Trump absolutely has the right, even the obligation, to suggest to his DOJ that lawbreakers be prosecuted.

OT, Vanity Fair thinks Sherrod Brown has a leg up on Warren and Bernie. Nothing could be a bigger blessing to Trump than to have a progressive weirdo like Brown (who, of course, was accused of extreme cruelty by an ex-spouse) at the top of the Dem ticket in 2020. Bring it!

Narciso79

Entinces, that would be following up on a campaign promise.

I have been noticing the Washington Post's efforts to drive a wedge between the US and Saudi Arabia.

The President's statement on this (with exclamation points, no less) has set the establishment into a tailspin. This is an excellent article by Mollie Hemingway explaining Trump's attitude about foreign policy.

Brown is the numbnuts that the Ohio GOP and their pet weasel, Josh Mandel, decided they can live with so gave as little support to Jim Renacci as possible without looking like they were against him. DJT would surely dispose of this hoarse voiced nickelfucking goof easily, but that doesn't take the locals off the hook.

--One thing we've learned from the redefining marriage battle is that state laws & state constitutional amendments are not enough to stop the left.--

It was SCOTUS and an expansive misreading of Federal civil rights pushed down through the unconstitutional incorporation doctrine that caused homosexual marriage to be forced down the whole country's throat.
The justification that until prog destruction of Federalism is ended the courts should indulge in our destruction of Federalism over things we don't like seems like the surest route to the permanent destruction of Federalism, not its restoration.
The political process as a means to restore the constitution will require decades of hard, incremental nuts and bolts work to succeed. That work will never happen by adopting prog anticonstitutionalism. We have to change the culture and in turn the political process.
If we're not willing to accept that then we should stop complaining and begin planning the Revolutionary War II, because I don't see any middle ground that leads to restoration.
We have been losing because for decades we have been playing defense instead of offense. The way to go on offense is to roll the constitution up around a piece of rebar and brain them with it not help them shred it.

Marlene

Good Morning! I have a few pre-Thanksgiving thoughts that are concerning. By mid-year,if not sooner, possibly dozens of Democrats are going to announce a run for president. I read in the Manchester Union Leader this morning that Corey Booker is scheduled to speak at a Democrat party function in NH on Dec.8. The media is going to amplify every anti-Trump word the Democrat candidates speak. The NH primary is in Feb.2020. 2019 will be *interesting.*

It's a tough call, because it ends up being heads they win, tails we lose. Conservatives adhere to principles and won't adopt the same "ends justifies the means" tactics that the left uses. And then we get judges who prevent Trump from exercising his constitutional powers as chief executive. I'd like to agree with Iggy, but it's surely tempting to fight back against the progs with the same weapons they use against us. In the meantime, getting good judges into the courts is a win-win.

The Infamous Ignatz

--I'd like to agree with Iggy, but it's surely tempting to fight back against the progs with the same weapons they use against us.--

That is accepting their choice of weapon on their home field. Good luck.
And it assumes a degree of good faith and high morality on our part that no one has. Just look at the hijacking of the Tea Party movement as an example.
America is exceptional not because of who we are but because of the institutions the founders created. Destroying them in order to save them should work about as well as it did in Viet Nam or in 2008 when W decided to abandon the free market to save it.

First, Melania Trump is a gift to the American people from the Almighty.

Second, the list of ProgTardo presidential "hopefuls" reminds me of the scrapings from a decommissioned sceptic tank. (Don't ask :D)

Third, POTUS is a non-stop promoter of his political philosophy, platform, and priorities. He is a walking political saw mill. The Dem hopefuls are going to spend almost 2 years withdrawing from the "race" from total humiliation.

Fourth, Rom-Rom is going to be coal-shoveled into political obscurity because he'll eat 2/3rds of his senate term campaigning for President. He's a weak politician. Need proof: six words--- The Bath House Rat, Candy Crowley.

Fifth, the McGahn story helps us the same way the Ivank Trump email story helps us---- Hillary in the news cycle for negative reasons. Bring it, Bezos Cabron.

Sharing one more offensive strategy for the campaign ahead. if we can bring 1 million conservatives together to share information, news, and political views--- uninterrupted by trolls and morons from the other side--- we can be a factor in 2020.

i think of it as an incorruptible Tea Party.

One of our business pursuits, one that Paw angel funded in 2011, is a video networking platform similar to YouTube minus the crap debris on every search.

It's private. It holds 20,000 members currently. Original use/intent Subject matter experts.

We're exploring with our developers the feasibility of setting up channels, so that we can expand our reach.

