Democrats condemning anti-semitism? It's complicated!

This generational divide has been a slow train wreck coming. My guess? I will say that old-timers like me grew up with the Six Day war, the 1973 war, and the 1972 Munich Olympics. Distinguishing the good guys from the bad guys was pretty easy and Israel also benefited from an underdog status

My kids have grown up with two decades of Intifadas, Jewish settlements, and images of an unassailable Israel beating down hapless Palestinians. Arguments about the two-state solution and the right of return get pushed to one side - the Palestinians look like the sympathetic underdogs to them.

For a bit of flavor, this is from a guest piece in Vox by a Palestinian activist:

For her, this means speaking up for victims of the Saudi war on Yemen and citizens living under the brutal Saudi regime. It also means speaking up for the Palestinians. Just as it is becoming clearer to many Americans that a progressive agenda in the United States includes solidarity with the Palestinian struggle for freedom and equality, Omar’s support for Palestinians is part of her core belief system. As such, she and other new members of Congress are creating the space for others to speak up on this issue without fear.

Omar was elected in 2018, a remarkably deadly year for Palestinians at the hands of the Israeli military. According to a United Nations Human Rights Council Report, the Israeli military killed 138 protesters and injured more than 9,000 others between March and December of that year. They protested to demand an end to 70 years of refugeehood, while also demanding an end to Israel’s cruel and illegal siege of Gaza during weekly protests known as the Great March of Return.

I give that an eye-roll. I suspect Nancy Pelosi does too, but she has to herd these people and good luck to her.

I like to believe that daddy's passing is just him waking up from the dream. In the dichotomous way of spiritual affairs, our spiritual life and our physical life have similarities and differences. Physical sleeping and dreaming has its counterpart in the spiritual realm; this physical life is a spiritual dream. Dying is waking up. I don't know anyone who would desire to sleep forever, but our life dream can be engaging such that we want to live forever.

We dream our physical dreams individually and we live our spiritual dream collectively.

I've come to the point in my prayers to requesting I get a bit more "sleep" if that's okay on the spiritual realm. I'm not quite ready to wake up but I definitely do not want to "sleep" forever.

How typical of Congress info services. They completely missed the impact of subsidiaries of EU corps pushing hard compliance on US vendors using the excuse "EU citizens work there." That compliance has the standard idiocy that shows it is driven by lawyers, not people that understand technology from the wheel onwards. You can tell by requirements that all employees be under video surveillance at all times (showing what is on their screen), with the right to inspect all video at random intervals. Note, any vendor will have more than one client, so any "inspection" automatically creates a cascade of privacy violations and notices to all customers of the vendor, and depending on the application to several states where it is an automatic felony (Iowa is a good example). The compliance costs mentioned in the report are over and above this fundamental insanity.

I will note that EU based lawyers are bigger buttheads than US ones, if that is even possible.

As far as the newspapers and advertisers mentioned, the EU Copyright Law killing fair use is the true death knell.

He too faces a witch hunt into his business practices because politicians have no inkling of how a business operates. Any time a businessman beats them, they start these investigations. We have seen it in Argentina, Brazil Chile, Italy, and elsewhere as the various swamps fight back against the outsider.

As a senior, Manafort can serve a third (16 months) in home confinement due to the Sentencing Reform bill. He already served 9 months. Still another 22 months in prison. Obama Judge next week can make the other sentence concurrent. This is a major flop for Mueller & Thugs Inc.
