Wonderful news stephanie

Let Capt apprise you of the category error

Jim Eagle

Goes to USNA, graduates, spends years as a navy officer. So, what do you do next?

https://denvercatholic.org/naval-officer-benedictine-nun/

Narciso79

He preferred eccentric Kucinich over the fudge, good grief we've gone full brawndo,

daddy

test via Typepad.

daddy

Teresa May just said a dirty word. She said p:

"This Brexit Deal is in our country's National Interest."

What a dispicable, deplorable, fascistic, Nazi racist. Hell, she's as bad as Trump.

daddy

Testing...

Marlene

Hey JOM music people. William Broad became a U.S. citizen yesterday. My in-laws were friends with his parents when they lived in the Tampa Bay area during the 1990s. My mother-in-law attended daily mass with his mother. Who is William Broad?

henry

“Here come da fudge” would be a great way to open House sessions.

Ralph L

I can sign in via the google button, but signing in or registering with Typepad gives me an invalid email warning.
The google button has forced me to log in every 24 hours. Does the Typepad one?

henry

Billy Idol of 80s pop

Marlene

Henry wins!

henry

Ralph, the typepad login lasts longer. Except when it doesn’t.

Jim Eagle

Watching Bosch. The Donald Trump of the LAPD:)

Gentlejim

I’ve been logged in for about a week using gmail. Tonto popped in at the end of last thread. Time to get ready for work.

Extraneus

Billy Idol? Now that's a merit-based immigrant!

I had an unforgettable Billy Idol experience once at an IBM location many moons ago. The place was big enough that there were shuttle buses to take people from building to building, back in the day when everyone wore suits and ties.

I was on one of those buses with some stuffed shirts the first time I heard White Wedding. The driver blasted it.

:-)

Jim Eagle

tonto,

Are you and Harry still here? Let me know. We can do lunch. E is in Belgium, Frederick goes over Saturday and all back here the 22nd.

daddy

TM to the penalty box.

Oh, FFFFFFFFudge!

"That's what I thought you said."

Marlene

My mother-in-law had a picture taken with Billy Idol one of the times he visited his parents. Hubby had that picture in his office for years. Quite a conversation piece. :)

daddy

Exit Question.

Now when I am done for the night or shutdown the computer, do I have to somehow "sign out" of Typepad? Or can I just be lazy and never sign out forever, like brexit?

Jim Eagle

I think Gene Shephard was from GentleJim territory in northern Indiana, but Marcia Fudge is Toledo, right? Close enough I guess.

Extraneus

Leave it, daddy, but I think there's a checkbox that says 'remember me' if you have to log in next time.

henry

You can stay signed in... it might even work

Jim Eagle

Are we worried about our next FedEx delivery when a DC-10 driver has a hard time understanding how to log inot JOM?

Ralph L

This email address is associated with a Google Plus OpenID account. Please access the drop down menu on the sign in page and sign in with your Google Plus OpenID credentials.

This is what happens if I try to reset the Typepad password for my email. Looks like you, or at least I, can have one but not 2 ways in. I may have tried this a year ago and forgot, since Chrome put my email into the typepad button.

jimmyk

Hey Tonto,
When I noted Herb London's passing, I was wondering if you and Harry knew him. Welcome to the brave new world of registration.

lyle

I have a sign out link showing up on Safari on my iPad.

jimmyk

Yikes, daughter just got home, said she just missed getting hit by a big tree branch that came down. Leaves are still on trees, so the snow is causing lots of tree damage. Damn climate change, I blame Trump.

Extraneus

Ralph, that happens in the profile page you get when you click on the name under your comments?

Jim Eagle

jimmky,

No snow out here. I think it is to be west of us. but Frederick will get hit pretty bad up in NW CT.

Extraneus

I recommend that everyone go to their profile page and enter their preferred user name in the "Profile URL" textbox. I'm starting to think that this is the only way we can really tell it's you.

jimmyk

Jack, it's supposed to change over to rain here, but now we've got a couple of inches on the ground. The tree in front of our building lost a big branch.

jimmyk

ext, when I do that I get an error: "The profile URL you entered is already taken by another member. Please use another URL."

DrJ

And it works on a second computer. I'm not surprised, really, but it is good to check.

We should have done this long ago.

Captain Hate

Marcia Fudge is Toledo, right?

She's my Congress critter.

Jim Eagle

CH,

My condolences.

jimmyk

Good to know it is now rain. I couldn't find our car covers, so glad I don't have huge amounts to brush off.

All JOMer's - let us know your snow amounts.

daddy

Brit Nile Gardner now on with non-hysterical Liz on FOX Business. Here's some of my transcript of his take on Brexit:

Liz: Nile, this isn't looking good. It looks like the UK is now stuck with the same "level of playing field" rules out of the EU, and no trade deal from the UK toward the US. Nile, this is not looking great. Trump seems to be right.

