A REAL scandal is the one sided coverage, hour by hour, of networks like NBC & Democrat spin machines like Saturday Night Live. It is all nothing less than unfair news coverage and Dem commercials. Should be tested in courts, can’t be legal? Only defame & belittle! Collusion?
===================================
I am positive that there is a trail of money supporting network reporters and SNL writers from the democrats and certain government agencies.

So where are all the missing Text messages between fired FBI agents Peter S and the lovely Lisa Page, his lover. Just reported that they have been erased and wiped clean. What an outrage as the totally compromised and conflicted Witch Hunt moves ever so slowly forward. Want them!

Remember, Michael Cohen only became a “Rat” after the FBI did something which was absolutely unthinkable & unheard of until the Witch Hunt was illegally started. They BROKE INTO AN ATTORNEY’S OFFICE! Why didn’t they break into the DNC to get the Server, or Crooked’s office?

The Infamous Ignatz

As for the pastor who bought the Lamborghini for his wife, he apparently has his own reality show on some cable network and used those proceeds to buy it. And it was a Lambo SUV, not a supercar.

Whether it will fit through the eye of a needle is between him and God.

Gentlejim

Clarice,
Fantastic Pieces!!!

KK,
Thanks for your thoughts. I always try to be tactically sound and cringe frequently when I see what poor tactics other officers use personally and on tv. Complacency kills. I’ve always tried to be aware and have become more so as I approach retirement in a few years. A reminder: I’ll be Deputy Chief, #2, not Chief, #1. I know who #2 works for. :)

I’m with Janet on the Lambo purchasing pastor. I figured he would have purchased an Aventador since his wife’s name is Aventer.

Reposting from the other thread:

Clarice,

Probably after Christmas, so we will miss you.

Kurt Vonnegut lived in Sagaponack (The Hamptons) for years. Sag was the epicenter of the "writers community". E. L. Doctorow, Truman Capote, George Plimpton, et. al. When I would go home for my summer vacations, sometimes it was during the Artist & Writers softball game in East Hampton, and he would one of the players. Also, saw him once at Sip 'n Soda, in Southampton. He was with Robert Caro and Peter Mathieson.

BTW, Slaughterhouse Five was his 6th novel. The 5th novel was "God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater".

At the request of many, I will be reviewing the case of a “U.S. Military hero,” Major Matt Golsteyn, who is charged with murder. He could face the death penalty from our own government after he admitted to killing a Terrorist bomb maker while overseas. @PeteHegseth @FoxNews

I wish I’d remember to follow Howie Carr more closely. He really seems to enjoy what he’s doing. I know I enjoy it when I pay attention. I suppose I need to up my magnesium intake.

Jane

I'm thrilled that the President will review Major Matt Golsteyn's case. Fox has been talking about it endlessly all week, I'm sure to bring Trump's attention to it. Apparently the military exonerated him in 2013 and then said they found new evidence - none of which they have delivered.

Dr.J, thank you so much for that Mog the cat Sainsbury commercial--poor Mog, poor family! We own "Mog the Forgetful Cat," a small classic.

There was some item a couple months ago about a declaration that a person's sex is defined by his or her sex at birth, i.e. what any sane person would have taken for granted until about 10 years ago. (Yes, there have always been hermaphrodites other congenital deformities.)

Gentlejim

I wish I hadn’t followed the link to our host’s second linked article. Now I’m worried about polar bears melting. I should have stuck with his “Whatev” commentary.

Jim,SunnyvaleCA,USA

Nice Boston Tea Party link at Insty for those interested.

George Hewes was a member of the band of "Indians" that boarded the tea ships that evening. His recollection of the event was published some years later. We join his story as the group makes its way to the tea-laden ships:

"It was now evening, and I immediately dressed myself in the costume of an Indian, equipped with a small hatchet, which I and my associates denominated the tomahawk, with which, and a club, after having painted my face and hands with coal dust in the shop of a blacksmith, I repaired to Griffin's wharf, where the ships lay that contained the tea. When I first appeared in the street after being thus disguised, I fell in with many who were dressed, equipped and painted as I was, and who fell in with me and marched in order to the place of our destination.

