In his statement in Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearing yesterday, Lindsey Graham embodied the problem with Republicans’ deliberate ignorance about Russian interference in the 2016 election.
As part of his statement, he raised the time Joe Biden pointed out what a hypocrite Brett Kavanaugh was for believing presidents should not be investigated during their term but nevertheless thought it necessary to ask Bill Clinton the following questions:
If Monica Lewinsky says that you inserted a cigar into her vagina while you were in the Oval Office area, would she be lying?
[snip]
If Monica Lewinsky says that she gave you oral sex in the Oval Office area, would she be lying?
If Monica Lewinsky says that you ejaculated in her mouth on two occasions in the Oval Office, would she be lying?
Lindsey did so to suggest Biden’s comments about the Clinton investigation refute the claim that Trump picked Kavanaugh to protect himself from investigation, as if the investigation of Clinton for a blowjob was as legitimate as Mueller’s investigation into whether Trump cheated to win the election..
The discussion device I have perfected this summer is to interrupt, in any setting, any one of my friends mid-rant about Trump to the knowing nods of my other friends agreeing with him/her (usually her), by calmly asking "Excuse me, could you please tell me of three or four specific things Trump said that are as bad as you say, and could you please tell me the most important, say five, policies he has implemented which you think are so wrong so we can discuss them? living near the Port of Oakland, i count among friends vested longshoremen.
there have been arms shipments to the Port since 9-11 which have been seized from inspections of what amounts to being needles in the haystack. ammunition, AKs, RPGs.
stuff is getting through. the zone's being flooded with arms. it isn't being reported.
the "we" to whom you refer won't make the choice to fight pre-emptively.
the fight will be brought to us by an amalgamation of jihadi, armed anarchists, cartel proxies, and gangs which have morphed since the era of the LA riots.
this is not to say that Sun Tzu is not a useful influence on "our side." but our enemies have read, learned, and are applying the same--- at local levels of influence.
they count on the people in Trump's face to resume their control after his era ends. why? because they will tolerate the local takeovers (no go zones) that will CONTINUE to result from "soft warfare" (city councils, ordinances, federal defiance proclamations etc etc etc).
I used to belong to Friends of the Earth briefly, when I thought they really cared about the environment. After reading a couple newsletters, that ended things quickly.
Iggy--- thanks. however, i remember the point you made. it was someone else in tangential, but incorrect, agreement with your point that prompted my reflection and subsequent commentary.

According to the Charlotte Observer, Officer Cole P. Daniels’ tattoo is of the Roman numeral three, and is encircled with stars.
The Southern Poverty Law Center said that the emblem is affiliated with the Three Percenters, which is “a national organization made up of patriotic citizens who love their country, their freedoms, and their liberty. We are committed to standing against and exposing corruption and injustice.”
The group also aims “to utilize the fail-safes put in place by our founders to reign [sic] in an overreaching government and push back against tyranny,” and calls itself “America’s insurance policy.”
According to the SPLC, the group is an anti-government militia group.
Members of the group were also reportedly among activists who marched in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 2017’s “Unite the Right” rally.
Dems are ratcheting it up. http://bejohngalt.com/2018/09/a-new-circus-comes-to-town/
Last week it was the McCain Funeral-athon, which likely cost the taxpayers $25 – $50-million. Chuck Schumer and the Democrats were praising McCain for his bi-partisanship (undermining his own party). Did anyone other than the McCain Family, the DC Swamp Creatures and the media pay any attention?
This week it’s the Kavanaugh hearings and Schumer and the Democrats are anything but bi-partisan. An honest media would be pointing this out.
Schumer and Pelosi may be off-the-wall, crazed leftists, but don’t you wish McConnell and Ryan were so dedicated to saving the US as they are to destroying it?

Any violence those groups commit against American citizens will only reinforce the position of Trump and MAGA conservatives and weaken the position of the Democrats.
One benefit of the war in Iraq is that the US military got really good at killing insurgents, which is the type of warfare the groups you listed would employ. If the SHTF like some people expect the ultimate outcome of the conflict is already known.
so ..... I ask again... when did this become the symbol for "WHITE POWER".??? Or is it just more made up on the spot bullshit.
It was a 4chan (or 8chan?) joke, they started the rumor to troll Lefties. It worked! Then they laughed and told Lefties it was a joke. Young Trump supporters on social media (the kind who are called "alt-right but aren't) started posting pictures of themselves making the OK sign to further troll Lefties.
So NOW the Left has doubled-down and claims: yeah, it was a joke, but then the Nazi's embraced it and use it to both signal their white nationalist hate AND deny that they're serious.
I am sure there is a bulletin board at HuffPost with 100's of tweets, Instagram posts, and 8chan rants connected with red string proving this is ALL True, you guys!!?

