A vicious accuser of Justice Kavanough has just admitted that she was lying, her story was totally made up, or FAKE! Can you imagine if he didn’t become a Justice of the Supreme Court because of her disgusting False Statements. What about the others? Where are the Dems on this?
Yes, daddy - I noticed even the Daily Mail had no photos of Judy. I guess we can all use our imagination of how a 70-year-old professor with those moral standards and mental outlook might appear.
Do you think if she were a Republican who had pulled such a stunt the cameras of CNN/MSNBC/CBS/ABC etc. etc. would be camped out in front of her home and office? Hmmmm...
Bret Stephens notwithstanding, the real question is why the Republicans aren't 20 points ahead in every race. It appears that Serpenthead's law, "It's the economy, stupid" has been repealed or has been suspended, if the polls are to be believed.
Big "if." (I remain cautiously optimistic--how's that for going out on a limb!)
One thing about the progs and their mind-numbed followers--they still see the economy as a zero sum thing. Thus they can block out the undeniable facts that more--lots more-- people have jobs, are getting raises, are coming off the unemployment rolls, are paying taxes, etc. because they know, in their unshakeable cores, that the money is being taken away from someone else who deserves it more.
That this is readily disproven nonsense is beside the point.
"Beto O'Rourke spends $18M on consultancy firm despite promising not to hire any consultants"
I dreamed about this fraud last night. Who would even have the nerve to go up to someone and say

Alec Baldwin, 60, my foe, my secret, guilty crush,
Seriously? That gross, untalented buffoon? Why not just go all in in lust on whoever drives your garbage truck. Maybe it is just me but I so misperceive this guy as having any "talent" at all.
Veracruz Gov. Miguel Angel Yunes announced the offer Friday.
At the same time, 1,000 U.S. troops had deployed to the southern border with Mexico at various locations, Fox News confirmed.
“It is very important that they be able to move soon from Veracruz toward another place,” Yunes said. “For that reason, we also offered them transportation so that, if possible, tomorrow ... they may be able to go to Mexico City or to the place they wish.”
Yunes said dozens of buses would be available.
“We are all going!” a caravan organizer told the group.
But then Yunes reversed himself, saying that because Mexico City’s water system was undergoing maintenance and much of the city would be without water over the weekend, it would not be correct to send the migrants there.
“I want to offer the migrants that while this problem is being resolved they accept my invitation to go to a city in Veracruz” that has the conditions to host them, he said.
Schilling is the best. I suspect that at some point he told John Henry that he wasn't ever going to show up for any PR stunt for them, which gave the Sox an excuse to not invite him, but that is pure speculation on my part.
He used to call in to the sports talk shows from his car while he was driving to Fenway and talk quite frankly about sports stuff--not politics--as "Kurt on the car phone". Very engaging and open.
I watched a few episodes of Seinfeld's Comedians in Cars thing on Netflix, which could have been called "Driving around with Liberals" and was only mildly amusing. The one guy who was actually quite funny was Alec Baldwin, mainly because he made no pretense of being anything other than a cynical prick.
1. They handed out those signs and everyone wanted one to wave! I brought home 3 as souvenirs. Most people took theirs home, too.
2. Before the President came out they had two very attractive girls in dresses and heels come out and throw Trump hats to the crowd. There were already a LOT of people in the red hats, but these were extras.
3. My sister leaned over and said, "You know (insert name of our democrat sister here)got to go see Michelle Obama. Of course, she had to PAY to get in."
Repeatedly interrupted by hecklers, Obama asked, "Why is it that the folks that won the last election are so mad all the time?"
Because you tried to overturn our constitutional republic and appoint your hag of a successor?
Because your pals shoot us and hit us with bike locks?
Because you smear with despicable lies anyone who opposes you?
Because you're always giving us the finger while doing the above and then lecturing us on civility?
The ones who are not evil Marxists are completely corrupt.
And nobody ever seems to question how these lifetime "public servants" end up as multimillionairres.
I stupidly did not bring my sign home from the August 2016 rally, MM. Have no idea what I was thinking. I think it was something superstitious about jinxing the outcome.
Seriously? That gross, untalented buffoon? Why not just go all in in lust on whoever drives your garbage truck. Maybe it is just me but I so misperceive this guy as having any "talent" at all.
Apologies to Garbage Truck drivers. One of our boy's wives fell in-love with the Garbage truck Driver and ran off with him so I feel for garbage Truck drivers:( You'll recall that when "Doc" Mahoney's wife ran off with the Doctor he earned the nickname "Doc", ergo under the old rules my buddies new nickname ought'a be "Garbage" but who knows nowadays).
Anyhow our demoralized boy, "Garbage'" mooned for ages with the Osaka Jap ramp agent, Shitska, (cute as pie and skinny as a whistle, but she would drag you out where they were eating that Jap sushi that would poison you if they cut it incorrectly. "Garbage" dated her for a while but then she ran off with another one of our other guys who was living on a mountaintop outside Tucsan, and don't get me started on her relationship to the 4 Million dollar sunrise/sunset location on Maui and the consequences of that failed love affair.
We of course were all in love with Shitska, regardless of her name:), so I don't think that gives much insight into garbage truck drivers, and I hope my comments upon them haven't been misinterpreted as "Dog Whistles" to the gallery of White Supremacist Nationalist's hanging out here on Trump's every word.
Shitska, BTW, was the gal who demanded I visit this Kyoto Monastery in Winter once the snow had fallen: Ryuanji --- I visited the place with our Gay Buddhist gal Captain, just after her serving as foreman of some Seattle Murder trial, and authoring the foreword of a book printed by the Smithsonian, about her grandfather ripping off the Natives and his Swedish partner in 1929 of hundreds of thousands of profits in the Fur Trade in their Iliamna Rod House Trading Post. She was looking for Karmic closure and a snowy Ryoangi did the trick. Om nom yo rim gay kyoo.
My favorite part about CNN denying Trump’s ad is that they then proceeded to give it so much coverage for being “racist” that it gave Trump free advertising and reached more people than it would have if they just ran it.
@ Daddy: Harry is a METS fan (keep him in your prayers). He used to do a lot of sports writing and covered a few key Red Sox games. Also he once took batting practice from Wade Boggs for Sports Magazine -- a real humiliation as I recall.

