Jack is Back!

Watching the McCallum-Kavanaugh interview and from body language, he is not the person Ford and Ramirez remember. Bogus, all the way.

If he was the sexual monster they make him out to be he would have reached across and grabbed McCallam ala Franken.

Captain Hate

Do I get a vote on who's the most irritating knob on the thread?

Marlene

I just heard a top of the hour news update. There was an audio quote from Kavanaugh,so the interview must be airing tonight.

Jack is Back!

Will asomeone finally question the quals of Judge Napolitano. For me, he is less credible than some Judge in Las Vegas who perfoms those last minute weddings.

Marlene

OT...hubby cleaned out the garden today. Anyone want some butternut squash? We have enough to feed a small army. :)

Jack is Back!

The late, great Arlen Specter, from Judge Nap.

Now do you know what I mean. The guy is a fake judge. Princeton?

I sure hope their entrance quals have got better.

centralcal

I agree with you Jack. I don’t know where Ailes found Napolitano, but he needs to be replaced.

Momto2

daddy - we can add the Top Gun lie to the L-O-N-G list of other lies. If you google "Cory Booker lies" it turns up 6 million hits.

Some of the fibs were relatively small, or at least typical liberal boilerplate. Booker claimed to live in a “low-income,” “inner-city community,” but his property there, in an attractive neighborhood, is valued by Zillow at $377,322.

He claimed that the median income of his community is “about $14,000,” but Newark’s actual average is more than twice that, at $34,012.

He said that in America the average wages are “at a 65-year low,” but, even adjusted for inflation, that’s not even remotely in the realm of being correct: Median personal income is 50 percent higher than in 1980, and household income reached its highest level ever in 2016 and has grown more since.

Booker claimed that “90 percent of [Kavanaugh’s] work product” has “not been released” to the public.

This is laughable. The only way to make such a claim even within the outer realms of accuracy is to treat as Kavanaugh’s own work product the memos actually written by dozens of other people that merely crossed his desk while he was White House staff secretary.

Booker said that “the rest” – the “other 10 percent” – of Kavanaugh’s work product was considered “committee confidential” and thus still mostly off limits to the public.

This is flat-out false: More than half a million pages of Kavanaugh’s work product has been released, with at least half of that already open for public viewing.

The Infamous Ignatz

Admittedly Janet makes a somewhat homelier woman than the judge.

Jack is Back!

To lie is a qualification for being a successful politician. Booker is one of the more recent poster boys.

I think this Rosenstein kerfuffle is a head fake to find out more about leakers.

Rosenstein is too timid, too low level, too distant from the real crew of destruction. May be he is trying to elevate his quals as a deep state honcho.

Howie Carr, UNC Chapel Hill graduate, just told some snot caller that he has a letter officially stating that he was admitted to Brown.

I think that the questioning of Kavanaugh on Thursday will try to lend credibility to Ford's charges by claiming that Kavanaugh was a heavy drinker. The USA Today article has:

"Kavanaugh's roommate at the time of the alleged incident, James Roche, said he never witnessed Kavanaugh commit any act of sexual misconduct but he told The New Yorker that Kavanaugh was "frequently incoherently drunk.""

I predict many many questions about drinking.

Extraneus

Nice clip from the Kavanaugh interview:

daddy

Finally an intelligent poll question for Howie:

Do you think Christine Blasey Ford will someday soon host Saturday Night Live, or will she just settle for being a guest on the Bill Maher Show?

James D.

I'm in favor of the idea of decreasing the drinking age back to 18, but raising the voting age up to 21 ... or 26, when they get off Mommy & Daddy's ObamaCare and move out of their basements.

I wouldn't mind a system where all the rights - and responsibilities/consequences - of adulthood are tied together, and at any time after age 18, you can declare yourself an adult.

When you do, you get to vote, to buy alcohol & tobacco, etc.

BUT - also when you do, you can no longer be carried on your parents' health insurance. Parents can no longer cosign for student loans. Etc etc etc.

AND - until you do, you cannot sign legal contracts. You can't sign a lease. Your parents have legal right to make decisions about your health, you can't get prescriptions (let alone surgical procedures) without their approval, ec.

Adulthood all in one package, the good and the bad.

I am watching Bezos on Cspan3 at his sit down interview at the Air Force Ausssociation annual meeting and he is discussing his business theory. Funny, he is talking as Trump would about business, entrepreneuship, risk taking et. Yet he is an opponent of Trump.

If you listen to him, you will wonder why?

I am a member of AFA and have been to many annuals but I only wish I had gone to this one. If you see this, can you find one thougth Bezos has that Trump hasn't already talked about, or has not already accepted in his life?

