Run, Beto! Or stroll. Ambling is fine. Whatever he does he'll look Kennedyesque doing it.
His fans compare him to Mr. Obama or the Kennedys — a font of rangy inspiration — rarely dwelling on his record. But Mr. O’Rourke would enter the race without a signal achievement over six years as an El Paso congressman, nor an obvious big-ticket policy idea that might animate his bid.
So not just Kennedyesque, Obamaesque?
In public settings of late, Mr. O’Rourke has placed immigration, education and especially climate change at the center of his remarks, which tend to focus most on a high-minded-but-vague message of uniting a divided nation.
Is his slogan "Hope and Change"? Might work again!
Actually, I think Trump is right about aircraft.
Airbus made some serious blunders with over automation, and Boeing may have caught the same disease.
I remember my primary instructor saying "just fly the fucking airplane".
Hard to do if the plane is fighting you.

https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2019/03/12/exclusive-president-donald-trump-were-thinking-very-seriously-about-designating-mexican-cartels-as-foreign-terrorist-organizations/
I would support this 100%. It also would make those taking bribes guilty of conspiring with a foreign enemy.

Frau? and Pagar? and Daddy?
I am seriously considering a new JOM personality for myself. I think the "new" OL might pick fights with everybody he loves here (leaving the *holes alone entirely) so that I won't be so, so sad when we lose people I seriously consider good friends.

via Insty:
JAMES BOVARD: Ethiopia crash of Boeing 737 Max might be latest example of backfiring safety efforts. “Investigators have only begun sorting out this tragedy but some experts suggest that the plane’s automated safety software may have prevented the pilot from preventing the fatal plunge. If software and sensors designed to prevent crashes actually increased the risk of catastrophe, then the Boeing accidents are another reminder that safety policies can have unintended fatal consequences.”

I am so sad to hear about Pagar and Frau. I guess they can gather with the others on JustOneEternity.
Frau must have been 83 or 84. She came to the big Tea Party march in 2010 to celebrate 75, I think. She was a little spitfire even then.

Another Barbara is still active on FB.
I can find no obit for Frau aka Dawn H. Ridder either on The Claremont Courier or Legacy.com. Perhaps Hans, her hubby, wanted to keep it all private.

From OL's link:
"Singer would accommodate what parents wanted to do," Lelling said, adding that it "appears that the schools are not involved."
I do not believe that for a nanosecond. I think the schools had to know, and didn't care. Or got their own cut of the bribes somewhere along the line.

I have taken care of poor/underclass for forty five years now. Whoever rolls through an ER gets the care they need. Far fewer encounters now than my my first fifteen years of school/practice.
There has been a marked change in attitude/behavior over the past decade.
Basically, what at our house we refer to as "feral children." There are a not insignificant per centage of "the poor" now who basically are uncivilized. They barely can speak; bark orders at people who they used to recognize as having some authority over them, or regard for; and have basically no respect whatsoever for any other being.
Mainly manifested in late twenties on down. Skin color not neccessarily a factor, but I have seen it more often in AA.
??rap culture
??natural result of now four generations on welfare, no dads around for over 70%?
