Buckeye

If it was my call, somebody would be cleaning out Wray's office right now.

Miss Marple the Deplorable

I lost my feed, but I am not going back to get it. What a smug, insufferable asshat this guy is!

Who recommended him to Trump? How did he get hired?

I am madder now than I was when I read the report.

Committee to Re- Elect the President*

Kevlar must be one of those couch-bound, jabbering Hutts Trump derides.

Captain Hate

So if there's even the slightest hint of a fig leaf, we're not complaining.

You realize that making in retrospect poor decisions at the workplace criminal acts is something a totalitarian state would do. Lacking documents specifically stating the fix was in, tanking Rodham's case was going to be almost impossible to prove.

I'll defer to what Levin says about this but right now I agree with daddy that this is a huge disappointment. We were promised transparency in this administration and right now Sessions, Rodentstein, Wray and the rest of those fuzznuts are acting like a bunch of sneaky little underhanded shitstains.

Kevlar Kid

Hey OL:

I still don't give two shits given the second point.

Wray just gave us the back of his hand.

Kevlar Kid

Paw tells me Wray has been trained using the same model contractors have been using with Federal agencies since at least the 80s.

"Every time your agency craps the bed, plead humility, vow to learn, refuse to comment, commend the 9 trillion employees not mentioned in the "complaint", and call for more spending, er, training so this never ever never happens again."

Here's your six figure salary and commendation.

Understand that my default bias is strong law enforcement support. I root for law enforcement. I don’t want to think ill of FBI. But this press conference won’t do, as far as I’m concerned.

"lessons learned" will not help restore reputation here - FBI Wray is coming across badly imo.

Cathy Handford

Chris Wray is wrong. I live far away from the hub of FBI workings, in “Small Town”, Alabama. In the past I admired the FBI and was confident in its ability to always get the bad guys. But this year-the bad guys became Americans with the same political views as my own.

Only a police-state liberal would blow off an FBI willing to take “official action” to stop Trump from becoming the POTUS.

Wray:

Third, we are going to make sure that we have the policies, the procedures, and the training that are needed for everyone to understand (that we aren't supposed to lie, cheat, dissemble, be less than fucking full of candor) what is expected of all of us. (Seriously, this is pathetic) That includes drilling home the importance of objectivity, of avoiding even the appearance of conflicts of interest or political bias in our work. Ensuring that recalls are handled correctly and effectively and communicated to all the right people.

Making all of our employees fully aware of our Media contacts (No leaking like sieves or sleeping with 26 year old reporters from the Times) and making painfully clear that we will not tolerate non-compliance. W=Ensuring that we follow all DOJ policies on Public Statements on public statements about uncharged conduct or ongoing investigations, and ensuring that our employees adore strictly to all policies and procedures about the use of FBI systems, networks, and devices. (That would explain why you guys had no problem with Hillary using private phons and being criminal lackadaisical as hell since you did the same on a daily basis) I have also directed our Associate Deputy Director to lead a review of how the FBI candles sensitive investigations, and to make recommendations on how those should be staffed, structured, and supervise in the future, so that every sensitive investigation is conducted to the FBI's highest standards. We are also going to blah, blah , blah to gage our progress in these areas.

KK, I don't look at it as an "I told you so" contest no matter whether one is a slogger, ledger, veranderer, 5-D chesser or whatever. My concern is simple: I think it is unrealistic to think that those at the Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton, James Clapper, John Brennan, Valerie Jarrett, Loretta Lynch, Barack Obama, James Comey or Robert Mueller level will be called to account through an indictment. Strzok, Page, or McCabe? Maybe, but I doubt it. I keep stating this because I hope that when the indictments that I don't think have a chance of happening don't happen, my friends here who were a little more optimistic than me don't get discouraged and lose sight of the progress that has been made. The Trump Administration I think will modulate the one world nonsense and be the basis of limited reform at FBI/DOJ/CIA. It already has been the vehicle for significant tax and regulatory reform, has several promising foreign policy initiatives, and is the vehicle for some restoration of sanity in the federal courts. It is not going to tame the entitlement state, and those at the top directing abuses over the last 8 years, if brought to account, will be brought to account in ways not involving a Club Fed. I don't view pointing out indications that this is a slog and not a complete power washing as saying I told anyone so.

