MissMarple2

Bedtime for me.

Good night, everyone!

rich

i'll go with Ultron ... have you seen captain marvel yet? any thoughts.

Captain Hate

Damn you were right, narc; it was Kerensky who totally screwed the Provisional government.

rich

good night to you mm.

Narciso79

Yes, of course John Reed a portlandian from way back, got it backwards.

Narciso79

Art has so, so has James d, James liked it, I couldn't get a firm view on art.

My talk about Alita confused the issue - Captain Marvel is a good MU movie and I enjoyed it.

a moment of doubt. he is more cryptic the more truthful he wants to be.

we can take the meetup discussion offline to firm up the dates and place. I'd like to make a 4 day weekend of it.

going tomorrow. more antman than ironman?

[i suspect Marvel is going to kill her off in Endgame and then reboot the whole universe centered around deadpool and spiderman]

rich

should have included black panther, don't think that was expected to have been as big of a hit as it was.

Narciso79

I dont think so she'd committed to seven films,

rich

they can liquidate that contract.

rich

i do hope that guardians vol 3 gets rated R though ... there is a rated R cut of guardians 2 that i think is out there.

Narciso79

They might have to put feige in a straight jacket, he started out in volcano, like Cameron did with piranha 2.

Narciso79

When they deaged kurt Russell it was creepy. I thought the film was too dayglo.

George Papadopoulos has an interesting tweet. Looking forward to Monday.

Marvel was not at all Antman. Not much comic relief. She has real power and the movie treats it with respect.

Yike, ABob.
Hope you find a safe port in the storm.

And rich too, of course but I've always had the impression that rich has things under control.

No Powerball winner. Cash prize is now $465.5 million.

Interesting psychology involved, maybe worth a look at by behavioral economists. You want to win so badly, but somehow it's OK when you lose, because nobody else won either. A chance at a bigger prize later. OTOH, if somebody does win you stop buying tickets until the prize is worthwhile again.

Big prizes draw in even more big money so I'm thinking the prizes grow on a log scale. Who want's a measly $20 million prize. It's not life-changing money and not worth buying a ticket.

This kind of money is compelling in terms of a change in lifestyle. So you see people betting large sums of money when the prize gets this big.

An interesting thought is if you believed you could pick the winner's date you could save up all your prior bets and put all the money on the winning date.

Like timing the stock market next to impossible to do.

What's funny is that most states made lottery winnings tax-exempt to encourage the betting and because the odds are worse than you could get from a casino in the beginning. But rapacious as they are in trying to find taxable money most states abandoned the exemption.

Now you are left with states that are willing to pay you to leave, so to speak, because if you move out of state you can save months worth of home state taxation.

Win the lottery, become a citizen of Florida or Texas immediately, and you save enough to buy a house with the taxes you save on.

You're paid to move out of state, in effect, all that money you would have spent in-state gets spent elsewhere.

New home, new car, ad infinitum.

If anyone here wins remember this quote, "It's more than I need, but not as much as I want."

It's the basics of economics. Most of us find a way to live within our means or go bankrupt, if not, but if you had the chance to name a number how high would it be?

Got a $4.00 winner. I'm in for the next round. Hope you enjoyed this digression.

As I attempt to skim that voluminous thread, I run into things that I have no idea what they're supposed to mean. For example, that company that Brennan was associated with had an employee caught accessing passport data on Obama, Rodham and McCain.

Posted by: Captain Hate | March 23, 2019 at 08:03 PM

A key witness in a federal probe into passport information stolen from the State Department was fatally shot in front of a District church, the Metropolitan Police Department said yesterday.

Lt. Quarles Harris Jr., 24, who had been cooperating with a federal investigators, was found late Thursday night slumped dead inside a car[UNEXPECTEDLY], in front of the Judah House Praise Baptist Church in Northeast, said Cmdr. Michael Anzallo, head of the department's Criminal Investigations Division.

Good morning!

My big expedition today is to see if I can fit 2 chairs into my suv. My brother and his wife have sold their home and are moving to Cincinnati to be close to their 2 daughters, who both live there with their husbands and, of course, the grandchildren. He has given my daughter 2 chairs, one of which will go in the apare bedroom and one of which will go in her bedroom.

I am hoping to do this in one trip, since he lives about 15 miles away.

An interesting article, but what caught my eye was this statement at the end by The Hill:

"Buttigieg is the only openly gay candidate in the 2020 Democratic primary as well as the only currently serving mayor among the prominent contenders."

Why not just say the only gay candidate? Who is gay but not openly?

New @CNN poll just out shows support for impeaching Trump has dropped to its lowest level - from 43% to 36% - mostly thanks to a 12-point drop among Democrats

====================
1. Slanted CNN poll still can only muster 36%

2. This came out a couple of days BEFORE Mueller ended with no more indictments.

The person who introduced me to western intelligence asset, Joseph Mifsud, also introduced Alison Saunders (the UKs top prosecutor) to Bruce Ohr 4 days before the Trump tower meeting. I expose this person in my book. U.K. is the epicenter of the coup attempt of last 2 years.

================================

If this is true, I am glad he is talking. It will make it easier to declassify stuff which shows this.

It would not surprise me. I believe I mentioned some time ago that the UK doing this constitutes an act of war.

I agree, that's how people think, but it's totally irrational. The smallest jackpot is totally life-changing money. $20M? As long as you're not a complete idiot you will live a VERY comfortable life and certainly never have to work again.

It's not earned income. Could you move to WY, FL, TN, TX or VT before you redeem it?

I just assumed that you had to pay the state taxes of wherever you bought the ticket (the same way athletes and actors etc have to pay taxes for days they play/perform in states with income taxes, regardless of where they actually live).