MissMarple2

The left has created an imaginary Trump that has nothing to do with the real one. Then they take "stands" against the imaginary one.

The gay commuity is full of epople who think he hates gays, even as he has appointed the first openly gay ambassador, Richard Grenell, to a very important country, Germany.

He's accused of being racist even though he has lowered black unemployment, started a program with opportunity zones for investment in urban communities (praised by the head of BET who was there at the signing of the EO), and appointed many blacks to positions.

He's accused of being sexist even though he has numerous women cabinet officers.

It just goes on and on. I am sick of it. The press is a disgrace.

Old Lurker

The Press is, indeed, a disgrace.

But only one of a number of our institutions (including our families) which are just as responsible. And, frankly, they are as much a disgrace as are the millions who find affirmation for their own twisted, irrational, illogical and ahistorical "feelings" in what the press feeds right back at them.

James D.

My bigger point in this post, James D., is this: our adversary wants us to be jaded and disrespectful of ordinary Americans, including our average civil servants. They very much want us to lose faith because that is the one component that *most* distinguishes us from the rest of the world.

Putting aside the current players and debate...we should absolutely NOT have faith in civil servants.

Not because they are Dems or leftists or government employees.

Because they are human beings.

They are fallible, corruptible, subject to groupthink and CUA and mission creep and on and on and on. The genius of our Constitution is the understanding that all those things are inevitable, and so they are guarded against with many checks and balances and hard limits on government power.

Which of course have all been ignored over time, which is why we are where we are.

Old Lurker

James, there is a scene in the first Philbrick book in his trilogy of our founding where a Gov of the Crown in MA, having been in Boston for many years, travelled back to London to confer with the King about the increasing peskiness of the colonists. After a few days there, his number one takeaway was how the entire British government had, during the 10-20 years he had been away representing and fighting for the King, been overwhelmed by hordes of civil servants then in place in 1770, all of whom seemed to him to be draining away the wealth of the Empire and destroying its progress by overwhelming and smothering controls and regulations.

MissMarple2

pagar,

Once again, this is on the press and TV reporters, who didn't give a damn when Bill Clinton paid out money to Paula Jones.

I just got done explaining this slush fund to my daughter, who is outraged and thinks we need to move the government to Kansas or something.

I also explained about the missing text messages and the 302's. She thinks that people should not be allowed to manufacture or destroy evidence at will.

Re the gummint overstepping it’s purview, the following letter was sent out to our little property rights group.

Dear XXXX,

Just when we thought that this year’s Thanksgiving holiday was behind us, the U.S. Supreme Court gave PLF client Edward Poitevent—and all Americans—another huge reason to give thanks.

For years, Edward fought the federal government’s designation of his private property in Louisiana as a critical habitat for a threatened frog that does not—and cannot—even live on his property. In fact, this species of frog hasn’t even been seen in Louisiana in 50 years, and it couldn’t live on his property even if someone put it there.

Edward’s case, rolled into Weyerhaeuser v. U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, was the very first to be heard by the High Court on the opening Monday of the October term.

Yesterday, the Supreme Court announced its unanimous decision that the government far exceeded its constitutional authority by stretching the definition of critical habitat. This absurdity rankled Chief Justice John Roberts enough to quip in the opinion, “According to the ordinary understanding of how adjectives work, ‘critical habitat’ must also be ‘habitat.’ Adjectives modify nouns."

Even more, the Court killed a pernicious practice whereby courts refuse to review the decisions of regulatory agencies. The takeaway is a very clear, severe message the Justices sent to government agencies intent on abusing their administrative powers: stop exploiting your power!

On behalf of all of us at PLF, I invite you to join me in celebrating this epic Supreme Court victory—our third win this year alone and 11th overall. (And, we’re awaiting a decision in another property rights case, which will be reargued in front of the Supreme Court in 2019.)

This record of success is unmatched by any other organization of our kind. It speaks volumes about the dedication of our team in defending—and delivering!—liberty and justice for all.

Of course, our success is your success. Thank you for standing with PLF as we empower everyday Americans to fight the goliath of Big Government.

