Very few times I’ve felt threatened while out in the field. The mood here tonight is very volatile. Law enforcement appears to be closing down 1st Street in front of SCOTUS
Toughest one for red state Dem Senators and RINO Senators to vote against. Makes Tony Kennedy happy (art of the deal). Solid record on Court of Appeals. Trump once again proves he knows when to tweet provocatively and knows when to be politic. Excellent choice. Mitch McConnell will bring this one to fruition before the election.
This is politically expedient pick to get through the "Senate Ricketts". I believe that this jurist had the largest amount of opinions and dissents, so that may give (D)'s the excuse to drag out the confirmation process. I do not believe that this is a good thing.
DKE activities will not look as good as a painted rock. Especially with the idiots getting banned from campus a few years ago. No, I will never tell (bribery with quality potables aside). Kavanuagh was after I graduated anyway.

From the last thread, about that Central Park fiasco: jimmyk, you need to get out of town!
No worries, I'll not only be out of town, but out of the country.
Kavanaugh wasn't my first choice, but I think he'll be fine. Probably more consistently conservative than Kennedy. Trump will likely have a larger Senate majority when RBG finally keels over. Then the lib heads will really explode of Barrett is nominated.
My fav was Amul Thapar, RG. This is still winning, and I am happy with Pres. Trump's own pick. I'm going to enjoy the moment. Now it's up to McConnell & Co.
Judge Kavanaugh cannot help it that his parents *forced* him to attend Yale. He probably wanted Berkeley. :->
This may be a huge positive from the announcement tonight:
Kavanaugh nomination shows Trump Administration is serious about taming the administrative state. His opinions on AdLaw issues already get SCOTUS attention. Now he'll be at the table.
“I will oppose Judge Kavanaugh’s nomination with everything I have, and I hope a bipartisan majority will do the same,” Schumer said. “The stakes are simply too high for anything less.”
I got a text from a friend of mine about 8;45. He had just gotten a text from a friend who was a guest at the WH. She thought it was Kavanaugh because she saw some of his people there, but she was guessing. I find that amazing.
Frau, I wanted Barrett for the political showdown of it all but . . . politically, this was a very shrewd selection.
I love Thapar, too. We're lucky to have a range of great choices. Trump's list at least begins to comprehend this is a big ass country with a wide range of outstanding candidates for the Supreme Court.
I'm just hoping he's (meaning, The Prez) going to reestablish the reality that not only do you *not* have to be a jurist but you *also* don't have to be a lawyer.

The progressive, socialist left are of course already enraged. Another conservative justice threatens their agendas and the direction they were trying to push this country. They are rallying their forces and had begun protesting even before the announcement was made! 2/3
Thank God for this long awaited opportunity to change the makeup of the U.S. Supreme Court. We need to be faithful to pray for Judge Kavanaugh and his family during this very intense confirmation process. 3/3

NORTH GARDEN
We started picking Cherry Tomatoes (Sweet 100s) about 10 days ago, Early Girls 7 days ago, and the Fourth of Julys 5 days ago.
We planted starting on May 10th and ending on May 24th, which included 6 types of Tomatoes (had some from 3 types), sweet corn (12 tassels so far), 7 types of peppers (had some from 3 types), 2 types of cucumbers (had some of each), sugar snap peas (had some), 2 types of beans (had plenty of Bush Beans). We have about 10 different herbs in planters around the outside edge of the fenced-in garden, which helps keeps the deer out.
SOUTH GARDEN
We have pumpkins, yellow squash, and yellow zucchini, which were planted May 30th. We have at least 1 zucchini which is just about ready to pick.
