Trump’s State of the Union Address Unlikely to Bring Harmony
Real breakthrough stuff.
Comments
Harmony? I’d settle for the old Memorex commercial where the glass shatters, except Pelosi’s face instead of a glass. Not harmony, one dimple pure note.
I miss the old days when Joe from South Carolina shouted out “Liar” to Obama when he tried to con the American people.
Remember how Pelosi whipped her head around?
Your first sentence of your second paragraph contradicts this from your first paragraph:
AFAIK until Nunes made the point last week no one had ever hinted that the Steele dossier was the subject of the redacted parts of the SC appointment letter.
Ext was looking for Clarification that Nunes thinks the dossier is being investigated by Mueller and Weissmann.
You provided a quote from Nunes where he says no such thing. Your first sentence of your second paragraph and your 6:37 confirm that you agree that Nunes said no such thing.
I am not sure what steps you took to then claim that Nunes revealed last week that the dossier is being investigated.
I'm feeling a pretty far from harmony anymore. Would be happier to just get it on once and for all, or even better to split up. It happens. No reason not to figure out the most peaceful and mutually beneficial way to do it. That's the right way to handle a divorce.
The part that is interesting to me is how many people LIKE the hat & whisper MAGA & 'like your hat' etc.
That's been my experience in Northern Virginia with my 'Deplorabes' t-shirts. Lots of thumbs up & whispered MAGAs & 'me too!'.
The media paints a 'EVERYONE hates Trump' picture, but it isn't true.
He wouldn't have been elected President if that were so.
They project their OWN hatred.
Of course there are some haters...but it isn't like the media portray it.
Janet:
Lara Trump on Lou Dobbs just made the same point you did.
Said they were wrong about how many people supported Donald Trump for President.
I know the Dems have heavily targeted Wisconsin and Pennsylvania for their party in 2020.
They desperately want those states back and both have Dem governors.
They won’t get Ohio or Florida.
They want to keep Virginia hence the kerfuffle over Northam and Lt Governor.
Trying to game out what is the better play for them.
Michigan also has s Dem Governor.
Graham runs the influential Senate judiciary committee, and his hiring of Amy Nice spotlights his long-standing efforts to provide additional labor to his South Carolina business donors, said pro-American advocates.
“She worked in the Obama Department of Homeland Security, so I think she will fit with Lindsey Graham’s viewpoint on immigration quite well,” said Rosemary Jenks, policy director at NumbersUSA.
...
His new hire, Amy Nice, was the executive director at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce when it helped Graham push for the 2013 amnesty. She later joined Obama’s Department of Homeland Security, where she worked as a lawyer to help employers gain more imported workers.
She was forced out of DHS in January 2017 as Trump’s inauguration speech promised a policy of “Hire American.”
You provided a quote from Nunes where he says no such thing.
I suppose you would have a point as long as you conveniently ignore the fact that Nunes guessed that the subject of the redacted parts of the SC letter was the Steele dossier. If Nunes is correct as I see it there are two options to choose from. You can go with my option that Mueller is investigating everyone involved with the creation of the dossier. You can go with the Sundance option that Rosenstein treated the contents of the Steele dossier as true and that he tasked Mueller with conducting a counterintelligence investigation with Trump as the target. The Sundance option IMO requires Trump supporters to admit it was idiotic of Trump to not fire Rosenstein the second he found out Rosenstein backstabbed him and was actively trying to destroy his presidency.
I think you asked me about Mitch Daniels and I said he had kept his mouth shut. Well, I missed this gem because I do not pay to read the Washington Post. It comes from a local TV station's article on the SOTU:
But in a recent Washington Post op-ed, former Indiana governor and Purdue University president Mitch Daniels called the State of the Union "tasteless" arguing it must go.
"In fact, I'm sorry to say, I think it's now counterproductive," Daniels said in an interview. "It's more of a spectacle more likely to foster cynicism rather than citizenship."
My interpretation of this is that his Never Trump pals are worried that Trump will be a big hit.
Fox just showed Elizabeth Warren's Texas bar certification or some sort of document. Ethnicity: American Indian. OOPS!
She told the Cherokees she never used (fake) "American Indian" ethnicity to promote her career.
Miss M, since Odumbo chewed out the Supremes in his, the SOTU has been gutter slime. If not before that, I don’t remember watching them, but Slick must have oozed slime at least 7 out of 8.
Welp we had 6 inches of snow.
Then it started again and we got to almost 10".
Power went off again. Went out to pick up a prescription for this worthless cough I've been fighting. Got about 50' as there were two very large black oaks laying across the only road out. Went back in the driveway and walked out to see how things were and realized I had just stepped over a power line laying in the snow.
I think it was on the dead side of the tree but it was still pretty stimulating to realize I almost stepped on it.
I suppose you would have a point as long as you conveniently ignore the fact that Nunes guessed that the subject of the redacted parts of the SC letter was the Steele dossier.
I have a point that Nunes didn't say that the dossier was being investigated by Mueller and Weissmann. Do you have a point that says otherwise?
At lunch with TV anchors, Trump dismissed former Biden as “dumb,” called Schumer a “nasty son of a bitch” and mocked Northam for “choking like a dog.” @grynbaum
I won't yet go so far as to say Kamala Harris will never be president but her pit-viper-in-a-China-shop personality doesn't play pretty much anywhere the men don't wear man buns and the women don't wear combat boots.
the Sundance option that Rosenstein treated the contents of the Steele dossier as true and that he tasked Mueller with conducting a counterintelligence investigation with Trump as the target
From your Nunes transcript:
But I believe it's very possible that they used uncorroborated information that came from the Clinton campaign. And that could be in there as part of what they told the special counsel to do, which would be a major, major problem.
Feel free to go ahead and award yourself a point since Nunes did not explicitly say the words “the dossier is being investigated by Mueller and Weissman”. I will stick to my original point that if Nunes is correct that the subject of the redacted parts is the Steele dossier, then a logical inference can be made that Mueller is investigating the Steele dossier. It’s just a question of what angle is he approaching: coverup or the truth.
If anyone is interested in the tolerant, woman supporting world of progdom just read the comments.

