The Times wonders with the rest of us just what the relationship between Trump advisor Stone and Wikileak's Julian Assange:
Roger Stone Sold Himself to Trump’s Campaign as a WikiLeaks Pipeline. Was He?
One wonders why this remains an open question two years after Trump's election. One might also wonder how many members of The Resistance consider this to be an open question.
Mr. Bannon and two other former senior campaign officials have detailed to prosecutors for the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, how Mr. Stone created that impression, according to people familiar with their accounts. One of them told investigators that Mr. Stone not only seemed to predict WikiLeaks’s actions, but that he also took credit afterward for the timing of its disclosures that damaged Hillary Clinton’s candidacy.
But at the same time, the top tier of Mr. Trump’s campaign was deeply skeptical of Mr. Stone, who has made a career of merging fact and fiction and seems to prize attention over credibility.
Whether Mr. Stone was, in fact, a trusted intermediary to WikiLeaks — or simply a master of puffery that made him appear so — remains a paramount question for Mr. Mueller’s investigators, who are examining Russia’s interference in the 2016 presidential race and whether any Trump associates conspired with Moscow’s effort.
To tease out the truth, prosecutors have summoned Mr. Stone’s former employees and longtime political allies to testify before a federal grand jury in Washington or be interviewed at the special counsel’s office. Investigators asked them about a range of issues, including Mr. Stone’s relationship with WikiLeaks, his attempts during the presidential race to raise money for his political causes and whether he tried to persuade one associate not to cooperate with the inquiry.
Resist!
I wondered about the "first country you get to," myself. That generated a lot of ill will and friction in the EU, because, of course, the hordes of migrants were all coming ashore in Italy and areas around Greece, IIRC. The Italians were inundated, and resented have to bear the brunt both people & money-wise, while the migrants were all determined to make their way to Germany.
I certainly don't recall any such imposition wrt to migrants moving through Mexico in the past, although this time Mexico did offer asylum to the caravan(s), presumably at President Trump's behest.

They make great wheeled walkers that have a seat & a bit of storage. Not that you need a walker, but they are really handy for any events when there is a long line & waiting.
Water bottles etc. can be stored in the seat.
At my kids VA Tech graduation there were tons of them....used by all ages of people. Bad knees are pretty common!

Dirty Tricks! Leftists Target Christian Churches in Texas
Graves said his organization received calls from a number of churches in Texas from pastors who noticed the Vision America voter guides had been altered.
“They kept our logo, our look, our colors, but they flipped the issues of the candidates,” Graves said. “The fake voter guides clearly favored O’Rourke. They made Ted Cruz look like he was pro-abortion.
“I’ve been around this type of work for 20 years and I’ve never seen anyone go to this level of deceit and dishonesty to try to deceive Christians,”

Here's a bit from Milo again -
"All of these Left-wingers want to shed their whiteness because they think their bodies are costumes that can be refashioned for expediency or advantage. While claiming that “whites have all the privileges,” Dolezal, King and Warren demonstrate through their actions that they know otherwise. The same is true of Robert Francis O’Rourke, a man you might know better as his fake Spanish alter ego Beto O’Rourke. Beto tans to look more Spanish, though even the Hispanic Congressional Caucus aren’t fooled and rejected him when he tried to join. Because he’s white. These people all know that in media, culture, politics and entertainment, being white can be a handicap and being “of color” can be an advantage. So they put on a different costume."

If you want to recharge your 2020 batteries, read this article in Politico (via Instapundit)
The Democrats’ Culture Divide. Seriously. The Democrat party is becoming the party of privileged, ever whiter, elite gentry whose agendas diverge ever more sharply from those of the traditional blue collar and minority base. As usual, they are turning into the party they accuse Republicans of being. It's as if the developments Politico describes are custom made for Trump to exploit.
I also enjoyed this Roger Kimball column, They Can't Bear the Thought That Trump's Win Was No Anomaly:
Kimball indulges in a bit of pre-game schadenfreude: He suggests that it will be especially hard on the "anti-Trump and NeverTrump" commentariat. That, on a purely emotional level, is a big piece of why I want to see us keep the house, but I'll say no more lest I jinx it up.Posted by: JMHanes | November 01, 2018 at 11:46 PM
