Mueller recommends no jail time for Flynn, although he remains a felon.
I assume The Resistance is swooning over the news that Flynn provided substantial assistance and sat for nineteen interviews. That clanging they hear itsn't Salvation Army bells, its jail cells slamming shut! But for all we know, Flynn sat for a series of "I'd love to help and I'm telling you all I know, which s nothing" interviews. Which, BTW, can still be helpful to a old-school prosecutor trying to understand a case. Since Mueller is trying to invent a case (we think, and we might be wrong!) that may be less helpful.
I assume The Resistance is swooning over the news that Flynn

I have no words for this spaghetti spined nonsense:
Lawmakers would still strip Gov.-elect Tony Evers of the power to appoint the head of the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp., under a revised proposal the Senate approved early Wednesday.
But that power would be restored in September in a move that appears designed to give the new guv and the GOP lawmakers a window to feel each other out on the direction of the state’s job creation agency.

Carried over from the previous thread--
But it's the same amount regardless of whether you only have spousal coverage and whether you also have family coverage. It appears to be treated as an aggregate dollar amount as the employer tries to recoup the entire aggregate increase divided up by employees with out regard to the cost of their insurance.
I did check individual coverage and apparently in Ga now for 2019 only hmo's are available. Take your pick-anthem or kp.
With red's it's a percentage that the employer pays and it varies on type of coverage and then translates into a dollar amount. I did discover with her that virtually all her peers at the same company stay on their parents' plan until they turn 27. Then they view the cost of insurance as a paycut.

One of the very exciting things to come out of my meeting with President Xi of China is his promise to me to criminalize the sale of deadly Fentanyl coming into the United States. It will now be considered a “controlled substance.” This could be a game changer on what is.......
.....considered to be the worst and most dangerous, addictive and deadly substance of them all. Last year over 77,000 people died from Fentanyl. If China cracks down on this “horror drug,” using the Death Penalty for distributors and pushers, the results will be incredible!

Well, either Trump allows Xi to save face and look like a good guy, or he could have treated it publicly as an act of war (which I think it was) and created a crisis.

None, henry. Not this type of employer.
She is also waiting until after open enrollment ends to tell the employees they are all losing their doctors and shifting to an hmo to save money. Most area hospitals will no longer be in-network and by the time employees find out it will be too late to compare with spouse's plan and switch.
The employer doesn't seem to understand that even the PPO option means most of this area will be off limits. I can see it coming and plan for it, but everyone else will be blindsided. Interesting as employer is a big bo/abrams fan.
Posted by: rse | December 05, 2018 at 09:07 AM
Healthcare used to be what I did and this appears to be worst possible way to handle either in terms of emplyee morale or the ultimate aggregate cost to employer because there is no incentive not to have the whole family on the plan apart from the fact it's now very tightly constrained coverage.
Posted by: rse | December 05, 2018 at 09:10 AM
rse, blame Obamacare. The costs you gotta eat to keep a current network are enormous. (at least in WI). The only way to save on health insurance is to crappify the plan enough that most employees flip to their spouse's employer's plan instead of yours. (similar to the under 27s staying on the parent's plan). Sounds like what happened. It is very tempting, and benefits consultants do offer that with a wink wink.

The Ewok on fire
Of Course: Mona Charen Begging a "Public-Spirited Billionaire" (Like George Soros or Pierre Omidyar, Maybe?) to Save the Weekly Standard
Julie Kelly mentioned Mona Charen being an "adviser" to yet another Pierre Omidyar NeverTrump project. I assume she has his phone number, so I guess she's blegging someone else?
I am also hearing this: Hayes' claim that he called all staffers to tell them this was on the horizon is false. This was a shock to many today, who learned it from Twitter.
It's not official without a Kira Media cartoon
Look at skinny-jean wearing sissy Oliver Darcy having xiself a little snit about having been misinformed about "all" the staff being told. Have a drink, Susan.
Hmmm... A friend points out that last night, leftwingers Jonathan Alter and Ryan Lizza praised the left-leaning Weekly Standard and Steven Hayes particularly. Why? What did they know? Why the pre-eulogy? Why the funeral for the friend, before the body was pronounced dead?
Did Hayes give left-wingers a heads up before his staff, to get out positive press for himself and grease the skids for his dream job at The Atlantic?
Another friend says another leaker at TWS, a lower-level swabbie, leaked the bullshit lie to Brian Stelter that the dirty corporation was cancelling the virtuous Weekly Standard to prioritize the "pro-Trump" Washington Examiner magazine. Um, Seth Mandel is a complete cuck who is right alongside Last and the rest of the wife-sharers in transitioning to left-liberal. It's absurd to claim Mandel is "pro-Trump" or that the already cuckish Washington Examiner will be putting out a "pro-Trump" magazine under the liberal Seth Mandel.
But a third-rate swabbie is lie-leaking to his good friend at CNN to smear the Washington Examiner. I wonder who. And I wonder who'd burn bridges with another media employer like that. Unless he already had a guarantee of work outside of the media. Heck, maybe this person was already receiving money for doing contract political ops on the side, maybe trying to smear conservatives, including people at the Washington Examiner

