Mrs Iggy was a hygienist, Robin, and she was quite good at getting people's gaps back into the healthy range.
One thing she always told me to do was brush and thereby massage my gums, just as long as I did my teeth to prevent receding of the gums.
Some people are also more prone to tartar, which causes gums to recede, and need more frequent cleanings no matter how well they brush.
I personally think governors make the best presidents.
Example: Ronald Reagan and George W Bush.
They also make good senators.
Cuomo and Brown are from hopelessly leftists states of New York and California.
They provide the exception to the rule.
Iggy:
Dumb voters account for Markey bring a senator.
The same one dummies that voted for Senator Kennedy after he killed Mary Jo.The same people voted for Elizabeth Warren .
The list of fools and idiots who have served as Governors and Senators from every state in the union is long, illustrious and proves there is no rule to except.
What is interesting to me about the use of the word "Bulwark", is that in engineering it refers to a "seawall" or "breakwater". Usually ordered up by the harbor master or the local Admiral:)
I have been fighting the receding gum problem for about a decade. In my case, getting my teeth cleaned every 3 months and a Sonicare has shown the most benefit.
I alternate cleanings between the Perio and regular dentist office. They collaborate (in the same complex) so I don't get duplicate x-rays, etc.
Perio office cleanings are a bit more intense.
The frequent cleanings means extra $$$/year, but the idea of throwing in the towel and settling for dentures leaves me cold.
One of the most prominent groups advocating for stricter immigration went to court Wednesday to demand a judge order the Southern Poverty Law Center to stop labeling it a “hate group,” accusing the self-described watchdog of running an illegal racket to silence political opponents.
The Center for Immigration Studies says the SPLC’s accusations of “racist” and “anti-immigrant” are not only wrong, but they have cost the nonprofit support and financial backing by scaring people away from doing business with the center.
CIS brought its challenge in federal district court in Washington, D.C., filing a civil complaint under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) act against SPLC President Richard Cohen and Heidi Beirich, who runs the group’s Hatewatch blog.
Mark Krikorian, CIS’s executive director, says his organization doesn’t meet the SPLC’s own definition of a hate group and the Alabama-based watchdog knows it, but persists anyway — which he said was evidence of the racket.
“SPLC and its leaders have every right to oppose our work on immigration, but they do not have the right to label us a hate group and suggest we are racists,” he said. “The Center for Immigration Studies is fighting back against the SPLC smear campaign and its attempt to stifle debate through intimidation and name-calling.”

Fox is told today's planning meeting for State of the Union at the Capitol today was postponed at the request of the Speaker’s Office.
======================================
They are trying to keep him off TV, like that earlier Twitter user said. They did NOT expect that Oval Office speech to be effective, and Nancy and Chuck did not realize what fools they would look like.
Jack, not sure about the Zamboni driver. A sad New England story is that the American man killed in the terrorist attack in Kenya attended Hebron Academy,a private high school in Maine.
I discovered, a year later, that my car accident not only broke my C2 in two places but also cracked several (current count is 5) molars below the gum line. Things were fine until a year later when the cracks worked their way to the surface sort of like a cracked car windshield. So far I've had to have 4 of them removed and will be getting implant$ as I can afford them.
Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be any fix for a cracked tooth. I hope your gums can be rehabilitated. I guess we all take our teeth for granted until something goes wrong.
I agree on getting another opinion. You might inquire about the problems the wisdom teeth are causing. Mine never hurt, but they pushed my teeth together and caused several to have to be removed.
Thank you all so much. I’ve been a little miffed at my dentist’s attitude, so a second opinion is in order. We are very fortunate to have dental insurance through my husband’s job.
My dentist recommended a Hydrofloss to address my gum problems. I dipped Skoal for a long time when I was in the Army and it caused permanent gum damage. This product uses magnetic technology to treat the gums which apparently is different from other systems.

