A REAL scandal is the one sided coverage, hour by hour, of networks like NBC & Democrat spin machines like Saturday Night Live. It is all nothing less than unfair news coverage and Dem commercials. Should be tested in courts, can’t be legal? Only defame & belittle! Collusion?
===================================
I am positive that there is a trail of money supporting network reporters and SNL writers from the democrats and certain government agencies.

So where are all the missing Text messages between fired FBI agents Peter S and the lovely Lisa Page, his lover. Just reported that they have been erased and wiped clean. What an outrage as the totally compromised and conflicted Witch Hunt moves ever so slowly forward. Want them!

As for the pastor who bought the Lamborghini for his wife, he apparently has his own reality show on some cable network and used those proceeds to buy it. And it was a Lambo SUV, not a supercar.
Whether it will fit through the eye of a needle is between him and God.

KK,
Thanks for your thoughts. I always try to be tactically sound and cringe frequently when I see what poor tactics other officers use personally and on tv. Complacency kills. I’ve always tried to be aware and have become more so as I approach retirement in a few years. A reminder: I’ll be Deputy Chief, #2, not Chief, #1. I know who #2 works for. :)
I’m with Janet on the Lambo purchasing pastor. I figured he would have purchased an Aventador since his wife’s name is Aventer.

Clarice,
Probably after Christmas, so we will miss you.
Kurt Vonnegut lived in Sagaponack (The Hamptons) for years. Sag was the epicenter of the "writers community". E. L. Doctorow, Truman Capote, George Plimpton, et. al. When I would go home for my summer vacations, sometimes it was during the Artist & Writers softball game in East Hampton, and he would one of the players. Also, saw him once at Sip 'n Soda, in Southampton. He was with Robert Caro and Peter Mathieson.
BTW, Slaughterhouse Five was his 6th novel. The 5th novel was "God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater".

Nice Boston Tea Party link at Insty for those interested.
George Hewes was a member of the band of "Indians" that boarded the tea ships that evening. His recollection of the event was published some years later. We join his story as the group makes its way to the tea-laden ships:
"It was now evening, and I immediately dressed myself in the costume of an Indian, equipped with a small hatchet, which I and my associates denominated the tomahawk, with which, and a club, after having painted my face and hands with coal dust in the shop of a blacksmith, I repaired to Griffin's wharf, where the ships lay that contained the tea. When I first appeared in the street after being thus disguised, I fell in with many who were dressed, equipped and painted as I was, and who fell in with me and marched in order to the place of our destination.

The left has created an imaginary Trump that has nothing to do with the real one. Then they take "stands" against the imaginary one.
The gay commuity is full of epople who think he hates gays, even as he has appointed the first openly gay ambassador, Richard Grenell, to a very important country, Germany.
He's accused of being racist even though he has lowered black unemployment, started a program with opportunity zones for investment in urban communities (praised by the head of BET who was there at the signing of the EO), and appointed many blacks to positions.
He's accused of being sexist even though he has numerous women cabinet officers.
It just goes on and on. I am sick of it. The press is a disgrace.

My bigger point in this post, James D., is this: our adversary wants us to be jaded and disrespectful of ordinary Americans, including our average civil servants. They very much want us to lose faith because that is the one component that *most* distinguishes us from the rest of the world.
Putting aside the current players and debate...we should absolutely NOT have faith in civil servants.
Not because they are Dems or leftists or government employees.
Because they are human beings.
They are fallible, corruptible, subject to groupthink and CUA and mission creep and on and on and on. The genius of our Constitution is the understanding that all those things are inevitable, and so they are guarded against with many checks and balances and hard limits on government power.
Which of course have all been ignored over time, which is why we are where we are.

James, there is a scene in the first Philbrick book in his trilogy of our founding where a Gov of the Crown in MA, having been in Boston for many years, travelled back to London to confer with the King about the increasing peskiness of the colonists. After a few days there, his number one takeaway was how the entire British government had, during the 10-20 years he had been away representing and fighting for the King, been overwhelmed by hordes of civil servants then in place in 1770, all of whom seemed to him to be draining away the wealth of the Empire and destroying its progress by overwhelming and smothering controls and regulations.

Finally, a minor correction to my friend A-mom in her summary of attitudes on the Ledge and lesser hideouts. A-mom, you said that Ledge Dwellers assume it is all over and that all is lost. That is not the case! We think that we are well along on that path but have not jumped off the cliff yet and thus have hope we will not have to. Recall that the original architecture of the place was a tall ledge hovering over a bunch of sharp rocks at ground level, with diving boards for us to use when and if the final defenses of the castle are breached. We all have great hope, but we chose to recognize the direction the tide is taking. Just in case.

