He will force the United States to secure the border with an adequate deployment of the U.S. Army. These units, perhaps a whole division, would be better employed in this role than in squatting in their bases. There would be practically no casualties, no illegal immigrants, fewer opioids, and the country could take its time with the wall."
i'd be all for it, if our CIC approached it correctly with ruthless rules of engagement, top notch weaponry (because the cartels will up the ante by using what's available to them), and promotion incentives for those that serve on the border.
if mismanaged and becomes a "logistics management" foray to throw boots at a problem, without any incentive to eradicate the threat FOREVER, then it becomes a can kicker exercise the Demz will undo if they ever get another whack at the pinata.
bottom line: all our troops would need to be fluent in Spanish. Mexxykinz will run their bullshit and the only way to interrupt it is fluency. a division of lingo deficient troops, especially at the command level would be a disaster.
Don't forget the minefields and artillery. Drones, lots of them, armed. Pull their armed forces to the border, strike an agreement to take out the narcotraficantes big time. Let the Mexicans kill the coyotes and traffickers.
seems to me that the pressure on incumbents by pro-choice voters is real, but easily deflected while shoring up their respective bases.

Oh ya, jim. I am all for a shoot to kill posture on the border....mines and drones and black ops against cartels too.
The Mexxykin army and their po-leece cannot be trusted.
It hasn't come to this yet: President Trump can bring Mexxyko to her knees economically. That is a problem we hold the key to and it may provide leverage for the Mexican national government to get serious about "joint operations" against the cartels.
Trump knows the cartels have to be pinched in this country AND on the other side of the border. The Mexican government has been completely infiltrated and bent over. Trump will make a move, i thoroughly believe, once he's shaken the ground beneath the ruling elites satin loafers.
---More importantly (and this is the point people tend to miss), the accused usually pleads guilty because it is a good deal. In Flynn’s case, he could have been charged with multiple false-statements counts...
---This brings us to the issue of vacating Flynn’s guilty plea, which his fans ardently hope against hope will happen.---It won’t...
---I am not saying Flynn is necessarily guilty of additional crimes. I am saying that even if by some legal miracle Flynn were permitted to withdraw his plea, Mueller is not going away. If the plea deal were broken, all bets would be off. The special counsel could then indict him on any and all charges that were dropped in exchange for the guilty plea...
---That is why the plea will stand . . . unless President Trump pardons him.
"You seem to be injudiciously dismissing the "kill them all and let God sort them out" ROE that would completely obviate any language barrier problemos."
just seeing it from a different point of view, Ig.
More seriously, if AMLO, the new Mexican President to be sworn in during December is really serious about wiping out corruption, why don't we propose something in both our interests.
Five months to sweep up intelligence and form a lightning quick strike by our special forces.
Hit them so hard and so fast that they can't recover. Destroy the product, seize monies and bank accounts.
I'm sure we could figure this out and without local protection forces warning them, they'd be on the wrong end of a turkey shoot.
Without the protection of the traffickers the local corrupt forces would be hung out to dry.
Scarlett Johansson has landed herself in hot water over her newest movie role — and didn’t exactly respond to criticism in the most thoughtful way.
In early 2017, Johansson faced widespread accusations of whitewashing when it was announced she’d be starring in Ghost in the Shell, an adaptation of a Japanese manga. She’s now re-teaming with that film’s director, Rupert Sanders, for an even cringier casting: She’s portraying a transgender man.
In Rub & Tug, Johansson is slated to play the real-life Dante “Tex” Gill, a trans man who had a massage parlor and sex work business in Pittsburgh in the 1970s and ’80s, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Given the ongoing issue of the lack of adequate representation of trans actors and filmmakers, Johansson’s move to take the part is being widely criticized. https://mic.com/articles/190125/scarlett-johansson-rub-and-tug-transgender-man-dante-tex-gill#.Ew17s2oSl
jim--- that's what i was getting at in my "bring Mex to her knees" comment. AMLO's honeymoon period is going to require him to "stand up to Trump" which will unlikely allow him to extend his honeymoon while at the same time allow the cartels to devour more of the country, and expand deeper into the US.
i think the black ops and joint ops will come out of CIC's decision to make AMLO the offer he can't refuse.
it will cost American lives but their are Americans who are still willing to fight for what's right.
law enforcement on steroids. disrupt organized crime in Mexxyko for 7 generations.... and get Hezbollah while we are at it.
sorry about that last one.... there should have read will likely allow instead of "unlikely allow"... stand up to Trump facade extends his honeymoon while the cartels devour more of the country and expand further into the US. :)
We have a problem south of our border that the Mexicans can't seem to correct. All we need is permission to act.
AMLO, "The Americans have not invaded but have agreed to help us at my request. The corruption in our country is so bad that I need the assistance of an honest force that cares about the lives of ordinary Mexicans.
The American forces have set up a tip-line that no Mexican official has access to. Tell them what they need to know to free you."
Impossible? Likely. In the best interests of both countries? Yeah.

