Illegal gifts from Tyson Foods and others (sports tix, etc) while he was Clinton Ag Secretary. He was found not guilty.

CH-I shop at WF fairly regularly for certain things like meats, goats milk yogurt, a certain kind of rice etc and rarely for produce for just that reason. It tends to have a poor shelf life, usually because it is organic.

I am not sure I would attribute it to bezos, but they sure do want me to sync my cell phone to my prime account to get discounts in return for what I recognize to be a lot of data. I have also noticed that the consumers who have done that seem to have not idea and slow down the line as it never reads their phone properly on the first or 2nd try.

Captain Hate

Does Tyson Foods ever make any legal contributions?

Captain Hate

Thanks, Robin.

TM's link as usual is behind the pYwall. As usual does it say anything other than "Orange man bad?"

Miss M,

On the tour today, when inside Notre Dame Cathedral I saw a machine advertising that if you stuck in a 2 Euro coin it would give in echange a gold colored coin, on one side St John Paul 2, but on the other side a smiling Pope Che. I pondered getting it for you and handing it over with John Pauls face showing and u smiling, and then having the camera out to catch your features as you flipped it over. I'm trying to get The Great Canadian Pub to see if they can turn on NASA TV instead of some stupid soccer game but so far am having no luck.

GUS

And SHE was found guilty of saying "PUBLIC HANGING".

So she is not worthy. Has FAT ASS RODHAM called us any new names recently. It's been several days since she slandered us.

Narciso79

She was acceptable as a Democrat till 2010, so it's like Georgia runoff 9 years ago.

They're afraid (ht) that trump will bring her over the finish line, and they can't steal another seat.

Narciso79

LOL on the coin! Glad you got them to turn on the TV. My feed is frozen up right now so will have to re-load.

It's interesting how many European scientists are involved in this. SO far, 2 Germans and a French guy.

I liked hearing the woman geologist talk about the volcanoes on Mars, which are much higher than mountains on Earth due to the lesser gravity. Very cool.

Simple observation, but worth commenting on. The reporters asking questions of the Mars Landing Team are polite and asking geniune questions for information instead of camera hogging for SJW cred. Why is that? How is it possible for reporters to simply be trying to gather pertinant info instead of trying to get across to viewers whatever Political persepective they represent? Do they need to go back to J-school for remediation courses in political obnoxiousness?

MissMarple2

Mississippi does not have the auto industry that Alabama has. Not much effect there. The automotive sector is in hangover mode right now after several 18 million unit+ years of sales.

My concern is that if we do have a recession in the middle future there is a huge amount of debt from this sector.

People don't realize how our manufacturing sector is now so dependent on automotive.

"Business and well-being"

Achieving sustainable and inclusive well-being in the coming years will mean leveraging the important role of non-state actors, and particularly the private sector, in shaping good outcomes for individuals, communities and societies. These sessions will discuss how a well-being and inclusive growth approach can be fully integrated into business models (OL's triple bottom line for MBA programs) and measurement frameworks, giving voice to business leaders who are setting a new course to foster more sustainable and people-minded strategies."

GOP Rep. Mia Love hits Trump in concession speech: He has ‘no real relationships’

Love narrowly lost her re-election bid to Democrat Ben McAdams earlier this month – and Trump was quick to call her out for not embracing him more on the campaign trail. As she conceded, Love said she was initially surprised Trump “took a jab at me,” but she later wondered “what did he have to gain by saying such a thing about a fellow Republican?”

“This gave me a clear vision of his world as it is: no real relationships, just convenient transactions,” Love said. “That is an insufficient way to implement sincere service and policy.”

Mia? Why was your election close?

good question, which nobody will ask her, naturally.

Another good question: why was there no national strategy from the GOP's congressional leadership?

Another question: why, when the President was crisscrossing the country trying to drag GOP candidates over the finish line, was Paul Ryan and everyone else on his team silent, except when they found time to criticize and undercut the President?

James D.

I recommend that President Trump issue White House Press passes to every reporter at the Mars Landing presser, and at the same time I want him to revoke every Press Pass to the White House of ever current White House Correspondent. Swap one gaggle for the other---America would benefit enormously on the informational side of the house, and NASA coverage would immediately tube.

https://mobile.twitter.com/emeraldrobinson?lang=en

DrJ

jimmyk,

The Volt is a hybrid: it uses a gas motor to charge the batteries if you go past its (modest) range. And at highway speeds, one uses both the gas motor and the electric ones.

The Bolt is their fully-electric model.

I always thought that the Volt was a clever design, but a transition one.

Narciso79

Malloch had a slin but well drafted volume on his experience

MissMarple2

http://jamiedupree.blog.daytondailynews.com/2018/11/26/president-trump-irked-by-general-motors-plant-closures/

This has quotes from the dems as well as an explanation.

Here is my explanation: Mary Barra withdrew from President Trump's economic advisory council. She sits on the boards of Disney and Stanford University. She is a Romney-type GOPer, if she isn't an actual dem.

I went looking for her donations but she gives them all to the GN Pac. However, I note the GM Pac supported Sherrod Brown.

jimmyk

Thanks, DrJ. A transition to fully electric? I've never been clear on the societal gains of either, in the sense of cost-benefit. (Which is a polite way of saying I think the cost-benefit is negative.)

Narciso79

As I said this morning, Lewandowski and bossie latest is pretty good. From his limited perspective.

Old Lurker

Jimmy "(Which is a polite way of saying I think the cost-benefit is negative.)"

But, but what about all that free government money and tax benefits. And don't they get enough Al Gore carbon credits to fly their Gulfstreams? And don't forget being able to park in spots even better than ADA and get free charges. Oh. And being able to drive in HOV lanes all by oneself.

Silly boy.

DrJ

jimmyk,

Yes, as transition to fully electric as batteries improved.

I too remain unconvinced by fully electrics, but they do offer an advantage that the emissions (neglecting manufacture and disposal) come from the utilities instead of many, many exhaust pipes. Now whether it is worth anything to remove CO2 from the power plants is another story.

Note that the Cruise and the Volt share the same platform. The Bolt is on a different one, I think.

Narciso79

Their perspective they point out that Bannon had found the hole in the bogus Russian diplomat ejection. The whole controversy with the leaked speeches, unlike Bannon who insists on making himself thr David stockman killjoy.