Jack,
Fox has been on a downhill run for the last 3 years. The Shep Smith hour became increasingly leftist, to the point that I would physically turn the TV off when he came on.
Then, Brett Baier bragged about how he and Megyn Kelly were practicing debate questions. Kelly, of course, got to ask the ambush questions to Trump, but Baier knew about it so did not escape my contempt. I quit watching his show. Cavuto started pushing the Chamber of Commerce line and sounding quite a bit like Bill Kristol, and then Dana Perino got snarky.
I had gotten to the point that when we moved here, I only watched Fox and Friends and then Tucker Carlson in the evening. Tucker's been going off the rails from time to time, and I find I don't miss having cable TV.
The best thing would be if someone bought Fox who understood the concept "fair and balanced." I do not hold out hope, though.

GentleJim’s reminder about the upcoming anniversary of the Romanian Dance has actually been nagging me for some time. As y’all may recall, we were in Bucharest a year ago last September. We spent an afternoon with a fellow who was badly wounded at the time of the Fearless Leader’s attack along side his pal, another teen who had had his head blown off.
So, is there an inviolate rule that we are forbidden to correct the terminal state of this once great republic with the benefit of our 2nd Amendment until a sufficient number of us are fired upon?
If the proper recourse of the justice system is inop, what may we be allowed to use as a signal to know if now is the time? If not now, when?

KK, you cannot let that crap go unaddressed.
Kill them oh so kindly with facts. Because they have none.
And that will make it stop.
None of my Leftist relatives ever bring up politics in my presence now, because for the past five or six years, nearly every time when they'd say some ridiculous thing like it was received wisdom, I'd ask "What makes you say that?"
You know, Like POTUS won't let Muslims in, I'd point out that there were restrictions on six countries, not 126 countries. That the largest Muslim countries had zero restrictions. Stuff like that.
Now, most adults realize it sounds incredibly pathetic to say "Rachel Maddow said so" and if they do quote the fraction of a sentence from POTUS they heard played, I'll ask "Did you pull up the video to listen to his entire statement" or something, and they get that are looking like a child being fed rice cereal.
So they shut up.
Which is at least a start. A good start.
(We are talking mainly the married in "educators" (formerly known as teachers). Most of my blood relatives are too experienced in life in the real world (business owners or professionals) to buy the D line.
All of my sibs are NeverDs, thank God.)
And you know dang well, your relatives are questioning how the great guy they know you to be can support a racist bigoted homophobic misogynist---which makes them realize maybe POTUS may not be that....
They certainly know you aren't a white supremacist.

Posted by: Tom R | December 16, 2018 at 01:20 PM
The costs of high scale legal defenses are huge and effectively drove Newt and Palin from public life to Uniparty approval. If conservatives ever felt like adopting gutter tactics they could make AOC's benefactors have to pony up more than they anticipated.

$3 million, $300 thousand, $30 million. What difference does it make? Any of those numbers crush someone at Flynn’s pay grade.

TomR cannot let Clarice's $3M figure stand because it would undermine the totality of the Mueller White Hat horseshit he has been selling here since he arrived with that calvary of one. OK two.
And, as the only poster here who has, with her husband, deep professional and social connections with the DC legal community spanning almost her entire adult lifetime, she often knows things she might love to source but cannot.
Deal with it.

Tom, take a break from this topic.
For your own good.
Posted by: Another Bob | December 16, 2018 at 01:41 PM
TomR:
You have presented no facts that dispute that this Flynn case has not cost his family dearly.
You keep searching in vain for evidence that Flynn has not been harmed, when in fact he has harmed.
You try to make your puzzle pieces fit and they just really don’t. Sorry I am much more comfortable believing Clarice and other posters than I am you and your out of touch with reality theories.

TomR:
Resorting to name calling me a prog does nothing to make your argument stronger.
In fact it weakens it.

Whoda thunk a guy serving life would take off given the chance? Was Katshit running Ohio DOC back in the day?

This is a lovely story of the unlikely friendship between Charles Barkley and a Chinese cat litter scientist from Iowa.
Charles is capable of saying some really dumb things at times but he's one of the few high exposure basketball people I find interesting. When he was playing and threw some clown through a plate glass window in the Flats, I figured some drunk deadbeat told his idiot friends to watch him get in Barkley's face and suffered the deserved consequences. I'm glad MM linked that.

Yeah, anonamom. Questions kill leftists.
They're not used to having to defend their ideas.
Ask a few specific questions & they will shut up.

Tom, I wasn't questioning the justification of getting proof; just making a related point.

Should be been harmed
Posted by: D | December 16, 2018 at 01:46 PM
Henry, thought I recalled reading somewhere that Flynn’s net worth was about $7M. Always wondered how a career gubbmint type generates that kind of coin. Wife a lobbyist or lawyer or somesuch?
Posted by: Another Bob | December 16, 2018 at 01:47 PM
Flynn's sister was the source, Tom R, and I figure she knows.

Tom,
I think you should start a 4D website. You would probably get lots of hits.

Another Bob, own a house in DC long enough, that explains a lot of it.

Tom R. is a nice little guy.

No different for Clarice?
Really TomR , you need to review the JOM manual.
You don’t actually know a lot of the posters you are trying to get the best if here.
Doesn’t it surprise you that the majority of posters here disagree with you?
Even I was finally convinced that Flake was in fact a doofus Flake.

Good point Henry.
Jane, I think he has. (ahem)