Nile: Yeah, I have to say you are right. This deal by Teresa May is an absolute disaster, and it is a hugely unpopular deal. An opinion Poll came out this morning which showed that less than 20% of the British public actually back it. Within the Conservative party, Teresa May's own Party, there is overwhelming opposition to this deal. We saw the resignation of 2 Cabinet Ministers today, the resignation of several Jr Ministers. We are already seeing Conservative MP's queing up now to condemn this deal as a surrender to the European Union. I think Teresa May has done an appallingly bad job in terms of the negotiations. She's given the EU practically everything they've asked for, and I have to say it fundamentally undermines British Sovereignty and the National Interest, including Britain's ability to negotiate Free Trade Agreements across the world, especially with the United States, and so I think all in all it's been a really bad day here. I do hope this deal will be defeated in the House of Commons when it goes for a vote on December 10th, and I think it is highly likely this Deal will be defeated. I think it is dead in the water.

Liz: So what's happening is, as it stands now, Britain cannot try to out compete the EU across the board. They have to adhere to EU Rules still indefinitely. This is no Brexit plan that Teresa May is offering. Is the momentum growing for a vote of "No Confidence" in Teresa May?

Nile: It certainly is, and all you need are 48 Conservative MP's to submit letters of "No Confidence" to ...Sir Graham Brady, and my understanding is that that figure is very nearly reached today, and I think it's very likely that you are going to see a Vote of No Confidence taking place within the Conservative party MP's, it could happen as soon as the beginning of next Week. I think Teresa May could be completely defeated here by this vote or she could be heavily wounded, in which case she has the option of either standing down or struggling to remain as Prime Minister, but it is very clear I think that the British People have lost confidence in their own Prime Minister. Her own Party has lost confidence in the leader of the Conservative party, and I do think the Conservative's need New Leadership in the UK, someone who actually fully believes in Brexit and is willing to stand up to the EU and get a deal that is in the British national Interest and Teresa May simply cannot do that.

Liz: This is a Deal that is actually good for the EU and not for the British people.

Nile: Yes!

Liz: That's what Conservatives are saying. You know what is interesting too, is that Northern Ireland now gets to abide by a different set of rules than the UK, and so that means that that is also shaking the very foundation of the United Kingdom.

Nile: Yeah, that is an extremely important point. This is a bad deal as well for Northern Ireland, which is why the Democratic Union is part of the DUP, who basically work in tandem with the Conservatives in order to keep the Conservatives in power at the moment. They're fundamentally opposed to this agreement because it is a very bad deal for Northern Ireland. Teresa May has handled these negotiations in an absolutely weak-kneed manner. It is the antithesis of how Margaret Thatcher would have handled these negotiations with the EU.

Liz: How would Margaret Thatcher have handled these negotiations?

Nile: Well Margaret Thatcher would have stood up to the EU. She would have got a deal that was in the British National Interest. She would not have sacrificed Britain's Sovereignty itself to another nation, and Margaret Thatcher...before her death...was a very strong supporter of the UK leaving the EU...

hoyden

Hello! I'm on the iPad now that I don't need killfile. Good Deal.

MissMarple2

Jack,

No snow on the ground. Ice melted off by about 4PM, although we had a lot this morning.

A foreboding start to winter here, since we are only half-way into November and we have already had a bunch of schools closed.

Threadkiller

No snow here.

Extraneus

Have you ever previously had a TP account, Jimmy?

Jim Eagle

I wonder how a Donald Trump would have negotiated Brexit?

Pinandpuller

Expanding from the last thread if the barcode starts with 00-13 it's made in America or Canada. 30-37 France. 40-44 Germany. 50 UK. 471 Taiwan. 480 Philippines. 628 Saudi Arabia. 629 UAE. 690-695 CHYNA! 740-745 Central America.

Pretty sure Israel was 73.

Jim Eagle

Mookie Betts. MVP. Good job Mookie.

Extraneus

We saw the resignation of 2 Cabinet Ministers today, the resignation of several Jr Ministers.

When was the last time a U.S. politician resigned in protest?

Pinandpuller

I guess snopes wants to get their two cents in: https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/bar-code-origin-point/

jimmyk

Not that I can remember. But maybe I registered a long time ago and never used the account, and just forgot about it. Either that or someone else uses that stage name.

daddy

Narciso,

I do not understand your 05:30 link. Can somebody who does understand it provide a link in plain language that explains what it is actually about. Somebody is accusing Nikki Haley of having done something bad. Did she do something bad? Beats me, but I would like to know one way or the other.

henry

No snow here. Still some in shady spots from last week, expect 1-3 Friday night.

henry

MKE IPA tonight. Citra and Mosaic hops, nice combo.

