it’s not OK for me to criticize Flynn (who is also a public political figure) for not having the courage to fight back against the corrupt Deep State Swamp trying to destroy him?

I think you're being disingenuous in that you're saying it for effect and don't really believe it. Not sure why, and maybe I'm wrong; but that's what I believe.

Cap'n, the irony is that some criticize Flynn for not using his own money to fight the Deep State, when we used to have both Houses of Congress and couldn't get them to do that even with other people's money.

I have great respect for Iggy and others who refuse to knuckle under, but no one's shoes are exactly the same as anyone else's, so if someone does cop a plea under pressure of some overzealous prosecutor with unlimited budget, I'm not going to judge him. He's still a victim, the prosecutor is still the bad guy.

jimmyk

And while I don't have a lot of sympathy for Cohen, given how he turned on Trump, the charges seem like BS compared to the real crimes of the Obama DoJ.

Yep, JimmyK, worth keeping in mind.

when we used to have both Houses of Congress and couldn't get them to do that even with other people's money.

Someone at AoS said earlier that the House hasn't flipped, and then flipped back in two years, since the 1860s. Admittedly all bets are off with Trump, but what campaign could the GOP use after Ryan broke every campaign promise that people voted for while being in control of all branches?

Legal fees, DC, right now.

I paid a solo lawyer up in the village to monitor my local government which wanted to build something in a place I didn't want it (textbook NIMBY) so that he could accept any legal notices while we were on Nantucket all summer. No work; just watch and write some emails.

Last week I sent him a check for $10,365 for "services rendered".

We have been fighting with our dumpster contractor at our shopping centers. When they did not respond the way I wanted to the issue, we had their bills checked for accuracy (they are complicated because of recycling requirements of Arlington County). Discovered the Ginormous Trash Co (h/t JiB) had made a billing error in their favor which we had paid assuming it was OK for 17 months in a row. Told them they owed us $32,500 back from our overpayments. They declined, but offered to try better in the future.

Went to our law firm, which agreed we were dead right and they wrote a nasty letter for us. But the partner's comment was "I can get you out of the balance of your contract because of this, but if we have to sue for the $32,500 back, our fees will be more than that and of course we might not win."

Real world. Real money. For nitpicking issues.

daddy, re your question on the last thread. Judges can sua sponte (on their own) refuse to accept a plea deal and throw out the case. I respect Harry Lewis who thinks Sullivan should not do this, but, frankly, we've seen these FBI shenanigans too many times and I think if he doesn't do the bold thing, there's no stopping it.

General Flynn was "the raised nail [that] gets the hammer," as the Japanese proverb goes. Nonetheless, the Mueller/Obama/FBI/DOJ cabal wanted to punish and silence him with a vengeance. It can't have been only to get at President Trump. The rest of Mueller et al's targets have been chump in comparison.

It wasn't an earthquake, it was the sound of a million shredders crying out in pain:

A trove of documents on the Clinton Foundation alleging possible pay for play and tax evasion have been turned over to the FBI and IRS by several investigative whistleblowers, who will be testifying in an open hearing before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Thursday, according to the committee and lawmakers.

Roughly 6,000 documents that are expected to reveal the nearly two year investigation by the whistleblowers with a private firm called MDA Analytics LLC, which allegedly turned over the documents more than a year and half ago to the IRS, according to John Solomon, who first published the report last week in The Hill.

The whistleblowers are former federal criminal investigators, who allege that the Clinton Foundation was “engaged in illegal activities and may be liable for millions of dollars in delinquent taxes and penalties,” according to Solomon.

The Department of Justice and the FBI’s Little Rock, Ark. field office, which is believed to be investigating the foundation, have allegedly obtained the documentation from the whistleblowers as well, according to lawmakers who’ve spoken with the whistleblowers.

"New York Attorney Gen.-elect Letitia James says she plans to launch sweeping investigations into President Donald Trump, his family and “anyone” in his circle who may have violated the law once she settles into her new job next month.

“We will use every area of the law to investigate President Trump and his business transactions and that of his family as well,” James, a Democrat, told NBC News in her first extensive interview since she was elected last month.

James outlined some of the probes she intends to pursue with regard to the president, his businesses and his family members.

[…] She’s also enlisting help from some prosecutorial heavy hitters, like former U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch, as a part of her transition to help her identify important hires for her office with an eye on bringing in experts for its Trump-related investigations.

