His gun, which appears to be a .45-caliber handgun, was purchased legally, according to ABC News. AP reports that he also deployed a smoke device.

No AR-15 in this story.

Here's what Michael Bloomberg is doing with his money lately: Former NYC mayor donates $1M to Anchorage art project

Bloomberg just donated $1 Million bucks to the city to fund Art Projects that help fight Climate Change.

(Anchorage Mayor) Berkowitz said Anchorage is still looking for its iconic piece of art and referenced the Statue of Liberty in New York City.

He must have forgotten about our "Pooping Lego" we paid $560,000 of Taxpayer Funds for.

Neo

Witnesses said that at 11:20PM local time, the man dressed in black threw smoke grenades into the bar and opened fire as confused and scared patrons struggled to find a way out.

Where have I seen folks dressed in black recently ?

MD's Red Flag law racked up Two Cold, Dead Hands already.

--Presumably we will see coverage and second-guessing on the non-use of this law.--

No, we'll see attempts by gubnuh elect Navin Grewsom to restrict law abiding citizens from owning guns.

Wednesday is past. Thursday is passing and yet disgusting mucous trails still cross JOM like corporate chem trails across the SoCal skies.

CNN national security and legal analyst Susan Hennessey is calling on White House press corp members to boycott future briefings after Jim Acosta, the network’s chief White House correspondent, had his press credentials revoked Wednesday evening.

I'm all for that. Throw Sarah Sander's and President Trump in that briar patch.

Judge Nap doing his usual blather on Cavuto's Show. He says that he has been hearing that Whitiker has been lobbying to get Sessions ousted so that he could take Sessions job.

OK, so why was Sally Yates constitutional? I wish someone who knows something would expound.

Judge Nap says banning Acosta is a very dangerous move and is leading us down a slippery slope. Praises Jim Acosta by saying, "And when the Press does a job as effectively as Jim Acosta has done they shouldn't be punished by the force of Government."

Somehow I can't recall any "effective" questioning by Acosta that actually provided the Nation info the Public needed to hear. All I hear from him is juvenile belligerence or, as Michael Goodwin stated earlier, "personal hatred."

I wonder if Judge Nap would accept such outrageously rude and out of place behavior in his Courtroom? My guess is "No."

daddy

Who is Demogorgon and who is Hennessey?

JMHanes

How long before Acosta gets his own show on CNN? When he finally controls the mike, he'll probably give Hannity a run for his money when it comes to how much time he actually lets his guests speak.

BREAKING: Attorney General Whitaker Won't recuse himself from Mueller probe. Won't approve subpoena of President Donald Trump.

daddy

Attorney General Whitaker Won't recuse himself from Mueller probe.

Yay! About time we had somebody with balls generaling the DOJ.

Old Lurker

One great side benefit of treating Fox just exactly as I treat CNN or MSNBC is that not only do I never see or hear Shep, I never see or hear Judge Nap. If you still watched Fox after what Bret and MeAgain did to Trump in that debate, shame on you. If you were still watching them when they called Congress for the Dems while half the country was still voting the other day, then laughed and smiled at the outcome, then you are (redacted).

Dave Seville

1. Attorney General Whitaker won't approve subpoena of President Trump.

2. Mule-ear writing final report.

These two items would have seemed incongruous previously but knowing how Mule-ear's BFF writes reports maybe not so much.

henry

On your gun control law: if our judicial system lets 5 criminals walk free rather than incarcerate an innocent person (and those criminals are very likely to harm others); why would French leave out a strong presumption that an enumerated right should get less protection in his silly law? What severe penalties are cast upon false accusations? In his formula, one deranged neighbor could make process a punishment for thousands of others.

daddy

I hope RBG gets better; I hope she retires. 85 and three fractured ribs--poor lady.

An interesting scenario would be what happens if she had a stroke and became brain dead? Would her feeding tubes be able to be pulled, or would she be protected, unlike an ordinary citizen, because as long as she's still semi-breathing she's preventing Trump from appointing her replacement?

