The Burkman/Wohl stage show missing their Mueller accuser met or exceeded the clown show expectations.
However, it is interesting to see the complete suspension of critical thinking once the media has picked a side:
Without an in-person accuser, Wohl and Burkman instead offered a signed affidavit from her that claimed Mueller raped her in a New York hotel room on Aug. 2, 2010.
No other evidence was given, aside from a print-out Wohl had distributed that noted Mueller had been in New York on Aug. 5, 2010. Left unsaid: That was three days after the alleged attack.
Additionally, they accused Mueller’s team of “leaking” a Washington Post story that undermined their tale. The report showed Mueller was in Washington on Aug. 2 serving a jury duty summons.
Oh, gotcha! The trip from Washington to New York takes, hmm, not days. Hours, actually. And jury duty for the head of the FBI? He'll be dismissed in five minutes, won't he?
Well, yes he will, per the story cited:
Robert Mueller dutifully doing his jury duty in D.C. Superior Court on Monday. The FBI director (with an ear-pieced security guy in tow) made it all the way into the jury box for voir dire on a gun-possession case and got a warm smile from the judge ... but he was quickly excused (the "work in law enforcement?" question seemed to do it).
Obviously that doesn't prove Mueller was in New York but being in DC in the morning hardly proves he was not in NYC that evening.
Well. The accuser was named but did a no-show. Has she been approached for her story?
Disbelieve all women!
MORE: A comprehensive and convincing Burkman/Wohl basher from John McCormack of TWS. But he mentions the "problematic" jury duty point second, after the no-show witness."

Yes, Jack, it went to 82 games after Red retired and had been at 80 or 81 since 1961. Adding rounds to the playoffs is where the game totals exploded; I can remember the championship being decided in April.
Red only coached the Celtics for 16 years and coached at Washington and somewhere else before Boston.

an abacus would have been an improvement over Vista.
I probably should let this go, but Vista here worked really well. Of course I installed it by hand on a custom-built computer, but Vista itself was very good.
I've no idea what the factory-installed versions were like.

CH,
As a 12 year old I got to meet Red at Plattsburgh AFB where my dad was Deputy Commander. They used the gym at SUNY-Plattsburgh for training and a game against Dolph Schayes and the Nats. I got to meet Cousy, Sharman, Heinsohn, and Russel. I was gobsmaked. How much so? Never even though about an autograph. Sigh.

Good afternoon! The dog was out on the lanai and doing his squeaky "I see something" bark. We have bunnies hopping around,so I ignored the barking until hubby said "look at this." A big turtle was crawling around the lawn just outside the lanai screen. Ha. The turtle was moving pretty fast, for a turtle. Maybe Florida turtles move faster.

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/elections/24-million-early-voting-ballots-already-counted-more-2014-n929421
As of Wednesday, 43 percent of early voters are Republican and 41 percent are Democrats. At this point in 2016, 43 percent of early voters were Democrats and 40 percent were Republicans.
How can anyone predict a 30+ seat gain by the Democrats based on these numbers?

How about English Leather, Ext.?
That just triggered a memory cell I hadn't used in 30+ years.
When I was a teenager my Sunday school class always exchanged gifts for Christmas. Everyone would bring a gift to give and you would randomly get one in return.
In the early 1970s someone brought some English Leather to give as a gift. That started a tradition of whoever got the English Leather would never use it and instead regift it to someone else the following year. I got the gift in the late 70s. It had been opened at some point so I smelled it. That was some nasty stuff.

Earlier this week, several school officials called the Tribune to question both the value of Hartley’s appearance and the unusually covert way the university promoted it (none agreed to speak on the record)…
The event did not appear on the university’s online events calendar and, unlike many events, was not made known to the press. It was promoted only on the digital signs on campus.
Gow noted that, during a lunch with Hartley and a group of students and faculty on Thursday, he did receive some blowback for the booking.

Tom R, it makes me wonder what else they have on Sessions.
Based on Sessions' impeccable character my guess is absolutely nothing.
If Sessions was a target of the illegal surveillance, then he and Trump are both fully aware of it. That should confirm with 100% certainty that Trump's public criticisms of Sessions for recusing himself is nothing but kabuki theater.