I call attention to it because the Walton Family Foundation is the financial sponsor of this. THat would be open pushing of the prog agenda by walton. I have heard speakers from this group on more than one occasion.
I am reposting because it is a worthwhile read, and it is unusual in that the text is easily understandable and initially absent political opinion. Makes one wonder why the early universe would have ordered itself on non-political principles.
An hour after sunrise in Belgrade, MT. The line to get into the fourth @realDonaldTrump rally in the state this election cycle is more than a quarter mile long. One man at the front of the line said he got here at 4am.
People are not going to stand in line for hours, like MM did, and in Belgrade above, and not vote. Something the political scientists, the media, polling firms, and the Dems just don't seem to understand.
Greetings from sunny Scottsdale. Hanging out with my old boss from 48 yrs ago when I first got out of school, back in my crashing cars and airplanes era. Tonight we go to my HS reunion. By now it’s getting small enough that we are holding it in the back of a Mexican restaurant. Heh.
For having left the Valley 46 yrs ago and only visited the area briefly since, I’m blown away by how sparkly fresh and upscale it is. Like the tonier neighborhoods in LA maybe 30 yrs ago before the deadbeats left a shitty pallor on the whole area. I’ve seen more exotic high end cars in one afternoon that ten trips to Bellevue where they mostly show up in Seattle.
Not much indication of elections in view. Only comment my boss said was a snort about McSally being a ‘fighter pilot’. He always considered the Warthog more of a marginal flying tank. (Before you jump on him for that snark, keep in mind he has spent his career making military aircraft safer beyond almost anything a shop his size could have done.)
On a more recent note, his little group were all invited to go over to Yuma to watch the Orion craft get yanked out the back of a C-17 at FL350 to test its landing capabilities. They developed some energy absorbers used in the external support assy.
Off tomorrow down to Tucson for a couple days. Hope to get some shooting done with a couple old pals.
A friend of mine, who just got back from Hawaii, had her Medicare consulting appointment yesterday. The gal she had to see was lte 20's-early 30's.
So, my friend mentioned that she normally doesn't talk politics at work, but she did comment on having tickets to the rally but didn't know if she had the stamina to attend, having been on a plane almost all of Wednesday. She did say she thought it was neat to have a sitting President speaking at her kids' high schoo.
So the girl talked about how she thought Trump was doind a great job., Then she asked my friend if she was going to vote in the "special electioin." My friend asked if she was talking about the midterms. Yes.
THEN it turns out the girl wasn't going to vote because SHE THOUGHT YOU HAD TO REGISTER BEFORE EVERY ELECTION!
My friend corrected her and convinced her to go vote.
How many young people think this way? When I was in high school we were taught election rules, including registration. In addition, there were public service ads explaining registration and voting.
Here's a thread detailing the airport rally in Huntington, West Virginia yesterday. It's pretty neat and shows how organized the Trump people are. (They wee organized where we were as well.)
Here is a thread on Trump's midterm strategy, and it's well worth reading.
You may have noticed Mike Braun only said about 4 sentences last night. I told my sister that it was smart, because he realized no one was really there to see HIm. They were there for Trump.
