As the British Parliament strings out the Brexit drama they will be competing with Avengers: Endgame and the final season of Game of Thrones. So much drama!
In the lemons/lemonade department, it seems as if PM May managed to hold her most recent margin of defeat under 200 votes, so she has made progress since her first proposal was crushed. At a guess this is the second most lopsided loss in their Parliamentary history (bills doomed to fail normally get pulled), but there are more votes ahead and records are made to be broken.

Regarding daddy...
I have reflected and prayed this last week.
What a sudden surprise, and yet, what do we really know about daddy? Even those of you who met him--even more than once, or who frequently communicated with him--how well did you really know him?
Was he
Smart? Very smart.
Personable? Very personable.
Well read? Very well read.
Great memory for people, places, and things?
Very great memory for people, places, and things.
International traveler, spanning the globe from one corner to another.
Originally started in the Navy, switched to the reserves. Soon joined an organization to provide a useful and necessary umbrella over all/ALL of his activities.
I don't think daddy has died, I think he has been necessarily 'disappeared' --could be that Xi Jinping's assets were getting too close, could be some other group some where else. He even alluded to the imminent change in status, telling (was it peter or jimnj) that he wouldn't be seeing him again.
Whatever.
I understand the official story. Just so. Probably better that way, to accept the official version. But my sense is, he'd been an extraordinary asset, and needed to be retired and withdrawn for his protection.
Fair winds, daddy.
BZ.

A resting place along the road

Far greater than we know
For some the journeyās quicker
For some the journeyās slow
And when the journey finally ends
Weāll claim a great reward

I was thinking something similar. Before Germany engages in part ownership of an aircraft carrier it might want to get its' subs and surface ships seaworthy, its' air force airworthy, and its' armor ready to roll.
No, let's build a European aircraft carrier. Heh, maybe we can sell them the USS Truman.

Re engineering schools, in my 5-1/2 decades in the tech world, Iāve worked for, with and over engineers from about every imaginable school. I never saw a measurable correlation to whether any of them were worth their salt and what school they came out of.
I think only two things matter: 1) do they have the intrinsic, curious mind that has to understand how something works, and 2) were they fortunate in having a mentor who saw their light and helped them shine it brighter.
The rest all become bureaucrats and paper shufflers.
Posted by: Manuel Transmission | March 13, 2019 at 01:25 AM

This is an assessment of the Lisa Page testimony that Rep. Collins released, having become fed up with the DOJ foot-dragging.

Something has to be done. I would support the US military having more troops, plus legislation to stop catch and release.

That MCAS sounds like what hubby was describing when we were talking about this crash sunday.
Interesting that this says boeing had to change how the engines were mounted because of their fuel efficient, larger size. That, in turn, changed the planes center of gravity.

I greatly appreciate Nancy Pelosiās statement against impeachment, but everyone must remember the minor fact that I never did anything wrong, the Economy and Unemployment are the best ever, Military and Vets are great - and many other successes! How do you impeach....
..a man who is considered by many to be the President with the most successful first two years in history, especially when he has done nothing wrong and impeachment is for āhigh crimes and misdemeanorsā?