They really don't want to go up against men and women who have been engaging in urban warfare for the past 17 years. They risked their lives to defend this country and will do so again.Few if any have any truck with what passes for liberalism these days.
I don't wanna get too deep into this, but I'll offer that Tom R and I - living in seriously red states - have an entirely different perspective than those living in or around Berkeley or Madison.
Speaking as an unarmed woman of the older persuasion living not 3 blocks away from an apartment complex full of welfare recipients, I try to be cautious and pay attention.
My state is red, but I live on the edge of a blue area, so I see both sides. Glad I got a security system and have our dogs who sound like we have 10 instead of 3.

One big takeaway for me: I recognize that Jack Dorsey and Sheryl Sandberg are being careful here. But I'm surprised they didn't mount a stronger defense of Section 230. It's pretty clear it's coming under attack, and that's a big deal. Some history:
Tom R, you sound certain you won't be one of the victims of that violence.
No what I am certain of is the overall outcome of the conflict if it occurs. If those groups KK listed try to start Civil War 2 some innocent civilians will unfortunately lose their lives. I may be one of them but thanks to the 2nd Amendment I will be able to defend myself and hopefully take out a few before I go down. I suppose that's one of the benefits of living in Alabama. If ANTIFA shows up here and tries to stir up shit they will get their asses kicked in no time at all.
With that said, I think if the JOM community is aware of what KK said is going on we can safely assume Trump and his team are aware of it as well. Its not a coincidence that the MAGA agenda and the mandate Trump gave to Jeff Sessions as AG has focused on areas like illegal immigration, border control, targeting gangs like MS-13, the Mexican drug cartels, etc. Those are all clearly national security issues and the fact Trump is aggressively promoting them and Sessions is prosecuting them is one of the reasons the Progtards hate them so much.
"Trump is our Frankenstein and we are Dr. Frankenstein," he declares. "We have helped to create a situation that has allowed us to end up with Trump. The dumbing down of our society through the media, the lack of education through poor schools, allows for a dumbed-down electorate, and for him to be able to actually get 63 million votes." In the opening moments of his new film, as the comedy curdles into horror, Moore asks bluntly, "How the fuck did this happen?"
The movie comes at a key moment for both Moore and the republic. His 2004 anti-Bush diatribe, Fahrenheit 9/11, remains the top-grossing documentary of all time ($222.4 million worldwide), but his last major film, 2016's Where to Invade Next, got only a perfunctory release. He's looking to ride the current boom in documentary film and a crescendo of anti-Trump fervor to turn his new movie into a come-to-Jesus moment for depressed progressives and a rallying cry for insurgent politicians lining up for the midterms. Moore's not prepared to say a Democratic takeback of the House, let alone the Senate, is a fait accompli, but he predicts, "There's going to be a tsunami of voters — especially women, young people and people of color. If there are candidates worth voting for, there will be a shellacking the likes of which the Republicans have never seen."
No what I am certain of is the overall outcome of the conflict if it occurs. If those groups KK listed try to start Civil War 2 some innocent civilians will unfortunately lose their lives.
A loss of life that is entirely preventable - IF our elected officials, especially those with an R after their names; and our appointed officials, especially those at public safety-related agencies like the DoJ, would just DO THEIR GODDAMNED JOBS.
And I'm laughing at myself a little bit, OL - I guess I never considered that M.V. was in Massachusetts. For some reason I thought it was associated with Connecticut. lol
You will be glad to know that Jeff Sessions is doing exactly everything you expect him to do to prevent unnecessary loss of life in the event of Civil War 2.
Even if his tenure ends tomorrow, Sessions would leave a legacy that will affect millions of Americans. He has dramatically shifted the orientation of the Justice Department, pulling back from police oversight and civil rights enforcement and pushing a hard-line approach to drugs, gangs and immigration violations. He has cast aside his predecessors’ attempts to rectify inequities in the criminal-justice system in favor of a maximalist approach to prosecuting and jailing criminals. He has rescinded the Obama Administration’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program and reversed its stances on voting rights and transgender rights. “I am thrilled to be able to advance an agenda that I believe in,” he told a group of federal prosecutors in Lexington later that day. “I believed in it before I came here, and I’ll believe in it when I’m gone.”
Sessions’ liberal critics agree that he’s been remarkably effective. That’s why they find him so frightening.
Allrighty then Henry

Schumer and Pelosi may be off-the-wall, crazed leftists, but don’t you wish McConnell and Ryan were so dedicated to saving the US as they are to destroying it?

the fight will be brought to us by an amalgamation of jihadi, armed anarchists, cartel proxies, and gangs which have morphed since the era of the LA riots.

A loss of life that is entirely preventable - IF our elected officials, especially those with an R after their names; and our appointed officials, especially those at public safety-related agencies like the DoJ, would just DO THEIR GODDAMNED JOBS.

James D,
You will be glad to know that Jeff Sessions is doing exactly everything you expect him to do to prevent unnecessary loss of life in the event of Civil War 2.
http://time.com/magazine/us/5220076/april-9th-2018-vol-191-no-13-u-s/