As a reminder, the crusty old lawyer who we paid to represent us actually worked for Perkins Coie.

MissMarple2

Jack,

Fox has been on a downhill run for the last 3 years. The Shep Smith hour became increasingly leftist, to the point that I would physically turn the TV off when he came on.

Then, Brett Baier bragged about how he and Megyn Kelly were practicing debate questions. Kelly, of course, got to ask the ambush questions to Trump, but Baier knew about it so did not escape my contempt. I quit watching his show. Cavuto started pushing the Chamber of Commerce line and sounding quite a bit like Bill Kristol, and then Dana Perino got snarky.

I had gotten to the point that when we moved here, I only watched Fox and Friends and then Tucker Carlson in the evening. Tucker's been going off the rails from time to time, and I find I don't miss having cable TV.

The best thing would be if someone bought Fox who understood the concept "fair and balanced." I do not hold out hope, though.

Captain Hate

To my mind it is worse when a relative uses others good manners to rudely condescend without repercussions.

GentleJim’s reminder about the upcoming anniversary of the Romanian Dance has actually been nagging me for some time. As y’all may recall, we were in Bucharest a year ago last September. We spent an afternoon with a fellow who was badly wounded at the time of the Fearless Leader’s attack along side his pal, another teen who had had his head blown off.

So, is there an inviolate rule that we are forbidden to correct the terminal state of this once great republic with the benefit of our 2nd Amendment until a sufficient number of us are fired upon?

If the proper recourse of the justice system is inop, what may we be allowed to use as a signal to know if now is the time? If not now, when?

Gentlejim

Agreed. I've given preemptive warnings to my lib family members that all condescension will be recognized and responded to accordingly.

KK, you cannot let that crap go unaddressed.
Kill them oh so kindly with facts. Because they have none.
And that will make it stop.

None of my Leftist relatives ever bring up politics in my presence now, because for the past five or six years, nearly every time when they'd say some ridiculous thing like it was received wisdom, I'd ask "What makes you say that?"

You know, Like POTUS won't let Muslims in, I'd point out that there were restrictions on six countries, not 126 countries. That the largest Muslim countries had zero restrictions. Stuff like that.

Now, most adults realize it sounds incredibly pathetic to say "Rachel Maddow said so" and if they do quote the fraction of a sentence from POTUS they heard played, I'll ask "Did you pull up the video to listen to his entire statement" or something, and they get that are looking like a child being fed rice cereal.

So they shut up.
Which is at least a start. A good start.

(We are talking mainly the married in "educators" (formerly known as teachers). Most of my blood relatives are too experienced in life in the real world (business owners or professionals) to buy the D line.
All of my sibs are NeverDs, thank God.)

And you know dang well, your relatives are questioning how the great guy they know you to be can support a racist bigoted homophobic misogynist---which makes them realize maybe POTUS may not be that....
They certainly know you aren't a white supremacist.

jimmyk

We have a "no politics" rule at large family gatherings.

Same. Or even small ones. My mother, God bless her, can't help herself one-on-one, but I don't engage, for the most part.

Tom R

Narciso,

Ditto for you. Where do you get off thinking anyone can make assertions of fact and even state specific values without backing it up with a citation? Clarice stated Flynn’s legal fees surpassed $3 million dollars. How does she know that? There is absolutely nothing wrong whatsoever asking her where she got that information.

Captain Hate

The costs of high scale legal defenses are huge and effectively drove Newt and Palin from public life to Uniparty approval. If conservatives ever felt like adopting gutter tactics they could make AOC's benefactors have to pony up more than they anticipated.

Gentlejim

I enjoyed the story MM linked at 1248.

Tom R

CH @ 1:22

I am not disputing legal fees can get expensive. If I said Flynn's legal fees only amounted to $1000 dollars you know good and well a lot of people here would demand for me to provide a citation backing up that claim. No different for Clarice when in her article she says its over $3 million dollars.

henry

$3 million, $300 thousand, $30 million. What difference does it make? Any of those numbers crush someone at Flynn’s pay grade.

Old Lurker