New York is home to the president’s namesake business, the Trump Organization, and it is where Trump’s presidential campaign was headquartered and his reelection campaign as well. And it is where a number of key events under special counsel Robert Mueller’s microscope, such as the controversial June 2016 Trump Tower meeting, took place. All of that falls within James’ jurisdiction."

Might be worth seeing how the Flynn story ends before judging the guy.

True Ext, but...

I contend that we have ObamaCare because of the corrupt political Prosecution of Ted Stevens in Judge Sullivan's Court. Now I see us as having another corrupt Prosecution in Judge Sullivan's Court, this time with the political goal of impeaching Trump. The first time I will grudgingly give a break to Judge Sullivan since much of what was revealed of the FBI's Law breaking in that case (302's etc) was revealed after the fact, so that Judge Sullivan did as much Judge stuff after the conviction as he did during the trial.

Now he doesn't have that excuse of "I was ignorant."

I recall that back in Feb 2018 Judge Sullivan issued "Sua Sponte" (of his own volition) the following instructions in this Flynn Case:

In an order signed Friday, U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan said federal prosecutors must timely provide Flynn’s defense team with “any evidence in its possession that is favorable to defendant and material either to defendant’s guilt or punishment.”

Sullivan’s order did not come due to any known request from the defense team and he did not explain his rationale for releasing it. Instead, he said only that the order was issued “sua sponte,” in other words, at his own volition.

Since the Prosecutors already had to provide that, by Law, and the Defense didn't ask for it, it tells me that Judge Sullivan knows he has more of these corrupt prosecutorial bastards presenting the case in his Courtroom and he's known it for going on a year.

So now with more bogus 302 signings going on and McCabe's Memo coming out in the Public arena detailing his instructions to Strzok as to how to go about ensnaring Flynn unjustly in a perjury trap, I want Sullivan to be fully cognizant of that. He's seen this game before. What I don't want is him 3 months after the fact lamely coming out with another Ted Steven's style excuse saying he was ignorant of how these bastards operate.

Excuse my rant.

I think you're being disingenuous in that you're saying it for effect and don't really believe it. Not sure why, and maybe I'm wrong; but that's what I believe.

How am I being disingenous? I stated up front that I was stipulating everyone who believes Mueller is a corrupt Deep State Swamp creature are correct. I then made a point highly critical of Flynn for being a coward based on that stipulation I am wrong about Mueller. I hold military personnel to a much higher standard than I do civilians like Jerome Corsi and Roger Stone.

Think about it. Flynn is someone who knows first hand about the corruptness of the Obama administration thanks to what he knew about the Iran deal (which based on reports is the main reason he got fired). Flynn knew first hand that McCabe was corrupt thanks to his mistreatment of FBI agent Robin Gritz. After the election Flynn also almost certainly was told about the Obama administration's illegal spying on Trump and his team. Knowing everything he knew about the Obama criminal cabal combined with the oath he swore to defend the country against it's enemies, surrendering to the Deep State Swamp without putting up a fight is pure cowardice. I don't have any problems whatsoever defending that opinion if it is true that Mueller is as dirty and corrupt as a lot of people here believe. Under this scenario, I think the people who have that negative opinion of Mueller should be just as disappointed in Flynn's capitulation to the Deep State Swamp as I am.

With that said if it turns out that I am correct about Mueller (and Rosenstein) actually working with Trump and not against him, then obviously that scenario changes everything about Flynn's inexplicable admission of guilt when he didn't even commit a crime in the first place.

Lastly, Extraneus' advice at 4:56 is good advice.

Sullivan was already a disappointment.

Flynn is not a coward because he plead guilty to help out his 4D teammates, Mueller, Rosenstein, and Trump, who are cowards because they inexplicably demanded that Flynn plead guilty so they wouldn't have to defend the oath they took which would have rid us of the Obama Cabal.

Why in the world would Flynn ever have the belief that the FBI agents interviewing him, one of which was Peter Strzok, were allies?

He probably thought they were questioning him on an unrelated topic about which he was not personally concerned re: legal jeopardy. What that topic might have been i do not know, but I do not have a problem thinking that they may have been discussing other topics with him than things that would come across as perjury traps. I have no idea if he was manipulating them or not. We don't have enough info to make any such determinations, but we have been told the interviewing pair of agents both thought he was not lying to them. Perhaps that's true, perhaps not.

Let's see the questions they did ask him and then make a determination. I sure as hell hope "potted plant" Sullivan does some sleuthing before rendering his decision.
