My confusion is WHO was investigating it?

Could be the DOJ, could be Mueller, could be a coordinated effort between both of them.

"If it turns out that Mueller was indeed investigating the global money laundering scandal like Field believes, IMO that satisfies the demand for proof that Mueller was working with Trump and not trying to destroy him. If Mueller was trying to destroy Trump, why would he be assisting in the DOJ crackdown on the money laundering scheme that helped send billions of dollars to his fellow Swamp allies? "

It's also possible that Mueller was looking to cherry pick findings that implicated Trump, Inc. or Trump, Inc. associates.

Not that Biden isn't a loon but with him out of the picture, who do they have that isn't radically left?

I don't think this sticks to Biden. It's nothing that we haven't seen in pictures a dozen times already. Biden's a creep, but a known creep, and there's nothing to suggest he's done anything in private that would seem like sexual harassment, unless I've missed it. Probably the naked swimming is the closest.

But in any case, they pretend Klobuchar or Buttigieg are moderate.

I wonder how much Trump knows about the coup and all the gory details.

Out to destroy not only his life but his families. I wonder if he has the goods on Zippy, and that is why we haven't heard much from him of his wife. What I do like is that he is sticking to his agenda: The border, health-care, beating ISIS, bringing the troops home, etc.

All the while strategizing how to make the big reveal? I wonder.

Thomas Collins

I wouldn't call Mr. Block paranoid. I'd say he's stoking up the troops for a close 2020 POTUS election. Any attempt by Team Trump to prevent the Dems from running roughshod over a clear Trump victory in the electoral college, but one gained by wins in several close states (which I what I think is again going to happen) will be portrayed as Trump acting like an aging dictator who won't step down.

My prediction: The post election day maneuverings with respect to the Trump-Harris Election of 2020 will make such maneuverings in the Hayes-Tilden Election of 1876 seem like reading circle at a Montessori elementary school.

It'll be Harris-Buttigieg or Harris- O'Rourke, Rocco. The Clinton machine will try to slip The Hill in there again, but the Obama machine will win out. It's not just Biden who is going to be run over. I'm convinced the Obama Machine has decided to run a yute movement against Trump and Pence (thus Harris at the top and a callow young of pallor male on the bottom of the ticket).

And, of course, as to the crucial question of whether I'll bet another tat on it, I'm considering what I will want on the other side of the bet if I am correct. :-)

Finally something I think we all agree on. If we are correct, I think it will be a lot easier for the DOJ to get convictions against those officer level players thanks to Mueller exonerating Trump of the false allegation made by many of those same officer level players.

Captain Hate

MissMarple2

Maryrose,

I have become more fond of Cruz since the election. He has sided with the President and been a pretty good commenter on Twitter.

Your interpretation of my statement is incorrect as regards to my thinking.

As I said, they may have used Mrs. Cruz as a mark to frame him if he had won the nomination.

I am worried about a LOT of the GOP, because it is obvious now that a lot are under the control of Wall Street or the Chamber of Commerce. You can choose to think I am paranoid, but I am not the only one who thinks that.

mm=heritage is only conservative in the sense jeb bush is, if you allow people or entities to label themselves whatever they wish if it gains donations or wins elections.

As an entity they describe the MH vision quite well, except that instead of government providers of the declared benefits necessary to create "equal opp for all" they want private providers.

Those private providers in turn get labelled 'free enterprise' in their white papers until somebody who actually reads them and understands the term's true meaning points out that free enterprise is actually NOT providing government mandated services that they fund based on criteria that government dictates.

I actually met stephen moore, just nominated to the fed last week when he spoke at a luncheon I attended. I picked up on something he said and asked a follow-up question afterwards to clarify the implications of what he was saying. Not confrontational, but he found me later and asked who I was. I said why?. but that I was a lawyer that did ed research and that I realized there was an analogy and that led to my question.

Later I realized that the think tanks want to frame how an issue is seen. They want to be seen as creating a narrative and simply are not used to someone who can recognize what is not true in the narrative.

I know for a fact that heritage's ed reporter, lindsey burke, appears to be a regular at many unesco meetings and that the practical result of many of their rec's dovetails with what unesco pushes under differing rationales.

Wishing djt recognized them for the whores they actually seem to be and I think aei is far worse. No wonder jonah remains a senior fellow there.

Thomas Collins

When are these indictments supposed to come down, Tom R? Is July 1, 2020 a reasonable date to reassess this? At least, since it's now in the past, we can agree that pre-2018 election was not the time frame (or is holding back on what might have stemmed the Dem tide in the House part of 4-D chess).

Ralph L

ran up the skim pool from $1.7T to $4.2T, which is what Ryan was complicit to
Biden stuck to the skinny pool because it's for dips.