Plus add a few bells and whistles that will allow members to host their own simple blogs (which they can do now, but it needs upgrading to feature comment sections etc.)

Bottom line: setting up a private channel for registered conservative and independent conservative voters. Keep it private. $99 for a lifetime membership.

Purpose: a troll free (private by referral only and fee paid) environment, without censorship, or white supremacist-neo nazi types.

Working it out. The network upgrade won't have to happen all at once. But it will get continuous upgrades as our other business concerns will require more of the same over the next 5 years.

it's time for us to do something about Big Tech's wrecking crews.

the search engine for this network is scalable UP, and there is a live video comms tool that will be upgraded from 1 speaking with 6, to 1 to 100. adding recording and transcription options too for immediate content production capabilities. creating a phone app too for mobile devices.

okay. Happy Thanksgiving. We all must do what we can, right?

Jack is Back!

Well is the porn thread:

Jan, Sue, and Mary haven't seen each other since leaving school. They rediscover each other via Friends Reunited and arrange to meet.

Jan arrives first, wearing a beige Versace dress. She orders a bottle of Pinot Gris with three glasses.

Sue arrives shortly afterward, wearing a grey Chanel number. After the initial hugs and kisses she joins Jan in a glass of wine.

Then Mary walks in, wearing a faded old tee-shirt, blue jeans and boots. They all hug and she too shares the wine.

Jan explains that after leaving school and attending Oxford University she met and married Timothy, with whom she has a beautiful daughter. Timothy is a partner in one of London’s leading law firms. They live in a 4000 sq. ft. apartment on Park Lane and Susanna, the daughter, attends drama school.
They have a second home in Portugal .

Sue relates that she graduated from Cambridge University, studied to become a doctor and became a surgeon.
Her husband, Clive, is a leading financial investment banker in the City. They live in the Surrey stockbroker belt and have a second home in Italy .

Mary explains that after she left school at 17, she ran off with her boyfriend, Mark. They live in Essex where they grow their own vegetables and run a tropical bird park. Mark is such a hunk of a man he can stand five parrots side by side, on his erect penis.

A couple of hours later, after the third bottle of Pinot, Jan breaks down and blurts out that her husband is really a cashier at Tesco and they live in a small apartment in Bromley with a caravan parked on the front drive.

Sue, chastened by Jan's honesty, bursts into tears and admits that she and Clive are actually nursing care assistants in an old people’s home in Peckham. They live in a Council house and take camping holidays in Kent.

Mary finally cracks and admits that the fifth parrot has to stand on one leg.

Some questions that may come across as rhetorical but are not.

Assumptions first:

- Sessions was fired because his recusal prevented him from oversight of the Mueller SC investigation.
- Rosenstein was not elevated to Acting AG because Trump doesn't trust him due to Rosenstein being a corrupt Swamp/Deep Stater who appointed Mueller SC as a part of a ploy to destroy Trump.
- Mueller is a Black Hat actively trying to destroy Trump.
- Whitaker was named as Acting AG and given control over the Mueller SC investigation for two primary reasons 1) protecting Trump from Mueller and 2) ensuring the corrupt members of the Obama cabal face justice.
- All of the criminal corruption we perceive to be true concerning the Obama administration's spying on Trump are 100% true.

Questions:

1. How many months leeway does Whitaker get to indict members of the Obama administration before he gets the Sleepy Matt moniker?
2. Why hasn't Whitaker done anything yet to reign in Mueller?
3. Why did Trump formally answer Mueller's questions? If the Mueller SC is a witch hunt as Trump claims, why continue to cooperate with him especially now that Whitaker is in place and Rosenstein is out of the picture?
4. Why does Rosenstein still have his job?

There is the beach ball bongo number being played re "independent judiciary" and then there is the in your face coal shoveling of the judiciary objections to the "travel ban".

"Remember the travel cases? At issue was whether Trump had the power to issue his Proclamation suspending the entry of aliens from several Muslim-majority countries. The Supreme Court held that he did have that power – a federal law clearly gave him authority to suspend the entry of any class of aliens, or even all aliens, into the country if he deemed doing so in the “national interest.” At most, Trump would need a rational basis for his restrictions – but the Court didn’t even find (as opposed to assume for the sake of argument) that he needed that.

In other words, the Supreme Court, in Trump v. Hawaii, crowned Donald Trump the immigration-restriction czar. And in doing so, it was only upholding the sweeping terms of the statute.

