Turkey’s ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) advisor Yassin Aktay said Ankara did not accuse Saudi Arabia in the disappearance of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
In an interview with Russia Today, the advisor to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, said that Turkey was not accusing the Saudi state in Khashoggi’s disappearance, hinting at the possibility of a conspiracy to divide between Saudi Arabia and Turkey.
He also hinted at the possibility that Khashoggi was abducted by a third party, or perhaps by members of what he called the “deep state.”
He denied earlier reports that quoted him as saying Khashoggi was killed inside the consulate, saying: “What Reuters reported about his killing is not an official statement.”
He also stressed that Turkish-Saudi relations have historical roots, and hopes that they will not be affected by this issue.
Erdogan had said on Sunday that authorities still have expect a positive outcome in Khashoggi’s disappearance, noting that he is waiting for the results of investigations on the Saudi journalist.
The Turkish president said in a speech to members of his Justice and Development Party that he was following Khashoggi’s case himself.
The Khashoggi family confirmed that they are coordinating with the Saudi government to learn about the latest developments in the case. The legal advisor, Motasem Khashoggi, told Al Arabiya English that the family is coordinating with the Saudi government in the case.
He added: “We trust the government and the actions taken, and all the efforts that are taken in the case of Jamal Khashoggi.”
But a commenter at Lucianne.com has this perspective:
Tough words from The Recuser on the very day he allowed a senior Senate official escape numerous felony charges for leaking documents to the press by pleading guilty to a single count. Sessions speech was proper, but he appears to suffer from same delusion as the liberal judges he condemns, that of allowing politics and not the laws of the US to influence his decisions. Sessions’ appointment as AG will haunt the Trump Administration for years to come.

Democratic Senate candidate Rep. Beto O'Rourke (Texas) told reporters on Monday that he will not share his whopping $38.1 million fundraising haul with fellow Democrats.
O'Rourke told reporters his refusal to share his campaign dollars with other Democratic candidates stems from a need to "deliver" for Texas and the country, the Washington Examiner reported.
"No," O'Rourke answered when asked if he would share his fundraising haul. "I'm focused on Texas. Most of our contributions have come from Texas. All of them have come from people. Not a dime from PACs."
O'Rourke added that if people wanted to donate to other campaigns, they can do so.
"Folks contributed to this race because they want us to win this race. If they want to contribute to another campaign, of course they're welcome to do that," O'Rourke said. "No, we're going to spare no expense. We will bear any burden to make sure that we deliver for this state and for this country. That means a victory on the 6th of November."
Some Democrats have worried about O'Rourke leaving money in his war chest after the election that could have gone to more vulnerable Democrats in the Senate. Since Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh's hearings, polls have shown a bump in enthusiasm for GOP voters, especially for GOP Senate candidates.
"I've got to honor the commitment that those who've contributed to this campaign have made to me, and their desire that we use this to win this election," O'Rourke said. "If they want to contribute to someone else, they should do so. If they want to contribute to a campaign that's going to win this historic victory for Texas and the country, then I'm grateful for the contribution and I'm going to make the most of it, so that's what we're focused on."
Despite the huge fundraising numbers, O'Rourke trails in the polls against incumbent Sen. Ted Cruz (R). The RealClearPolitics average of polls has Cruz with a 7 point lead.
“This guy has got to go,” Mr. Graham said on Fox News, “Saudi Arabia are you listening? There’s a lot of good people you can choose, but MBS [the crown prince] has tainted your country and tainted himself.”
Mr. Graham explained he was one of Saudi Arabia’s staunchest supporters in Congress, but now feels “used and abused” in light of Khashoggi crisis. The South Carolina Republican said the crown prince is “toxic” and can never be a world leader.
“I’m not going back to Saudi Arabia as long as this guy is in charge,” he said.

