BRUSSELS (Reuters) - European Union countries gave final clearance on Monday to start formal trade talks with the United States after months of delay due to French resistance.

MM,

That's my thinking. You link to many of them. Some make sense, others don't.

The ones who link with good insights and solid referrals to evidence should be listened to.

And maybe work with the DOJ.

Crowd-sourcing may be conjectural, but a lot of them seem to be on point. The DOJ should listen to them just like any other "whistle-blowers."

And if the DOJ doesn't respond to them, they should keep hammering away.

God knows the media will do the opposite.

MM,

I'm up too late but I wanted to comment on Macron. He has been opposed to the US-EU talks since we left the Paris Accord on Climate Change.

The other EU countries have been ignoring him.

Macron is grandstanding again. We have a better record of reducing emissions than France.

Buy Trump is evil and Macron is virtuous.

What do I know about branding, maybe nothing (but I did become President!), but if I were Boeing, I would FIX the Boeing 737 MAX, add some additional great features, & REBRAND the plane with a new name.
No product has suffered like this one. But again, what the hell do I know?

I know many have given up hope of justice being done. However, a comment by Trump last week caught my interest. He said there was a hunger for justice out there he has never seen. This tells me he knows what is needed. Will the DOJ deliver? IDK but Trump knows it's needed.

James D.

This whole idea of transgender awareness before hitting puberty seems very wrong.

It’s absolute crap, and it’s horribly damaging.

The whole issue is just a sick delusion. Transgender as far as I’m concerned is 99.99% a mental illness not much different from anorexia - what tot see in the mirror does not match what your brain is telling you.

The difference is, nobody would in a million years consider treating an anorexic by giving them diet pills, putting them on a 500 calorie per day diet, or sending them for bariatric surgery. And if it was a minor, any parents who pushed such a course of action would be hanged - rightfully so - with child abuse.

But we’re all supposed to cheer for the equivalent approach when it comes to transgender. It is monstrous.

The classification of minivans as trucks meant that what many familes believed were 'safe' vehicles did not meet the safety criteria of cars when there was a side impact collision.

When I bought the just released Lexus 470 in 1998 (one of the great vehicles which is why so many are still on the road) one of the selling features beyond the v-8 was that lexus had voluntarily built that suv with beams to protect against side impacts. It also drove like a car with a tight turning radius because it was not designed onto an existing truck frame.

Drove it for almost 18 years and then sold it for almost $5 K with more than 200K miles on it. A family that had unexpectedly had twins wanted something they knew wold keep them all safe.

On station wagons, someone said kids hated them, but as little kids we loved it. Put down the back seats and it was like a covered pickup truck, with a mini-playroom in the back. We would sit around and play cards or board games on long trips. Obviously before the days of required seatbelts. Amazing we lived to tell about it.

THEY SPIED ON MY CAMPAIGN (We will never forget)!

Jack is Back!

[NB: A little risque, and remember I'm Catholic.]

A nun and a priest were crossing the Sahara desert on a camel. On the third day out, the camel suddenly dropped dead without warning.
After dusting themselves off, the nun and the priest surveyed their situation and, after a long period of silence, the priest spoke.
'Well, Sister, this looks pretty grim.'
'I know, Father. In fact, I don't think it’s likely that we can survive more than a day or two.'
'I agree,' says the priest. 'Sister, since we are unlikely to make it out of here alive, would you do something for me?'
'Anything, Father.'
'I have never seen a woman's breasts and I was wondering if I might see…. yours.'
'Well, under the circumstances, I don't see that it would do any harm.'
The nun opened her habit and the priest enjoyed the sight of her shapely breasts, commenting excitedly on their beauty.
'Sister, would you mind if I …. touched them?' She consented and he fondled them for several minutes.
'Father, could I ask something of you?'
'Yes, Sister?'
'I have never seen a man's penis. Could I perhaps see yours?'
'I suppose that would be OK,' the priest replied, while lifting his robe.
'Oh Father, may I touch it?'
The priest consented, and after a few minutes of fondling he was sporting a huge erection.
'Sister, you know that if I insert my penis in the right place, it can give life.'
'Is that true, Father?'
'Yes, it is, Sister.'
'Oh Father, glory be! That's just wonderful! Stick it in the camel and let's get the hell out of here!!!'

Captain Hate

Btw, for the old timers here, has the Masters ever ended early like yesterday before? One aspect of the timing of the tee starts vs a Monday finish has to do with the sheer logistical nightmare caused by accommodations secured by the visitors to angc with everything geared to sunday evening or Monday morning departures. Those Monday reschedulings have people trying to stay over with no place to stay and create nightmares for everyone involved. This was an easy adjustment and the bad weather info steph commented on had hubby leave to go check on something and get caught on 285 yesterday in what he says is the worst storm he has ever been stuck in. 285 was full of standing water not draining.

Also, I don't think I wrote about what it sounded like here starting at 5 am on the monday after the super bowl. Because the private jets had to make reservations and leave whn scheduled they started at 5 am and it was a near constant roar until at least 8 coming from the direction of PDK. I would be surprised if augusta and probably aiken a well had not gone to some kind of reservation system to handle all the private aviation. Another logistical nightmare to revise.

I had never thought about that. The logistics do sound like a nightmare.

Our big event is the 500 Mile Race, but it's not quite as complicated. Most people make reservations for 2 days since the race doesn't end until the afternoon and most people are worn out from sitting outside in the heat.

The big name racers stay over because the next night is the awards banquet, so the airport gets a little less congested. The planes going out the day of the race are the Hollywood stars and corporations.

Birthday Wish

A man asked his wife what she'd like for her birthday. "I'd love to be eight again." she replied. On the morning of her birthday, he arose early, made her a nice big bowl of Coco Pops, and then took her off to the local theme park. What a day!

He put her on every ride in the park: the Death Slide, the Wall of Fear, the Screaming Monster Roller Coaster, every thing there was. Five hours later she staggered out of the theme park. Her head was reeling and her stomach felt upside down.

Right away, they journeyed to a McDonald's where her loving husband ordered her a Happy Meal with extra fries and a refreshing chocolate shake.

Then it was off to the movies: the latest Star Wars epic, a hot dog, popcorn, all the Coke she could drink, and her favorite M&M's. What a fabulous adventure!

Finally she wobbled home with her husband and collapsed into bed exhausted. He leaned over his precious wife with a big smile and lovingly asked, Well, Dear, what was it like being eight again?" Her eyes slowly opened and her expression suddenly changed. "I meant my dress size!!!!!!!