Sit quietly for a while and let that sink in. All by himself, Trump can bar any group of aliens he wants from entering the country, as long as he rationally believes that doing so is in the national interest. He can bar all those who lack a certain level of skills, or education, to protect the jobs and wages of the most vulnerable Americans. He can bar all those who do not have a job lined up in this country that cannot be filled by an American. He can bar all those likely to receive public assistance (in fact, he is already doing that, not by proclamation, but by regulation)."

Good Morning!

Miss M's story on the previous thread about the discovery in Jerusalem of that minuscule "Beka" weight stone outside The Temple of Solomon closes with this good point:

“This three thousand-year-old Beka weight, inscribed with ancient Hebrew was likely used in the First Temple, anchoring once again, the deep historical connection of the Jewish People to Jerusalem,” said Doron Spielman, Vice President of the City of David Foundation which funded the excavation.

Many current attempts to rewrite History attempt to replace the Jews as the ancient Israeli population in favor of some illusory "Palestinian" people, so it is heartening to see unambiguous evidence. I suspect it'll be ignored by the MSM.

Tom R

Most of Tom R's questions have been asked and answered. Many times.

I asked four questions only one of which (the last one) has been asked/answered here before. I do appreciate your answers.

Before I go any further, I don't believe all the assumptions I listed. Some of them are the popular opinion here but not shared by me. For the sake of argument I am stipulating those I disagree with are correct and that I am wrong.

1. More than one, much less than 24. I believe he can only hold his position for about 7 months, so let's say 5 months.

I give Whitaker until Christmas to start indicting Democrats before I question the rationale of why he was given the job in the first place.

If Trump truly believes Mueller is a Black Hat on a witch hunt trying to destroy him, then he could have killed two birds with one stone and fired Rosenstein and named Whitaker to replace him as Deputy AG and in control of the Mueller SC. Sessions remains as AG and recused but the recusal is immaterial now since Trump has Whitaker to control Mueller. Had Trump done that it achieves the same exact thing at the same political cost Trump has been hit with for firing Sessions and stripping control of the Mueller SC away from Rosenstein. It would have also meant that both the AG and Deputy AG were pro-Trump instead of what we have now with Rosenstein being an enemy of Trump.

2. He's only been in office 2 weeks.

Since he was Sessions' chief of staff he has access to all the information Sessions had so no reason for him to not hit the ground running.

3. To preclude Mueller from claiming Trump his hindering his investigation. Because Trump has nothing to hide.

A significant number of people here said from a legal perspective it was extremely unwise for Trump to agree to a sitdown interview with Mueller because Mueller would be trying to get Trump in a perjury trap. Clarice or some other lawyer can confirm but I was under the perception that by submitting his answers to Mueller's questions in writing then Mueller can still use Trump's answers against him in a hypothetical obstruction of justice or perjury charge.

4. Rosenstein has been effectively neutralized.

Rosenstein may be "neutralized" in regards to Mueller SC but why would Trump willingly allow a political enemy who tried to destroy him to remain in a high ranking position of authority where he could negatively impact the MAGA agenda? If the assumption about Rosenstein being a corrupt Swamp/Deep Stater is true, then allowing him to keep his job fails every common sense test possible.

Great point from Molly Hemingway in her link posted above by Miss Marple:

Washington Post editor Karen Attiah and Obama-era spokesman Ned Price expressed displeasure that Trump would set foreign policy in “blatant disregard” for intelligence agencies.

No, the job of intelligence agencies is not to engage in leak campaigns to affect U.S. foreign policy, or to otherwise engage in politics. Their assessments are most worthwhile when they don’t attempt this...

Exactly.

Pinandpuller

Chain Chain Chain

Tom R

I am puzzled why Trump didn't counterattack the WAPO and other leftwing media organizations on the Khashoggi controversy. Trump could have sent out a tweet asking the WAPO why they allowed a member of the Muslim Brotherhood who was associated with Osama Bin Laden to publish columns in their newspaper.

Trump could have also said something along the line of while the Saudis' methods for executing Khashoggi may seem barbaric to Americans, the fact he was a jihadist pal of Bin Laden means the world is now a better place since he is dead.

daddy

More Molly Hemmingway:

Joe Cirincione of Ploughshares (of Iran echo chamber fame) quickly weighed in on Trump’s statement. One journalist snarked, “Really rich that the president suggests in his statement on Saudi Arabia that the lawmakers calling for a firmer response to Khashoggi’s murder might be doing so ‘for political or other reasons.'”

Let he who is without 'political or other reasons" cast the first OpEd.

MissMarple2

daddy,

For years the left complained that the CIA was running their own foreign policy. Seems like we have discovered that that was true, only now the left has decided that the intelligence agencies are beyond reproach.
