Captain Hate

Mueller to testify before House Judiciary Committee May 15.

Jim Eagle

Pink & White.

Based on what I saw in that NOVA feature on the Peregrine Falcon, it should be adopted as the official bird of The Ledge.

Beasts of England

đŸ’„ Mueller to testify before the House on May 15th. Oh, boy!! đŸ’„

Beasts of England

I'm really shocked he's considering it, Captain. There's no upside for him. How is he going to answer the question of when he determined no collusion?

sbwaters

Who cares? Those sneakers don't go with that dress anyway.

For 10 months, China has been paying Tariffs to the USA of 25% on 50 Billion Dollars of High Tech, and 10% on 200 Billion Dollars of other goods. These payments are partially responsible for our great economic results. The 10% will go up to 25% on Friday. 325 Billions Dollars....

....of additional goods sent to us by China remain untaxed, but will be shortly, at a rate of 25%. The Tariffs paid to the USA have had little impact on product cost, mostly borne by China. The Trade Deal with China continues, but too slowly, as they attempt to renegotiate. No!

Captain Hate

Beasts,

I think there's a lot of downsides for the donks compared to the GOP. Maybe they can bring a genius like Patterico in for Constitutional insight.

Jane

They were pink on TV this AM, they are green on this blog. (Didn't we already go thru this once?)

Captain Hate

Grey and green. Maybe people really see colors differently.

Mueller is going to Congress, because he wants to keep the STORY about MUELLER. His letter to BARR makes it clear that his "feeeewings" were hurt.

Dems told Mueller to get his ass up there, or he is never getting another social invitation as long as he lives.

And yes, Donna Brazille will be giving him the questions in advance.

Just my opinion but I think FB, Google, etc, are doing the age old hubristic thing of "I am the latest and greatest, what alternative do you have" and sowing the seeds of their own demise.
Instead of serving the broad market they have cast their lot with one portion of it, a thing they would never do without the power they now wield. Thing is, wielding the power is always what sets in motion others to end it or end run it.
The latest and greatest always thinks it's a jagged new impregnable mountain but human nature and markets are water.

Mueller testifying is just another "Hail Mary" pass for the Dems. This won't go well once Jim Jordan, Tom McCLintock, Gohmert, and Collins get going.

Does the combined IQ of the Dem members of the House Judiciary Committee hit 3 digits? Sheila Jackson Lee, Hank Johnson, Steve Cohen, Ted Liu? It's a parade of morons with Nadler at the top.

UPDATE: House Judiciary member Rep. David Cicilline has walked back his claim that Mueller has tentatively agreed to testify before the committee on May 15, apologizing for the confusion.

henry

Mueller should avoid testifying. He opens himself up to a review of his spotty past (from Bulger onwards).

Manuel Transmission

Regarding the handling of horses, my oldest BIL was a 6’6” cowboy and a horse whisperer. I worked for him all through Jr Hi and HS summers. Never saw him punish a horse. Like working with dogs, you sorted out their personality and nudged them as far as you could. Some became great saddle horses, some were decent bucking broncos that thrived at local rodeos, and some won the trip to the dog food plant. In later years before he passed, he would cry at seeing what was happening to the ‘wild mustangs’ starving out in open country because ‘they deserved to be left alone’. Pfft.

Beasts of England

I wondered about that claim that Mueller would testify since to me it would be political suicide even for Nadler since the GOP have the Julie Kelly 25 Questions.

I'm sorry, but if you check the JOM record, you'll find that I called dibs on Peregrines long ago! I believe red tailed hawks are still available, however.

What's amazing to me is not so much hawks moving through woodlands, but larger birds like owls and turkeys negotiating their way through virtual thickets at speed.

JM Hanes

BTW, is the NOVA video the one where they strapped a little camera on the peregrine's head for a "you were there" dive experience? If not, I'll have to find that one in my bookmarks and post it. It was unbelievable too.

