There was speculation that Muellers interview for the FBI job wasn't an interview at all but a chance for Mueller to discuss the up-coming SC. CNN says otherwise.

Washington (CNN)President Donald Trump interviewed Robert Mueller as a potential replacement for fired FBI Director James Comey the day before the former FBI director was named special counsel, a White House official said Tuesday. The official, who would not detail what the two discussed during the interview, said it took place on May 16.

If Mueller knew he was going to be named special counsel, it is unlikely he divulged that information to Trump. CNN has reported at the time that the White House was given only a brief heads up that Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein was naming Mueller to oversee Russian interference in the 2016 election and potential collusion from Trump's campaign associates.

https://edition.cnn.com/2017/06/13/politics/trump-robert-mueller-fbi-director-interview/index.html

So if Mueller wasn't interviewing for the FBI job and he wasn't there to discuss the SC, why was he there? And now we learn Mueller left his phone at the interview which had to be retrieved later. Back to the original NYT article...

Mr. Rosenstein then raised the idea of wearing a recording device, or “wire,” as he put it, to secretly tape the president when he visited the White House. One participant asked whether Mr. Rosenstein was serious, and he replied animatedly that he was.

If not him, then Mr. McCabe or other F.B.I. officials interviewing with Mr. Trump for the job could perhaps wear a wire or otherwise record the president, Mr. Rosenstein offered. White House officials never checked his phone when he arrived for meetings there, Mr. Rosenstein added, implying it would be easy to secretly record Mr. Trump.

Trump quizzes General Keane on the latest in world Geo-Politics. My transcripts:

Lou: ...Lets start with North Korea. A lot of expectations being paraded, but the Administration...has been steady and certain about the challenges they face.

Gen Keane: Yeah definitely. What has happened to the Administration is that initially they realized that trying to achieve their objectives in just 2 years is likely unrealistic, given that it took 15 years for North Korea to acquire nuclear weapons and even longer to acquire Ballistic Missiles, so they've adjusted that, but the Objective hasn't changed in terms of total De-Nuclearization but how we are going to get there has, so they've been willing now to go at a slower pace, step by step in the process, not necessarily be driven by time in trying to get some place...We have a President going out there and negotiating with 2 repressive regimes, led by a thug and a killer, and trying to disarm his Nuclear Weapons and Ballistic Missiles, and do that in an earnest fashion, and he's got people criticizing him even before he leaves the United States in terms of what he should accomplish and what the dangers are. That's not something this country has done in the past and it's really unfortunate. I do think, despite the perceived low expectations of this, first of all the personal relationship between these 2 leaders has truly increased to benefit, and thats a good thing. Secondly I believe there's some potential here to make progress, One is on the Peace treaty itself, to end the War and to end the Armistice, and that would involve ourselves and China, and North Korean and South Korea. And If that happened, not immediately, but it could also lead to something that is very consequential, and that is the pulling away of those armies that are facing each other on the DMZ, and eventually reducing the size of those Armies. That is very significant.

Lou: China?

Gen Keane: Agaon, tis is historic itself...He's the first President thats ever taken on the huge economic predator that China truly is, not only in stealing intellectual property but the huge Trade Imbalance that Presidents in our country have tolerated for years. Finally, it looks like we're coming to an agreement here. I think it's terribly significant in whats taking place, and I hope it helps us to reset the table in our relationship with China. China clearly knows now, without any doubt whatsoever, that they are dealing with a different President than they have in the past. And we have major other Issues with China Lou. You were talking about the Navy going thru the Taiwan Straits. China's intimidation and coercion of all of our allies in the (region), undermining their Civil Societies, they have a very comprehensive campaign ongoing there, and we need to fashion a comprehensive strategy to push back on all of that, and this is a step in that direction.

She’s going to run....

EX-CLINTON POLLSTER: Hillary will run if Biden doesn't - or field is 'too far left' - The American MirrorThe American Mirror

After defending Clinton’s credentials as “one of the most experienced politicians around,” Penn went on to say of the reported recent confabs between Hillary and declared candidates, “Those meetings are going to be somewhat awkward because she hasn’t declared that she’s not definitely running, and she, in fact, at the same time is looking over the field and I think will make a decision later in the year whether or not to run herself.

Penn said the chances of Hillary running depends on how the field shapes up.

“If the party looks too far to the left and there’s no front runner, she’ll get in,” he said.

“I think if Joe Biden gets in, that probably means she won’t run if he gets in. If he doesn’t get in, I think the field will be open for her,” Penn said.

Lou:...Venezuela?

Gen Keane: I think we have a way to go. Pretty despicable this week to see his goons, Madura's goons out there setting trucks on fire that are trying to bring humanitarian aide to a population that is in a desperate situation...I think where we are is it is a Tactical victory for Madura in stopping it, but a huge Strategic loss in the court of world opinion, in that behavior. I think it will strengthen the resolve of the people in Venezuela and certainly of the International Community itself, to not give up on the fact that Madura's got to go...It's not just a push back on Venezuela. This is really a push against Cuba, since they are sort of the handlers and mentors of Madura, and Chavez before him, and it's also a pushback on Nicaragua. This is a step we are taking that we needed to take years ago. We are not going to see the end of it with Madura going. We are going to continue to see strong leadership pushing back on these regimes. And listen, Russia, China, Iran, it is bluster coming out of them They are not going to do a thing in South America to tangibly assist Madura. Their economic investments is the only thing they care about.

Am watching a halftime chat on ESPN on the South Carolina, UNC Cental Ball Game and the 2 talking heads, Cory Alexander and Doug Sherman are discussing Duke's star Zion Williamson's shoe blowout.

Alexander: I'm a Nike guy so I've got to say that first, but he should not be wearing that shoe. That shoe, a GT 13(sp) was not made for a guy of the size of Zion Williamson. LeBron James, who is very similar in size, has a shoe specifically made for a guy the size of Zion. My analogy is this---you have sports cars and you have SUV's. We saw what happened when you put a sports car tire on an SUV. Now granted, Lamborghini makes SUV's, Zion is a great SUV, but he should not be wearing those shoes, they are not built for him. That is part of the reason why the shoe exploded and I'm sure when he gets back on the court he will not be wearing a shoe that doesn't support the power and the torque that he puts on it.

Sherman:...All right, you've diagnosed what was wrong. Who's fault was it?

Alexander:..I will honestly say if it's anyone's fault, it's probably the fault of Zion and the equipment Staff at Duke, because it is a shoe that he wanted to wear, because I am very certain that he had been told, "Hey, this shoe's not made for you, but it looks good." And that's often why teenagers, which he is, often do the things they do because they like the look of it. I'm sure again he will be recommended a different pair of shoes to wear the next time he plays B-Ball.

Nike breathes a huge sigh of relief after that segment and slips Cory Alexander another few grand under the table.
