I hope this paves the way for a hard Brexit. It appears that the post-modern transnational mules have not been hit by enough two by fours yet.

Thomas Collins

I would not say the one world open borders folks are delusional, because that would be an insult to delusionists, who on occasion have moments of clarity.

Thomas Collins

But on to more crucial matters. Do any Blues fans want to engage in a friendly wager? If Broonz prevail, you must, for two weeks, be wearing Broonz regalia in your Facebook pic. I will wear Blues regalia for two weeks in my Facebook pic if St. Louis prevails.

Last time I made this bet, in connection with the Broonz/Blackhawks Stanley Cup finals, I ended up wearing a Patrick Kane jersey on Facebook.

Old Lurker

TC, since I believe you and I both grew up in the same small town in Missouri, I suspect we both will wait to see about Brexit and to read declassified documents when they get posted to the web.

That said, good signs.

Thomas Collins

Yes, OL, I think some of our friends here call that small town Eeyorsville, Missouri! :-)

Captain Hate

Sod off, May.

Jane

I thought I just saw her step down, with a tear in her eye. Or maybe that's the point.

It's going to be a wonderful June.

GUS

May, like your typical FULL COMMIE LIBTARD has acted outside of the wishes of her country an it's citizens. THEY VOTED. 3 YEARS LATER.....May has been PRETENDING to try to complete return to British sovereignty. Is this YOUR future?

henry

TC, I'd take your bet... except that would require me to create a facebook page. (Plus I don't bet).

henry

As for "Eeyoresville, MO" I believe most people call that "Kansas City." Or somewhere around there... strange land without a brewery.

Thomas Collins

Don't look at it as a bet, henry. Look at it as a chance to diversify our wardrobes!

If you change your mind, we'll do it by a photo attachment to a text message!

If all else fails, we'll have good natured banter here!

St Louis Whoooze? Party like it's 1970! :-)

henry

Banter works for me.

I may need to go into JOM witness protection from Blues fans after posting this link!

Thomas Collins

OK, henry. Banter it is!

MissMarple2

Thanks for letting me know about the new thread, Jane!

henry

I guess Redsoxville has to live in the past alot.

Tom Bowler

A question for the JOM attorneys: Is Barr likely to withhold declassified information from the public if he plans use it in a criminal proceeding against someone?

On the flipside of that question, if Barr releases declassified information to the public, does that mean we should not expect indictments?

Thomas Collins

Good one, henry! A cross sports ding!

Jane

Tom,

Good questions. I don't know the answers. My guess is the public knowing can push them toward pleas and screwing their team mates. It depends on who Barr is really aiming for.

I think they will be indicted, and the important part is how they react (telling on Obama, spilling more beans, turning state's evidence).

Compare Manafort and Cohen. Every last one of them is dirty and will do anything to save their ass.

We will figure out where Barr is aiming by what he does, altho I think the CT prosecutor is really holding the cards at this point.

henry

AB, PumpkinSpice Alehouses don't count. Just kidding, every burg has a brewery these days.

Another Bob

"Is Barr likely to withhold declassified information from the public if he plans use it in a criminal proceeding against someone?"

No question, he will withhold under those circumstances.

This is why all the secret investigations bother me. Built in excuse to release nothing.

More wrongdoing has been buried that way than you can shake ten sticks at.

This is from the link I put up at the end of the previous thread.

The media ecosystem in the United States has experienced rapid techno-logical changes over the past 30 years that have affected the way news is produced, consumed, and disseminated. This internally funded report seeks to assess empirically whether and how presentation of news in newspapers, television, and online has changed in light of these devel-opments. We use R AND-Lex, a suite of R AND Corporation tools that combine text analysis and machine learning, to explore changes in news presentation over time and across platforms. It considers the implications of observed changes and of areas in which reporting has stayed the same. The report will be of interest to journalists, those who study news media and mass communication, and consumers who want to understand more about the media ecosystem and how it has evolved. This report is one of a series focused on the topic of Truth Decay, defined as the diminishing role that facts, data, and analysis play in today’s political and civil discourse. The original report, Truth Decay: An Initial Exploration of the Diminishing Role of Facts and Analysis in American Public Life by Jennifer Kavanagh and Michael D. Rich, was published in January 2018 and laid out a research agenda for studying and developing solutions to the Truth Decay challenge.

