Could Sens. Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota and Sherrod Brown of Ohio offer a dream ticket for Democrats for the 2020 presidential election, asks @GeraldFSeib

It would be great to see that hoarse voiced goof get humiliated on a national stage since the Ohio GOP and their pet weasel, Josh Mandel, have torpedoed the base as far as not making it a priority to eradicate that vermin from the Senate and make him endure being around his mouthy fatassed second whore wife 24/7. Maybe Renacci would have lost anyway but having Mandel refuse to open up his war chest, much of which had been donated for the purpose of getting Brown out of office, was a typical GOPe prick move which I'll never fail to bring up in the future.

Could Sens. Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota and Sherrod Brown of Ohio offer a dream ticket

Althouse just had a thread on Klobuchar, commenting on how dull and apparently stupid she is.

this was a softball interview, with no challenging questions, no surprising topics. And Klobuchar was mush-mouthed and dull. I was wondering out loud, why doesn't she have that crisp Sarah Palin style of Minnesotan speech? Where's the spirit and style? She seems like a student who shows up prepared and ready to do the assignment, but with no love of the game, no interest in lighting us on fire, nothing.

https://www.justsecurity.org/47368/flynns-turkish-delight-how-why-reversed-policy-positions-turkey/

This article has a lot of information on Flynn's lobbying efforts involving Turkey. One thing everyone needs to know is Flynn did a 180 degree flip flop. He went from being pro-Gulen/anti-Erdogan to pro-Erdogan/anti-Gulen.

Flynn has a strong anti-Islamist streak, and yet he went from criticizing Turkey’s relatively pro-Islamist government and supporting the coup against Erdoğan, to publicly advocating for Gülen’s removal to face justice for the coup in Turkey. What changed between these two events—the coup and the op-ed—to cause Flynn to switch positions on Turkey?

Narciso79

He wrote an OP ed, Eric holder was the pitchman for 'hillbilly heroin,' before the supreme court, who actually did more harm.

Right, henry, "stupid" is probably unfair, but just not particularly smart.

Tom R

I didn't notice until just now but the Mueller SC is not who indicted these two Turks associated with Flynn. The indictments came from the US Attorney from the Eastern District of Virginia.

Captain Hate

Prosecutors have always been a weak link for corruption. Stephanie Tubbs Jones got a congressional seat by refusing to move on a gift wrapped state police investigation of one of the Stokes brothers whore daughters shaking down ME merchants in the city over lottery tickets.

Working for the FIB is the major league of law enforcement. I'm not sure why Page risked all that in a stupid plot with the obvious mental case of Strzok other than Mueller and Queasy had created such a corrupt system that it marked the quickest way to get ahead.

Extraneus

Ig, i read it that way too.

Me, too. Seems logical that the whole thing was about Turkish lobbying, not that that has anything to do with Russian collusion. Perhaps the sentencing delays were due to the time it took to indict the latest two guys, which probably required Flynn's cooperation.

Neo

Consider the immediate effects of Erdoğan‘s post-coup purges.
Most of the Gülen sympathetic military were gone.

I had an interesting experience with Amazon today. The person I've been friends with the longest in Cleveland and I always exchange Christmas presents, almost always music CDs although books and DVDs have been included sporadically. Given that both of us have massive music collections and very similar tastes, we've both done impressive needle threading in terms of never getting the other something he already has. In case that should ever happen with what I give, I insure myself by getting him something that I don't own but have heard through streaming or borrowed from the library so that if he has it I can just get something different for him and keep the redundant item.

So I ordered four discs last week and all arrived over the weekend except one. Today the last package was delivered but it was empty and stapled shut. After bitching at whoever took it briefly I sat down to process something to explain what happened and get it replaced. Except none of the clickable items really explained what happened. Finally I put the category as "missing or damaged parts" with a written explanation of what happened. That took me to another page which directed me where to take the damaged item, which sent me into another rage stroke over the prospect of taking an empty envelope to somewhere in a titanic waste of time (meanwhile my wife was suggesting going to the post office "fuck those worthless assholes" or reporting it to the police "they've got enough idiots bothering them without that").

Imagine my surprise when 20 minutes later I got an email from a customer service rep apologizing profusely for what I'd gone through. Even though he got the cause of the problem wrong (the seller didn't ship an empty package) he processed a refund and suggested a course of action whereby they'd eat the expedited shipping by Amazon. Even though the latter part couldn't be worked out to his instructions (the disc is so esoteric that only the original seller handles it) he subsequently refunded the shipping cost from the third party. He also subsequently reported that the problem with the post office will be handled.

Despite all the roadblocks along the way, I was pretty happy how things worked out.

jimmyk

So tomorrow is the big day for the Flynn case? Since I'd rather be pleasantly surprised than profoundly disappointed, I'm going to suspect that the judge will either postpone again or affirm Flynn's conviction and give him a slap on the wrist, along the lines someone here (AB?) predicted yesterday.

If it turns out that Sullivan tosses the case and puts Comey, Strzok, Page et al in the spotlight, I will be pleasantly (and genuinely) surprised.

James D.

Oh and the times is allowing Alice Walker to mainstream antisemitism.

Boy, there's a shock.

Good Morning!

Just got to Althouse's link and comments above about dull Amy Klobuchar, but this is the part that stuck out to me:

Now, it was a little unfair that the interviewer — CBS News's Margaret Brennan — was wearing an neon-bright yellow jacket while Klobuchar wore a dull shade of blue, but this was a softball interview, with no challenging questions, no surprising topics. And Klobuchar was mush-mouthed and dull. I was wondering out loud, why doesn't she have that crisp Sarah Palin style

Other than mention by that NYTimes moron, David Brooke, of Obama's "crease in his pant," is any mention ever made about male candidates as to what the heck color of clothing they are wearing and how it clashes or agrees or rivals whatever stupid color or style or is "fair" in regards to whatever the reporter is wearing? Of course not, and this via Althouse is a perfect example of how some women get all stupid about such stuff which would never cross the mind of most men to ever bring up, and certainly not in regards to male candidates being interviewed by men.

(ie: Did you see that seersucker tie with the Windsor knot and cashmere emerald blue jacket that George Stephanopolos was wearing Sunday as he interviewed Devin Nunes? What with that, and with his perfectly matched gold cufflinks and tie-tack from Tiffany's why poor Devin had no possibility of holding his own as he was dressed top to bottom in Fruit Of The Loom. It was hardly a fair contest even before George let his $32,000 Ulysse Nardin wristwatch flash it's platinum band from underneath his cuff, just below his perfectly manicured nails whereas all Nunes sported was a Casio:(

It's good to be reminded why I hate Althouse from time to time, but not to worry, I'll get over it.

D
