They’ve given strong warning that Macron’s signing the U.N. Global Migration Pact strips France of even more sovereignty providing an additional reason for “an already battered people” to “revolt”.
The highly decorated military co-signees assert that the beleaguered Macron is “guilty of a denial of democracy or treason against the nation” for signing the migration pact without putting it to the people.
sounds like pretty solid logic to me.

If not then that girl has absolutely nothing in common with Hillary.

FTA (epoch times))In hindsight, the reason that Rosenstein told Grassley that Pientka couldn’t be made available for testimony to his committee could be very relevant: He informed Grassley there was a “pending criminal prosecution.” But Grassley instantly dismissed this because he took Rosenstein’s statement to be about the already closed prosecution of Flynn.
What if Rosenstein was being forced to obliquely admit there was a different criminal investigation underway, in which Pientka is playing a key role and Grassley completely missed the hint?
Were the plotters inside the FBI who were planning to entrap Flynn forced to created a new FD-302 filing for the record more than six months afterward because Pientka refused to go along with this plan to frame an innocent man?
I think this is a plausible explanation--also for the sentencing delay.
Posted by: clarice | December 16, 2018 at 09:47 PM
Tom R seems to be gone, but (with some trepidation) I have a question:
If Flynn allowed himself to be charged and plead guilty to lying to the FBI in order to further a sting campaign against the true lawbreakers, a fiction which he has continued to maintain, aren't he, and his lawyers (and Mueller in this 4-D scenario) guilty of wilfully defrauding the people who have been contributing to his Gofundme for his legal fees?

That Eschenbach link was a very good one, Iggy.
My argument against subsidies for "alternative energy" has been and remains that because oil is such a cheap, abundant, portable and efficient source of energy, all the subsidies in the world will never prevent it from being used. All the subsidies do is make everything more expensive.
This usually stops the discussion with the greenie types. Shockingly, though, most of them have no understanding of simple economic concepts, and I often suspect that the ensuing change of subject is due to their dismissal of me as a right-wing crank. Sigh.
Posted by: boatbuilder | December 16, 2018 at 09:59 PM
I think this is a plausible explanation--also for the sentencing delay.
If we are making bets as to convict, delay, or toss come 18 December, I'm betting delay, though I think Sullivan without any possible question has all he needs to toss and he ought to toss. If he does delay I hope he devotes every second of the delay planning out how to successfully and brutally hammer the life out of every one of these corrupt buggers once he does toss. On the other hand, if he convicts then I hope he is hung from the streetlamps on the National Mall.

A bit on Wilson from 2015. He was out stumping for the Iran deal.
"Ambassador Wilson said that Israel needs to find peace with its neighbors. This agreement gives Israel time to do that. Wilson did not hide his disdain for Netanyahu or AIPAC, which he said is an arm of Likud and divides all of us. AIPAC shapes the discussion in a toxic way."

Bell's Oberon is a summer staple of a refreshing pale wheat ale. I'm not an IPA fan but will gladly drink a Two Hearted if something more specifically to my liking isn't available.
Bell's is right up there with Founder's in terms of quality. Some of their limited releases are harder to find than those of Founder's. I got skunked on finding their barrel aged Expedition Stout over which my fellow sots have been foaming at the mouth; they were irritatingly vague about its release date and my usual places didn't have it. Plus I'm too old to go chasing those things like a reprobate.

That’s not the spike strip that caused that dipshit to crash. Being a shitty driver caused the crash. Spike strips do not immediately deflate the tire they allow for a gradual release of the air through very small tubes imbedded in the tire.
Posted by: Gentlejim | December 16, 2018 at 11:32 PM
Looks like he tried to go around the spike strip, and hit the snow on the side of the road.
Posted by: Dave (in MA) | December 16, 2018 at 11:35 PM
Going full screen shows he actually hit the spike strip with one or both of his left tires.

daddy
You ever read Ed Klein's The Amateur?
Posted by: Pinandpuller | December 16, 2018 at 11:39 PM
Here’s my view: driver going way too fast down a grade that curves back to the driver’s left as it starts back uphill. Shitty driver tries to evade spikes by steering to the right. He strikes the spikes with at least the left front tire. Shitty driver oversteers left and over brakes causing the car to skid/spin. Never lock the brakes on a front wheel drive car and expect any steering correction. Shitty driver loses.
Posted by: Gentlejim | December 16, 2018 at 11:43 PM
Why would you put a spike strip there, instead of merely block the road?

