Even the flailing NY Times felt obliged to admit the IG report was not all roses and chocolate for Hillary supporters and Trump bashers.
Report Gives Trump an Opening, but Undercuts His Narrative
WASHINGTON — The report that had much of Washington buzzing on Thursday required 500 pages to outline its findings, but to President Trump, three words mattered most — “we’ll stop it.”
Those were the words that a senior F.B.I. agent texted in August 2016 to a colleague who was worried that Mr. Trump would win the election. For the president, that text seemed to validate his claim of a “deep state” conspiracy out to get him.
But the same inspector general report also undercut Mr. Trump’s narrative. Whatever the agent, Peter Strzok, meant, the F.B.I. did not “stop” Mr. Trump, nor did the inspector general find evidence it tried. To the extent that the F.B.I. and its director at the time, James B. Comey, did anything wrong in 2016, according to the report, it was to the disadvantage of Mr. Trump’s opponent, Hillary Clinton.
Yeah, yeah. This will not satisfy either side. Not to suggest I have any idea what would.
DoJIG Impression, after 48 hours.
Initial reaction, huge disappointment.
Then, after two days of everybody reading the actual words, piles and piles of evidence of extensive bias and malfeasance by the FBI and the DoJ in all matters related to Clinton, and Clinton v Trump, all designed to move the fight directly to v Trump (coup).
So temptation is "yipee, there IS stuff here".
Reality sets in. The IG stretched the obvious so far past the breaking point, and worked SO HARD to bury the dirt deep in the forest of gibberish he wrote, and worked SO HARD to justify his non-duty to "judge" or to inform We the People of the big picture reality that was, and took SO LONG to work up his Non-Reveal, that it is inescapable that he did not see his job as pretending to look but then to whitewash what he found, knowing his efforts would work except for the kooks at places like JOM.
Sessions words before the release mentioning the reassurance the people will get it that what they suspected had not happened, reinforces the thoughts of some :-) that he is and has been in it all along. Stating "this ain't over (Huber, etc.)" to me is just Sessions saying "let's see if the fools will fall for it again...".
Three analogies:
Lawyers for one litigant are forced to disclose some papers. So they load up two tractor trailers with banker's boxes of documents and ship them to opposing counsel.
Second analogy: Anything written by Andrew McCarthy in the last ninety days, after it dawns on him that his drinking buddies and pals had suckered him big time for two years and he covered for them. Post dawning, his current writings are so long and convoluted that one has to hold them upside down to a mirror to discover that he now sees that he was played.
Third: the old joke about the hot air ballooner attempts to cross from London to Paris, gets lost in a storm and finally lands in a field. He asks the farmer "where am I???" and the farmer proceeds to tell him "you are under a 120' White Oak tree, on the eastern side of a 4.2 acre field growing alfalfa, in a field surrounded by a fence consisting of rocks collected by my ancestors on one side and with wooded rails collected from trees that fell in the forest...

That Vette looks like garbage. Being fiberglass it will clean up relatively easily but an automatic 327/300 isn't exactly anything exotic so I'm not seeing what the big deal is about.

Captain Hate,
That's why I count on you guys to assess articles like that.
I had no idea about value, condition, or anything else. This is why I sold antique glassware and such - it's stuff I understood.

ditto, Cap'n on the vette. As the report says, fully restored and in pristine condition, it might be worth $150k. Might cost $149k to get it there.

Democrats can fix their forced family breakup at the Border by working with Republicans on new legislation, for a change! This is why we need more Republicans elected in November. Democrats are good at only three things, High Taxes, High Crime and Obstruction. Sad!

My supporters are the smartest, strongest, most hard working and most loyal that we have seen in our countries history. It is a beautiful thing to watch as we win elections and gather support from all over the country. As we get stronger, so does our country. Best numbers ever!

I have removed the picture of the actor that portrayed the infamous Jake La Motta in the Raging Bull from my Raging Weatherbull videos ( new one out already this morning on the gulf) and replaced it with the real pic of Jake LaMotta.

--the agents thought that they might find so much classified information on unauthorized servers and systems that they would become lost in the maze.--
Employees at State & the National Archives should also be in trouble. If the SoS wasn't archiving her stuff...didn't anyone notice THAT?
What's the use of paying people to do that job if they don't even do it?
Are other Fed. employees totally 'off the grid'?
Would archiving employees know?

and on reviewing Weiner's computer..
That was always a sketchy point.
Clinton emails took & are taking YEARS to review...but ol' Weiner's computer info was supposedly found, reviewed & cleared in like 5 minutes.

Janet, we are the citizens of Rome just before the fall. We are being fed bread and entertained by circuses so that we will not see what is happening around us, lest we rise up and stop it before it is too late.

The IG Report totally distroys James Comey and all of his minions including the great lovers, Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, who started the disgraceful Witch Hunt against so many innocent people. It will go down as a dark and dangerous period in American History!

Heck of a bar story, jim nj! Having about a decade of bar experience, I've witnessed and heard plenty of scams, but not that one!!
Thanks, Catsmeat and Buckeye. Cash deal, for sure. I just don't know where to go for a number. My accountant made my head spin when he started going through the process, when I was just asking for a multiplier, i.e., 3x annual net, or something like that.
Without revealing the actual figures - and not bragging in any way - I've already put in my pocket more than what I paid for the place, and I've sunk almost twenty grand back into it for improvements. So, I could close the doors today and be ahead...

I'd be very surprised if there weren't a WH staffer who reads ten or so of the right-leaning legal / political blogs. There are too many of their themes (and sometimes it seems like quotes from actual comments) I've seen here, or Althouse, or Ace, for it to be a coinkydink.

BINGO and EXACTLY why I have been so persistent in putting words to my frustrations (including of Trump as CEO of the DoJ), and why I fight with my friends here when to me they are sounding too accepting.
In my dream world I hope that reader upstreams the message that "these are good and loyal supporters of Trump and MAGA, but that support can and might be fraying for reasons X, Y, and Z. True they can say "where they gonna go" and they would be right, but Trump's ego, thankfully, will probably not accept that.

Kev, I see the dude at the farmers market, I approach his little tent, he's got old Mama and some 20 something reading a book with him. I hear his singing, and it's BAD....real bad. "Handle me with care" Traveling Wilbury's. He singing and 2 voices are coming out of his speakers. One singer, 2 voices. Bad yodeling a la Roy Orbison. I approach. He's got $1 in his tip jar. I took the dollar and made change. REAL BAD.