Clayton State University criminal justice professor Andrea Allen offered students extra credit to attend an event on Tuesday supporting Democrat Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
“Although I never offer extra credit, I’m making a one-time exception,” Allen told students in the email. “I’m sure you’ve heard by now that the Abrams campaign along with Senator Warren are visiting campus tomorrow at 10 am in the UC commons. They would like a really big turnout. We had YL2's future in laws visit us on Nantucket last week then we packed up the pups and came south, stopping at YL's for a night on the way for a grandkid fix.
After getting settled at home and making my "house" lists, I went to drive through my shopping centers to make more "work" lists. I told Mrs. OL that if I had not returned by cocktail hour, she would find my car at the airport and me back on Nantucket.
As to the usual subjects of discussion here, we are well into "wait and see what comes out of the oven" mode now and we will finally see our future on Election Day in a few weeks. I have no idea what to expect, though I maintain hope for keeping both houses even though all the experts say otherwise. If we lose the House and with it MAGA, then there will be years of "coulda-woulda-shoulda". If Trump pulls out a win-win, then we can sit back and enjoy the ride.
No Iggy and others, I am not inviting a debate over how a House loss will make us stronger in 2020.
Janet,
The problem is, it's their battlefield and is owned and controlled lock, stock and barrel by progs.
When battlefields that do not funnel billions of dollars to our enemies exist why continue to use their funnel? Their power very largely rests on the half of America they despise using them. One person leaving is nothing of course. A flood is something else.
“People like Patti and other should back off and stop going after me,” he said, adding that they “see me as a threat.”
“I don't take shots at any Democrats first,” he said. “I only respond when certain Democrats attack me. If they come after me, I’m going to hit back twice as hard.”
--No Iggy and others, I am not inviting a debate over how a House loss will make us stronger in 2020.--
You won't get one because I don't think I ever said that. I just said historically the pendulum swings and all is not lost if the house is in a couple of weeks.
And welcome back.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) launched a bizarre Twitter rant late Monday afternoon following the disastrous rollout of DNA results that further debunked her decades-long claim to American Indian ancestry.
Warren’s thread of 20-plus (and counting) tweets began at about 5:30 p.m. ET, where she attempted to both insult President Trump and defend herself.
In her first tweet, and without any evidence, Warren made the outlandish claim that Trump “makes creepy physical threats about me.” The truth is that all Trump has ever done is ridicule her false claims about being Cherokee.
Democrat strategist and president of the Center for American Progress (CAP) Neera Tanden declared Tuesday that Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s (D-MA) DNA test results — which revealed, at most, 1.6% Mesoamerican heritage — end the debate about her claimed Cherokee lineage once and for all.
“No reasonable member of the press or the public should have further questions,” Tanden told Annie Linskey, a Warren groupie whose Boston Globe report on the DNA test results continued a campaign to legitimize the senator’s 2020 presidential aspirations. “It sort of ends this conversation and we can all move on from here.”
Then we will be left with a two tiered system of justice making us no different from all those countries in history where the elite became elite (or princes, or lords, or dukes, or czars, or kings) by audacity, strength and theft but remained so powerful that their societies simply adapted around that reality for the time remaining for those societies.

Speaking of Pieces, Clarice, we got a chuckle this summer when I commented to Mrs. OL that I used to keep track of the days of the week by seeing which way the Gulfstreams were flying. If they were landing, it was Friday. If they were taking off to the South, it was Monday. With Pieces, I knew it was Sunday. With those three data points I could stay on track all week with no watch and no calendar.
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R., S.C.) announced Tuesday he would take a DNA test to find out if he had more Cherokee blood than Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D., Mass.).
Graham told "Fox & Friends" that he heard his grandmother was part Cherokee, so he would take the test and then reveal the results live on the show in a few weeks.
"You're going to find out in a couple weeks," Graham said. "I'm going to take this test … I'm taking it, and the results are going to be revealed here. This is my Trump moment. This is reality TV."
Graham quipped he was "dying to know."
Warren drew mockery from conservatives after a test's analysis released Monday showed her Native American ancestor could go back as many as 10 generations and thus make her as as little as 1/1,024th Native American.
I think multiple people are going to get away with criminal behavior.

