Run, Beto! Or stroll. Ambling is fine. Whatever he does he'll look Kennedyesque doing it.
His fans compare him to Mr. Obama or the Kennedys — a font of rangy inspiration — rarely dwelling on his record. But Mr. O’Rourke would enter the race without a signal achievement over six years as an El Paso congressman, nor an obvious big-ticket policy idea that might animate his bid.
So not just Kennedyesque, Obamaesque?
In public settings of late, Mr. O’Rourke has placed immigration, education and especially climate change at the center of his remarks, which tend to focus most on a high-minded-but-vague message of uniting a divided nation.
Is his slogan "Hope and Change"? Might work again!
Captain Hate,
I bet it has crossed his mind as well.

Miss Marple, the experience of the Tea Party was instructive of how the GOP would marginalize any group of upstarts, even when they gave them a temporary advantage, and make them toe the line. Term limits might help, despite some otherwise intelligent people being spectacularly unsuccessful in making me believe otherwise.

Pagar was a VFW chaplain, one of the offices in his VFW post. He was not a true military chaplain.
It would not surprise me that like AOC, both Omar, and Tlaib were cherry-picked, handled, and in control by other nefarious groups. And as far as her drawing a crowd at SXSW, a lot of that is curiosity seekers to witness how dumb she really is in real life.

MM-
The climate change meme is intended to create was is called a "global public good." The public supposedly has a right to a climate that can sustain life and claiming it is threatened means that only global coordination can "save us."
The remedy is to control people and their behaviors. By claiming CAGW, governments at all levels get to change people and their behaviors while pretending that is a side effect for their own protection, not the actual goal all along.
That's why freezing or heating doesn't matter. The supposed threat enables the kind of coordination desired.

rse,
I understand, but my principle concern is that because we have so few people in this country educated in science or math, they are easily frightened into not only supporting a pointless and controlling policy, but that at the same time we are not doing things which would save lives.
It is much harder for people to survive extreme cold than a few degrees extra of warmth.
The politicization of science for financial and controlling purposes is very real and a danger to the nation. Look at how many obese people there are due to the food pyramid we were all brought up with, which discouraged protein while encouraging excessive consumption of carbohydrates.
Why doesn't anyone remember photosynthesis, and how we need CO2 for plants, which in turn produce oxygen?
It is very upsetting and I was glad to see that Fox had that Greenpeace guy on.

Is this really true? I'd like DrJ or jimmyk to comment on this because this might be Gas Chamber propaganda to cut costs with more H1B visas. Maybe the mean of the bell curve has shifted to the left but that doesn't mean that the number of people two standard deviations to the right, with advanced expertise needed in specialized jobs, is inadequate.

Captain Hate,
I am not talking about scientists or mathematicians. I am just discussing average people who used to be able to read basic graphs and understand simple concepts like photosynthesis.
My daughter, a college graduate (albeit in fine arts) looked at me like I was nuts when I started talking about why we need some amount of CO2 and how no matter how clean our air got, China and India were still going to be pumping tons of carbon into the air every day.
She then accused me of being brainwashed by reading right wing propaganda.
She is not a stupid person, but obviously she didn't get the same information in grade and high school that I received. Now we see that there is a campaign on to USE children by scaring them to death and organizing them to demonstrate promoting all of this Green New Deal stuff.
rse is right about how they are trying to change kids' manner of thinking so that they are more easily controlled.

MM-the original nsf-funded math and science partnerships that were designed to alter the nature of math and science instruction via state systemic partnerships goes back to 1994.
It ties to new math in the 60s but the outcry there put the genie back in the bottle for a while. There was actually a conference at woods hole in, I believe, 1962 laying out the intentional change in direction. I have the minutes here somewhere. As usual there was a reference to the conference in a book footnote and then I was able to track down all the info.

Airplanes are becoming far too complex to fly. Pilots are no longer needed, but rather computer scientists from MIT. I see it all the time in many products. Always seeking to go one unnecessary step further, when often old and simpler is far better. Split second decisions are....
....needed, and the complexity creates danger. All of this for great cost yet very little gain. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want Albert Einstein to be my pilot. I want great flying professionals that are allowed to easily and quickly take control of a plane!

But even in our "smarter" past we bought into crap like Disney spewed out about lemmings being weirdly mass suicidal to the point that it became a generic term. Granted they're just a small mammal above the Arctic circle that we're unlikely ever to encounter and climate is everywhere.
My older daughter is more accomplished in math than I am. My Indian son in law insisted a few years ago that the most creative programmers he'd encountered were from the US. Those are both anecdotal things but they point out why I haven't gone full tilt alarmist.