SBW,
Agreed. One thing the Congress isn't seriously doing is talking about impeachment. The President changed the subject to the WALL and border security, and the democrats are so on the wrong side of that issue.
Then this past week they pulled one of the dumbest things that I've ever seen in politics by advocating infanticide as a choice of the mother post delivery of a live child. Between these two issues, they have set the table for 2020 - and that doesn't even take into consideration the gift of Governor Moonwalk.
So we've learned tonight that Elizabeth Warren did claim to be an "American Indian by race" even though she said she didn't, while Virginia has shown us that Democrats only believe women victims of sexual abuse if their abusers are allegedly Republicans.

Because in the later quote from your Nunes transcript(which I provided above) Nunes concludes "...And that[uncorroborated information that came from the Clinton campaign] could be in there as part of what they told the special counsel to do, which would be a major, major problem."
Why would investigating "Clinton dirt" be a major problem?
I meant, but never got around, to praise this wonderful image from the past thread. Worthy of Surber imo
"In Fenway if the Red Sox were leading by three in the ninth but the other team got a man on first, the place would go silent, as if thirty-three thousand turkeys had just been told about Thanksgiving."
Re: the infamous amendment to the Scope memo - we know that one judge, Ellis, has seen the memo and on the basis of whatever Rosenstein added to it agreed to go forward with the Manafort case in contrast with the concerns he clearly expressed earlier. I suspect that another judge, Sullivan, was also given a look at that memo or at least a précis of it - probably in his chambers.
What would compel these judges to react they way that they did? The only thing I can think of is contained in Judge Sullivan's comments at the last attempt to sentence General Flynn. The judge used the word "treason" during his extemporaneous outburst that day, then after a break, returned to the courtroom and walked back his comments.
I suspect that this - namely an accusation of suspected treason - is what is hinted at in the amended Scope memo. Rosenstein gave Muelller the carte blanche that he wanted and needed to expand his investigation beyond the confines of the campaign. He's still probing away via the Southern District of New York in areas loosely connected to 2016. It appears that he's trying to scare up new territory because he's so far afield of his original mandate - even with the Rosenstein amendment. We'll have to see if Barr takes any action to narrow Mueller's territory and bring this investigation to a conclusion.
I am surprised they don't wear pussy hats with those white dresses.
Jerrold Nadler is a fat little guy with a New York accent and a terrible inferiority complex. He is always talking above his weight, which by the way is subtantial. I do hope he decides to take on people 50 to 60 points above his IQ. His ignorance, and partisan equivocation will show in spades.
Harmony? I’d settle for the old Memorex commercial where the glass shatters, except Pelosi’s face instead of a glass. Not harmony, one dimple pure note.

Trump excerpts: Both parties should be able to unite for a great rebuilding of America’s crumbling infrastructure.

Jane, I'll be there the 91h-16th if you feel like a field trip away from the renovations.

Hope Trump sacrifices a few.