I wish Marcia Fudge had a daughter engaged to Greg Packer.

Frau Edith Steingehirn

I am not amused!
I was unable to sign in under my old email address. I was unable to sign in under my real email address. (invalid)
Twitter would not recognize my account (I had one of the earliest accounts) even though they plague me daily--I never use the account.

Suddenly, Twitter recognized me, but I cannot find out from Typepad how to put in an avatar, not that I need it.
I see I am wedded to one name.
Do I sound grumpy? I am.
Pfui Deuvel!

Frau Edith Steingehirn

I hate Snopes. The cat is ok AFAIK.

Jim Eagle

Frau,

Thanks for stopping by since I didn't get a chance to congratulate you on your anniversary. Congrats to you and hubby.

Bosch is almost as depressing as Drudge.

lyle

Happy anniversary, Frau. Impressive.

Extraneus

Looking good, Frau!

henry

Frau, you should be able to click on your (now fixed) name, edit profile, and add a pic.

Less convenient than your nom de jour (or deutsch equivalent), but you could rotate pics as you see fit,

henry

Also, happy anniversary! You deserve two a year at that achievement level!!

daddy

Suddenly, Twitter recognized me, but I cannot find out from Typepad how to put in an avatar, not that I need it.
I see I am wedded to one name.
Do I sound grumpy?

No Frau, you do not sound grumpy, but you down sound like someone completely qualified to fly a DC-10 and even an MD-11. Welcome aboard, pard'ner:)

Trump and Pelosi Go Fishing

The President and the head of the Democrat Party, Nancy Pelosi, are arguing extensively over allowing immigrants into our country. Nancy of course wants free access to everyone who wants to come in, while Donald wants us to secure our borders and insure only the right people come in.

Instead of going to a costly, time-consuming nationwide vote on the matter, they agree to a 3-day ice fishing contest to settle the issue.

Whoever catches the most fish at the end of the 3 days will have his or her process implemented.

The two decide that a remote frozen lake in northern Wisconsin would be the ideal place. No observers on the fishing grounds, but both would need to have their catches verified and counted each night at 5 PM so they use a neutral park ranger station.

After Day 1, Trump returns to the station with a total of 10 fish, while Pelosi comes back with nothing.

Day 2 finishes and Trump catches another 20 fish, but Pelosi once again comes back with nothing.

That night, Pelosi and her liberal cronies get together and accuse Trump of being a “low-life, cheating piece of scum.” Instead of fishing on Day 3, they are going to follow Trump and to spy on him and figure out how he is cheating.

Day 3 finishes up and Trump has had an incredible day, adding 40 more to his total.

That night, Pelosi and her Democrat cohorts get together for the full report on how Donald was cheating.

Pelosi stands up to give her report and says, “You are not going to believe this. Trump is cheating because he's cutting holes in the ice.”

And this, my friends, tells you the difference between a businessman and a career government politician.

Jim Eagle

Kev

has it ever?

daddy

Well I know we American's are always supposed to be ashamed of President Trump and looking to the gifted Europeans to learn what to think and how to behave, so I wonder if anyone knows who has the lowest poll numbers today, Trump, Macron, Merkel, or May?

My guess is it ain't Trump.

Pinandpuller

So my son got back from 16 days without showering from Ft Polk, which seemed appropriate to clean up what he said about working like Stormy Daniels for lunch money. I can see Avenatti looking for Hugh Grant on Sunset right now.

Trump should ask Pelosi to participate in an interview about immigration. Doesn't have to be a debate, just a friendly fireside chat about immigration. They could each choose a questioner who'd question them both.

It is our sacred duty to support America’s Service Members every single day they wear the uniform – and every day after when they return home as Veterans. Hi, Garden Gnerd! Which one are you?

Frau Edith Steingehirn

henry - we actually do have *two* anniversaries a year. The civil one was on the 14th. The church one will be on the 1st of December. If we forgot one, there was always the second. But who's counting?

I don't know how to take a photo from my computer and transfer it to Typepad.

Extraneus

I don't believe the Gnerd was even a possibility for another 15 years or so after that pic was taken.

henry

Frau, I remember you have two! On the pic...

Click on your name. This should take you to your typepad profile. (Yes you have one where ever you sign in from).

Click edit profile.

Under the box on the left, click edit (upload?) photo.
Then search your device, select a photo.

From catch-up: Looks like Acosta's case is on the rocks

Speaking as a non-Lawyer, how come Jim Acosta's Complaint got an immediate review by a Federal Judge whereas Mark Steyn's defamation case with Climate Weasel Michael Mann is now entering it's 2nd Decade? Why is Steyn "punished by the process" yet Jim Acosta gets Carte Blanche' service? Why doesn't Acosta and CNN have to cool their jets for a decade?