Senator describes frat party assault, reveals why she didn't report

Sen. Martha Hennessey, a Hanover Democrat seeking a second term, posted on her Facebook page last week that she was assaulted by a Dartmouth College classmate at a fraternity party in 1976. She told WMUR-TV that she suffered multiple bruises from being thrown against a fireplace while about a dozen other students watched.

“I didn’t press charges, but word spread around campus - all false - about what occurred. Friends I had known my whole life quickly blamed me for the incident,” she wrote.

...

“This incident has lived with me for 42 years. My assaulter went on to become a physician,” she wrote. “I let him get away with it, because I was PROTECTING MYSELF.”

Hennessey said she came forward after President Donald Trump tweeted that the woman accusing Kavanaugh of a long-ago assault should have reported it at the time.

“It is NOT POSSIBLE for anyone to know what they would have done in my shoes or in the shoes of Christine Blasey Ford,” she wrote. “YOU HAVE NO IDEA. BOYS and MEN get away with it every day, everywhere. Victims are ridiculed, shamed, denied, and traumatized over and over again. Forever. DON’T ASSUME YOU KNOW.”

Hennessey’s father was the dean of Dartmouth’s business school at the time, and she said he later confronted her attacker and told him “he would never receive a Dartmouth diploma if he did it again.”

Oh the humanity. She doesn't even say it was a sexual assault.

 joan

"CNN's Jake Tapper: "We now have four individuals who have come forward who were named by Professor Ford...and all four...have all said they don't remember anything like this ever happened."

"Leftist Jennifer Granholm: "Right. And that actually corroborates Ford's story."

Granholm claims this supports Ford's story because she was so upset and didn't want anyone to know what happened that she slunk out because she was so horribly mortified. I thought I read somewhere that she was so drunk, she didn't remember details or anything else.

Words fail me.

Lou Dobbs showering praise on Mitch McConnell for his floor comments today in support of Judge Kavanaugh. Will wonders never cease?

Yaley News

Minutes after President Trump nominated Judge Brett Kavanaugh ’87 LAW ’90 to the Supreme Court, I published a controversial op-ed in The New York Times endorsing the nomination. I later testified in support of Kavanaugh on the final day of his confirmation hearings. I still stand by what I have said about Kavanaugh’s uniquely impressive judicial and scholarly record over the last dozen years. But now that serious accusations have arisen about his conduct in his teenage years, I believe that these accusations deserve the best and most professional investigation possible — even if that means a brief additional delay on the ultimate vote on Judge Kavanaugh, and even if that investigatory delay imperils his confirmation.

As agonizing as this delay might be for all concerned, in the long run this additional investigation is the best way forward, not just for the Court and the country and Kavanaugh’s accusers, but also for Kavanaugh himself. If the investigation’s facts and findings support him, then he will join the Court in the sunshine and not under a cloud. If instead the investigation uncovers compelling evidence against him, President Trump should be ready with a pre-announced back-up nominee.

Because Kavanaugh has been accused of serious misconduct, he deserves to be heard as speedily as possible, and in a public forum. Of course, the strict letter of the Constitution’s Sixth Amendment does not apply because no criminal charges are pending against Kavanaugh. But the spirit of the Sixth Amendment and its underlying vision of fair play are nonetheless instructive: “The accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial” — an opportunity to tell the world as early and as emphatically as possible that he is innocent, and to directly counter the claims of his accusers. Thursday’s scheduled Senate hearing will, in effect, be the proper opening round of this speedy and public trial, giving Kavanugh’s accusers a chance to present their evidence and then giving Kavanaugh himself a speedy and public opportunity to tell his side of the story.

But if, after this opening round, large and potentially resolvable factual questions remain (for example: who else was at the Yale party and what did they see?), there should be additional fact-finding by Senate investigators and/or the FBI, followed if necessary by one final Senate hearing. In exchange for Senate Republicans’ willingness to reopen Pandora’s box, Senate Democrats should promise to agree to a firm end-date (say, October 5), come what may. This proposal, while somewhat similar to one endorsed by many of my Yale Law School faculty colleagues last week, differs in that (1) I favor an investigation after, not before, an initial (speedy, public) Senate hearing on this accusation, and (2) my proposal seeks to directly address Republican anxiety about an indefinitely prolonged investigation process.

Republicans might nonetheless worry that Democrats will try to find new accusers and episodes, and will then seek still more extensions to conduct ever wider investigations in an endless game of Whack-a-Mole. .

Jack is Back!

What all this comes down to is 51-49. As simple as that.

If you are correct then pretty smart of Grassley to let things play out like they have isn't it?

Not in my opinion. First of all, even assuming he's correct you're only playing a guessing game on what shutting down this nonsense would have yielded. Third, even if he's confirmed this has become acceptable behavior for the progs. Waiting for them to back off of full retard is a fool's errand.
