Trump brings his special brand of diplomacy to the special relationship. Damn, from Brits leading the way on the absurdly heroic Thai cave rescue to their World Cup defeat in the semis to this - quite a week, and we still have Breakfast at Wimbledon this Sunday.

I found this through Collectors Weekly. The article explains the project and there is a link to the actual site at the bottom.
The Dutch had to drain a canal and they cleaned it out getting over 70,000 artifacts from pre-history to the 21st century. They are all digitized.
I went to the site but can't quite figure out how to navigate it, yet. It seems pretty neat, though.

I'm certainly not an expert on what would be most appropriate for her to wear. The Queen dresses like a dignified old lady and I don't think Mooch has anything similar. I thought she looked pleasant which is probably the maximum positive image she can pull off. She can't look elegant like Melania can, but neither can most other women.

Ignorance will be pleaded. The candidate, lobbyist, journalist, and person close to the Trump campaign will argue that they thought they were dealing with that 400-pound guy in New Jersey. Itâs too late now to start believing those protestations. There was enough out there about the ratfcking in the middle of the summer of 2016 to make anyone who cared to look suspicious of being handed anything by hackers, and this includes WikiLeaks, which has had its halo knocked into the Bay of Fundy for good and all by this indictment. Too many people didnât care, because Trump couldnât ever win, and because it had been open season on Hillary Rodham Clinton for 25 years, and, boy, was that ever fun!

There's so much more coming. You can feel the hoofbeats of the horseman and the baying of the hounds behind every syllable of this indictment. My guess is that Mueller's not going to move on anyone in the United States until very late in the game. He's given all those folks a look at just a piece of what he's got. That's got to have their knees watery. And, because this is 2018, and everything is awful and strange, the president* this conspiracy helped to install is meeting, one on one, with the architect of it all, the Tsar of all the ratfckers, tomorrow. Everyone should be so very proud..

Doing catch-up, and this is for those who may not have clicked on OL's link to Jason Chaffetz complaining about sleepy Jeff:
As I explain in my forthcoming book, âThe Deep State,â Attorney General Jeff Sessionsâ inexplicable failure to prosecute subversions of congressional authority played no small role in my decision to resign from Congress and the House Oversight Committee last year. I knew what harm the attorney generalâs wrong decision would cost Congress and the public.
Anyone could have seen this coming. The moment Jeff Sessions told me he had no intention of prosecuting Hillary Clinton IT aide Bryan Pagliano regarding her email scandal, I knew the battle was lost. Pagliano, youâll recall, refused to even appear before Congress â not once, but twice. In my role as chairman of the House Oversight Committee, I sent a letter to Sessions in February 2017 recommending prosecution for Pagliano for refusing to comply with a subpoena from the committee.
Up until that point, congressional subpoenas had not been optional except in cases of executive privilege...But thanks to Attorney General Sessions, itâs now a lot easier to flout a congressional subpoena...
I still don't buy that reasoning as Chaffetz's real reason for resigning but it makes more sense than some nonsense about a foot operation.

Lest someone think I am anti-black designers, the Michelle Obama dress was Oscar de la Renta, and Melania's suit was Christian Dior.
Pinandpuller, I watched that 25-minute video with Bob Johnson and it was excellent.
What the host pointed out, and which I think is correct, is that Johnson looks at things financially, not from an emotional level. This is also President Trump's way of thinking. He does care about people, but he thinks the best way to help them is financially.
Thomas Wictor looks at Trump as one who wants to improve things, whether financial, war/peace, immigration, whatever. He's not trying to gain power for his cronies, or amass money through book deals and phony foundations. He simply wants everyone's lives to be better.
Truthfully, peace and prosperity (which encourages peace) is a noble goal. That is why the obstruction of the democrats and their vile rhetoric is so horrible. It's dividing not only the electorate, but friends and families, when we should ALL want to improve everyone's lives.