Road blocks are considered lethal force. I don’t see anything wrong with that deployment. If you wait for perfect conditions you’ll be waiting all day.
Posted by: Gentlejim | December 16, 2018 at 11:48 PM
gentlejim mentioned it above ... spike strips don't (or at least shouldn't) blow out a tire ... they deflate them. think of it as driving over a box of finishing nails for a doll house. shitty driver, bad situation, wreck ...
Posted by: rich | December 16, 2018 at 11:49 PM
The mistake the Maine cops made was to deploy the strip where they'd lined the road with civilian cars.
Posted by: Dave (in MA) | December 16, 2018 at 11:51 PM
I defer to Gentlejim's insight.

What’s up the road beyond the crest of the hill behind the camera, Dave? I don’t know and I certainly won’t call where the spikes were deployed a mistake. You have a two lane road with people going home from work. I’d bet that road looks like that for miles. Again, I have no issues. The deploying and support officers were even behind cover.

The cars lining the sides of the road aren’t parked. People in Maine apparently follow the law and yield to emergency vehicles by pulling off the road to the right. What would be free-flowing traffic looks like parked cars, but are actually good people doing what they should.

no reason to think General Flynn's loyas aren't burning up billable hours at a similar rate for just thinking about the Flynn case while sucking up that retainer month after month.
Flynn plead guilty on 1 DEC 2017. We know with certainty he fully cooperated with the SC and after he had already plead guilty had 19 meetings lasting 62 hours and 45 minutes. Since he had already plead guilty, would Flynn have needed multiple lawyers representing him at that point? IANAL but my bet is no. My guess is he would only need one lawyer present at that point.
Can anyone with legal experience explain what kind of work a lawyer would actually be doing for their client for a full year after they had already pleaded guilty? Just trying to figure out what kind of work effort would generate enough billable hours to generate $3 million in legal fees.
I think we are both in agreement of the possibility of a military-led sting operation that Flynn has some role in. If a sting operation of some kind is actually going on, by default that means there is a high degree of deception required to make the sting work.
With that out of the way, John Solomon and Sara Carter are the two primary conduits of pro-MAGA leaks. Many of these pro-MAGA leaks are crafted to specifically create a convincing narrative. Sara's reporting of Flynn incurring $3 million in legal fees is from an anonymous source. How reliable have anonymous sources been since Trump took office? Since no one from the Flynn camp was directly cited the reported $3 million in legal fees comes across to me as intentionally deceptive misinformation.
Keeping in mind that nothing about this case makes sense, when you consider the possibility that there is some kind of military-led sting operation going on, this kind of deceptive misinformation targets two separate audiences. For Trump supporters, it is intended to piss us off and reinforce the narrative that the Mueller is a witch hunt.
On the other hand when Trump's enemies hear that Flynn has spent $3 million in legal fees it triggers their confirmation bias that Mueller is hot on the trail of Trump. They have zero suspicion whatsoever of a sting operation going on to take down the Deep State.
In other words, I think the $3 million value that we only know about due to anonymous sources is nowhere close to being the real amount of money Flynn has had to pay in legal fees. I think someone involved in the sting operation leaked that value to Sara Carter.
If I was writing the Spygate movie script that is how I would incorporate the plot twist.

I have not. I am so politicked out every day that I still haven't even read the Anne Colter Book she signed for me at her speech up here before the 2016 Election---something about Trump. I find that I choose to read stuff that escapes me from this dreary stuff we are bombarded with 24/7.
The company is deadheading me commercially as a passenger to Singapore via Seattle and San Fran starting Tuesday morning, so thats like 3 days of free drinks and free time to read whatever I want. I'll be done with Hornblower by the time I leave Seattle so I'm grappling now with what to read on the following 2 hour leg, then on the 17 hour leg.
I've got "Young Ben Franklin" and "First Man---Neil Armstrong" from the new book stacks in the library---both look good. I've got the 2nd volume of "An Army At Dawn" that I have to get to. I have been ordered to read "Sapiens" by a co-pilot, and "Travels With Herodotus" looks fav. We're doing Australia this trip so I have Joseph Bank's "Endeavor Diary" from Cooks 1st Voyage, and I also have to get to "The Dig Tree," the account of the last real early Aussie exploring adventure I haven't read yet. And or another 20-30 I got at Moe's on Chinese History and Science, etc. so I don't know which I'll wind up with, but I can't force myself to do a depressing recent political book:(
