The Burkman/Wohl stage show missing their Mueller accuser met or exceeded the clown show expectations.
However, it is interesting to see the complete suspension of critical thinking once the media has picked a side:
Without an in-person accuser, Wohl and Burkman instead offered a signed affidavit from her that claimed Mueller raped her in a New York hotel room on Aug. 2, 2010.
No other evidence was given, aside from a print-out Wohl had distributed that noted Mueller had been in New York on Aug. 5, 2010. Left unsaid: That was three days after the alleged attack.
Additionally, they accused Mueller’s team of “leaking” a Washington Post story that undermined their tale. The report showed Mueller was in Washington on Aug. 2 serving a jury duty summons.
Oh, gotcha! The trip from Washington to New York takes, hmm, not days. Hours, actually. And jury duty for the head of the FBI? He'll be dismissed in five minutes, won't he?
Well, yes he will, per the story cited:
Robert Mueller dutifully doing his jury duty in D.C. Superior Court on Monday. The FBI director (with an ear-pieced security guy in tow) made it all the way into the jury box for voir dire on a gun-possession case and got a warm smile from the judge ... but he was quickly excused (the "work in law enforcement?" question seemed to do it).
Obviously that doesn't prove Mueller was in New York but being in DC in the morning hardly proves he was not in NYC that evening.
Well. The accuser was named but did a no-show. Has she been approached for her story?
Disbelieve all women!
MORE: A comprehensive and convincing Burkman/Wohl basher from John McCormack of TWS. But he mentions the "problematic" jury duty point second, after the no-show witness."

Good morning!
Polls are garbage. Look at this:
261 registered voters the week before the election, are you kidding me?
NYT/Siena again. 75% of House prognostication is based on the work of a single polling firm. Meanwhile prognosticators ignore hard early voting data.
Hell of a slender limb, folks.
Expect a lot of "what if the Reps hold the House?" stories in the next couple of days.

Porch-that's my district and we have turned the ringer off the land line to avoid the polling. I don't think that's unusual.
McBath doesn't even live in the district and has been voting and has her vehicles registered in Tennessee. Oprah's visit to cobb yesterday though to help stacey abrams and get suburban women out for her affects this race because part of the district is in cobb.
With cobb's taxes, homesteading a house you weren't living in will not play well.

Let Dems try phony charges of obstruction on the FISA warrant and explain the need for redaction in the first place. That is why I think Trump is holding off on the release. Jimmy since I see you here, a few more answers to your "why so many vacant stores" question.
It used to be that the retail industry could calculate how many stores a given population in a given radius could support. So just so many drug stores and pizza parlors in a "neighborhood" center; just so many supermarkets and big boxes in "community" centers, and just so many stores of various types in big malls. It was quite scientific.
Amazon changes every single one of those ratios until you get down to the convenience needs in a neighborhood center. But even there only X number of nail salon can be supported, etc.
In spite of that generational tectonic shift that next day - same day deliveries from Amazon created, the "city fathers" still want the street levels of all office buildings to be "retail" not office, whether the developer wants it or not. So the government in effect forces an over supply (even by pre-Amazon ratios) of retail in exchange for each office building approved. Ouch.
Two things make it "look" OK as that happens. First, the developer can usually insert major cash into his construction loan so that when the building is built, he can "buy" a tenant with free cash for build-outs, and much reduced rent for the first year or two. That lure will often attract a tenant because his capital needs are so low for the first few years...but eventually the freebies run out and the tenant has to make it in the real world. Which they can't because there are too many stores per the above. Getting rid of a non payment tenant can take several years during which time the store sits empty and neighbors don't understand why.
The second thing that happens is all that cash can lure a viable business away from a viable location, and the new landlord benefits but the old landlord is stuck with a new vacancy which is hard to fill because there are too many stores. Etc etc.
Finally, to your question "why not just reduce the rent", two reasons: first, the rent is not that big a factor in the budgets of many businesses so the demand does not respond very quickly to marginal reductions in asking rents. The second reason is that the value of the entire property is determined by the face amount of the rents, and believe it or not appraisers might place a higher total value on a development that has a token amount of retail getting say $75 per foot and they will impute that to the vacant space or two in that building or next door. If the Landlord gets tired of it and signs a lease for say $40 just to have a tenant, that new rent of $40 becomes the comp used to evaluate the entire project. See how that works?

"It is different this time" is our favorite laugh line...even when we are saying it ourselves to those bankers!
Beasts, yes. In our area plain vanilla strip centers but in stable hoods get $40-50 PSF pretty routinely with older leases dragging them down into the mid $30s (we get even with them when their leases come to the end of the term then we bump them to the current levels). Really nice strips in really nice hoods get $75 without much trouble.

Take the total number of points Bama beats LSU by this weekend, divide that number by 10, and that will be how much the GOP beats the Democrats by. For example, if Bama beats LSU by 33 points, then the overall generic vote breakdown will be R +3.3% points.

Who is Serpenthead?

Beasts, ten years ago our "passthrough expenses" which retail tenants had to pay (taxes, insurance, outside lights, trash, snow removal) were around $5 PSF. This year our number is $12 PSF. (That is on top of the Base Rents we were talking about above.) The government sets the taxes, the government taxes the electric company for certain users, the government imposed surcharges on dumping fees for commercial trash and demand recycling. My snow guy just went up by inflation, but every line item that Arlington County has a hand in thinks all money from rich landlords is "free". When my tenants complain about their rent, I tell them to call the County Board.