Gowdy and Goodlatte on now.

daddy

Wray:

It was only a couple bad apples who did this stuff mentioned in the IG report. We're going to learn and get better and stronger. But in the last few months I've visited a million FBI agents all over the world and they are wonderful and inspiring. Golly we're good. So I'm going talk about how wonderful we are from here on out so daddy doesn't have to transcribe the BULLSHIT dribbling out of my mouth any more today.

maryrose

Gowdy chews out Wray
Goodlatte ——Hillary got special treatment

glenda

Well, Christopher Wray---G-man has the charisma of a gnat....but compared to the clueless, arrogant, lying & psycho?? @comey...his numbing presence is a start.

Now, if DOJ's lost AG and his poor excuse DOG, er...DAG, RR; would emigrate to Elba or voluntarily frog-march out of D.C.---The bar tab for the celebration is on me 🎉🇺🇸

Why aren't Sally Yates, Page-Stroker, Ohr, Comey, Abedin, Clinton, GPS, McCain, Warner, Podesta-DNCetc. under indictment for fraud, perjury, obstruction--and yes, bordering on seditious actions?

maryrose

Gowdy:
Bitterly disappointing report.

Miss Marple the Deplorable

I am opening a bottle of wine. I may drink the whole thing.

daddy

I will note that Wray did not say squat about eliminating the bogus 302 hand written notes and no taping of interviews that is the source of so much corruption in so many cases that we are all aware of, so same old, same old.

maryrose

Gowdy:
Bias was insidious and invasive

clarice feldman

Tom Lipscomb Don’t anticipate....there is now FINALLY a roadmap for internal DOJ, reference to Huber grand juries, further action in response by Congressional Oversight, and finally...(and I hope he waits) for Trump to correct the process as he finds necessary

maryrose

FIRE THE MUELLER NOW!

He continued, "You call people sometimes killers. He is a killer. He’s clearly executing people.”

Trump said praisingly, "He's a tough guy.".

Eye Doctor

Don't you dare try to sell the Huber will make things right fantasy.

Captain Hate

I hope that when the indictments that I don't think have a chance of happening don't happen, my friends here who were a little more optimistic than me don't get discouraged and lose sight of the progress that has been made.

I haven't and have never thought that indictments at the highest level would happen. But that doesn't mean that I'm not upset at what a cesspool the DOJ continues to be. Again, I was promised transparency and I'm not shutting up until I get it.

Miss Marple the Deplorable

Some thoughts:

1. That "all that really matters is the opinion of those who know us" is absolutely insulting. WE PAY YOUR DAMN SALARY!

2. If BLACK voters had been described as ignoramuses who thought they were going to get handed jobs, all holy hell would break loose. But Trump supporters, it's just fine.

3. Wray has the tin ear of the elitist. He needs to go. I want an uproar that cannot be ignored.

For years, as a middle class suburban mom the FBI was, I thought, a stellar agency. Now that I know that they don't even record interviews, that they force people to confess through threats, that they hate half of the country, and that they hate my President, I can see why the far left despised them. They are not for anyone but themselves.

Abolish them. They can keep the fingerprint file group and maybe the forensic lab. All of the rest should be let go. These people are as bad as that Florida sheriff's office!

Jane

The FBI did not keep it's halo. Don't forget where the people are. They don't trust Mueller, they begrudgingly are realizing how good Trump is. Obama is now considered the worst president since the 2nd WW.

It's starting to go our way.

clarice feldman

pagar, those 302's are not part of this report which deals only with the Clinton mail investigation. Two more reports to follow.

Jane:
Agree.
I hold onto those thoughts for the future.

henry

I agree with TC on the likely outcome re indictments. I do not believe meaningful improvements are in store when those people remain above the law.

Eye Doctor

There's is no such thing as 4d chess.

Jane

For some reason Clarice, I see all of this going in our favor. Sure I'd love to have had the IG say it like we see it, but that's a joke. The country however is noticing.

I think this is the opening of an opportunity for Trump to make some real changes. We'll see.

maryrose

Henry:
I again I agree with your analysis and that of TC.
I commend the optimists but caution realism for the future.