Gates has a lot of suspect stats. Almost as if he is using those to fit his narrative. For example, he compounds fossil fuel by using the increase in natural gas and decrease of coal as neutral when it comes to the difference in fossil-fuel use in last 20 years. NG is now reaching efficiency levels of where coal is with al the enviromental controls.
And if you are going to go to an all-electric transportation economy then you need an increase in baseload generating. You cannot get that from renewables even counting large Canadian hydro plants. He is also in favored of "forced" markets instead of letting the technology seek its own level of development and usage.
If he is looking at the 5 market contributors to greenhouse gases he should also look at micro-localized or distributed electric generation using fuel cells, for example. It would apply to Electricity, Manufacturing, Transportation and Building categories.
I applaud the fact that he is encouraging new thinking but is he prepared to step in with venture capital for technologies, approaches or policy changes he doesn't agree with but meet his emission targets?
Posted by: Jim Eagle | December 05, 2018 at 10:06 AM

I don't remember Flynn testifying at any court
hearing.
That was the point. The Flynn sentencing memo explicitly establishes there is another criminal investigation going on that has nothing to do with the Russian collusion investigation. The only SC investigation that Mueller has taken to trial is the Manafort case and Flynn did not testify in that case. Since it wasn't the Manafort case, what investigation did Flynn cooperate with that the Flynn sentencing memo refers to?
Posted by: Tom R | December 05, 2018 at 10:44 AM

We long ago stipulated that nobody here actually knows anything for sure. MM and I remain friends because after we yell at each other, we both know that.
Tempers flare here when one side or the other tries to force a "logical proof" down the throats of the other side, losing sight of the fact that all of us are just guessing...and wishing...and hoping.
And yes, I include myself as a culprit in the above from time to time.

How do you account for Mueller not following the evil, corrupt, Deep State, Black Hat script yesterday and not sending Mueller to prison?
How do you account for Flynn admitting to committing a crime for actions he did as incoming NSA that weren't a crime?
How do you account for Flynn pleading guilty to this non-crime over a full year ago and agreeing to allow Mueller to keep extending the sentencing date for some unspecified reason?

Keep in mind Flynn worked for Obama when the entire Iran deal went down. He was vehemently opposed to it and likely knows a lot of dirt about that deal. Flynn was also a character witness in support of FBI agent Robin Grist, who had filed a complaint against Andrew McCabe.

Maybe but it could also be other DOJ investigations that he's been ordered not to compromise. The main difference between you and JackStraw is that he only comments on things that can be factually proven. When he talks about other investigations he doesn't assume that Mueller is conducting them. They might be part and parcel of what was referred to the SDNY, for example.
There's still a lot that is unknown.

Yeah, North Platte yards are pretty amazing. One of of the best visits (out of countless) was on my buddy, the Chief Engineer’s special train loaded with a bunch of Chinese railroaders we were babysitting. We stopped at our megasite in Gothenburg first and then went on in to the yards. There is a multistory building that gives you a vista of the whole operation.
Speaking of the Chinese, Lance Fritz the current CEO led a big conference room presentation of all the spiffy stuff they were doing at UP. As part of that he mentions that they have 150 track inspectors for their 33,000 miles of track. As the interpreter translated that, I realized that it didn’t make any impact, so I interrupted and made them retranslate. Finally, it soaked in and the Chinese guys all went into a flurry of discussions. You see, the Chinese probably have one inspector per kilometer and it boggled their minds that we could do something like that. (We, as in all the NA railroads.)

