I feel for Da Bears. But then Philly gets New Orleans, so there's that.
You can blame Sykes & Picot for the mess in the Middle East. The Saudis got Saudi Arabia and then they had to do something with the Hashemites, who were the keepers of the holy places. So they got Transjordan and Iraq. The French created Syria from the existing portion of the Ottoman Empire but Lebanon was a sort of what my MD calls a tag, just hanging there, as I recall.
Of course the Brits also issued the Balfour declaration, which made everything dunkelklar.
All in all it was a dogs breakfast. What I found interesting in referring back to Wikipedia was that a major part of Kurdistan, including Mosul, was to have been a part of the French Syrian Protectorate.
I'm sure it will all get sorted out now that the Russians, Iranians, Turks, Saudis, Egyptians, French, and Americans are involved, not to neglect the UAE.
So a BLACK CRIMINAL shot a 7 YEAR OLD.......Black child to death. For no reason.
Why would the FULL COMMIE MFM give a SHIT???
Another one bites the dust. Another one bites the dust. And another one's gone and another ones gone, another one bites the dust..................
We who DO CARE, need to COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND, THAT, the FULL COMMIE would be JOYOUS tonight, if an AR-15 and a WHITE SOUTHERN BOY, had committed this MURDER.
Unfortunately, this KILLING was just another run of the mill, everyday KILLLLING, by a young BLACK MALE, who is/was the VICTIM of YOU.

dea, local law enforcement, nsa ... parallel construction. this is unsurprising and has been going on for almost 2 decades.
>>>As far as the drug cartels, catching them and their money-laundering operations is more complicated ... <<<
not really, it is a matter of will and priorities. MS-13 is an adjunct of the el salvadorian government (state sponsored). Why isn't El Salvador sanctioned as a terror sponsoring government and MS 13 a state sponsored terrorist organization?
>>>there was that EO which said that certain crimes (drug cartels being one) would have their assets confiscated by the US government<<<
this is an extension of existing us law, more of a signing statement.

Calling all psychologists: When things are falling apart, isn’t it a common defense mechanism or avoidance strategy to hope things will get better if you just go to a new place?
just caught up to this. Remind me again please where Steve Hayes, Kristol's Co-Editor at his now dead mag ran off to? Was it Spain or Portugal?
Bill Kristol: some of us call it a geographic....go somewhere no one knows your name. and if they do just be sure to feature your good sides. ya. that's the ticket.
my younger brother's in the market for a new gig. he's a professional chef. is back in Vegas wanting a gig with Mandalay Bay due to MGM's worldwide fine restaurant network.
On Friday he prepared 12 French entrees for 6 of the Mandalay's executive chef selection team. All of his prep, production, and presentation techniques were videotaped 12 ways from sunday.
it took him 2 days to prepare himself having been given the entree specs up ahead of time. during the critique the team called up the videotapes and were very specific re their feedback.
he got an A. is likely to be hired. his food is exquisite. he wasn't happy where he was out in Colorado. made the change.
good luck to you, rich, in whatever it is you find to do.
rich, thanks for that 9:11 Rubinstein. Think about it, a Jew from Poland performing in the Soviet Union to that kind of acclaim. Maybe he shouldn't have, but still...
He was 77, I saw him in recital when he was 89. Still amazing.
Pollini often is wonderful too -- he has incredible technique. When his interpretation fits, he is great. Sometimes he misses the mark, at least to my ear. He's still worthwhile listening to.
Squaredance loves Richter, and for good reason. Don't miss him!
A young Arab boy asks his father “What is that strange hat you are wearing?”
The father said: "Why, my son, it is a 'chechia.' In the desert, it protects our heads from the intense heat of the sun.”
"And what is the long flowing robe you are wearing?” asked the boy.
“Oh, my son!” exclaimed the father “It is very simple. This is a 'djbellah.' As I have told you, in the desert it
is not only very hot, but the sand is always blowing. My djbellah protects the entire body,”
The son then asked: "But Father, what about those ugly shoes you have on your feet?”
"These are 'babouches' my son,” the father replied. You must understand that although the desert sands are
very beautiful, they are also extremely hot. These babouches' keep us from burning our feet.”
"So tell me then," added the boy.
"Yes, my son…”
"Why are you living in Minnesota and still wearing all this shit?
Sadly I never saw Rubinstein perform. I did know the producer who did most of his major recordings, the late great Max Wilcox, but that's not the same.