Pin,
Google tells me that Thai is written Left to Right.
I was too young to learn how to read any of it but we have a few books laying around the house written in Thai since my Mom decided to learn a bit of it during our few years based there. Most of the Google sites tell us it was based on some variant of sanskrit which makes sense.
Just for interest: History of the Thai language
Thai is the national language of Thailand, spoken by around eighty percent of the sixty million residents of the South-East Asian country. Linguists consider it an "uninflected, primarily monosyllabic, tonal language" in the "Ka-Tai group." The spoken language is believed to have originated in the area which is now the border between Vietnam and China, an idea which provides clues to the origin of the Thai people, an area of continued scholarly debate. Linguistically, the language is related to languages spoken in eastern Burma, northern Vietnam, Yunnan, and Laos.
The written Thai Language was introduced by the third Sukothai period king, Ramkamhaeng, in 1283. This writing system has undergone little change since its introduction, so inscriptions from the Sukothai era can be read by modern Thai readers. The writing was based on Pali, Sanskrit, and Indian concepts, and many Mon and Khmer words entered the language.

From Count Ten (Conspiracy to Launder Money):
57. To facilitate the purchase of infrastructure used in their hacking activity . . . the Defendants conspired to launder the equivalent of $95,000 through a web of transactions structured to capitalize on the perceived anonymity of cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin.
The phrase âperceived anonymityâ caught my eye. Reading further in the indictment, they donât say that the US has cracked the anonymity of bitcoin, but rather they tracked the Russians as they made purchases and checked on their accounts:
60. The Conspirators used several dedicated email accounts to track basic bitcoin transaction information and to facilitate bitcoin payments to vendors. . . .
61. On occasion, the Conspirators facilitated bitcoin payments using the same computers that they used to conduct their hacking activity, including to create and send test spearphishing emails.
Thereâs more like this in the paragraphs that follow. Taken as a whole, the âperceived anonymityâ does not seem to be bitcoin related, but rather how the GRU purchased and moved their bitcoin around. Once the US finds an email that says âsend exactly 0.026043 bitcoin,â they could then dig around and find that specific transaction in the bitcoin Blockchain. (See paragraph 60)
Sounds like the GRU forgot that the first rule of anonymizing bitcoin is âDonât talk about bitcoin.â
This indictment reads like a wonderful example of the US engaging in taking back-bearings â once you know youâve been penetrated, you follow the trail backwards to see what it leads you to. (See The Honorable Schoolboy, John LeCarreâs followup to Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy for a wonderful, novel-length exploration of how back-bearings work.)

I enjoyed this bit from Pin's 03:47 link to Robert Johnson, founder of BET (Black Entertainment Television) praising Trump to a CNBC Panel that apparently is not quite as excited to hear that praise as Johnson is to give it. And love the fun dig at Kudlow which draws a good laugh:
CNBC guy: How's business?
Johnson: Business is very good. I believe that if you take into account the Trump Tax Cuts, you take into account the drop in Unemployment, particularly Unemployment for African Americans which is the lowest it's ever been in history, and you take into account that Interest Rates are fairly stable, and though they will probably drift up, but so far, and I think the Business Community is committed to reinvesting capital that they get from some of the Tax advantages, and as a result of that I think the Economy is going to grow. It's not going to do 5, as I think Larry Kudlow suggested it could do 5. Larry and I went to Princeton, the Woodrow Wilson School together. I was smarter than he was but (Panel breaks into laughter:) I'm glad he's at the NEC(?) I'm going to call him and tell him "Welcome to DC."

daddy,
I liked that video as well.
I need to get on YouTube and start subscribing so I don't miss these things. I am tired of having to search or wait until someone links stuff.

I'm seeing apparently bogus references to the Russian spearfishing attacking coming immediately after Trump jokingly hoped the Russians had Hillary's 30,000 emails.
Here's one, but unfortunately it's from AP at HotAir.

This is a really good thread on Trump's connection with the blue collar voter.

TK, "eligible" meaning your insurance won't pay for it, or your doctors don't recommend it?

Been a bit preoccupied the last few days. One of my good friends lost his son to complications from routine gall bladder surgery.
Sepsis developed and they couldn't get it under control. He had been on life support for sometime and they ultimately had to make the decision to let him go.
Don't know if I could do that.
CH and GUS, don't know if the get together for tomorrow is still on, but I can't make it. Have a funeral to go to.
Say a prayer for the parents, Dave and Pam.

That sucks, TK.
Did DoT do that to you?
Or was it Jane?
Bet it was Jane.
