You don't have to pig out on red meat or bacon if that bothers you--lots of other choices on keto.
Fish, chicken, eggs, cheese--you name it. I had smoked whitefish and cukes and tomatoes and homemade keto buns(almond flour) and butter for breakfast. Sometimes I make birch bender's wonderful paleo waffles with Lakanto maple flavored syrup and butter.Or just a lovely omelet with stuff inside.

TK,
Harris is trying to push the "Russia hacked the election" hoax. Trust me, either they have a plan to cheat with paper ballots (I can think of at least two wayas) or this is a fake suggestion that she knows her pals in Congress would stymie, while she looks oh-so-pure.

Jim-that's why they must follow the desired template or be fired. I don't think anyone disputes that a Lauren Resnick, Linda Darling-Hammond, Boulding, or Michael Cole are smart.
As were Leontiev and Luria. Cole was the exchange student of the first and translated the biography of the other. It is their templte being executed and globally.
The funniest take I ever read was ed profs who refused to push the constructivist math on their ed students so the PI told the Ed Dean to get some sociology profs to push it. In Atlanta (later to gain infamy for its cheating scandal) a nobody cultural anthropology prof at Ga State suddenly got to travel the globe in 5 start luxury after agreeing to be the reference for APS teachers who didn't want to change what they were doing).
It's also not a matter of concluding that the desire is to rewire the brain. I just quote people's own admissions about the intentions of their required practices.

And why the hell bring black teenagers into it? There weren't any black teenagers involved (The behavior of the black "adults" is another issue, I suppose). Is there some recent instance of the entire national media, powerful public figures, and Hollywood condemning and vilifying black teenagers for being insufficiently polite to a strange old man behaving strangely?

Dragging over from the other thread...
I think my data is pretty high-quality. I have a scale on my person most of the time, and 90-95% of the food that I put in my mouth is weighed or otherwise measured to fairly high-precision. The small amount where I'm estimating (usually from eating homemade food that other people cook) I'm reasonably confident that I'm not so far off. I record everything*.All of my data is at MyFitnessPal (which has HUGE privacy implications I know...) So there IS high-quality data out there, if we can figure out how to pull it out of the mass of crappy data, and how to analyze it. What I see when I look at my data is that there's a lot more carbohydrates than you think in "high-fat" food, and a lot more fat than you think in "high-carbohydrate" food, and it's really hard to get enough protein. I have a "recall of what I ate" in my head, but if I actually look at the numbers it doesn't match. For a whole lot of reasons... When you think of the sandwich you ate you remember the meat and the cheese, but not the bread. A few fries on the plate vs an entire dish of fries. The teaspoon of sugar in your coffee which you stirred in vs the half cup of sugar in the soda that you drank as it came. I've seen diabetics get all riled up over six corn kernels in a salad, and not pay attention to the tomatoes or carrots...
I am a person who knows, most days, EXACTLY what I eat, down to a tenth of a gram. Compared to my "recall of what I ate"? Let's just say I KNOW that "what I recall" is a load of nonsense.
*I suspect that a good part of the 130lb weight loss is that having to measure and record everything is a pain in the neck because it turns every meal into chemistry lab. In other words there's all the calories that I don't eat because eating is now annoying.

From Ext's 12:54 above on Kirsten Powers lamely pseudo-apologizing for smearing the hell out of the Covington kids:
CNN contributor and USA Today columnist Kirsten Powers invoked her Catholic faith in an apologetic Twitter thread Monday in which she said her tweets directed toward Covington Catholic High School boys — whom she accused of "disrespecting an Indigenous elder" on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial last month when in fact he approached and confronted them — were "lacking in grace."
When did she become a Catholic? I thought she was an Evangelical Christian, converted after meeting her post Anthony Weiner squeeze and attending his church in NY City.
Powers spent most of her early life as an atheist but love changes her into an evangelical Christian. After having dated a religious Christian man, she started converting to Christianity as she was introduced to the Redeemer Presbyterian Church in New York City.
Naturally she started out as an Episcopalian before becoming an Atheist, which makes sense, but it's tougher keeping up with her Church life than it is keeping up with her love life.

