“A deception so deep that Paul Ryan and Mitt Romney get the Roger Stone

First of all that is a fantasy that is never going to happen.
Those Gestapo tactics were reviled here but if Ryan and Romney it is ok?
An esteemed senator and the former Speaker of the House have accomplished quite a lot over the years.
I have actually heard Ryan speak on poverty and economic issues.
He is an excellent speaker.
I would love to take his class.

TK,

Yeah, right. That is why they are called fire "suppression" because not only does it prevent spreading the fire, as all suppression systems do but it does it by putting the fire out.

The argument is nil now since they didn't use it.

We didn't just lose RINOs, when we lost the House, btw. In any case, you can save yourself the trouble of trying to revisit this exchange if Trump wins by a landslide, because keeping the House would hardly have negated that possibility. It's easy enough to agree to disagree on speculative matters which will remain speculation on causes after the fact. But let's be clear:

I don't disagree that Trump will be able to take advantage of the tawdry display of Dems in action. And as mentioned above, I'm also sure he understood the relative value of saving the Senate in a potentially divided Congress. What I disagree with is your assertion that losing the House was actually "viewed as a victory," although you apparently can't quite commit yourself to explicitly saying it was viewed as a victory by Trump.

Tom R

I sure hope Candace Owens has a competent and loyal security detail to protect her from all the commie thugs.

lyle

Just finished it, Jane. What the esteemed VDH omitted: these treasonous jackasses see the only obstacle on their path to their socialist utopia is...us aka We The People. Violence against us is not only permissible but fully sanctioned. As many of us have pointed out, plan accordingly. This is also why a Ryan or a Romney are worse than useless. They’re dangerously naive.

lyle

Or worse: complicit.

Old Lurker

Beasts "Impeachment could lead to his removal from office, Tom R - that's why."

PLUS

While the process is underway, R's in Congress will be pressured to not support MAGA agenda actions.

PLUS PLUS, while the process is underway there would be ZERO chance that a Trump SCOTUS nominee would clear the Senate when nominated by a man who MIGHT be kicked out of office. Even if the process started and ended in record time, by then that SCOTUS nominee would be within the "one year rule" the GOP applied to Obama's last nominee.

So duh.

Anyone who can say "so what if they impeach Trump" is not paying attention.

Does anyone have proof he voted against President Trump? Just because he says “That Us Not Who We Are” just means he is not like Trump.

There's a interesting theory about father deprivation being a factor in spawning homosexuals. FULL COMMIE may be a more significant indicator:

Joseph was particularly obsessed with Italian Communist Party founder Antonio Gramsci, who he devoted much of his career to studying. He served as the President of the International Gramsci Society, which was founded to “facilitate communication and the exchange of information among the very large number of individuals from all over the world who are interested in Antonio Gramsci’s life and work and in the presence of his thought in contemporary culture.”
Gramsci was an avid Leninist and a pioneer in the field of cultural Marxism, the strategy to politicize every aspect of society to better facilitate a communist takeover. The elder Buttigieg gave rabble-rousing speeches about the work of this obscure communist to gatherings of socialists while he was alive.

rse

My recollection is that gramsci's work mirrors the early Marx work which was relatively unknown until a conference in the 30s. When I write about the Human Development Society that vision is taken from his early works. There is such congruence that scholars have looked to see if gramsci was exposed to the manuscript.

It supposedly was not translated to English until the late 50s, but that turns out not to be true. It was translated into english and seen by a small group in the 30s for a UK conference. Again though that was after gramsci wrote.

My point though is that the phrase 'Cultural Marxism' fits with adding race, gender, or sexuality to the plethora of grievances. Both marx and gramsci though were quite aware that the real battleground was controlling thought at the individual level and culture at the collective level as their tool. Marx believed a change in eco practices would naturally change thought. Gramsci realized more explicit practices would be required and the behavioral scientists have now followed through.

Using cybernetics theory to drive how learning standards work globally is not new, but as all the elements are now in place it is easy to see if you look at all the elements and now the theories.

Extraneus,

Beasts of England

MJW

Tom R, if you spin every setback as a victory, then everything that occurs is evidence for your 4-D theory. And if "it will show how bad the Democrats are" can be used to explain why a seeming Republican defeat is actually beneficial, most every setback can be made a victory.

Lose the House? All part of the Big Plan! Too bad the Republicans didn't also lose the Senate. What a rout of the Democrats that would have been! Twice the opportunity to show how bad they can be!