Umm, Christian Tradition has it that the men of Sodom didn't hate the strangers(angels) they wanted to get to know them, in the Biblical sense:
Peter Beinart writes in The Forward:
It happened on Parshat Vayera. The worst anti-Semitic attack in American history occurred while Jews around the world were reading the Torah portion that tells the story of Lot, an immigrant.
Lot moves to Sodom, and prospers there. The Midrash says he becomes a judge. His daughters intermarry with the locals. Then one day, while sitting at the gates of the city, the assimilating immigrant sees two strangers approach. He asks them to “spend the night and bathe your feet”— the Midrash says he learned to welcome strangers from his uncle Abraham, the first Jew. Lot “prepares them a feast.”
But in Sodom, the natives hate strangers. “Where are the men who came to you tonight?” they demand. “Bring them out to us.” Lot tries to protect his guests. “I beg you friends,” he implores, “do not commit such a wrong.” For the men of Sodom, however, this just underscores Lot’s foreignness. He hasn’t really assimilated; he isn’t one of them. He’s a threat. “The fellow came here an immigrant and already acts the ruler,” they declare. “Now we will deal worse with you than with them.”..
. . . For Jews, the lesson of yesterday’s massacre is very simple and very old: Protecting the strangers among us is not charity. It is self-defense. Every time Jews defend the right of American Muslims to follow sharia, we protect our right to follow halacha. Every time Jews reject politicians who demonize Latinos we make it less likely that those politicians will demonize us. “Hate them, not us” is a losing strategy because once empowered, bigots widen their targets. For people who define America as a white Christian nation, Jews will never be white enough.

Tom R:
"How can anyone predict a 30+ seat gain by the Democrats based on these numbers?"
Regardless of whether or not these midterms are cast as a referendum on Trump, there are still a lot of imponderables in local House races that overall numbers just can't don't identify. That's why everybody is pretty comfortable predicting Republican pick-ups in the Senate, but not quite so sure of themselves wrt to the house. A local rumor or a specific hot button local issue can easily change the dynamics of a race, and buck the national trend.
Posted by: JMHanes | November 02, 2018 at 05:20 PM
It should be instructive to those pushing the Biblical narrative that Lot offered his daughters to the men of Sodom as sexual favors so they might lose interest in the strangers(angels).
Lot's main downfall was turning towards the bright lights of town and surrounding his family with Sodom and Gomorrah's Godless decadence.

JMH,
I fully understand when it comes to the House the adage "all politics is local" applies. The point is based on quantifiable early voting numbers the GOP is doing better in 2018 than they did in 2016 when they lost some seats but still maintained control of the House.

"[I]n this case, the president is trying to manufacture a bit of a racist October surprise. He views the shooting at the synagogue in Pittsburgh a major inconvenience"
I really despise these people who tell us with complete self-assurance what Trump is thinking and feeling, and impute all the worst possible motives to him in everything he does.
It's the progs who think of Mexicans as the "brown people," and talk about them that way, not folks on the right. The progs think they're the good guys, so they obviously can't be racists. Sheesh. It's like everybody's got a label stuck to their foreheads, they're brown, or they're Jewish, or they're wearing white privilege hats. This whole cultural appropriation brouhaha is a natural outgrowth of approaching everyone as having an assigned rung on the victim's ladder, and presumed to want to protect that rung from encroachment by some other demographic group.
The predictable result is the cultural apartheid which is increasing before our very eyes.
In any case, It sounds to me like Brian Fallon, whoever the hell he is is the one who sees the Pittsburgh shooting as an inconvenient interruption in the narrative.
I still don't see how anybody can call Trump a nazi/anti-semite when he's got a Jewish son-in-law, Jewish grandchildren and a daughter who converted. How does that math even work?
I was going to borrow Ace's Rant-o-Rilla, but Photobucket is doing a forced update, and says they'll send me an email when it's done, which will will be sent to an inbox I only check on a different computer. In the meantime, I decided to add Photobucket to my dictionary, but apparently Chrome doesn't use my dictionary and can't be taught to spell. It also insists it knows better than I do when I should be using capital letters. Man I hate 'em all!