Well, for the first time in a few weeks, one of my comments actually stayed up on typepad for more than five minutes. Morning everyone. Last night we went to see a local band that specializes in New Orleans based music. They did a cover of this:
With apologies for self- indulgently hi-jacking a football thread, although one could argue this is about football at a galactic level....
daddy:
The passage you quoted about the Milky Way cannibalizing another galaxy sent me back to a poem, on an epic model, about Poseidon which I started writing years ago. It commences, as all such poetry does, with the beginning of the universe. Fans of Greek & Roman writers will recognize many of the terms, and if anyone spies any scientific errors in my conflation of science & mythology, pls let me know. 1928 refers to the year an arm of the famous Poseidon statue in the Athens Museum was pulled from the sea.
Habeas Corpus, 1928
We fix a number to the rose-red dawn
Of time: one trillion, six hundred
Seventy-nine billion, seven hundred
Twenty-eight thousand, five hundred
And thirty-four suns ago, roughly,
And by no sweet act of love,
Earth was fruited from the cold.
The very day before there was a day
Chaos, whose bold rounded lips
Mouth eternally receeding questions,
Yawned; Gaia, the infant mother,
Opened her eyes and screamed, her birth
No issuing forth, but a sucking in
Of unimaginable proportion.
The bang dynamic, in reverse:
A gleaming interstellar arc is jostled
By a super-nova’s wave, perhaps,
A sigh, the why is Chaos, as two bits
Of dust push up against each other,
Fail to part, and, whispering consanguinity,
Insinuate a vast disorder in the stream.
Just so a slight corruption grows
Infectious, passion is by hunger seized.
Weight swallows weight, and matter feeds
On matter, is compressed, collides
And shatters; violent consummations
Traced in thermonuclear light
Attest an irresistible inward slide.
In the end, or the beginning, Gaia spins,
Cold gravid globe, her pit a frozen
Steely ball, Tartaros, so-called,
Whose nature is as yet obscure and
Strange, some say an anvil
Hurled into the deep did drop
Nine days before it came to rest.
Faint seismic echoes of the deed persist,
In troubling dreams, we plumb the dark,
Dense heart of iron, solid, unalloyed
Imprisonned in corrupt metallic flux,
Inchoately conductive, wanting only heat
To heave and go electric. Lo, enrapt
Above him, we the living seed
The mothering stone, placental mass
Of elemental rock and water, air, amino acids
And their kind, locked in meteoric carbon
Wanting only warmth and time to breed.
And comes the Heat! In splendour
Long forgotten, it is Eros, he who thaws
The hardest heart, the unyielding womb,
Whose lust, like light, makes all things
Possible. Pure searing aspiration,
Passion in primordial estate,
He fathers nothing, for he is but both
The catalyst of change and its result.
Forward of love, his asteroidal arrows pierce
The breast and melt the flesh of Gaia
From within. Twice born again she spins,
Molten, multilayered sphere, skin
Crusting over as the heat subsides,
Convection now the dynamo that drives
Creation outward from the core,
Calving continents and gods alike,
And men to entertain them there
Upon the shifting firmament between
The waters and the waters.
What's especially delightful is when the bunghole posts about four in a row and as you kill the first one, killfile lines the next one right up on his sour owl shit name and "blam" down goes Frazhuh, and then again and again.
Semi auto killfile. Almost as good as the real thing.