In the movie I'm watching Trump doesn't let corruption like that go unpunished. He doesn't want his supporters to think he is an incompetent wussy too scared to drain the Swamp.
Pocahontas (the bad version), sometimes referred to as Elizabeth Warren, is getting slammed. She took a bogus DNA test and it showed that she may be 1/1024, far less than the average American. Now Cherokee Nation denies her, “DNA test is useless.” Even they don’t want her. Phony!
Now that her claims of being of Indian heritage have turned out to be a scam and a lie, Elizabeth Warren should apologize for perpetrating this fraud against the American Public. Harvard called her “a person of color” (amazing con), and would not have taken her otherwise!
The problem with Graham’s stunt is that standard tests like 23 and Me disregard anything less than 2 percent. That’s why Lizzie had to have a customized private test. I’m guessing she first did one of those commercial tests and didn’t like the outcome. He would have to have Bustamente do the test.
OL While you were gone,
People here were making the case that it is better that the FISA applications and McCabe memos will be better for us revealed after the midterms.
All the redacted information would be lost in the midterm emphasis.
Oh well everyone has an opinion.
Oh and according to TomR Mueller and Rosenstein are still working with Trump.
The ad, which was in the form of an open letter, listed women who were victims of sexual assault or domestic violence, saying they were standing up to Rep. Kevin Cramer who downplayed accusations by Christine Blasey Ford, who accused Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault, saying he forced himself on her more than three decades ago.
Mr. Cramer supported the president’s pick for the high court, while Ms. Heitkamp did not.
“We are here to let you know that we have all suffered from domestic violence, sexual assault, or rape — and that yes, we expect somebody to believe us when we say it. Because it happened,” the open letter to Mr. Cramer reads.
But Eve Lancaster, one of the 127 women listed on the bottom of the letter, took to Facebook to cry foul.
“To whom ever decided it was ok to put my name in this ‘open letter’ for the Bismarck Tribune and possibly other newspapers for this Heitkamp campaign for sexual harrassment, I am DISGUSTED. I did not give any sort of permission for you to put my name in this. I’m FURIOUS,” she posted on Monday evening.
Kady Miller, who is also listed on the letter, commented on Ms. Lancaster’s post saying she didn’t know how her name was on there either.
“I never commented about anything to do with domestic violence and I don’t even support Heidi Heitkamp!!” she posted.
According to the North Dakota GOP, at least four women have come forward complaining about their names being listed.

