Jack is Back!

Buckeye,

We have Nest in Southampton and Honeywell smart 'stat in Florida. All wifi enabled. All controllable by phone or iPad app. People complain about losing power, losing WiFi, but they don't realize it doesn't matter since you will lose heat or AC if electric, and if oil or gas, the blower fan will not work. Never a problem with either. Takes a while to understand how to work the various functions but once you do, it's easy.

I was never an I/C engineer, so it took me a bit longer to learn:)

peter

On a trip to Scotland a few years ago, I rented a portable GPS made for hiking. I couldn't get the European maps to load, so it was pretty useless both on foot and in the car.

Jack is Back!

peter,

We use Google maps on the iPhone to navigate around Europe, even though Mrs. JiB knows most routes by heart. One time leaving BRU, Midi-Central Station, we found the fast-line to Antwerp chock-a-block because of a wreck. I had my 90 y.o. FIL with us who knows Flanders like the back of his hand, but he navigated on Google maps as I drove. Only one wrong turn, not his or Google's fault but mine.

We probably saved 2 hours since that is how long the route was blocked for most people.

Jane

Peter,

My trick on Europe works 100% of the time. I go with someone who knows what they are doing. I'm a great follower!

I think it's amazing that no one seems to believe Trump is "not guilty". It's got to be a cover-up for the shit the dems are pulling.

They are either blatantly dishonest or their IQ is lower than Forrest Gump.

That was the biggest advantage of having “13 Angry Democrats” (or whatever the number was) on Mueller’s team. How could there be a coverup with all those Democrats involved?

President-Elect Jim,SunnyvaleCA

JiB, 12:10 that's colossal!

Starting catch up...

Jack is Back!

peter,

Happy for your D.J. son at UVA. Did he get his FCC license or is he working under supervision? My junior year in college I spent the summer and early fall in Worland, Wyoming working for my "dutch uncle" who owned a hotel, restaurant, and the local radio station, KWOR. They had me work afternoons and early evenings (2-7) as a D.J.

I think I have told this story before, but back then the stations would get these pre-recorded 78's of interviews with the top bands. One was of the Beatles. What you do is play it, then ask the questions, put down the needle and they answer your questions (written out for you, of course). Well, after about ten minutes of playing this farce, out came about 20 cars full of teenagers in the parking lot of the station. They thought the Beatles were here in Worland, WY.

It took me and the station engineer 20 minutes to convinvence them it was only a pre-recording:)

President-Elect Jim,SunnyvaleCA

Well, start catch up soon ... soon-ish ...

Trouble is with Fox starting to veer left, who is going to tell the LIV in America, what a farce Mueller's investigation and conclusions were? You are going to get 24/7 anti-Trump, no collusion, spin.

He will have to hit the road again, multiple rallies, more grassroots truth-telling, and hopefully, more revelations of the Deep State perpetrators of the coup.

A little surprised at Molly Hemingway saying that it would be a good thing if Mueller finds that the investigation itself was warranted and not politically motivated. Why would she think that would be anything but a total whitewash of the FBI and DoJ?

The first thing to do is check with your cellphone provider about international service. Usually has to be enabled, and will cost you a bit more for the time you use it.

If you have a Verizon phone (LG or Samsung CDMA), coverage will either be spotty or non-existent. If you have Verizon but on an iPhone, may be better as they typically do CDMA and GSM both.

If you have an AT&T phone (GSM), should work most anywhere, but could be pricey.

For that reason downloading maps is a good idea. Most navigation apps provide for offline maps.

Getting the map data at home is much cheaper than paying Int'l data charges for realtime feeds.

Obviously, GPS receivers are universal and the satellites free to use.

Jack is Back!

Peter,

Buck is right. I forgot to mention enabling International with your provider since I am on permanent international. But use it sparingly unless you get an unlimited cellular data which is really over the top expensive.

Trump is so concerned about Mueller report he went golfing.....😂😂😂he is literally cowering in fear per leftists 😂😂😂. Can one cower on the golf course?😂😂😂

Jack is Back!

Talk about "Get off my Lawn".

I live on the 18th fairway near the green overlooking the beach. Pretty spectacular on a Links type golf course, across from our clubhouse. Just to give you a picture.

Today around 3 pm I am on our upper terrace at the Bistro table watching my friends come up 18 and play the green when out of the blue, 8 kids on bikes come streaming across the fairway, while people are in it waiting for my friends to exit the green! Unbelievable.

So, I get up and yell at them to get off the course. No bikes, etc. One kid gives me the finger. Stupid kid. I know where they are staying. Just around the corner from me. They are spring breakers, and their host is a member. Oh, boy, what a phone call and letter he will be getting:). The people on the green are big time members and players. One emailed me and encouraged me to report but I had already.