They were essentially trying to indict Comey for rigging the election for Trump. But the DOJ's Office of Special Counsel has a tradition of stopping investigations if the person resigns or is fired. So Trump firing Comey ended the case against him, sabotaging the coup plans.

Tom Bowler

Thanks, Jane. I suppose, "It depends." is as good an answer as we can get.

AB, if Barr withholds declassified information under those circumstances, we might expect to learn about it during any trials that come up. Yes?

It's not an "investigation." It's selective declassification by Trump's ultra-political AG in order to tell a false story, conducted at the same time that the president's private lawyers are fighting in court to suppress subpoenas to tell the true story

Ben Carson: ‘Hypocritical’ Democrats Concerned with Child Housing but Support Late-Term Abortion

“Yes or no: Is stable and safe housing a social determinant of health?” Pressley asked.

Carson responded healthy housing is important.

But Carson told Breitbart News the Democrat lawmaker’s concern about children being displaced — like that of many of her leftwing colleagues — doesn’t extend to all children.

“Children from other places take priority over children from our own country?” Carson said. “They don’t seem to want to answer that question.”

“And the people who spend all of their time [on] tearjerking stories about these 55,000 children are very much the same people who advocate for late-term abortion,” Carson said.

“That is particularly offensive to me as a pediatric neurosurgeon who operated on a lot of babies that were 26, 27, 28 weeks gestation,” Carson said. “And they’re going to kill babies even beyond that time.”

“That makes absolutely no sense, and it’s extremely hypocritical,” Carson said.

“You sit there, and you say you’re cruel to these kids, but then you turn around and you’re ready to cut another kid’s head off. Really? Are you kidding me?” Carson said.

Beasts of England

I don't either, Clarice. They may have to withhold some material for other reasons - legitimate sources and methods issues - but I suspect most of it will be cleared.

GUS

TK, It's absurd. Comey ran interference for THE DRUNKEN PIG. First Comey and Strzok decided RODHAM the DRUNKEN PIG, did not need to be investigated and despite mountains of evidence, let the DRUNKEN PIG OFF.
Then....after LYNCH and BILLY da RAPIST conspired about LYNCH'S jet in PHX, Comey came out and pretended to be the A.G. and let RODHAM...THE DRUNKEN PIG OFF again. Later when NY authorities pointed out THE DRUNKEN PIG had allowed classified STATE DEPT docs to get to CONVICTED SEX OFFENDER WEINERS LAPTOP, Comey had ZERO OPTION but to pretend to be investigating again.

I don't know if its accidental or intentional on your part but you have a habit of leaving out the key parts of tweets that provide context.

In the future will you please include the original tweet from the person Fields was replying to so we can know the full context of the discussion?

There is also no doubt whatsoever that the Democrats were pissed off at Comey for helping Trump beat Hillary as evidenced by the number of prominent Democrats who called for him to get fired or resign.

Comey was indeed scheduled to testify before Congress but it got cancelled since he got fired. Without knowing the context of the original tweet I can't tell you if the subject of his testimony was related to the discussion Fields and christianbal4 were having.

Given the declassification authority is delegated to Barr only, does this mean none of the documents will be made public until 2021 or so because "ongoing investigations"?

For those who claim the investigations were going on all along, how could they investigate anything if the evidence is all hidden under classification?

Henry,

Declassification just means the information can be released to the public. While it was still classified DOJ investigators with the proper security clearance and an official need to know had the ability to view the classified documents.

Assuming some of the soon to be unclassified info is being used in the Horowitz report, the declassification allows those parts of the Horowitz report to be published without redactions.

Robert Mueller wants to testify in private before Congress, House Judiciary Chairman Jerrold Nadler says

Based on how ridiculous and immature the Senate Democrats behaved when Barr testified Mueller testifying in private is probably the proper thing to do. This will prevent the House Democrats from behaving in a similar manner as the Senate Democrats did and give both parties a chance to ask legitimate questions without having to put on an act in front of the cameras.