I don't watch Fox either, but after what they pulled Tuesday night, I will extra not watch them. I had actually figured they'd have the least awful coverage but that was obviously not the case.

As it was we were at our neighbors who don't have cable but for some reason invited us over to watch returns anyway, so I ended up having to suffer through Steffy grinning on ABC because we couldn't find a decent stream using their app.

On top of that he is a Brit and she is Canadian so they had no idea what was actually going on which I had to explain. They are sweet people and conservative Trump supporters but I just wanted to be home smoking on the back porch and scrolling through JOM and Twitter and T_D. Election night is not a social time, at least not unless we're totally romping and it's time to celebrate, but even then I'd rather just be online.

Andrew Gillum waffles on concession in Florida governor's race

#Florida law requires counties report early voting & vote-by-mail within 30 minutes after polls close. 43 hours after polls closed 2 Democrat strongholds #BrowardCounty & #PalmBeachCounty are still counting & refusing to disclose how many ballots they have left to count. #Sayfie

Since 3am Wed slow drip from these 2 Dem controlled counties cut Scott lead from 54 to 17K. And they refuse to disclose # of ballots they have left

Bucky Barkingham

Another blog a few days ago had the story of a man in Maryland shot by police when he violently resisted having his gun taken under the state's Red Flag law. In the comments thread there were posters claiming that they would shot police instead of complying with such a law. They seemed to say they were defending the Second Amendment, so I guess they have no problem with what this shooter did.

Porchlight

All right, get a court order and halt this crap.

They have lots of time before Election Day to count early in-person and vote by mail, and they're supposed to dump ALL of it once the polls close and returns begin. There should be no early vote counting after Election Day at all.

Pinandpuller

How did RBG come down on the Terry Shaivo case?

Lifetime appointment.

As for FOX, I will continue to watch them, but primarily the FOX Business Channel in the morning/afternoon, then Shannon Bream, Tucker, Hannity, Ingraham, and Levin in the evenings. I will also continue to click on Brett's Show, regardless how much I am disappointed in him because I want to hear Molly Hemmingway and Charles Hurt on the panel. I also need to be able to hear and transcribe Katherine Herridge's
news reports as they are about the best thing available on FOX broadcasting.

I have long been as unable to listen to Stirewalt as I have been to watch Shep or Kat Timpf or some of the rest of their odious regulars. So even tho' you guys might turn off FOX, I'm still going to do transcriptions. Feel free to Scroll on by.

There are still some babies in FOX's bathwater worth listening to, regardless how egregious was Brett and Martha's and Stirewalt's dismissive, irresponsible behavior 2 nights back. Levin on radio made the point that Dana Rohrbacker lost in California by only a few hundred votes, and FOx's Show predicting the House had flipped 5 hours before the California Polls had closed certainly could have contributed to Rohrbacker voters staying home.

From the last thread, maryrose:

President Trump can fire whoever he wants.
There is not a damn thing DEMS can do about that.

Well, they can impeach Trump, as of January when they control the House. There doesn't need to be an actual crime, just something they call a "high crime and misdemeanor." I'm assuming that's the subtext of that NYT op-ed on the appointment of Whitaker.

I have no idea whether the argument presented in that piece (essentially that an interim appointment must be given to someone whose position required Senate confirmation) has any validity or not. I presume Trump got legal advice before appointing Whitaker, though.

Stephanie, Nene, Not your Normal Grandma

Just got a call from the son that the DIL is at Kennestone and they are inducing labor. She's due in December, but her liver enzymes are out of whack even after taking her off all meds for 48 hours. Same thing that happened when Grace was born. Same time frame, too.

Paige will be here sometime today, probably.

I have stated repeatedly we have to watch fraud in Florida.
They are experts at it.
They robbed Romney in 2012 as they kept counting and then miraculously Obama wins by a minuscule margin.
What is happening in Arizona?
If they didn’t have their totals in on time then their county is not counted.

If McConnell truly has any balls, or dignity, or even just simple concern for the institution he leads, he'll refuse to seat the Arizona Dem if she does manage to steal the election.

Captain Hate

Is Whitaker a Senate-confirmed official?