I was surprised to learn in this article that Vicente Fox was nearly bankrupt when he was elected. Wasn't he the head of Mexico's division of Coca-Cola?
one of the USS Indianapolis survivors lives north of here in Benecia. has some grizzly tales to tell. not only were they off the radar in 3 days, there sector was swarming with sharks.
The new info coming from the Papodopolous testimony leak is that a few days after Trump was inaugurated the FBI under Comey requested Papodoplous wear a wire when meeting Joseph Mifsud. My assumption is that Peter Strzok was likely involved since it was a CounterIntel investigation. TBD is the motive behind why the FBI wanted to get dirt on Mifsud. Were they wanting to silence him? There has to be some reason Mifsud went underground incognito living under a new identity. Sounds like he is in fear for his life.
The meeting with Kotzias was significant because Papadopoulos claims it was the only time he told anyone directly that Russia was in possession of thousands of Hillary Clinton’s emails, a rumor he learned from Maltese professor Joseph Mifsud.
Papadopoulos learned about the alleged existence of the Clinton emails during a meeting with Mifsud in London on April 26, 2016. Papadopoulos would later lie to the FBI that he was not part of the Trump campaign when the meeting occurred. He served a 14-day prison sentence for that offense last year, as a result of a prosecution by special counsel Robert Mueller.
“If Mifsud really was working with the FBI, this is incredibly problematic, because, during my second meeting with the FBI agent, [Agent A], he tells me basically, we want you to wear a wire to go after Joseph Mifsud or to get some sort of information about him. I rejected it,” Papadopoulos told lawmakers.
Pelosi is not ready to approve the money for the WALL so there is no openness to end shutdown, IMO, she and Schumer are determined to fill America with her illegals.

I surprised that anyone talking about a 100 million dollar bribe is still alive.
So I guess these are the new standards:
* Do not attend the inauguration of a President of the United States from another party. Organize protests to disrupt the event.
* If a President addresses the nation, the opposition party will be given equal time.
* A 4th branch of government will be set up by the opposition party to investigate, monitor, & harass the party that won the election.
* The annual State of the Union speech will no longer be held in Congress.
This is all fine, but I just want to be clear on the rules & standards.
Nothing in the Constitution says he has to make the SOFTU in the walls of Congress. He can make it in the local Starbucks, or he can do on the Rush Limbaugh show. Probably get more listeners.
Whatever he chooses, it will be classic Trump, and it will be unpredictable. Its no contest between him, Pelosi and Schumer.

and, therefore, they are fraudulently raising cash money citing their "work against such racist/white supremacist organizations as...." nail their fundraising techniques to the wall and jail the lot of them....mail fraud, wire fraud.... multiple thousands of counts since 2008?
Not sure who leaked my congressional testimony, but I hope it sheds light to the American people how dangerous it was for Trump associates from 2015-2017 just doing their job in the middle of the Obama CIA/MI6 and other rogue DOJ elements trying to set everyone up and spy.
I am thinking someplace symbolic of the fight. Someplace like the border.
A raised visual platform like you see for people looking at building a house and need to understand their view. Maybe speak to the caravan. Too bad he doesn't speak Spanish. That is what I would do. The SOFTU in Spanish on the Arizona border.
Easy. Tongue in cheek. But he needs to make it effective. What is the issue of the day? The border and illegal immigration. You need to be projective. At the border speaking to the country, you carry your message in clearer terms.
JIB:
Pelosi’s face looked like it had a layer of sweat on it.
She looked like death warmed over.
All she needed was the strawberries.
She is one sick woman.
She thinks in her delusion she is winning this stand off.
Well the bigger they are ,the harder they fall.
Som Dems think they are getting a MLK recess until the 28th.
They have wasted the entire month in the House doing nothing.
On the other hand, those caravan people need to know he means business. They should fly down some TV's to the caravan (with some sort of batteries to run them) and pipe his speech in, with voice-over translations so they can hear that they might as well go back home.
I also think a big screen TV in the House chambers while he gives the address from his site of choice would be good.
President Trump is in his element in big arenas in front of big crowds.
I had been dreading the immature actions of the Dems at the SOTU. You know they would act out and try to embarrass our President or at least give the MSM something else to talk about.
It looks like fancy nancy has just cheated herself and her minions out of the ability to control the news cycle. If they aren't there, what will CNN talk about (except the fact that they aren't there?)
Momto2:
An additional benefit is that their rebuttal, if they have one will seem out of touch and remote.
The last two they gave were awful.
They may want to showcase a 2020 wannabe and the fight for who gets to be it will be hilarious.
Old Norm is pro-Trump, and still obviously pretty clearheaded (unlike his idiot son) at 89. I especially enjoyed this:
[Podhoretz] doesn’t quite understand why New Yorkers don’t recognize Trump as so clearly one of their own.
“If you’ve known New York real estate people like I have,” he said, “he’s a paradigmatic example. I never met Trump, but I know a lot of people in that business. So I know what it’s like to succeed as a New York real estate-nik.”
I told him that I’d never heard that phrase before—real estate-nik. “Oh yeah, it’s very common actually,” said Podhoretz. “You know people say jokingly Trump is Jewish. He’s not literally, but if you’re a real estate guy in New York, you’re sort of automatically Jewish.”
Been there done that. In Florida, it's the black ice that kills you. Sprained 2 wrists getting out of the car to move the trash can out of the driveway.
Go find a new dentist! Total scam. We were hit with it a couple years ago when our local one brought in a new tech who was all dialed in to play the game. It is their new money hustle.
When you find a dentist that says BS after seeing your gums, you know you found a good one.
They may want to showcase a 2020 wannabe and the fight for who gets to be it will be hilarious.
Agreed. Looking forward to it. AOC will have a valid grievance, owing to her Twitter power, regardless of the fact that she's too young to run in 2020.
But who will she endorse? Everyone's on the edge of their seat.
I’ll chime in on Norma Desmond: she is a piece of absolute lying, subhuman trash who should hang from a lamppost and then spend eternity in one of the lower circles of Hell.
JamesD:
Works for me.
All that intense venom and vile hatred shows all over her noticed face.
She shafted a 3 term rep from New York for opposing her.
She is truly the Red Queen- Off with their heads.
More “save my butt” leaks, this appears to be Ohr:
At the time, Ohr was the associate attorney general. Yet his warnings about political bias were pointedly omitted weeks later from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrant that the FBI obtained from a federal court

