Keep your reading glasses handy! The 400 page Mueller report is due at, presumably with the 9:30 AM (Eastern) press conference.
The only certainty: in those 400 pages there will be material that inspires the "Impeach Now!" crowd as well as material that enrages those who want the senior FBI and DoJ leadership who instigated and this investigation locked up.
The first casualty of 24/7 media (and Twitter) is context.
"It's a paper headed by Chinese dissidents"
Falun Gong, or some other?
Might make sense then, we have a lot of Chinese in the general neighborhood.

I think they are an off shoot, it's sad there is no native us publication follows up these matters

Yes, they appear to be related t Falun Gong.
"The Epoch Times is a multi-language newspaper headquartered in New York City. The company was founded in 2000 by John Tang and a group of Chinese Americans associated with the Falun Gong spiritual movement. The newspaper covers general interest topics with a focus on news about China and human rights issues there."
It's curious to me that MissM frequently links to them. I wouldn't think it would be very well-read in Indiana ... But it seems their coverage is reasonably conservative so they probably print a lot of congenial stuff.

Jim,Sunnyvale,
I link to them because they hired a couple of people I followed on Twitter. I simply thought it was a web site, as I never see an actual paper here in my neck of the woods. I had no idea it was connected to Falung Gong.

Hey Jane!! Thank you for all the love and concern.
I will call you this weekend. I'm well, my illness vis a vis pneumonia was worse than I had realized, and it had exacerbated some other things. I had pneumonia in DEC-JAN 2017-2018 and it may have actually stayed within my lungs/system and came back for a second visit. 3 courses of antibiotics and treatment did not KILL IT. I am feeling better, and I am down 40lbs. My strength and muscle mass needs to come back. AND IT WILL.

Pneumonia doesn't ask permission to knock you down. It is in control. I fought and fought. I continued to work. I fought some more. I went to the Doctor and got antibiotics, once, twice, then HEAVY DUTY the third time. And I continued to fight and attempt to function. Fighting it, stopped me from resting and recovering. My bad. My pride, my mistake, my stubborness. Finally, I knew. I went to the urgent care, and y'all know the rest.

A lot of the redactions are focused on the 12 criminal referrals that we don’t know who are involved yet. I am extremely looking forward to the discussion here if it turns out Mueller did indeed investigate members of the Obama criminal cabal and he turned over all that evidence to the DOJ for prosecution.

All of the CRIMES related to the RUSSIA RUSSIA RUSSIA, INSURANCE POLICY HOAX, that have NOT been brought to bear, would seem to discount MUELLER going far afield. I sense that MUELLER took the investigation as far as he could, and found NOTHING on TRUMP. He didn't change direction and go after RODHAM et al, because he didn't want to.

Any evidence of criminal activity Mueller discovered that was outside the scope of his appointment letter required him to turn that evidence over to the DOJ. That resulted in 14 criminal referrals two of which we know about (Cohen and Craig). I imagine the names involved in the 12 redacted referrals will make everyone here happy that justice may finally be served as well as realize they were wrong about Mueller.

Posted by: Pinandpuller | April 19, 2019 at 03:22 AM
MJW,
I haven't looked at the report, but suspect you are correct.
Dershowitz linked above explains, to some extant, the differing interpretations of law. Others whom I have read call it an "untested theory,"
Looking further at the coverage I see a bifurcation on the coverage.
People wrote their articles last night, before the press conference, and modified them to fit their prejudices thereafter. So they had the ad hominem attacks ready to go for early release. And the democrats could pile on with similar talking points.
Secondly, the 11AM release caught up short all of the media. That's why you have all these unimportant nit-picking stories. Nobody had enough time to read the whole thing and write a cogent overall story. The reporters couldn't "collude" on their talking points.
They might start coordinating today though. Which is going to look a lot like the Pharisees settling on an argument. Not a good look for Good Friday.
Expect that to be a theme tomorrow on the push-back.

Posted by: Pinandpuller | April 19, 2019 at 03:40 AM
jim nj, I think it's related to, but goes beyond, the argument that a president acting within his authority can't obstruct justice. The legal argument in the Mueller Dossier seems to me to be very similar to the argument that was unanimously rejected by the Supreme Court in the Arthur Anderson case: namely, that any act that impedes the prosecutor from obtaining evidence is inherently "corrupt," even if that act is otherwise entirely benign.
Posted by: MJW | April 19, 2019 at 03:49 AM
MJW,
Yes, intent is required in my opinion. As I see it, if Trump takes an action that is legal to his authority, than he can't be charged with "obstruction."
You can't infer "intent" without solid evidence. What you "think" his intentions were doesn't matter.
Finally, wanting something to "happen" and not taking action on that goal can not be obstruction. No action, no obstruction. Unless you want to charge someone with "thought crimes."

Pretty much validates my idea of a bifurcation in media efforts. Spend an hour and a half vilifying Barr then do a quick scan of the report to continue the coverage.
So each team of researchers is working in an uncoordinated manner grabbing at stuff without a real analysis to go along with it.
I don't think these disjointed articles are going to work as stand alones. Too easy to refute each.

jim nj-- I had an early day yesterday , so driving home at 1:15, listening to NPR---which was "continuing it's BREAKING NEWS coverage of the Barr presser and release of the Mueller report!
Like it was 9/11, or Columbine.
They'd been talking about it for four hours by then, assuming they started coverage before his 9:30 presser.
I am certain there had to have been lots of "grabbing stuff without a real analysis" to fill the air space.
This is where Colbert got his 'truthiness' meme.

Dave, JMH, Thanks for the Arlington connections. It was great growing up where there was so much history. While I’ve been gone from there for nearly 40 years most of my relatives remain.

Wishes for a holy and blessed Good Friday, Holy Saturday, and Easter to all who look to these days to be that.
(From the surgery schedule today--the busiest Good Friday I've seen---not as many people doing that these days.)

Anonamon,
I was glued here trying to catch up. Clicking on all the links provided.
Watching the odd reporting from a few hours behind real-time.
I don't get cable news, but I can imagine them in "crisis" mode all day long.
They can nit-pick all they want but Trump won and they lost. Trying to extend their biased coverage is just going to make them look worse, a lot worse, like loss of credit-ability bad.

What we now is indictments dropping so the media can spend their time defending them all.
We need the "true believers" to continue to watch CNN and MSNBC until the "psych" wagons come to commit them where they can be properly medicated for their psychosis.

Man, they got nothing!
NPR is covering "revelations that the president's spokesmen were 'misleading.'
Oh really?
Like "a video caused Ben Ghazi" misleading?
You had your chance, but failed the 'misleading' test in 2012.

They got nothing...
They got a nothing elected President (44) a while back, so this condition is not known to stop them from whatever they are up to.

Dershowitz covers what Levin mentioned last night, namely that it's not a prosecutor's job to exonerate someone but to either charge a crime or not; which is completely lost on Patterico, a low IQ monkey dancing to the police state's organ grinder. And then there's the logical impossibility of disproving a negative.
But henry is right, they got nothing but are too ignorant to understand that. I don't see how anyone can view Mueller as a good guy after that stink bomb of a Report.

Sara Carter on the Hannity rerun that I am listening to says there will be indictments coming, quite a few, and that they are already starting to turn on each other.
