And tells me that it's never ever, safe to overtake.
It tells me when a light is red, and when it goes to green

Chloë: Okay. So, you've insulted my home town. You were doing really well, Raymond. Why don't you tell me some Belgium jokes while you're at it?
Ray: Don't know any Belgium jokes, and if I did I think I'd have the good sense not to... hang on. Is Belgium with all those child abuse murders lately? I do know a Belgium joke. What's Belgium famous for? Chocolates and child abuse, and they only invented the chocolates to get to the kids.
[Ray sees Chloë's shocked expression]
Ray: What?
Chloë: One of the girls they murdered was a friend of mine.
Ray: [after a long pause, feeling bad] I'm sorry, Chloë.
Chloë: One of the girls they murdered wasn't a friend of mine. I just wanted to make you feel bad. And it worked! Quite well.

It’s a Kim Win from the start. No Wimpy be he; he’ll gladly trade the USS Pueblo on a Tuesday for a Pyongyang McDonald’s today.

There are a lot of retail stores that seem to be built on Chinese production methods.
I have a vague memory of visiting a "Five Below" store a few years ago. Every time I looked at a label the product was designed and marketed by a US company, but was manufactured in China.
I had been intending all night to do a nuanced take on the G-7 Meeting. All kinds of insights and analysis. A give and take piece on all the players and what they hoped to accomplish there.
So here it is - eyebrow embarrassed everyone in attendance with his post-conference remarks.
Trump was right to criticize him, because anyone who agreed with eyebrow put a target on themselves.
Trump did his best to get along, even though he knew they were going to target him.
And who in the world thought to invite the EU people? The EU has no seat at the table.
So, there is no need to be nuanced. Trump needs to take out Eyebrow. Apologize to the Canadians for the actions we now need to take, but your PM is a back-stabber and unreliable, and we're sorry, but you elected him, so it's your fault that you suffer from our new tariffs.

When commonsense suggested prudence and a more neutral position, Trudeau-Freeland decide to confront Trump and the US delegation. Pure insanity. By the way, Maria Bartiromo had aterrific interview with the past Canadian Prime Minmister, Stephen (?) Harper, on her latest Sunday show. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XITb1pCFAdA

In response to @MajorCBS, Pompeo declines to say if US willing to withdraw its forces from South Korea as part of a deal with North Korea. But is quick to caution reporters not to draw any conclusions about his unwillingness to say yes or no to that question.
"The President’s fully prepared for the meeting tomorrow," says @SecPompeo of the Trump summit with Kim Jong-un. Pompeo tells reporters he's "very optimistic" the summit with have a successful outcome.
I have to find that video of Pompeo. The New York Times wrote an article today saying that Trump was going into the negotiations with no nuclear experts. Pompeo made a point of listing all of the nuclear experts they have with them.
Apparently the Times is now just making crap up withott caring if they are caught or not.

The unraveling of G-7 summit works in NK’s favor as @realDonaldTrump will not want to bust up 2 summits in a row lest people conclude he is the problem. Increases incentive for Kim to up his asks and limit his compromises and for Trump to do the opposite. Hardly the ideal context.

Always remember that #trump is essentially a humbug, a fraud, a con man, a bunco artist, etc. He can never admit error, or the whole illusion dissipates. What a travesty of “leadership.”
I really wonder what the realist school of international relations means
Political realism emphasizes the role of the nation-state and makes a broad assumption that all nation-states are motivated by national interests, or, at best, national interests disguised as moral concerns.
Walt must be a never, never, Trumper, because it seems as if Trump is practicing what political realism preaches, only more openly.

In the U.S., I've gotten away with stealing a chair, from a pub, and I was caught, but ESCAPED, when the COPS, saw me with a UNPAID-FOR bar stool, in WHITEWATER WISCONSIN. The COP, got a little aggressive, and that was HIS mistake.
Heh heh.

That's one of Bill Cosby's old jokes. He and some guy were caught by a cop during the Watts Riot carrying a couch. They convinced him they were psychologists making a house call.

Kev,
I remember an article from years ago. Walmart called in the Rubbermaid company and told them how to price their product.
Rubbermaid said we can't make a profit at that price. Walmart responded that they could get them made elsewhere for less.
While liberals like to rail against Walmart for other issues, we should note that Walmart has done that same thing to a lot of American manufacturers.
Posted by: jim nj | June 11, 2018 at 02:38 AM
At one point in WalMart's history their profit margin was equal to our trade deficit with Communist China.

Stephen Walt believes in political realism.