It seems poor sportsmanship on the part of the Country House team to lodge the objection when their horse was not affected.

It wasn't Country House who objected, or the horse that Maximum Security bumped into, but the one *that* horse bumped into.

When he abruptly bolted out of his lane and crashed into War or Will — hard — who then hit Long Range Toddy, the damage was done. Even though Maximum Security went on to win the race, you have to ask this: would War of Will been able to win the race had he not been knocked off stride?

I don't know. Probably not. But he never got the chance. Country House was not going to pass Maximum Security. Long Range Toddy never recovered from the contact and finished 16th.

Tyler Gafflione, who rode War of Will, didn't claim foul after the race. The rider of Long Range Toddy, Jon Court, did. And so did Flavien Prat, who was on Country House, who would be the eventual winner. He was not involved in the brunt of the banging, but Prat said his horse was turned sideways a bit.

Mark Casse, the trainer of War of Will, said his horse almost clipped heels with Maximum Security. If he was really bothered, why didn't his rider call foul?

Gafflione said afterwards that he had to check "pretty hard." And that was that.

After spending more than $35,000,000 over a two year period, interviewing 500 people, using 18 Trump Hating Angry Democrats & 49 FBI Agents - all culminating in a more than 400 page Report showing NO COLLUSION - why would the Democrats in Congress now need Robert Mueller.......

....to testify. Are they looking for a redo because they hated seeing the strong NO COLLUSION conclusion? There was no crime, except on the other side (incredibly not covered in the Report), and NO OBSTRUCTION. Bob Mueller should not testify. No redos for the Dems!

clarice

Biden says ‘Margaret Thatcher’ called him with concerns about Trump

Biden, who would be 78 on Inauguration Day, told a small group of donors in Columbia, South Carolina on Saturday that “14 heads of state” have contacted him, and “voiced concerns about Trump.”

Bloomberg reports:

That list included Margaret Thatcher, he said, before correcting what he called a “Freudian slip,” that he was actually referring to current British Prime Minister Theresa May.

Biden decried Trump calling his foes names, before the former vice president called him a “clown” and “no good S.O.B.,” according to Bloomberg.

Extraneus

I suppose she ok'd him to make that public?

He's a fool. I hope he gets the nomination.

jimmyk

Ok, I'd only read that Country House's trainer raised an objection, as in here:

https://www.cbssports.com/general/news/why-2019-kentucky-derby-winner-came-from-riders-objection-maximum-securitys-disqualification/

In any case, I've also read that it's a judgment call. The stewards can decide even if there was a foul whether it would or would not have altered the outcome of the race. Maybe they felt War of Will or Long Range Toddy were adversely affected. But they got no benefit from the ruling, other than being 7th and 16th instead of 8th and 17th.

MissMarple2

Extraneus,

I am telling you, Biden cannot compete. If the dems think he appeals to the working class and middle class, they are bonkers.

He will be a gaffe a minute, plus he does not have the stamina. That's not even counting his ties with China through his son, and the Ukraine scandal.

However, I don't mind him running, because it brings up shady stuff he and his son did.

Beasts of England

Little doubt about that, Extraneus. And rubbing salt in their wounds.

Jane

Biden is, and has always been, dumb as a plug.

Saw a decent number through central Nevada and they were all in remarkably good shape, especially since they were just exiting winter. The BLM must be removing enough to make a difference. A goodly number of pronghorns and mule deer also.

Four pronghorn decided to lope along beside the truck out on a gravel road for a half mile or so, which drove Chester nearly mad trying to get at them and give them a real run.

Extraneus

Yeah, I guess it was both, but at least one of them was involved in the contact.

Beasts of England

Yes, Jane! Can't wait to see how they thread him through the moral and ethical needle!! lol

Biden is a self absorbed asshole.

I hope he gets the nomination too.

Trump will have a field day.

Buckeye

Meanwhile, the Palis fire over 650 rockets from Gaza into Israel, killing four Israelis.