D

Your response MM “good point “was a direct slam at a catholic university.
It is subtle but a distinct slur at them because they are presently a more liberal university.I am a practicing Catholic and don’t take that kind of derisive innuendo lightly.

MissMarple2

D.,

Romney is from the "free trade so that my hedge fund will grow" wing of the party. He is not sympathetic to blue collar workers, nor does he understand manufacturing, mining, or other industries which are needed to keep the wealth in this country.

The reason Trump was elected, and why his base is so strong, is that Trump understands us and is trying to make our lives better. His supporters know that he gave up an easy life and, along with his family, signed on for a life of service and may I say, at great personal risk.

And in case you don't realize it, although I have a degree I came from a blue collar background, and most of my lide I have worked as a sales clerk, soil sample catalog sorter, and various other non-glamorous or academic part time jobs. This entire neighbo0rhood in which I now live is blue collar.

Romney is the kind of guy who tells people laid off from coal mines to learn to code.

What was knowable at the time of the 2018 midterms is that there was 0% probability of the Senate convicting Trump on whatever bogus articles of impeachment that the Democrats came up with. What was maybe known at the time of the 2018 midterms was that the odds were in Trump's favor for surviving an impeachment, those odds changing if the House and Senate were lost.

Some of the very same voices here jumped down my throat time and time again when I observed that losing the House might stall or end Trump's run and wondered why the Law & Order Card was not played at all, and why the Wall fight was poorly played when Ryan snookered Trump on the budget.

Those people probably have not changed their opinions, and neither have I. I will always think the House was lost and the MAGA army retreated with guns still wrapped in cosmoline and crates of ammunition unfired.

The hypocrite mayor Buttigieg annoys me, especially now that he's spouting French and lying about VP Pence. Daniel Greenfield wrote a great column about the devious little twerp a few days ago:

"On March 31, a South Bend grandma brought her grandson to the hospital. The 11-month-old baby boy had been shot. His grandmother’s car had also taken fire. It was another early morning in South Bend.

"Around the same time, Mayor Buttigieg, was toting up the $7 million in donations from his charm offensive as his bid for the 2020 Democrat nomination got underway. The national media never bothered reporting the shooting of an 11-month-old boy in the city he was supposed to be running, but instead confined its coverage of South Bend matters to a publicity stunt wedding officiated by Buttigieg.

"The horrifying shooting of an 11-month-old boy on the millennial mayor’s watch was not an unusual incident. In the last few days, even as the media was gushing over Buttigieg’s presidential ambitions, two Indiana University South Bend players were injured in a shooting on Notre Dame Avenue, a blind date ended in a shooting, and yet another shooting added to the bloody toll in the real South Bend.

"Those are quite a few shootings for a city of barely 100,000 people. But South Bend is a violent place."

Greenfield gives us quite a bit more in that column that I haven't seen anywhere else. If someone here on jom posted it, I missed it.

Bernie Sanders Calls for Border Camps to End Catch-and-Release of Migrants

“We have a problem at the border, a serious problem … We need the proper legal processes at the border so that these issues can be adjudicated to determine whether or not people or should be entitled to asylum,” Sanders said April 15.

When asked where the migrants could be kept prior to their asylum hearings, Sanders responded by saying, “What about building proper facilities for them right now? That can be done right on the border.”

Extraneus

That was from the Fox town hall, btw...

Extraneus
Many Democrat politicians in major cities welcome the migrants who will flood labor markets and communities, so nudging down wages and raising real-estate costs for blue-collar Americans.

Sanders has repeatedly argued against the pro-migration, cheap-labor policies pushed by other Democrats and by business leaders.

“If you open the borders, my God, there’s a lot of poverty in this world, and you’re going to have people from all over the world,” Sanders said at an April 7 event in Oskaloosa, Iowa. “I don’t think that’s something that we can do at this point.”

In 2015, Sanders argued that open borders would impoverish Americans. “Open borders? Now that’s a Koch brothers proposal,” he told Vox.com. “That’s a right-wing proposal which says essentially there is no United States … it would make everyone in America poorer and you’re doing away with the concept of the nation-state and I don’t think there’s any country in the world which believes in that.”

Extraneus
He continued, saying, “What right-wing people in this country would love is an open-borders policy. Bring in all kinds of people, work for $2 or $3 an hour … I think we have to raise wages in this country.”