Captain Hate

I am worried about a LOT of the GOP, because it is obvious now that a lot are under the control of Wall Street or the Chamber of Commerce.

How can you say that after the Obamacare repeal and completing the wall?

MissMarple2

TK.

I din't make myself clear.

During the election I was worried about Cruz because of Goldman Sachs and their possible influence (and yes, that included a worry of blackmail).

Since the Inauguration I have seen Cruz back up Trump on more than one occasion, and he hasn't been at all a problem, unlike Paul Ryan was.

BUT, my worry still is that the democrats had a plot to take him down as well if he had gotten the nomination, because the dems wanted to win and failing that, wanted to delegitimize whoever the GOP president was.

By the way, a LOT of people here didn't like Trump at first and I do not accuse them of letting their old dislike surface whenever they are critical of something he does. I would like the same courtesy from you and Maryrose.

Captain Hate,

Has the wall been completed yet? No.

Has Obamacare been replaced? No.

I could be wrong and just worried unnecessarily, I admit. I also admit I got Heritage mixed up with some other group whose name escapes me. I had forgotten Jeb's and
Jobah's membership.

As I said this morning, there are way too many entities and individuals for me to keep track of.

I am now going to follow RG's advice. LOL!

Narciso79

I doubt it, 1984 is a how to manual for them, remember this was after mutallab and before the koati bros when they said there were 100s of westerners in camps.

Captain Hate

JM Hanes

Miss Marple:

"By the way, a LOT of people here didn't like Trump at first and I do not accuse them of letting their old dislike surface whenever they are critical of something he does."

So true! I was horrified by Trump's candidacy, and didn't hesitate to say so. I also didn't think he could win, and I still sometimes have trouble listening to him speak -- although that's changing too. I'm a huge fan now, though, thanks in some substantial part to you and the stalwart support you have given him from the start.

In all that time, you have been nothing but gracious to those of us who came late to the table.

Threadkiller

. I would like the same courtesy from you and Maryrose.

I didn't say anything to you, MM, about previous dislikes. I assumed that you and I were in the same boat dealing with D's accusation regarding Cruz.

Personally I don't like Cruz at all and assume his efforts now are of the tail-between-the-legs variety.

I was thanking D for allowing me to have my opinion, not for her attempt to dress down your opinion.

Does that make sense?

MissMarple2

TK, Captain Hate,

I missed that because I think my brain was frozen with no heat in the house.

I am holed up here in my bedroom next to my space heater with the two smaller dogs and my son's cat, whom I am boarding until his girlfriend is ready to take him in. He earns his keep by the lack of mice this winter, though.

What JMH said at 1:37. Though I was never "horrified" by Trump. I'm just accustomed to voting on policy/ideology, so I preferred Cruz to Trump. MissMarple2

Goodluck, MM. If it popping the actual breaker in the house panel, a reset button in the unit is likely popping for the same reason.

Do not accept a patch or "temporary repair" on a gas fired furnace, MM. You are risking your life if you do.

I am not enamored of gas furnaces as I grew up in homes built by my dad, who was also a furnace repair (and sheet metal) guy and he always hat oil burners. He didn't like gas furnaces.

Therefore, I am very careful about repairs.

MissMarple2

TK,

There was an on-off switch on the side of the furnace. I turned it off and on again.

The blower keeps starting up and then stopping. The thermostate says the heat is on (although the temperature remains at 60.)

The furnace does NOT feel warm to the touch, so I don't think the burner is coming on.

Should I just go ahead and turn it off?

I do remember you and jmh being horrified when I said I was going with djt in late january 2016 as the 'least worst' of what was available.

MM-heritage and most of the so-called conservative or libertarian think tanks all believe in a politically orgnaized society. They also have little use for the individual. Most peddle a communtarian view if you read carefully. They belong to a global group called the Atlas Network and if you follow that and its meetings and board of directors it is populated with ex-Un and world bank employees.

As an exercise tale a look at whatever is a famous think tank based in indy, hudson is there for one, I believe, and look at its board. They tend to be bankers and utility execs and others whose business model is working hand in hand with government entities.

Yes, leave it off. The blowere cycles on waiting for a signal that the burner is burning. If it doesn't get that signal it shuts itself down.

Before I remember thinking that your furnace had a "rollout" problem where flames and gasses cross from the burner side to the fresh air side. There are sensors that shut the system down to prevent an absolute catastrophe.

I have seen these sensors bypassed by technicians to buy the homeowner some time. More like by them an early funeral.

Buckeye,

I know. One of the reasons my dad sold his business was the declining number ofoil burners being installed.

This house is a 3-bedroom bungalow from the 1950's, so consequently it has an old gas heating system, probably installed 10-15 years ago.

Doesn't mean I am not scared of it, though. We have had several house fires here over the winter that were chalked up to malfunctioning gas furnaces.