(1) Isn't it weird that in America our flag and our culture offend so
many people, but our benefits don't?
(2) How can the federal government ask U.S. citizens to pay back
student loans, when illegal aliens are receiving a free education?
(3) Only in America are legal citizens labeled "racists" and "Nazis,"
but illegal aliens are called "Dreamers."
(4) Liberals say, "If confiscating all guns saves just one life, it's
worth it." Well then, if deporting all illegals saves just one life,
wouldn't that be worth it?
(5) I can't quite figure out how you can proudly wave the flag of
another country but consider it punishment to be sent back there..
(6) The Constitution: It doesn't need to be rewritten; it needs to be reread.
( 7) William F. Buckley said: "Liberals claim to want to give a
hearing to other points of view and are then shocked and offended when
they discover there are other points of view."
(8) Joseph Sobran said: "'Need' now means wanting someone else's money.
'Greed' means wanting to keep your own. 'Compassion' is when a
politician arranges the transfer."
(9) Florida has had 119 hurricanes since 1850, but some people still
insist the last one was due to climate change.

I had a lot of associates at Big Engineer-Constructor who worked on our Caracas Metro project. [Little known fact, Caracas has a subway system, that is how wealthy a country it was or could be again]. They bragged about the cleanliness, cosmopolitian nature of the city, cultural abundance, etc.
Then one time, the son of one of our executive VP's hit a "grifter" with his car in one of the lesser barrios. Our Venezuela representative told us to get him out of country immediately, which they did. Common problem was to get a Yanqui to hit you with his car and demand a million dollars but settle for $5K. Problem there is waiting in jail for the conclusion of negotiations.
In another situation, they demanded $50K for a kidnapping of one of our pipeline project crews. They put the money in a satchel, gave it one of our spanish speaking engineers who flew down via Panama City, where he when to a bar got drunk and lost the satchel:)

Here's an interesting thing that popped up. I follow the Q posts on Twitter (as does ChiTown) but I don't post them here because I have never been certain of their veracity, plus they are often in code which has to be decoded by the Anons, and it's just too confusing if you don't regularly follow.
Well, two days ago Q said that Dan Coats would be leaving. This caught my eye because he is a former Indiana senator. He is currently DNI.
Coming home on the radio I heard CNN quoted as saying there were lots of rumors Coats was leaving. The reason is that he tries to tell Trump what to do.
Now, these rumors could be swirling around Washington OR CNN follows Q and decided to post it as fact with their own spin.
I found it significant enough to post the information here. We will see what happens.

But in the meantime--eating meat with fats that satiate hunger (bacon!) is better than stuffing our faces full of carbs which kill.

There is more gossip in DC than you find at Buckingham palace or versailles.

The Bezos Daily Worker gave The Crafty Beaver a quadruple Pinocchio.

Miss M, that Obama Foundation* obelisk is large, tacky, and hideous like everything else associated with Obama.
* it’s not a Presidential Library, the Obama’s won’t let the National Archives anywhere near it.

Narciso79,
I sometimes think gossip is all that at least half of them in DC do.
The press people are the worst. Any tidbit they hear from a waitress or clerk gets magnified and exaggerated. I think half the time they make stuff up.

It's like the shrine of the leader in sleeper,
You certainly get that notion in hillarys emails they treated politico tidbits as if they were something of value, instead of proper ridicule

Sundance makes the same observation about the WH being bugged and renovations starting 2 days after Rosenstein added extra scope to the Mueller SC.
Lot of other info as well.

Selling assets to pay down debt is usually a bad idea, unless the buyer pays more than they’re worth.

henry,
Notice how they commissioned hideous portraits for the White House. If I were the curator of the White House, those would get lost in a fire.
It's the same way Michelle treated fashion. Michhele's Mirror web site was started because of her hideous clothing. Karl Lagerfeld never dressed her, that's for sure.
It's like how they treated running the government and the White House. Destructive and aiming to destroy traditional values.
Horrible people, and it's a horrible design for a building.

Lurker Susie, That was great!
Cathy, I could never ever do what you did. My biggest problem under Keto is that I don't eat enough. 50 lbs took me 8 months. I bet I could have done it in 6 if I ate more. But I'm very happy with this lifestyle. I'm never hungry, and I love the food. And every once in a while I cheat. Maybe once or twice a month. But it's perfect for me. Never been happier with my meals, and never wish I could have X or Z. I'm sure I'll be on it for life, and I'm pretty sure Keto will slow itself down (like it did last month) as I'm pretty close to what my goal should be. I never thought I would lose this much, so I guess I'm close to my goal!

SS has the technology to discover listening devices, and run checks every day in the WH. How do I know?
One of my good friends here on the First Coast is the ex-No. 3 guy and head of the uniformed divsion of SS.