Which raises a question I have always had about property, manners, behavior, and discipline. Why don't parents give a crap about their kids and friends behavior when visiting anymore? This is not the first time visitors to parents here are disabused the course or club. Its almost as if, "we tried in the past, and oh well, kids will be kids". These are not the left wing city kids of reefer madness and antifa.

If Frederick or his friends ever acted like this they would be getting 20 lashes of a leather belt.

JM Hanes

Hi, MJW!

"I don't trust Mueller, and wouldn't be surprised if there were some landmines in his report."

That's possible, but considering how little he actually got from Trump, most of his go-to process crimes are out, and I would hate to see what kind of legal pretzel he'd have to turn himself into in order to seriously suggest that Trump might be guilty of obstruction. Seems to me that his power to fire Comey was pretty much absolute. I suspect that Mueller would try to repeatedly emphasize that his investigation was confined to a very narrow slice of what might be out there. Hint. Hint.

That said, I'm not sure that it is, in fact, Mueller, who will actually be writing the summary for Congress. I could be wrong, but it's my impression that it's the Atty General who is tasked with shaping the information which Congress will see.

Jack is Back!

Remember "The Peter Principle"? I know most of you in the business of business whatever it was, saw it illuminated and performed on a daily basis but in our form of Government, it is like every nano-second.

Let's not forget Seth Rich. If anyone has finished that twelve page timeline Tweet and is is looking for some afternoon reading, from a fellow who I can say has posted at Althouse for a while:

I recommend that everyone read an article that Consortium News published on March 13. The article is a memorandum that was sent on that day to Attorney General William Barr by the Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity (VIPS). The memorandum is titled Mueller’s Forensics-Free Findings and was signed by 18 VIPS members. The apparent author is VIPS member William Binney, former NSA Technical Director for World Geopolitical & Military Analysis and Co-founder of NSA’s Signals Intelligence Automation Research Center.

The memorandum challenges the apparent inadequate forensic analysis that Robert "The FBI Whitewasher" Mueller conducted of the computers that supposedly were hacked. Essentially Binney and the VIPS argue that the theft of the data was not accomplished by hacking but rather by insiders who downloaded the data directly onto manual devices.

The VIPS article is followed by a comments section, and I recommend that everyone read the several comments written by Norumbega. He argues that the theft of John Podesta's e-mails and the theft of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) files were accomplished by separate individuals acting independently from each other.

In particular, Norumbega argues that Podesta's e-mails were stolen by a US Intelligence employee who had been assigned to collect and study Podesta's e-mails because Podesta was lobbying for Saudi Arabia. This employee on his own initiative provided Podesta's e-mails to Wikileaks.

Norumbega argues further that the DNC files were download onto a Western Digital hardrive by Seth Rich, who sold them to Wikileaks for $48,000.

Norumbega has developed the following time-line for relevant events in 2016:

May 23-26: Seth Rich downloads the DNC files to an external storage device.

Before June 12: Rich negotiates the sale with Wikileaks and then transfers the files to WikiLeaks.

June 12: Julian Assange announces the forthcoming release of files related to Hillary Clinton

June 12-15: Fear about the release develops within the Democrat leadership

June 23: Seth Rich receives the $48,000 from Wikileaks

July 10: Seth Rich murdered

July 22: Wikileaks publishes the DNC files

------

Norumbega suggests that Guccifer 2.0 was a fictitious character created by the DNC (CrowdStrike) for the purpose of causing the public to believe that the data had been stolen by Russian Intelligence.

"Geologic time offers useful perspective." A propos of what, I wonder? Tell it to the climate change alarmists.

He must really like the bizarrely ominous photo of the President that led off his New Times op ed because he reproduced it in his twitter stream. I admit, I couldn't resist reading the column just for the schadenfreudiness of it. As for his claim that he wasn't looking for any particular result, he does "confess" to hoping Congress does not decide to impeach the President (unless it's absolutely necessary of course), because "a significant portion of this country would see this as a coup." Ya think? What he's imagining, instead, is the pleasure of watching, as the whole country unites in "the belief that the president of the United States cannot be a chronic liar who repeatedly attacks the rule of law," and votes Trump out of office. Sounds more like why Comey got booted from the FBI, to me.

What a slimy, back-biting creep! He needs a self-awareness intervention and an irony tutorial -- only because I wish he knew how much all those folks who might take issue with a coup despise him. It would sure be gratifying to see the President rack up a numerical win on top of the electoral college, next time around.