I discovered, a year later, that my car accident not only broke my C2 in two places but also cracked several (current count is 5) molars below the gum line. So far I've had to have 4 of them removed and will be getting implant$ as I can afford them.

Sundance's prediction from last year on the identity of the Deep State spy within the Trump campaign: the other Mike Rogers.

Dear Piglosi.
How about FUCK YOU?
Posted by: GUS | January 16, 2019 at 06:08 PM
He better NOT do it in Spanish.
That'd be terrible.
...and speak to the caravan? Are you joking?
Those people aren't citizens.
The Dems can send Sen. Kaine down to El Salvador or Honduras to do their rebuttal. That's who the Dems represent anyway.
Posted by: Account Deleted | January 16, 2019 at 06:10 PM
Janet,

Posted by: D | January 16, 2019 at 06:14 PM
I agree with Janet.
I REALLY like the big arena idea.
Posted by: MissMarple2 | January 16, 2019 at 06:17 PM

Hopelessly behind, but wanted to mention this:
https://www.tabletmag.com/jewish-arts-and-culture/278820/norman-podhoretz-making-it-89
Old Norm is pro-Trump, and still obviously pretty clearheaded (unlike his idiot son) at 89.

Jack,
I agree. I try to imagine them on a debate stage with him, and all I can think of is that they would be doomed.

CH,
Been there done that. In Florida, it's the black ice that kills you. Sprained 2 wrists getting out of the car to move the trash can out of the driveway.
No dogs involved.

Robin,
Go find a new dentist! Total scam. We were hit with it a couple years ago when our local one brought in a new tech who was all dialed in to play the game. It is their new money hustle.
When you find a dentist that says BS after seeing your gums, you know you found a good one.

Agreed. Looking forward to it. AOC will have a valid grievance, owing to her Twitter power, regardless of the fact that she's too young to run in 2020.
But who will she endorse? Everyone's on the edge of their seat.

I feel your pain.
Our driveway is steep and last night I fell on my can taking the trash bins down.
After you get put back together, go home and enjoy a few cold ones.

I’ll chime in on Norma Desmond: she is a piece of absolute lying, subhuman trash who should hang from a lamppost and then spend eternity in one of the lower circles of Hell.
Does that about cover it?

More “save my butt” leaks, this appears to be Ohr:
At the time, Ohr was the associate attorney general. Yet his warnings about political bias were pointedly omitted weeks later from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrant that the FBI obtained from a federal court

The message that the WH is none too pleased with King doesn’t resonate here because the accepted line of thought is that Repubs are railroading King.
Was the link to the WH response provided? If so, I missed it.