IIRC that was CH and Beasts making that point. It's a valid point thanks to the amazing benefit of the Kavanaugh hearings. I don't think anyone predicted how crazed and unhinged the Democrats would behave and in turn repel swing voters in the direction of the GOP in the magnitude that occurred.
At this point thanks to the Kavanaugh hearings I don't know if its even possible to gain an electoral bounce from an October Surprise related to Spygate. Voter enthusiasm is at a record high for a midterm and voters already informed about the issues surrounding Spygate have already made their decision on who to vote for.
I ran across this colum by a guy I follow on Twitter. If he is right, there is a strategic roll-out plan on this scandal. With all of the Warren hoopla yesterday,I didn't see anything about this document dump.
Old Lurker and maryrose, take a look at this and see what you think.
(I hope this works. I had to create a new url because the original one would not post here, and on top of that I had to hand type the new one!)
Maryrose, I saw all those opinions and elected to remain quiet for two reasons: 2000+ posts on an iPad with no Killfile is no fun; and you all knew what I thought anyway. :-)
It is all about the timing and Trump's confidence.
If he is sure he keeps Congress, then delaying the hammer becomes wonderful fodder for the next two years leading up to 2020.
But if he loses either house, I will never be convinced that one of the major reasons was allowing a Trump run DoJ, and a Trump run FBI, and a Trump run CIA/DIA/NSA slow walk (or not walk) the promised return to Equal Justice for All under the Constitution.
If it does turn out that the Brits were as deeply involved as they seem to be, then that really does complicate things. There actually may not be any optimum solution.
"If it does turn out that the Brits were as deeply involved as they seem to be, then that really does complicate things. There actually may not be any optimum solution."
We "knew" this back even before the election, and we suspected the Germans were in on it too. And probably others too.
My sentiments as well. Much as I would like this to be a "round them all up and throw the book at them" situation, I have been concerned with the complications if the British government was involved.
This stuff is complicated, and you cannot solve it with a few high-profile arrests. Trump doesn't even have a good way of gauging the loyalty of all of the people in the White House.
People who are in cahoots include the TV networks, the press, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, many large corporations, government employee unions, and Hollywood. That is a formidable list of enemies,
I reman hopeful, and I have to admit I would have no idea how to tackle this, so I am just watching.
More than 1,300 alumni of St. Lawrence University in New York signed onto a letter saying Collins “lack[s] the integrity and commitment to justice that we expect from the St. Lawrence body.”
“We ask that the University revoke this honorary degree as we find that she is not deserving of it in the face of her recent actions. We ask the university to do this in support of truth and for all of the victims of sexual assault and violence, of which many of her fellow alumni and students have suffered,” the letter read, in part.
Knowing it and blowing it up publicly to the degree where one is forced to do something about are not the same thing. When governments can fall and aliliances can be broken, one must carefully weigh all the consequences. Setting the situation up where one can also down the downside would be the optimum solution, but also not easily attainable.
You mean like the Anti-Brexit British leaders, and the Open Borders Anti-Brexit German leaders too? Once Obama made it OK to mix politics with spy tools for the greater good, who would ever expect European leaders to not say "well it is about damn time the Yanks came around?"
Yes tamimi is Hamas leading spokesperson in the UK, he also met with his some dodgy folks in Algeria 1992, which was a dress rehearsal for not so in 2010.
Derwill "When governments can fall and aliliances can be broken, one must carefully weigh all the consequences. "
a) duh.
b) would have been nice if those co-conspirator countries had looked at those risks before throwing in with the Obama world view.
c) At the end of the day, the great value of Trump is being able to show HIS citizens the actual state of the world inside and outside our borders, what powers of evil surround us on all sides and intend to take us down, and then ask "which fork in the road do we take?" (I think since this election is a referendum on Trump, if in spite of his huge results especially on economic fronts, the voters vote for the other road, then that settles it.)
d) It is obvious that thew cancer among our own citizens and our own government has spread almost to the point of no return, and anybody who has not suspected that same disease is even more advanced in other countries has not been paying attention.
OL you seem to think that simply releasing the unredacted FISA documents would guarantee a GOP win in the mid-terms. Whereas I think the whole plot is so complicated and so much of it still unproven at this point that the MSM would have been able to simply ignore it or spin it away.
I never realized that the population of Oceania had grown so. 1,000+ alumni clearly abandoning any semblance of the truth; Harvard caught with their pudding in the wringer; Fakajawea having the cigar blow up in her face; Stormy back to pulling $50 tricks to pay her legal expenses.
And through all of the the media and the Party look like complete and utter fools. Release that report Mr Mueller. C'mon!
The only thing that could top this is a couple of deep state indictments.
Derwill, I grant you it is complicated to off the charts levels, and probably widely and more deeply than anyone ever imagined. Probably including Trump.
But you are putting words in my mouth that I ever said "simply releasing the unredacted..." would accomplish what I want. I want nothing less than the restoration of Justice and the Rule of Law and the certainty that they both apply - with utter transparency - to everybody in time to be noticed and accepted just as envisioned in our founding documents.
If we cannot provide that, first and foremost and before all else, for our own citizens, then there is zero chance that we can demand that from allies or enemies abroad.
This has been my position since before Jan 20, 2017, expressed almost daily ad nauseum since :-), so arguing for some memo to be released last month is a trifle.
I.Don't.Care.if the Euros who cooperated with Obama in this are named . It's time the whole mess was exposed. I leave it to a far better strategist than I-DJT--to decide when,
As for Lindsey Graham he's dead wrong. In my eyes whoever did away with Kashoggi did us a favor. If it was Salman good for him. You cannot complain about Saudi support for terrorism and then cut them off when they are trying hard to staunch it.

One thing this guy points out, which none of us brought up here, is that Rosenstein meeting on Air Force One means that he and the President were in the most secure SCIF there is. I think most of us were simply looking at it as a sign of approval.

Clarice,
I have no sympathy for the Brits involved in this, but there are NATO considerations and other national security at risk if Britain perpetrated an acto of war on this country. I consider the overthrow of a duly elected president an act of war.
I don't care about Khashoggi, either, since he was obviously an enemy. He was a foreign national in a foreign country, and the Washington Post can stuff it.

OL Lives!
I am back in Potomac and NOT happy about that.

When battlefields that do not funnel billions of dollars to our enemies exist why continue to use their funnel? Their power very largely rests on the half of America they despise using them. One person leaving is nothing of course. A flood is something else.

If he is sure he keeps Congress, then delaying the hammer becomes wonderful fodder for the next two years leading up to 2020.

a) duh.
b) would have been nice if those co-conspirator countries had looked at those risks before throwing in with the Obama world view.
c) At the end of the day, the great value of Trump is being able to show HIS citizens the actual state of the world inside and outside our borders, what powers of evil surround us on all sides and intend to take us down, and then ask "which fork in the road do we take?" (I think since this election is a referendum on Trump, if in spite of his huge results especially on economic fronts, the voters vote for the other road, then that settles it.)
d) It is obvious that thew cancer among our own citizens and our own government has spread almost to the point of no return, and anybody who has not suspected that same disease is even more advanced in other countries has not been paying attention.
