There may or may not be an uprising or coup taking place in Venezuela. CNN has been taken off the air down there. The NY Times has coverage.

You can run, but you can't hide Beasts!
Sorry I upset you on the other thread. I started down that train of thought yesterday when a poster I find offensive remarked that under my definition of the Ledge, he would have to be admitted. That forced me to stop and think why I would want to share space with people I simply don't want to associate with...or why they would want to associate with me if they feel the same way. So sure, Patriotism and Love of Country are good qualities for sure, and that even entitles them to more than the benefit of the doubt, but that alone is not enough to force me to live with them.
Like you, I have never resented the taxes I have paid. But there were rules and expectations we all accepted when we paid them. Those rules have been torn asunder and might or might not be restored, and even as some of us hope to rebuild the rules that were, damn near half the country wants nothing to do with that old deal.
The group can and will make whatever rules it wants, and individuals will have to decide how to live under them or away from them.

In the normal parlance of international politics, this is not a coup because it isn't an illegal seizure. However, there is another definition of coup that would apply if Guaido's Group succeeds in ousting the thugs.
As to Rhodes, I wouldn't call him beneath contempt, because that would be an insult to contemptible people who may have some redeeming qualities.

Yes, they were off limits. As a matter of fact, so was Chelsea Clinton.
I am so infuriated by this and everyone should be, because this shows you what these evil people will do to lowly folks like me if they get into power.
I believe this might have ended Don Jr.'s marriage because his wife was worried about how this would go and scared for her children. As it turns out, they are still going to harass them.
He will, as I said, have to go after these people or they will destroy his family after he leaves the White House. This is what Rush said today.

Posted by: Beasts of England | April 30, 2019 at 05:44 PM
Everything is a Bell Curve Beasts, even lines of demarcations.
Not a bad thing.
The genius of the Constitution was how the Founders were able to weave lines from a number of groups from the old country such that the most number of diverse itches got scratched, and no unsurvivable itch went un-addressed even if some might have been deferred until they could be scratched subsequently with tools included in the document.

Actually, the key facts about C'ville are about permits, police management of crowds, AND the make-up of the permitted protesters. If the civil rights of the permitted protesters had been respected, if the police had done their duty to the people and the law, if the police chief mayor and governor had done their jobs (and perhaps had not committed civil rights violations), then there would have been no "C'ville" (unless the unrelated young stupid kook had run into somebody).
The over-arching "key fact" about it all is that there is no longer anything resembling are a real press in the country - or all of this would have been clear, and the mixed nature of the crowd, and the culpability of the police/mayor and (primarily) the troublemakers on the Antifa side, would be widely known.
Oh and AG Barr, have a staffer look in the back of the files for a folder labeled "Charlottesville Events Civil Rights Investigation". If DOJ had done its job, as Sessions promised that very day, then most of the facts would have been clarified even without a press doing its job.
