Trump brings his special brand of diplomacy to the special relationship. Damn, from Brits leading the way on the absurdly heroic Thai cave rescue to their World Cup defeat in the semis to this - quite a week, and we still have Breakfast at Wimbledon this Sunday.
I listened to a Little Ben Shapiro YouTube video on the way home tonight. Some black UK bird asked him about unconscious bias and how it leads to white privilege. He more or less said that studying UB would be like looking for a ghost of a ghost. It did get me thinking about what SJW types believe. They don't seem to believe it when it comes to white males like James Comey, Rod Rosenstein and Peter Strzok. It's long but this is the video https://youtu.be/dBY7hVnl2nw

Daddy,
What I thought about that neutrino capture was so significant was that they had found the source of its origin. We've captured neutrinos before, so we know they are real, not physics fiction, but figuring out the source is mind-blowing.
We posited they existed, we proved they existed with deep mine lab experiments, they're incredibly hard to detect because they pass through our world with no impediment, unless they hit an atomic nuclei. And that happens so seldom that the detectors are super-sensitive.
But we didn't know where they came from. We assumed they were, I think, background radiation. That they could determine a source for that particular neutrino is a game-changer, presuming they are correct.
If so, neutrinos are not random phenomena, but have specific origins. That's big.

Organizations representing the families of the Bataclan victims said that an Islamic rap concert praising jihad, in a place where people were murdered and tortured by jihadists, would be an insult to the memory of the victims, and asked that the concerts be canceled.
"France is at war, and leaves the enemy in peace". — Ivan Rioufol, journalist, in Le Figaro.
Macron and the French government speak and act as if the enemy has won and as if they want to gain some time and enjoy the moment before the final surrender.

A few of you brought up the Las Vegas shooter and the memory hole. It's not much different than Bataclan, and we actually know why the jihadists did it.
Posted by: Pinandpuller | July 16, 2018 at 03:39 AM
Wow what a huge insult Gordy:
When the Bataclan Theater reopened a year later, the musician Sting sang a song called Inshallah ("If it be your will, it shall come to pass"). Commemorative plaques bearing the word "murders" -- not terrorism, and of course not jihad -- were laid to honor the victims so that passers-by would learn that people were killed, but not by whom. For the second anniversary of the attacks, political leaders from left and right released balloons and smiled as they rose in the sky.

neet
Another acronym from sociologists... NEET stands for 'Not in Education, Employment or Training'. I'm not sure, yet, whether it has any global significance or derogatory overtones. However, like chav, it seems to be particularly applicable to a social under-class lacking drive, motivation or ambition. I part this is due to poverty and lack of opportunity. But this burgeoning classification will soon become the darling of right-wingers.
Tokyo NEETs have recently been marching.
The North East in the UK has a pronounced abundance of NEETs

TV: You mentioned the economic platform, and the prison industrial complex, and the military industrial complex. Are there any other big big policies — of either or both Trump or Obama — that are at odds with communist beliefs?
AS: I believe that nothing so arbitrary as money should be able to come between a person and the means of survival. And that's a really fancy way of saying that it doesn't matter if you're poor — you should have top-quality healthcare. There shouldn't be a barrier between rich and poor in terms of the kind of healthcare that they can access.
Under Obama, you had the attempt at expanding universal healthcare, which was a huge step forward for the United States, but ultimately, it didn't win the argument of ideology.

Maria Bartiromo and her current panel are hammering the FBI for not taking physical control of the DNC server and thereby allowing the Dem's hired guns, Crowdstrike, to do the supposed forensic exam on that thing. Nice to see her panel is up to speed on lots of facts revealing the total corruption of the FBI/DOJ since at least 2016.

NAMBLA has been saying that for decades too---
I bet you can't prove water is wet either.
Couldn't "prove" endless screen time is bad for kids either twenty five years ago, when all I had to do was look at the eyes-glazed-over-face of my oldest to know I needed to send his little fanny outside to PLAY IN THE REAL WORLD.
Now the neuroscience behind deliberate addiction of social media is being revealed---plus the fact these Silicon Valley bigwigs won't allow their own offspring to touch a smartphone till they are in high school, or have TVs in their homes...
We've got a generation of kids so whacked out w anxiety from social media use they bring in therapy dogs before routine exams at my sister's dental hygiene program! Not to mention the dogs pooping in planes.
Maybe my kid should have learned to code....but he didn't sure need any more shoot 'em up stuff.

"We just can't wake her. It doesn't look good I'm afraid" the doctor told Ralph in a quiet somber voice.
Ralph looked at Lena and with a soft trembling voice said "But doctor, she's so young. She's only 45."