I went back and read quite a few of the comments on that stupid Comey tweet. 90% of the commenters have the attitude we do, and then there are the anti-Trump people who think Comey is a hero (because they have put that Hillary thing out of their memory).

It got me to thinking how many democrats there really are. In my family, which started out as 100% democrat when Jimmy Carter was elected, only 40% are now, and that either has to do with union affiliation or social issues.

I assume that these percents are pretty much representative of people throughout my area, and wouldn't be surprised if it held true throughout the Midwest.

I just cannot imagine that the current democrat issues (pro-late term abortion, high taxes, no border security, socialism, etc.) are going to attract too many people. Plus every single one of the candidates is either nutty, repulsive, or both.

https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2019/03/22/important-report-mccabe-and-page-text-messages-withheld-from-congress-by-corrupt-doj-officials/#more-161561

It appears Sundance failed to ask the key question. Who gave Herridge the 40 pages of communications between McCabe and Page? The DOJ/FBI were obviously the original owners of this evidence. Most likely the evidence was uncovered by Horowitz. I think it’s almost a certainty someone in the DOJ gave the 40 pages of evidence to Herridge and instructed her to sit on it until the Mueller SC was over. Sundance seems like a pretty smart guy but anyone with an IQ higher than Forrest Gump should know it would be colossally stupid on the DOJ’s part to turn over evidence being used in a criminal proceeding to Congress while the investigation is still in process.

You have apparently misinterpreted the entire point of my comment on that Sundance oped. Sundance jumped to a conclusion, most likely wrong, that the "corrupt" DOJ is withholding evidence from Congress. I pointed out that the source of those 40 pages of comms between McCabe and Page was almost certainly someone in the DOJ. Also, it appears fairly obvious someone in the DOJ with high level access to that kind of evidence wanted the information to become public, when the time was right, because they gave the information to Herridge.

That is a really interesting article about green spaces and mental health.

ANOTHER reason to keep the Electoral College: we don't want the crazy people in cities electing the president!

I rip your sources to shreds, Tom, not you.

In your own mind maybe. That certainly isn't how I would categorize it. Why would you even attempt to "rip to shreds" a fellow Trump supporter who put in a lot of time and effort to document over the course of 200+ tweets backed up with citations the history of events behind Spygate? All that does is come across as a dick move IMO. If you believe you ripped that guys work to shreds then you may want to step back from the keyboard and reassess yourself.

That's why Frau and I called him Reverend Queasy.

Speaking of a day to celebrate, where's RG to join in the fun? Watching Florida and Meeechigan is the immediate answer...

Dudes. What's the point of this pissing contest,

TK is just being TK trying to ridicule and belittle a Twitter Sleuth that MM linked and I relinked.

So only one person is pissing?
Your original comment on that 45_schedule thing didn't even note that it mentioned the prior meeting and you acted like that meeting was what TomR was referring to.
You were just as far off base as his assertion of who was at the prior meeting, a meeting you didn't mention, and yet you both keep on about this stupid meaningless shit for days.
There are a lot of ways to be rude; yours are just a little more subtle than his.
Have you ever objected to Gus calling him every name in the book or is that not rude?

Why the hell the three of you can't just shut up about each other for awhile is beyond me.
If I wanted to go back to high school I'd buy a DeLorean.

Oh for God's sake, Tom; some of those people are attention mongering click addicts. Just because you share a common affinity doesn't mean that someone can't be overly zealous in taking potential relationships as iron clad facts.

Heh. Just the opposite of what she said.

To be honest, I scroll on by any TK to TR interactions. Boring and im-material beyond all hell. But then I am an old foggy who wants to see concrete results, not speculation. Until then, I am an Old Foggy.

Captain Hate,

That long thread I posted with the events of SpyGate must have taken many hours of work. The Poster doesn't have a web site nor a way to monetize his tweets. I see no reason he would expend all of that time and effort unless he was sincere about his work.

Now, he may be assigning more importance to connections between the different parties than actually exists. I don't know.

However, to assume that very long thread was simply done for clicks is not fair, in my opinion.

I asked a specific question of Tom. I quoted Tom.

Hello, Tom. You may need a refresher on your claim:

Is this @45_Schedule Twitter handle official? There is no blue check mark.

Regardless of whether or not it is someone from the WH running the account, should whoever they are be ashamed for pointing out Sessions, Barr, Rosenstein and Huber had a meeting at the WH before the public ceremony at the DOJ to honor Sessions?

Is shouldn't be this much of a struggle for you to post a direct quote from "45_schedule" that backs up your version of events.

You claimed that 45_schedule said that "Sessions, Barr, Rosenstein and Huber had a meeting at the WH before the public ceremony at the DOJ." Is that what 45_schedule actually said at your link?