Thomas Collins

CH, I'm not worried about you getting discouraged. You'll always call it like you see it. Well, maybe you had to hold back at times back in the day about your thoughts on a certain utilities lawyer!

What is, eyedoctor?

daddy

Clarice,

I thought Comey was unaware of any FBI Agent leaking any info to reporters. In fact I think he told us that they don't do that since they are all 100% non-political Joe Friday's and only interested in the facts.

Well at least there's one good thing out of this. No longer are we on pins and needles waiting for the IG report to drop that's going to finally blow everything wide open. It dropped and it was a stink bomb, so no longer do we have to waste an ounce of anxiety hoping it'll result in the bad guys frogmarching into Leavenworth.

Um, Maryrose, that Strzok is still employed is circumstantial evidence that he got immunity.

Jane

And I think Trump should do it.

boris

It's a bad report that discredits the deep state but comes with a thick camouflage of excuses and fake remorse.

The camouflage and fake remorse will carry the MFM for a short period but too much of the stink has escaped and I think they misjudged how much this will backfire.

The whole truth? no but enough to demand reckoning. Pious remorse and sending pawns to re-training camps in far far short of reckoning.

Whenever Gowdy gave his "I love the FBI" speech, Limbaugh had a guest on to explain his theory. I reproduced that theory here that day, but I can't find it.

He figured Gowdy was setting himself up to be AG. A real 4D move.

Presently it sounds as though the familiar Indignant Gowdy has risen to the surface to express shock, anger, and dismay at what has been revealed about his precious institution.

If he appears more outraged than Sessions it just might work.

Charles Hurt to Brett on Comey's use of his private E-mail:

Brett: Charlie, james Comey comes out as a big loser in this.

Hurt: Big loser. He is a loser for 2 reasons. One is he gets chided for obviously usurping his authority, trying to be the Judge and Jury in this case, in determining not only the Investigation but whether charges should be filed, which was terribly wrong. But the other thing is that he got his knuckles rapped for the fact that he was using a private G-Mail Account over which he was doing FBI work

Brett (Interrupts) While he was investigating (Hillary's) E-Mails...

Hurt: (Laughing) ...while he was investigating that exact same thing. Exactly! I do think it is important to step back and remember why this is so important. You know E-mail can always be very confusing, your iPhone, your E-Mail, all this kind of stuff. The reason it is important is because, Hillary Clinton and Jim Comey both, the reason they were using their G-Mail accounts or their private accounts, is because they wanted to shield what they were doing and what they were saying, from the American People, and that is a real problem, whether you're running for President or you're the FBI Director.

Prof. Bret Weinstein: ‘What I Have Seen Functions…Like A Cult’

Tomorrow is the one year anniversary of the day that 50 Evergreen students–students that I had never met–disrupted my class, accusing me of racism and demanding my resignation. I tried to reason with them. I felt no fear because I knew that, whatever my failings might be, bigotry was not among them…

The protestors had no apparent interest in the very dialog they seemed to invite. I was even more surprised by the protestor’s fervor in shouting down my actual students–some of whom had known me for years. The cruelty and derision reserved for students of color who spoke in my defense was particularly chilling. If not discussion, what did they want? I was one of Evergreen’s most popular professors. I had Evergreen’s version of tenure. Did they really think they could force my resignation based on a meritless accusation?

They did think that. And they were right….

I take your point well. It's reasonable, to me anyway, that people can take their view and hold it for as long as it's practicable.

But this silliness of pointing out who was "right all along" and who needs to be "realistic" (regardless of reasons *unstated*)... it's absurd as the stereotypical "i toldja so."

With the exception of a very few who hang out here, we are armchair QBs. I try to keep that in mind when i begin to take things i cannot control too seriously. That's why i went to listen to Ol Yeller, an experienced and credible veteran of life in the DOJ, for an hour. Did me a lot of good. And it shrunk my concerns down to size--- as did your post.

Today's report is the "Tip of the Iceberg."

And the Bureau's official response to the Nation adds more baggage to the imbalance created by the Obama-Comey Cabal to weaponize the premier law enforcement agency of our Country.

I'm hopeful this provides some running room to reel in Mueller and Rosenstein.

Thanks for clarifying your view on a complex matter of great importance.
