Canada's part. Not in response to anything.

A vivid image of "hay balls" in national yellow and blue made by Swedish farmers in support of their national team during the FIFA World Cup in Russia has triggered the ire of leftists, who minced no words when accusing the innocent supporters of racism.
To support their national football team during the ongoing World Cup in Russia, Torpshammar natives Per Johan Andersson and his wife Katrine created a vibrant image of a national flag made of hay sacks and posted it on Facebook. While welcomed by thousands of buoyant Swedish fans, the image also inspired "anti-racists" to fill the comments section with hatred against the farmer and his wife.
In addition to being a tribute to team Sweden, the installation was a support initiative against childhood cancer, which didn't stop the activists from verbally assaulting the patriotic farmer. One particular person went so far as to write "I knew that all the damn farmers were racists." https://sputniknews.com/viral/201806221065654981-sweden-football-racism/

I hate Forbes paywall, but they get this one right.
But doing so required further tasking our sales-tax processing company at, for us, a very high price, to process yet an additional state's sales tax payments. It also led, as I discovered to my horror, to our needing to file a corporate tax or gross receipts tax return in each of the 6 states, annual reports in several of the 6 states, reports in several states about workers compensation and unemployment insurance and a variety of "small" fees. The compliance cost of hiring the sales-tax processing company, paying our accountant and responding to the weekly and sometimes daily letters about filing this form or that is already costing my company $50,000 a year.

The most interesting thing in this article is a reporter's description of the Duluth rally, which I am going to post here because I want to make sure it isn't missed:
"At least 25 percent of the audience was under the age of 30, and around 40 percent were women. The senior citizen percentage was less than 10 percent — the lowest I’ve ever seen at a Republican event. Other than the hundred or so party leaders, this was a vastly different crowd from the Minnesota Republican Convention that I attended in Duluth three weeks ago. None of the attendees I spoke with in the concession line at the rally were politically active (other than voting) and none were born-and-bred Republicans," Root wrote.
"My big takeaway is that the atmosphere made Trump’s words almost irrelevant — and I mean that as a compliment. Trump understands emotion unlike any other politician I’ve followed. He stages his delivery with plenty of smiles, frequent claps (to the audience) and the longest walk to and from the podium I’ve ever seen. The two big differences between Trump and the usual politician are that (1) Trump never asks the audience for anything other than to be happy, and (2) Trump’s shtick is received as 100 percent authentic. Until I saw it last night, I never would have believed that a one-hour political speech could capture a 10,000-strong crowd from start to finish. A Trump rally is the one political event where you have to be in the room where it happens to understand how it works."

Does anyone trust the ICE, etc, to not try to embarrass Trump?
Not for one second.

Governor Henry McMaster is a truly fine man who loves the People of South Carolina. He was one of my very early supporters and truly helped me to a Big South Carolina Victory. I will see you all in S.C on Monday and Vice President Pence will be there for Henry on Saturday!

I had a strange experience yesterday. The auto shop business that my grandfather stated in 1945 and that my cousin now owns went in up flames yesterday. I watched in real time the pictures that the local paper in New Hampshire posted on their website. The fire moved fast and consumed the garage. My cousin's dog Hemingway alerted my cousin to the fire and he grabbed the laptop with all the business information and ran out. He sustained some burns that were treated. He told the local paper that the worst part was the loss of pictures, dating back to our grandfather and his father (my uncle) when they owned the garage. My sister told me that my aunt and uncle arrived at the scene of the fire and police tried to keep them back. My aunt said,"like hell,my son is in there." Later in the day,my sister went to see our uncle and asked how he was feeling. In that iconic New England way he said,"I'm fine,I took my heart pill today." Ha,sounds just like him.

Marlene, sorry about losing that piece of family history, but good your cousin wasn't seriously injured.

Marlene,
I am so sorry to hear that, but am glad your cousin is ok.
How very strange to watch something like that on your computer!

Congresswoman Martha Roby of Alabama has been a consistent and reliable vote for our Make America Great Again Agenda. She is in a Republican Primary run-off against a recent Nancy Pelosi voting Democrat. I fully endorse Martha for Alabama 2nd Congressional District!

Going to get some stuff done here. Back after while.

"At least 25 percent of the audience was under the age of 30, and around 40 percent were women.
I think the MFM is overplaying their hand.
Despite the continuous stream of brainwashing kids are subjected to, they aren't stupid. They are focused on their self interest.
They see things rapidly improving under Trump, and a growing number are revolting against their MFM "handlers".
I see this as a good sign

Okay, this is supposed to be a travel day, I'm way behind, and I'm feeling lazy as hell. So . . . I'm going to vegetate here a bit just because. I'm taking a look at the current thread (TM still baiting, I see) before going back for a quick review of yesterday afternoon / evening.

Rich, I'll need to process that financial answer at 12:26 a.m. -- it's just not registering with me right now.

should work on catch up ... ig report was a dud; coup plotters walking free; trump allies jailed ... still working my shitty job; not enough beer for the hangover i need ...
this calls for some kjom

Rich, I think you're flying blind here. Anyone saying that report was a dud is seriously missing what is going on here with this series of reports.
* * *
Trump/Sessions/Rosenstein/Horowitz/Huber . . . they are merely / wisely / strategically priming the pump in that first report, much like Trump is with his rallies where he keeps making the point we need more Republicans in Congress *and* the Republicans in the Upper Chamber need to get rid of the filibuster in the Senate.
Faith and patience.

marlene,
Sorry to hear about your cousin's business but glad no one was injured past some minor burns.
Getting ready for our school visiting, summer camp, traveling starting tomorrow on the Cross Sound Ferry to New London. Then up to Oakdale/Montville for St. Thomas More school. From there to New Haven for Frederick's drop-off at Yale on Sunday. 3 more school visits from there. Have no idea when we will be back.
Choosing a school that fits a certain kid can be daunting.

Jane,my cousin was working on a car and something sparked and started the fire. The location is in the general seacoast area. The mutual aid fire trucks came from several communities.
He is a cousin I babysat when he was a baby. I feel so old. :)
