âI can only think it is done to get donors although one would think that donors would be skeptical, too.â
Youâd think, either to generate donors or audience, the bias would be to make the contests closer than they really are, not favoring the Ds. But I suppose the really rich donors give to the front runners with the expectation of a quid pro quo.
Having read the whole thing, Codevilla did finally hit his stride after the first quarter or so of the essay.
The first few paragraphs had me blinking but he got back to much clearer writing later.
Hard to fault anything he said.

Some people get caught up in style rather than substance and judge a piece accordingly.

Remember someday that I told you the following; if you and your like minded statists continue on your present course you will force the millions of decent normal Americans to defend themselves and their country against you and to kill you by the thousands or the millions if you persist in your project to turn this country upside down.
It is very slightly possible your kind will lose enough political power to dissolve as the Whigs did before you force a conflagration but if one occurs your kind will be devoured by the whirlwind you'll reap.
Your reply to this will be your typical, arrogant, retarded, snide, blind brick of shit but in the end you and your kind will be dead, in exile or in a political wilderness akin to your child, the KKK, and your fathers, the communists and fascists.
Period.
The nice thing about knowing each other as much as we do, Iggy, is we can spot a sock from a mile away. I usually give a generic troll half a line if that before moving on and at most an Iggy-Wannabee gets one whole line before I am sure.
--Iggy:
Some people get caught up in style rather than substance and judge a piece accordingly.--
Style isn't the question. The first duty of a writer is to write clearly enough that someone is willing to read it and if they do, that they can understand it.
That has long been George Gilder's problem. His ideas would have been far more influential if he wasn't such an idiosyncratic [read, awful] writer. He used to be very good but for whatever reason might as well be speaking his own language half the time now.
His Ignazi comments aren't sockpuppeting; it's just the affectionate nickname by which he refers to me, OL.
It's actually relatively clever, for him, but unfortunately the usual brown shirt projection as well.
Or perhaps, considering what a caricature of a nutjob prog he is, he engages in black shorts projection.
SemanticSpode.
Those sonsuvbitches ought to be shot for such a headline. it refers to trump haters being disappointed, as if those are the only people who matter. Why not,"Prepare for Elation" instead of "Prepare for disappointment?" Rotten press bastards.

I picked it up, when I was on the board of Stratford Hall (the Plantation, not the school), where I was always far more interested in its Colonial/Revolutionary War history, than its connection to Rbt E. Lee. You didn't happen to be visiting when we provided a night of Colonial doggerel, which I wrote & narrated as the famous tutor himself? I was active at Stratford for quite some time.

âI can only think it is done to get donors although one would think that donors would be skeptical, too.â

Iggy:
Some people get caught up in style rather than substance and judge a piece accordingly.
If I can glean some truth or fact that is new to me than I enjoy the essay.
I was in choirs in high school and college both at the undergraduate and graduate level.
I also sang in numerous church choirs as an alto or second soprano.
Every year at Christmas the Trinity Cathedral On 30th Street in Cleveland holds a Messiah sing in.
You sit in your section and people come on their lunch hour and some of the voices are spectacular. My husband and I have done it numerous times.

Kushner story is fake news and the Castro needs to be sued for slander.

I was just a bit too slow in hushing Ben's latest Ignazi comment.
There's no wig or Whig being flipped, retard.

--Iggy:

" But I wonder if itâs a security concern for USSS or local law enforcement. "
IMO, Jim Acosta would be the major security.

I hear you Iggy but in my cranky mood I suffer fools less and less these days. Bring me a decent debate any day, but not that stuff.

Headline at The Hill:
"Mueller report PSA: Prepare for disappointment"
Those sonsuvbitches ought to be shot for such a headline. it refers to trump haters being disappointed, as if those are the only people who matter. Why not,"Prepare for Elation" instead of "Prepare for disappointment?" Rotten press bastards.