For a long time I was under the belief that the extended length of the Mueller SC investigation might be to serve as a distraction while the Horowitz/Huber investigations were ongoing. The Panama Papers have the chance to take down a lot of globalist Swamp creatures.
What if instead the duration of the Mueller SC was to serve as a distraction while the DOJ worked on the Panama Paper indictments? I find it very interesting that on the same day Mueller releases the Flynn sentencing memo (which was a huge nothingburger in terms of destroying Trump) the DOJ drops the first indictments relating to the Panama Papers.

The main difference between you and JackStraw is that he only comments on things that can be factually proven
How did Jack Straw factually prove his belief that Rosenstein was a good guy working with Trump and not against him? He and I are in agreement about Rosenstein but my opinion is based on a gut feeling.
Posted by: Tom R | December 05, 2018 at 11:18 AM
what if that was posted by others here earlier? What does Panama Papers have to do with Mueller? any documentation of that leap?

I'm not sure about that because it was a long time ago. I know that when Rosenstein and Jim Jordan were arguing that he placed a lot of stock in RR stating that he was confident that the OIG FISA Report would exonerate him. JackStraw has been aware of lots of investigations going on but he shares my frustration at the snail's pace.

If Flynn's actual role in the Mueller White follies is to be a star witness against all things swamp, why does he need to plea out on anything? Shouldn't Mueller be offering him Cohen sized bargains on Justice?
Seems like an odd way to treat a teammate.

First off, I'm under the belief Mueller has known Flynn was a victim of FBI criminal misconduct from the outset and he has never been in serious legal jeopardy. I also think Flynn has known for a long time he wasn't ever going to spend a day in jail.
Since we know for a fact that the judge ordered Mueller to share exculpatory evidence with Flynn's lawyers combined with the fact we still do not know what Mueller and Trump discussed in their private meeting with one another, you can't rule out the possibility that Flynn has served as the conduit for Mueller and Trump to communicate with one another on the status of whatever criminal investigation Mueller is working on that was redacted in the sentencing memo. That would explain why Mueller kept extending Flynn's sentencing date. Until the real investigation was complete, that conduit needed to remain open.

Don Surber sticks up for Bush's legacy.
Interesting conspiracy theory in the comments from a while ago. Mena, Arkansas familiar to anyone?
https://donsurber.blogspot.com/2018/12/history-overlooks-bush-it-shouldnt.html
"It might almost be called The Greatest Story Never Told. The article was typeset and scheduled to run in today's edition of The Washington Post.
It had the enthusiastic backing of the editors and staff of the Sunday Outlook section, where it was to appear after 11 weeks of soul-searching and debate.
Lawyers had gone through the text line by line. Supporting documents had been examined with meticulous care. The artwork and illustrations had been completed. The contract with the authors had been signed. Leonard Downie, the executive editor of the newspaper, had given his final assent.
But on Thursday morning the piece was cancelled."

God, I hate Gates with the heat of 1K Suns. A ruthless little shit who had every break offered to him by his parents. I think it almost fits WFB’s Boston phonebook assumption. I’ll bet if it wasn’t for his commie wife pissing his money away in Africa, he would have disappeared into some recluse hideaway and never be heard of again. Of course, we seem to be suffering from that same shit with all his fellow deadbeat billionaires who ought to go find something beneficial to do with their lottery winnings. At least Paul Allen tended to mind his own bidness with the exception of writing a check to help destroy our 2nd A with the unconstitutional bill just passed here in WA. Maybe gigabucks are another form of crack that the gummint needs to regulate for their own good. :/

MT-I sat next to the head of apple years ago flying out to sf to handle some litigation. It took awhile for him to fess up who he was but he ended up telling stories about jobs, the ibm head, and gates, He had just been on the cover of some mag with them.
Anyway, he said it was gates' mom who understood the importance of maintaining ownership of the operating system ibm was putting in Pc's and ibm didn't appreciate the effect of that language.
Interesting conversation.
henry-I do blame o'care and understand networks but this will blindside so many people who will then have no recourse. Because the company brought in investment bankers this year who were careless, everyone is aware of the ebitda. Not giving employees the oppo to switch which would make sense. Handled abominably all the way around.