Mention of Steve Hayes reminds me that for about a year before the Primary and the Presidential Election, Bret Baire used to have that Panel every Friday where they'd play something like Political Poker, and each panelist would put a quarter or a dollar or a dime on whichever candidate they thought was going to win. I'd love to see somebody put together a speedy time-lapse sequence of a years worth of those predictions, compressed into 60 seconds, just as refresher to remind ourselves how often and how wrong our highly paid prognosticators got it.
never have provoked a comment from our student of short film on that one ... what would union scale be for working underwater in an obstructed environment ... just sayin'
Clarice, this would bring out in the open the tacit cooperation between the two sides already.
As I have stated, the state of forces in NE Syria is very complex. Not sure how many boots on the ground the Iranians have as they usually have used Hezbollah as their muscle. They have lost a number of officers, though.
Checking Turkish aggression against the Kurds is one goal. Containing Russia and Iran is the other. Syria itself will remain a basket case for the next 30 years if they rely on Russia and Iran. Iran and Russia want Latakia and don't care about the rest of the country except in how it affects they ability to operate.
Many of the Syrian refugees will not be gong back and the wounds of a civil war are toxic, especially in an environment such as the Ummah, where everything is an insult or injustice. Maybe they have infiltrated our college campuses more than we realize.
So Pompeo is building consensus and with Jared's work, we may pull something off.
Domestically it will drive the Left out of their minds. What can they say? A coalition that seeks peace but is prepared for war to stop the hegemons. That really is pissing in their porridge in a polite and cordial way. It destroys the whole Russia collusion argument, that's for sure. And Nancy & Chuck would be seriously butthurt. Sounds like a plan to me.
Pull the US out, get our real allies to take up the slack, defuse the tensions in the Middle East for the past 70 years, embarrass the shit out of Europe, force the Palestinians to reconsider their intransigence. Sounds like a huge upside.
At halftime last week the Rams were way ahead, so the Bears had absolutely nothing to play for. They could have rested their starters, let the Vikings win, and play the Vikings again this week. Instead they decided that they were going to play their starters the entire game. They won, let the Eagles (the better team) into the playoffs, and lost to those Eagles.
only certain Raiders fans are mired in hysteria over the team's season and the team's move.
the recent signing of Mike Mayock as a sympatico for Jon Gruden is an enormous development in the latest rebuild.
the "no home in Oakland" for 2019 is hype fueled by the toothless Mayor of Oakland who can't afford a lost lease payment from the Raiders.
Raiders are on the verge of whirlwind cash flows in Vegas. talks are underway to route NFL games through Vegas for 8 regular season games while Raiders are on the road. Raiders get a piece of the action.
Raiders are in the cat-bird seat for this year's draft with 3 first round picks at #4, 22, and 24.
Raiders are at $80 million in cap space and rising.
Only 7 of the previous GM's draft picks were on the 2018 roster. the exodus of 1 and done free agents make this upcoming roster all-Gruden. his players will fit his system.
i believe the Raiders will trade Derek Carr this offseason. He and Gruden are not sympatico. Carr will bring draft picks and open up boocoo salary cap space.
the Raiders defensive line is young, hungry and experienced. 3 rookies played the entire season. there are many gaps to fill in the linebacking corps and the secondary, but we have at least one anchoring returning vet at each level LB, CB, S.
we'll draft 1st round elites at RB, TE, and WR. our backup quarterback won a BCS title for Alabama in 2013. he'll step in at age 27 for Carr. the Offensive line is big physical and very young at Offensive tackle, all pro at center and both guards. physical too. look for Gruden to draft at least one blue chip lineman rookie.
things are looking up from the bottom of the heap. Gruden had the guts to pull the plug on Crabtree, Cooper, and Mack. they didn't fit Gruden's system and he had the courage to spare the franchise more pain of trying to force pieces together.
i've been a Raiders fan since 1960. we weren't winning many games til Mr. Davis took over. and then we were the turnaround story of the year. same thing happened under Del Rio before he lost control of his locker room. watch for the Raiders to win 9 or more games in 2019. the AFC West will be good for a long time with the Raiders in the mix.
...in an interview with Miami broadcaster EVTV on Sunday, Mr Zerpa called the Supreme Court "an appendage of the executive branch", saying the president would tell justices how to rule on certain cases.
He said he had not publicly criticised the 2018 election result to ensure he and his family could safely flee to the US.
Fun story related to the song "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" by the Righteous Brothers. https://www.thenewneo.com/2019/01/05/the-righteous-brothers-reaction-video/
"... according to BMI, “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin'” became the most-played song on American radio and television of the 20th century, with more than eight million airplays by the end of 1999."
I was a fanatical Raiders fan from about 1970 on. The move to LA didn't help but the mismanagement after that was worse.
Even if they started winning Super Bowls again it wouldn't be like the Davis/Madden/Flores days so I think I'll stay retired from my sports interest.
Except for curling.
And ice dancing.
And synchronized swimming. Those nose clips really do it for me.
So,narc or jim or anyone else, how exactly did sunni Qatar end up aligning itself with shia Iran and the MB which would surely love to depose the Qatari royals if given the opportunity.
Strong horse worship or what? Their salafi/wahabbi pals next door seem the more likely ally, yet they're at each others throats.
The sauds are moving from wahhabism, and Qatar taking up the seat of the tomah, Hamas Taliban boko haram, now their adversary across the gulf seems an odd ally
Yes they are crazy down there:

I'm a Luddite on all that stuff. My husband finds it for me.

Kev. When was the last BUDGET proposed, voted on, passed and signed into LAW by the PRESIDENT????
Let me give you a FUCKING HINT, that no MFM COCK SUCKER will acknowledge.
SINCE OBAMA'S CORRUPT STIMULUS, $875 BILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLION DOLLARS, not including DEBT SERVICE. There has been NO BUDGET PASSED.........PERIOD.... PERIOD......PERIOD...........
So we are LEFT WITH the SAME LEVEL OF SPENDING, that included the CORRUPT STIMULUS over and over and over and over and over and over again. A SLUSH FUND.
W BUSH, never had a budget that reached 3 trilllllllion. The CURRENT LEVEL of SPENDING is 4 TRILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLION. Every year.
Where does that extra TRILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLION DOLLARS go to.
I'll leave that to YOUR IMAGINATION. Sorry, but I'M NOT STUPID, I "get it".
Posted by: GUS | January 06, 2019 at 08:56 PM
Although it's a COMPLETE LIE and MFM LIBTARD FULL COMMIE PROPAGANDA, that the GOVERNMENT, is SHUT DOWN.........
Why would ANY PORTION of the GOVERNMENT CONTINUE TO BE IN PERIL of being SHUT DOWN??????
Why has there been no BUDGET funding mechanism in place for 8 or more years????
Why is it continually necessary to have SHORT TERM funding passed every few months?????
This CIVICS lesson, is not difficult, UNLESS, you are a LIBTARD FUKWIT.

my younger brother's in the market for a new gig. he's a professional chef. is back in Vegas wanting a gig with Mandalay Bay due to MGM's worldwide fine restaurant network.

I'm pleased that you enjoy Gilels and Rubinstein!

Mention of Steve Hayes reminds me that for about a year before the Primary and the Presidential Election, Bret Baire used to have that Panel every Friday where they'd play something like Political Poker, and each panelist would put a quarter or a dollar or a dime on whichever candidate they thought was going to win. I'd love to see somebody put together a speedy time-lapse sequence of a years worth of those predictions, compressed into 60 seconds, just as refresher to remind ourselves how often and how wrong our highly paid prognosticators got it.

It's a shame Mattis left beforehand.

Rocket surgery in Shitcargo:
At halftime last week the Rams were way ahead, so the Bears had absolutely nothing to play for. They could have rested their starters, let the Vikings win, and play the Vikings again this week. Instead they decided that they were going to play their starters the entire game. They won, let the Eagles (the better team) into the playoffs, and lost to those Eagles.

i love being a Raiders fan.
only certain Raiders fans are mired in hysteria over the team's season and the team's move.
the recent signing of Mike Mayock as a sympatico for Jon Gruden is an enormous development in the latest rebuild.
the "no home in Oakland" for 2019 is hype fueled by the toothless Mayor of Oakland who can't afford a lost lease payment from the Raiders.
Posted by: Account Deleted | January 06, 2019 at 10:40 PM
Wow, that wasnt even close to truth. Which is rare because they usually come within a parsecs
So the Rams had a cunning cunning plan.

Maybe this is who Trump should choose to replace Justice Ginsberg, especially since RBG has said she is such a fan of International Law: Venezuela Supreme Court judge Christian Zerpa flees to US
...in an interview with Miami broadcaster EVTV on Sunday, Mr Zerpa called the Supreme Court "an appendage of the executive branch", saying the president would tell justices how to rule on certain cases.
He said he had not publicly criticised the 2018 election result to ensure he and his family could safely flee to the US.