I think so because all US attorneys are subject to confirmation by the Senate. Levin has argued that Mueller is unconstitutional because he wasn't appointed by the President or Attorney General nor confirmed by the Senate but has US Attorneys reporting to him in violation of the Appointments clause of the Constitution.

POTUS needs to unleash DECLASSIFICATION Hell on these pikers.

Let them take the next 2 years trying to protect their Cabal's backsides. Hard to organize for a national election when yer choneez are on fire every day forever.

And while the loons are forming their fire brigades in court, the Dem centrists can try to get along on trade, infrastructure, prescription drug issues, and the price of bananas.

Light em up, Mr. President.

Dems are going to have a lot of fun trying to reverse engineer their committees to come after you.

It would be helpful to see a complete list of all races that are not final-final, wouldn't it? And why they are not final.

Tom Bowler

I watched Pelosi's press conference yesterday. She paid lip service to bipartisanship and working with Republicans, all the while speaking of Republicans in the most insulting of terms. She accused Republicans of 'assault' on health care, and called the tax bill a 'Republican scam.' She used the terms 'Republican assault' and 'Republican scam' more than once while claiming her intent to be be bipartisan. I had to force myself to keep watching the deceitful old hag.

I have no doubt that Democrats plan to obstruct and investigate. It's not going to go over very well with Americans, most of whom have no interest in Mueller's Russia probe. Meanwhile Trump claims to be serious when he says Pelosi deserves to be Speaker. He wants her there.

I'm not one for 4D chess, but I do think Trump knows what he wants to do, and has realistic plans and strategies for getting it done. I can't imagine Pelosi getting the better of him. Trump really did accomplish a lot in his first two years.

My faith sometimes weakens, and I suspect that Trump might revert to typical Republican presidential form -- bipartisan for the sake of being bipartisan and preserving a legacy. But then Trump unceremoniously dumped Sessions. I expect he will soon declassify FISA applications. To hell with all the talk of obstruction of justice.

I don't think Trump believes he needs to get along with the Democrats, congress, or anybody else for the sake of a legacy. I think he sees his legacy will be getting substantive things done.

Kellyanne Conway's Husband Blasts Trump's Interim AG Pick As "Unconstitutional, llegal"

You mean there WAS a reason to post ICE at polls?
The law says that if green-card holders are caught voting they lose their green cards and are deported. It does give a certain twist to all of the motor-voter registration, automatic registration, and general "vote it's your patriotic duty" civic-religion exhortations. It also makes me wonder if any DACA-registered yutes are found on the voter roles can they be immediately deported?

You know various folks on our side constantly take the defensive position that we are not against all immigration, just illegal immigration. Maybe it's time to go on the offensive and point out that from their behavior, the Democrats are ALSO not in favor of all immigration -- in their case they are only in favor of illegal immigration.

But then I've also been saying all along that we've been ignoring the tremendous human cost of the Democrat human trafficking on the illegal immigrants. Before DACA, children were left safe at home when their parents made the dangerous trek to cross the border illegally. But Obama turned children into objects -- living visas for anyone who could claim to be their parents. The Spanish term is permisso where children become "papers" that allow their parents (or any adults claiming to be their parents) permission to waltz right across the border and stay. How many children who should have been home with relatives saw people die in the desert, or fall from freight trains and get crushed, or drown in the Rio Grande, or suffocate in the backs of trucks? How many children saw their mothers raped, or watched their mothers trade sex for safe passage with corrupt officials along the way? How many children were taken from Central American orphanages under the ruse of adoption, to be used and discarded by people who didn't care about them because they are strangers?

Kevlar Kid

Mueller is preparing to fold up his taco stand. Good.

And his final report will, as Rachel Maddow spittingly relayed 2 nights before the elections, have Trump "running scared" because Mueller will lay out the "road map" (gag--if i had a nickel for...)for Congress to get Trump.

sigh.

nonsense. Mueller's bag of runny drivel will be difficult to interpret and have the pundits deciding that Trump should be removed from office, followed by national "Days of Rage" (by pussies even).