Tiny Tom's gurgling bullshit is humorous.
Mueller got a felony conviction on Flynn.
Tiny Tom thinks Mueller is a nice guy. White hat.

Tell us how you really feel, MT. :)
I agree, though. I'm sure we're all tired of these tech self-anointed 'gurus' pontificating about everything other than what they actually understand.
It almost makes me appreciate Steve Jobs, who was a selfish a**hole, but mainly inflicted his idiotic ideas on himself and his family.

I don’t see how anyone can question that Mueller is a black hat.
As far as in concerned, every single person at DoJ is a black hat, unless and until they demonstrate otherwise, publicly and unequivocally. And the same goes for pretty much every other government agency.

Imagine if she was smart enough to come out for fairness on Kavanaugh? She'd be a force to be reckoned with.

"First off, I'm under the belief Mueller has known Flynn was a victim of FBI criminal misconduct from the outset and he has never been in serious legal jeopardy. I also think Flynn has known for a long time he wasn't ever going to spend a day in jail.."
i won't attack what you believe, Tom R. should i choose to do so then the revolving door discussion and yeah buts are consequences i would bring upon myself.
having said that, there is plenty of evidence to suggest that Mueller's prosecution of Flynn had at least some of the poison in it contained in the modified 302s (do i have the right case here? those are probably ALL modified because that's what the FBI does to "badjacket" ALL suspects when building "air tight" cases).
so, FBI misconduct provides the foundation for Mueller misconduct. do you see my logic here? (yes or no question.)
secondly--- "serious legal jeopardy" is not limited to sentencing for incarceration. serious legal jeopardy is a composite experience, which begins with having to drain one's personal financial resources to cover one's defense.
the second element of "serious legal jeopardy" has to do with reputation--- in this case GLOBAL reputation of a distinguished intelligence asset and former member of the US' military command structure. Lt. General Flynn has been made an example of by the Cabal as to how their Star Chamber can toy with one's destruction and can determine how far and how deep they will turn the screw to make one an example of their absolute power.
the third element of "serious legal jeopardy" is the stripping of legal recourse to address this royal screwing. already the media has turned Mueller into a prosecutor with compassion because Lt. General Flynn is not going to serve time. that is zero sum thinking and it is incorrect, not to mention IRRATIONAL. what can Flynn do about this? sue the media for reverse defamation? no legal recourse. "Just eat it Flynn. You're lucky Mueller didn't give you the max for 'lying'."
Final point--- i subscribe to the point of view that Mueller is creating a list of scalps of non-related "offenses", indictments, and plea deals to hand to Congress which paint a picture of a SMOKE PLUME that insinuates presence of a hidden fire, somewhere.
And that hidden fire, if he's given enough time and perhaps another $100 million in billable hours, he will find. But in the meantime, impeach POTUS for wearing different colored socks on each foot.
Guilt insinuation BY association is the play. That is why Mueller, the skeleton keeper, is a Black Hat. POTUS has not fired him, nor Rosenstein, because like GHWB in the wake of Star Chamber's SP Walsh, he is guarding against impeachment.
Why would POTUS refrain-- i believe for the time being--- refrain from triggering his own impeachment? What is the play there? i think it is obvious.
Mueller is a pig. That is my belief. A pig wearing a necktie, who's disgraced the legacy of the United States Marine Corps. Time to strip him of some earned accolades--- we can start with that one--- Always Faithful, huh? To what? To whom? And why.
Thank you in advance for giving this post a careful reading.
GO IRISH!

jimmyk, that’s part of why billg is such a fraud. He and his pals wrote really shitty code. Woz apparently wrote great code, and Jobs at least recognized what was good code given that he did some good things with Next and then brought that back to Apple.
My major beef overall is that us users of all this stuff were forced at gunpoint to buy and use all that Microsquish crap, because all the vendors meekly got in line and delivered their stuff only for that platform. That and the ultimate leverage of destroying the common app vendors like WordPerfect who were deliberately squeezed out of the office apps by never getting access to each year’s opsys upgrade (using that term very loosely).

You are more than welcome to keep telling yourself that if it makes you feel better.
Do you think you are endearing yourself with the rest of the JOM community with that kind of behavior? You've had this problem in the past and it never works out in your favor. Curious to know why you thought it would be a good idea to revert back to it again.