Other bits of stuff I noticed from last night:

Obama Campaigns: 'Do We Want a Politics Where People Are Yelling and Making Lewd Gestures?'

Because you tried to overturn our constitutional republic and appoint your hag of a successor?
Because your pals shoot us and hit us with bike locks?
Because you smear with despicable lies anyone who opposes you?
Because you're always giving us the finger while doing the above and then lecturing us on civility?

Says it all about Dem "leadership," doesn't it?
The ones who are not evil Marxists are completely corrupt.
And nobody ever seems to question how these lifetime "public servants" end up as multimillionairres.

I stupidly did not bring my sign home from the August 2016 rally, MM. Have no idea what I was thinking. I think it was something superstitious about jinxing the outcome.

Miss M - So happy that you finally got to go to one of Pres. Trump's rallies.
What a memorable day and great experience for you.
Glad you were able to get some souvenirs for posterity.

anonamom,
Thanks for posting that article on how we grew up.
I got to thinking and my mother didn't have memorable phrases - just The Look. That was what we got when we did somethig she didn't aprove of.
My dad DID have sayings, although, given his 5 years in the Armny and a lifetime of construction-type work, they were pretty colorful.
He's not worth a fart in a skillet.
That's not worth sour owl shit. (This one was used so often that my sister, my rally pal, sent me a cartoon she drew titled "The Sour Owl." LOL!

Shitska, BTW, was the gal who demanded I visit this Kyoto Monastery in Winter once the snow had fallen: Ryuanji ---
I visited the place with our Gay Buddhist gal Captain, just after her serving as foreman of some Seattle Murder trial, and authoring the foreword of a book printed by the Smithsonian, about her grandfather ripping off the Natives and his Swedish partner in 1929 of hundreds of thousands of profits in the Fur Trade in their Iliamna Rod House Trading Post. She was looking for Karmic closure and a snowy Ryoangi did the trick. Om nom yo rim gay kyoo.
Morning, Miss M:)

My favorite part about CNN denying Trump’s ad is that they then proceeded to give it so much coverage for being “racist” that it gave Trump free advertising and reached more people than it would have if they just ran it.

People are not going to stand in line for hours, like MM did, and in Belgrade above, and not vote. Something the political scientists, the media, polling firms, and the Dems just don't seem to understand.

Jack,
This is quite true. I cannot think of another public figure I would have undergone that ordeal for. Not one.
I early voted on Thursday. I didn't want to take a chance on my car not starting or some other emergency causing me to not be able to vote.

Speaking of voting, listen to this.
Public schools are not helping our youth!

With apologies for self- indulgently hi-jacking a football thread, although one could argue this is about football at a galactic level....
daddy:
The passage you quoted about the Milky Way cannibalizing another galaxy sent me back to a poem, on an epic model, about Poseidon which I started writing years ago. It commences, as all such poetry does, with the beginning of the universe. Fans of Greek & Roman writers will recognize many of the terms, and if anyone spies any scientific errors in my conflation of science & mythology, pls let me know. 1928 refers to the year an arm of the famous Poseidon statue in the Athens Museum was pulled from the sea.
Habeas Corpus, 1928
We fix a number to the rose-red dawn
Of time: one trillion, six hundred
Seventy-nine billion, seven hundred
Twenty-eight thousand, five hundred
And thirty-four suns ago, roughly,
And by no sweet act of love,
Earth was fruited from the cold.
The very day before there was a day
Chaos, whose bold rounded lips
Mouth eternally receeding questions,
Yawned; Gaia, the infant mother,
Opened her eyes and screamed, her birth
No issuing forth, but a sucking in
Of unimaginable proportion.
The bang dynamic, in reverse:
A gleaming interstellar arc is jostled
By a super-nova’s wave, perhaps,
A sigh, the why is Chaos, as two bits
Of dust push up against each other,
Fail to part, and, whispering consanguinity,
Insinuate a vast disorder in the stream.
Just so a slight corruption grows
Infectious, passion is by hunger seized.
Weight swallows weight, and matter feeds
On matter, is compressed, collides
And shatters; violent consummations
Traced in thermonuclear light
Attest an irresistible inward slide.
In the end, or the beginning, Gaia spins,
Cold gravid globe, her pit a frozen
Steely ball, Tartaros, so-called,
Whose nature is as yet obscure and
Strange, some say an anvil
Hurled into the deep did drop
Nine days before it came to rest.
Faint seismic echoes of the deed persist,
In troubling dreams, we plumb the dark,
Dense heart of iron, solid, unalloyed
Imprisonned in corrupt metallic flux,
Inchoately conductive, wanting only heat
To heave and go electric. Lo, enrapt
Above him, we the living seed
The mothering stone, placental mass
Of elemental rock and water, air, amino acids
And their kind, locked in meteoric carbon
Wanting only warmth and time to breed.
And comes the Heat! In splendour
Long forgotten, it is Eros, he who thaws
The hardest heart, the unyielding womb,
Whose lust, like light, makes all things
Possible. Pure searing aspiration,
Passion in primordial estate,
He fathers nothing, for he is but both
The catalyst of change and its result.
Forward of love, his asteroidal arrows pierce
The breast and melt the flesh of Gaia
From within. Twice born again she spins,
Molten, multilayered sphere, skin
Crusting over as the heat subsides,
Convection now the dynamo that drives
Creation outward from the core,
Calving continents and gods alike,
And men to entertain them there
Upon the shifting firmament between
The waters and the waters.

Semi auto killfile. Almost as good as the real thing.