Up close the swamp is making friends who can help you move from the public sector to the private sector. It’s peddling influence, getting to know people and building transactional relationships. It’s players who know everybody hiring out to other players who need to know everybody. It’s also knowing how to bypass ethics rules, oversight and chains of command to be able to get the things you need to do done. That might be a contract, a subsidy, a sale or the overthrow of the United States government...
Government runs on rules, on knowing them, enforcing them and breaking them. At the lowest level of power, you know the rules. At the next level you enforce them. At the final level, you break them.
That final level of power is the deep state. It lives where the rules are meant to be broken.
It’s just another day in the swamp.
BTW,
Anybody know what great offer Mr Schools, "the conscience of the DOJ," just got offered?
Just as we have a huge corruption problem in Mexico, we have one here as well.
The easiest way to fix it at home is that no ex-officials know how to work the loopholes, because we've removed all the laws, rules, and legislation loopholes. Which means simplifying all of these things. Take everything down to the basics, no loopholes.
We can't afford to pay people in government to be subject specialists an then let them move to private industry. With friendly contacts still in government.
Four roommates get drunk the night before an exam and they miss the test.
They go to the professor with a story that they got a flat tire on their way to take the exam and they beg for the chance to take a make-up exam.
The professor agrees.
On the day of the make-up test all four students show up right on time. The professor looks at his watch and says "begin."
The students open their exam books and there's only one question. "Which tire went flat?"
For some reason I thought we had already instituted some rule that prevented Fed Employees from immediately turning around to be lobbyists, but if we haven't I'm sure for it.
Christ Church Cathedral which sits right on Monument Circle in the center of the city.
It's Episcopalian and very, very liberal. Beautiful building (very old) and has always been led by a succession of very, very liberal Episcopal priests. A lot of the democrat movers and shakers attend church there if they aren't Catholic.

sadiq khan shows he is a commie idiot in other areas. People should not be able to invest in residential real estate if people are homeless because they need it.
"But we face a complex problem and one that operates at a global level. We still lack the powers and resources that would allow us properly to regulate the housing market, to protect tenants’ rights to remain in their homes, and to make homelessness and rough sleeping things of the past.
Just look at housing to see the true cost of privatisation.
Meanwhile, our national governments, by contrast seem happy to abandon cities to their fate. We are calling on them to address this problem by providing the resources and powers we need to build all the social-rented and other genuinely affordable homes we need, and to make sure tenants are protected in their homes. Global cities are facing a housing emergency. If we do not ensure that the purpose of housing is, first and foremost, to provide homes for our citizens rather than speculative assets, we will struggle to build liveable cities for our citizens for generations to come."
Tex Gill was a criminal freak, so therefore a perfect character for Hollyweird to portray as a victim. What’s “problematic” isn’t Scarlet Johansson playing Gill, it’s that any movie is being made about Gill.
I can only imagine the ways Gill will be made a sympathetic character,

From Jim nj's 01:09, here's the Cliff Notes version of Andy McCarthy's latest:
Michael Flynn’s Guilty Plea Isn’t Going Away
FWIW,
The commenters don't all agree with Andy's take.

What else is new?

Ig and Kev,
We have a problem south of our border that the Mexicans can't seem to correct.
Yeah.

A good read from Daniel Greenfield on the Deep State in general and the affairs of Strzok-Page and Wolfe-Watkins in particular: SEX, LIES AND THE DEEP STATE
What the affairs of the deep state tell us about it.

Daddy,
Just as we have a huge corruption problem in Mexico, we have one here as well.

Christ Church Cathedral, also known as "The Church on the Circle," locked up Mary, Joseph, and Jesus as part of its Every Family is Holy campaign.

daddy,
Christ Church Cathedral which sits right on Monument Circle in the center of the city.
It's Episcopalian and very, very liberal. Beautiful building (very old) and has always been led by a succession of very, very liberal Episcopal priests. A lot of the democrat movers and shakers attend church there if they aren't Catholic.
You can probably visualize my eyes rolling from thousands of miles away.
