Trump wants $5 billion for a border wall and a symbolic win. Pelosi and Schumer will give him a fence, or a partial government shutdown. Resist!
I love Schumer's soundbite: "The public expects us to be even smaller and less reasonable than Trump and we won't disappoint them."
I may have misheard that. Probably not.
Tom R's 533p: Schumer admits Trump peed on him.
Pelosi plays the "woman card" and that lame-assed bumpersticker that is all around these parts "Because i am the mommy."
Yeah, yeah, yeah, GFU you ol'bat.

I favor David Bosse. He's a bulldog and understands who the enemies are.

I like Mulvaney for Chief of Staff. He seems ideologically solid and may be even smarter than Trump, IQ wise. I don't think Priebus or Kelly were anywhere close.
Just a matter if ideology and loyalty in his case. If I were Trump and were convinced he had both boxes checked, I'd go with him. His energy level would compliment Trump's.
Posted by: Extraneus | December 11, 2018 at 05:46 PM
I agree about Meadows. i dont want ANY member of congress within 450 yards of the WH, let alone the Oval Office inner sanctum.
Nominate Barr and bring in Whitaker. That should frost some gonads in Congress. Whitaker would cross-serve as a spotter for POTUS' counter-offensive.
Take out Feinstein. Force a slew of Dem retirements in the House and Senate. Launch Barr. Hello special elections. No ramp up to cheat mode. Payback using the proper channels and the Rule of Law.
if the Dems truly believe what Chuck and Nancy and Mueller are spewing then they are vulnerable to counterattack. they think they have Trump cornered and that he fears them.
yo. not a superior psychology to read your own press clippings, and then, believe them to be true.
let's go.

Trump saying he would shut down the government for border security is the last thing Schumer and Pelosi expected to hear. Other Republicans run from the word "shutdown." But the wall is Trump's bottom line and he won't -- and can't -- retreat. That's why the Democrats lost today.

Pelosi & Schumer planned to tar Trump with owning a shutdown.
Trump ducked the label of plain old shutdown by turning it into a battlecry: “shutdown for border security”.
With nowhere to hide, Pelosi showed herself to be foul-mouthed and sexist.
Trump “stuck a feather in his cap and called it macaroni.”
See if you find that in any #MSM lede tomorrow.

In a much less severe medical event than James went through:
I've had floaters in my eyes for a long time. I first noticed how many there were a couple years ago when I was walking Teddy on a cloudy snowy day when against a white background I saw all these weird grey shapes moving around. A subsequent trip to the ophthalmologist after I was diagnosed with type two diabetes revealed "yeah you've got floaters; are they overly bothersome?" "Not really; against most backgrounds I don't even notice them." "Well ok, they're normal for people your age."
Then this past summer on a foggy day I noticed these dots in the field of vision of my right eye that moved around like floaters but were different. I didn't panic and figured I'd mention it to my primary physician during my annual physical, which I did and she referred me to Dr. Huang at the Retina Center. The techie who did most of the work was really good at giving me feedback immediately after my dilated pupils looked at this bright green light while a red line went slowly up and down and gave two images per eye; showing me that the lack of red in the green and yellow color of the first one indicated no problem and the indentation instead of a bump on the second one likewise.
Then Dr. Huang, a thoroughly westernized Asian, gave me a quick look and explained in detail how I was in excellent shape for my age, why the floaters happen and why I shouldn't worry about them. He was professional and personable (he asked me about "The Architecture of the Arkansas Ozarks" which Porch recommended).
It was a very good experience.

"My child, France is in a very critical position, which is understood only by the King and a few superior minds. But the King is a head without arms; the great nobles, who are in the secret of the danger, have no authority over the men whose co-operation is needful in order to bring about a happy result. These men, cast up by popular election, refuse to lend themselves as instruments. Even the able men among them carry on the work of pulling down society, instead of helping us to strengthen the edifice...
..."Shall I tell you, my child, which is the most destructive of all the consequences entailed by the Revolution? You would never guess. In Louis XVI. the Revolution has decapitated every head of a family. The family has ceased to exist; we have only individuals. In their desire to become a nation, Frenchmen have abandoned the idea of empire; in proclaiming the equal rights of all children to their father's inheritance, they have killed the family spirit and created the State treasury. But all this has paved the way for weakened authority, for the blind force of the masses, for the decay of art and the supremacy of individual interests, and has left the road open to the foreign invader.

Listening to France24 on and off these last few hours I understand that he has been identified (by the authorities). I think all the public knows is that he is a 29 year old man who has been "radicalized" and was on the terror watch list, yet already I have already heard calls from authorities to not take it out on any particular ethnic/religious group.

SBW,
When I heard Macron yesterday, just before he completely capitulated to the Protesters, he touted France's ability to always try new methods and unexplored ways to accomplish things:
Macron:...If I have fought in order to be able to shape the political system in place, it is precisely because I believe in this country that I love. And my legitimacy, I don't take it out of any title or any party. I get my legitimacy and my rights from you. I want to find a way to get out of this together. I want this for France because this is our pact. Through history we have always opened unexplored ways and unexplored methods. I don't want to be divided. I don't want the french people to be divided. This is a country of Law. Friendship is what must unite this country.
That had me thinking, "What new unexplored ways, what new unexplored methods," are you talking about?
And then 3 sentences later he declared money grows on trees and blasted an astronomical hole in the budget.

So what's the best voice assistant? I want Kirk's and Picard's computers. (Kirk's coputer voice was Nurse Chapel's, who was Roddenberry's squeeze-to-wife.)
On the plane we have 2 sets of robotic voices besides all the lights, bells, and whistles. One we call "The Bitch", which is a bossy woman's voice that barks stuff like "Tire Failure, Tire Failure" and calls out the altitudes on descent, (ie: "50, 40, 30, 20, 10.")
We also have a robotic guy, like an overly emphatic Steven Hawking" who speaks up less frequently, but who says stop like "Terrain, Terrain," followed by 2 electronic "Whoop, whoop" carnival style sounds, followed by him hollering "Pull up, Pull up."
Each of those 2 have about 20 to 30 phrases.
Now they have decided, since they gave the Captain a HUD (Heads Up Display) a few years ago, that some of the crap we see in that overly clustered display will now have its own set of babbling robot voices. I listened to it a few days back and it seemed to be a less human version of either of the previous 2, sort of like Hal from 2001 saying "Angle of Attack, Angle of Attack."
There's hardly room for the human anymore in the cockpit, and I think that's their ultimate intention:(
